Hi, I have a question on SMP3 and Integration...:
We have already a developed application using SAP UI5, along with Netweaver gateway integration for SAP connectivity (Non-SMP application)
My Questions are -
1. If we want to make it as SMP 3.0 application using Kapsel framework. So is it wise to remove NWGW and use Integration Gateway of SMP for SAP connectivity?
2. FOr further developments, shall I go ahead and develop application without considering NWGW.

There are a lot of advantages moving to SMP 3 since you are looking for migrating your UI5 apps to SMP. The Kapsel plugins are going to give 7 major features:
Push Notifications- Notifications from SAP reaches mobile app, its a major requirement sometimes from customers.
Logger- Logging of the request/response from mobile app in SMP logs.
Settings - Gives a default settings screen to provide the SMP server details
Encrypted Storage - The application data is encrypted in the device (more security).
Logon
AuthProxy
App Update - Whenever there is a new version of app, it prompt for a upgrade automatically.
Apart from above plugins there are a lot of cordova plugins available that you can add in your app to make it rich in features. And SAP would be adding more plugins to Kapsel list in future that will give more advantages.
But if your customer is happy with the UI5 app developed, and the above mentioned or any other features are not required you don't need to spend money on SMP 3.
Regarding MDM, it is independent of SMP, but there are Afaria libraries (native apps) packaged with SMP that provides provisioning of configuration data and certificates for your SAP Mobile Platform client application.

Testing OData Service on SMP3

Here's what I've done so far:
Created an OData model in GWPA, deployed to SMP3 Integration Gateway, wide open access, I can pull up the service document on the Integration Gateway, I created an application definition in the Admin Cockpit, created a SQL Server JDBC destination, set service document URL to application connection, created a starter HTML5 hybrid application in GWPA, and exported the WAR file.
Questions
- Is there a way to test the JDBC destination connection that we create in the SMP Admin cockpit?
- I'm assuming SMP3 runs on a version of Tomcat. I dropped the HTML5 war file in C:\SAP\MobilePlatform3\Server\pickup, can I view it in browser? What's the URL to it?
I'm just trying to do an end-to-end proof of concept of creating an OData service in GWPA against a JDBC source, and consuming it with an HTML5 application.

To open the jump report in new window or in the same window we can use option "show jump target in" in BW3.X and "RRI Open mode" in BW7.X, in 3.X we can see following 3 options
1. No Entry or _self - This opens the jump report in new window
2.Frame Name - This is with HTML code, to partition the current window.
3. Window Name - ???how can I use this option???
can anyone pls let me know, how can we use frame option to open new tab and how can I use window name option to open in new tab.
My IE settings are set to open in new tab insted of new window, still the it is not working.

Error when connecting an oracle DB with Integration gateway

I followed the steps from the blog How to connect an Oracle DB with Integration Gateway in SMP3 and the ojdbc was deployed successfully to SMP. Still, i'm getting "Driver class oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver not found" error message when i try to test my connection. The first difference i saw when completing these steps was that I'm using SMP3 SP05, could this be the issue?

Can you cross check if deployed driver are OSGi enabled? Refer this.
Can you share screenshot of the destination settings and error ?
note: The blog you followed is referring to SP03 (1st GA of SMP3)..You should not have any problem in connecting to Oracle DB being on any SP.

Error while connecting to Integration Gateway in Eclipse Junos

Hi Experts,
I am getting error while setting up Integration Gateway settings.
sending request to server failed reason: error during processing request on client
I am able to open Admin cockpit, gateway cockpit with same user and password. There is no information in log file also E:\SAP\MobilePlatform3\Server\log
What could be the possible reason?

What this error says exactly?
but if some port (maybe 8080) is blocked the SMP3 installation setup will automatically suggest you other (free) ports.
While SMP3 server installation, i came across this pop-up, are you talking about this one?

Do SMP3.0 supports JSON based RESTful services exposed via JBOSS server??

We are working on a PoC for a customer to consume JSON based RESTful (exposed via JBOSS Server) service from SMP 3.0. We were not able to get the DataSet. the below are the steps which we performed and the respective result.
1) Created a SMP Application - Able to ping the application with the base URL
2) Tested the connections - Able to create a Registration using Firefox POSTMAN client
3) Data Consumption from the service - We are not able to get the response for the service when we try the same via SMP,but we are able to get the data when we try the REST service URL directly from the browser.
How do we achieve this? Do SMP3.0 support JSON based RESTful service? Can Integration Gateway Help?

hi Jitendra,
attached are the screen shots of both SMP service from postman we tried and the original service from the browser.
1- postman ping for SMP URL and header says success.
2- Response body with entity set structure and empty data there is no data inside the collection named "Connection" as well and if i call this i fails with 501, that not implemented, so i guess SMP3 is unable to create the entity set out the JSON REST services while converting it into Odata service internally.
3- i can view data if run directly the REST service from browser.

Let me explanation an issue,
I Have a mobiliser 5.1 banking system and it running normally on server, and a few month later i want to use mobile application with (SMP3, Cordova with Kapsel and SAPGUI) for use my existing mobiliser system, heBut i find difficult when they want to access te services (SOAP) provided by the mobiliser system.
for information, which i have done for that:
install smp3.0 sp01
configure Eclipse IDE with SAPGUI plugin and integration gateway plugin
create odata service from jdbc -> successfully to access odata service provided from mobile application
create odata service from SOAP -> successfully to access odata service provided from mobile applicationn
But when i tried create Odata from mobiliser service, it failed with message " Could not send Message", i think this happens because the mobiliser service requires authentication. the following my question:
how to create Odata Service from SOAP service with authentication
if point 1 not possible, anyone have another solution for integrate service between SMP3 and Mobiliser (running on difference machine)
difference function the SAP mobile solution (Agentry, Integration gateway(SMP3), Appbuilder, Kapsel, SAPGUI, Afaria, Fiori)

The Mobiliser server components have been integrated into SMP3.0 and are actually the same components that are used for the standalone Mobiliser 5.1 SP03 release (also referred to as 5.1.3). The difference is in the packaging.

Now for the less obvious part …
The Mobiliser sample/reference mobile apps (aka Smartphone Mobiliser) and the build scripts required to build for iOS, Android, Blackberry and Mobile Web are part of the Mobiliser 5.1 SP03 release only. The apps didn't make it into the mobile platform, except for the build output of Mobile Web. With the build scripts mentioned, we did create a Mobile Web version that is included in the SMP3.0 server. This is a separate bundle that needs to be activated via the admin cockpit.
If you want to leverage the Smartphone Mobiliser product, you will have to use Mobiliser 5.1.3. Not sure how this works out from a sales/customer point of view. Let me know if you have issues with this.
Technically, the web services used by Smartphone Mobiliser to interface with the server are identical for SMP3.0 and Mobiliser 5.1.3. So Smartphone Mobiliser apps can work with both SMP3.0 and Mobiliser standalone. Mobiliser apps will directly interface with the smartphone web services.

SMP3 - AppDevelopment (Agentry):

Hi, I have a question on SMP3 and AppDevelopment (Agentry):
In previous projects we have typically run Agentry Server processes on our development machines so that we can unit test the enhancements that we are making prior to publishing to a more public DEV server.
I'm guessing that this is a pretty standard practice.
My question is: Does this model of having Agentry developers run their own Agentry Servers still hold for SMP3.0 now that Agentry has been incorporated into the main SMP server process.
We are on Ramp-Up for SMP 3 and I'm just about to setup our dev environments. Your comments would be appreciated!
Anyone know of any good articles that cover this topic for SMP 3.0?

In terms of environments here is what we commonly see and use. This actually applies to any Agentry version but yes also applies to SMP 3.0 as well.
Typically each developer will install an SMP 3.0 server as a developer installation on their development machine for their individual configuration activities. This instance would be setup in Agentry Developer mode (equivalent to ServerDev in previous releases). This instance would be pointing to your developement backend environment and be used for initial unit testing of their changes.
If you have multiple developers the would either checkin code to the Agentry share or go through a merge process to create a master version (Agentry Production Publish) that would then be promoted forward to the next environment.
The next environment is sometimes an integration test instance running in Agentry Production mode (ServerProd) SMP 3.0 (probably still as a developer installation) where the application is deployed for initial testing still against the development backend environment.
If everything looks good on the integration test instance, next would be deploying to your QA/Acceptance instance pointing to your QA/Acceptance backend environment. This should mirror production in terms of load balancing / clustering / data volumes etc. As such for SMP 3.0 it should be configured for a Production installation. Here is where your test team would execute their acceptance test scripts to confirm everything is ready before moving to the final Production environment.

Both the Mobiliser and SMP are based on OSGI java platform. All the current and future development of Mobiliser features will be tightly integrated into the SMP platform architecture. For example, SMP 3.X provides NFC APIs, web portals, security instruments, etc. for development enablement mainly focus on finance and retails domains. But if you consider customizing existing standard mobile apps based on Mobiliser such as Shopper Experience, mUtility, mLoyalty, etc., then make sure the apps and their features are certified by the SMP Platform.

I have setup a new technical system and a business system in SLD, but now I still can't find it in Integration Directory.
I knew from the later PI Version, that there was an option to transfer SLD data to integration directory, but now I can't find it
anymore.

Tools (or right-click in ID) --> Assign Business System --> follow the wizard...it will assign the business system from SLD to ID

What is new AT&T iPhone MMS date? I see integrated messaging feature

Okay, I heard that this was to happen at then end of Summer, then end of July.
So what is the new date? I see Integrated Messaging counters in my AT&T profile as of this week.

PreparedStatement doesn't offer methods for that. You can write your own implementation of PreparedStatement which wraps the originating PreparedStatement and saves the set* values and writes it to the toString().
If needed, myself I just print the sql as well as the values-being-set to the debug statement.Logger.debug(query + " " + values);

i know that the OER can be used to view the entire landscape for the SOA composites and how they are related with each other. However we have a requirement wherein we need to store the data for the entire integration end systems e.g. ebiz, mfgpro, siebel etc ( that is we need to store data one level up).
Also, we want a customized form in OER wherein user can manually add data regarding the integrations.
So is it possible to do so ? If yes, how ?

ok, let me put it this way,
I tried using the import/export utility available under OER admin tab.
When i export my existing assets it generates the .xml file for each asset. Now as i have hundreds on new assets to be created for each asset type i want to be able to create a new .xml file and want it to create the new asset once i import it using import utility. I tried creating a new .xml file giving it a new UUID but it does not seem to work. Has anyone tried this earlier who can give the steps to do this ?

variable, it is unclear what you are asking
