SMS email notification

is there any way to get an SMS to my phone when I get a new Email. For instance, my computer is on in the other room and I have been waiting for this email all day. I dont want to stay in my room and stare at the computer. it would be great to get a text letting me know i have new mail. Seems like a widget opportunity all you developers....

maybe u can check your message setting or
u can do the hard reset or
do a back up and wipe the device and restore back.

  • Subject: Integrating SMS and Email Notifications

    Hi All,
I'm trying to integrate our email notification system with some sort of SMS messaging system and I've a couple of questions
    1. Is it free to send the SMS from my java application...
    2. If I'm using smslib and GSM modem......who pay's for the SMS message here in the United States.....I know in Ireland its only the receiver who pay's but here it's both the sender and receiver pay when it's mobile to mobile
    3. This will be my first time doing anything like this, so and advice, code snippets or pointer would be really appreciated
    Thanks in advance
    f

SMS email gateways are usually free to send to, but be aware that they may shut you off if you spam users.
As for the recipient, I think the SMS goes against the recipient's allowed number of messages in his calling plan, but that really depends on the nature of the agreement between the recipient and the telco. If it goes over the allowed number of messages for the recipient, then he will be charged whatever rate is in the agreement.

  • SMS and/or email notifications from iPhone/iPod Touch calendar(s)

My wife and I have iPod Touch's that we use to sync 2 calendars. Is there ANY way to get SMS or email notifications of an event?
By syncing google calendar it will work ONLY if the event is created via google calendar - it won't work if it's created on the iPod.
I bought GoCal which says it has this feature, but I couldn't get it to work.
If i could get email notification i could just setup a filter to forward only those emails to my verizon dumb phones email address.
The point of this is to have a calendar that stays in sync, but we don't have our iPods with us every minute of the day. . . so we need the sms alert of the event.

    Thank you very much

  • SMS vs email notifications are no different

Very dissappointing that there is no way to assign different notification sounds for sms & emails!
Any idea if/when this will be corrected by software upgrade?
    Thanks

No, no idea.  BlackBerry doesn't hint at forthcoming software upgrades.
We can only hope that it's corrected but no timeline has been given.

  • DFM 3.2 email notifications have stopped

    Good day.
We're running LMS 3.2 with DFM 3.2, and at some point within the last month, email notifications from DFM have stopped flowing.  DFM is trapping events as they occur and these are viewable through the portal, but notifications that should be going out as email and SMS messages have stopped.
I can view "Notification Customization" and "Event Sets" within the LMS DFM portal (running on Windows), but...
      - accessing "Notification Groups" returns an "HTTP Status 500" error
      - accessing "SNMP Trap Notifications" returns "Problem with File /WEB-INF/screens/Notification/newtrapSubscription.jsp!!!Cannot find bean NewSubscription in scope null"
    - accessing "E-mail Configuration" --> "E-mail Notificatin" returns "Problem with File /WEB-INF/screens/Notification/NewEmailSubscription.jsp!!!Cannot find bean NewSUbscription in scope null"
    - accessing "SNMP Trap Notification"  returns "Problem with File /WEB-INF/screens/Notification/newtrapSubscription.jsp!!!Cannot find bean NewSubscription in scope null"
Backups going back beyond when this is believed to have stopped working are available if something needs to be restored.  If that's the direction I need to go, how do I restore just the DFM portion of the database?  If backup restore is not the way to proceed, what other advice can be provided.
    Thanks.

Never mind...I just restored the entire LMS database using a backup dated prior to when the notifications stopped.
    Problem solved.

  • Email notification - how to change?

I have a data only 8330 and can't figure out how to change the email notification sound.  Right now, all it does is vibrate.  I was hoping I could mess around with it a bit and get it to ping or something.  Also, is there a way to assign a different sound to different email accounts?  Thanks in advance!!

    welcme to the frums!
I just wanted to add to what the guys above have already said. It is a fellow blackberrian wrote this on a post (Jsanders)
    1. Select the Profiles icon
    2. A box will appear where you can quick select between Loud, Vibrate, Quiet, Normal, Phone Only, and Off. If you wish to quick change the device profiles then select the one you want and exit out.
    3. If you want to edit the tones assigned to the device applications then select the last option, Advanced
(some older models and OS 4.1 and below will not have the "Advanced" step--if Advanced is not present go directly to Step 4 below).
    4. Select the profile you wish to edit. (Loud, Vibrate, Quiet, Normal (default), Phone Only, Off)
Note: on the 8100, 8800, and 8300 models: Do not click the trackball. Instead, click the menu key to the left of the trackball).
Note: The profile that is in use will say: (Active)
    5. You will now see a list of all applications that can have a tone assigned (Browser, Calendar, Level 1 Messages, Messages ([email protected]), Messenger, MMS, Phone, SMS, Task ect..)
    6. Select the application you wish to edit the tone / notification for
    7. You can now edit Out of Holster and In Holster tones/ notifications.
    a) Select between: None, Tone, Vibrate, Vibrate+Tone
    b) Select the Tune you wish to use
    c) Select Volume (options are Mute, Low, Medium, High, Escalating)
    d) Select Number of Beeps (options are 1, 2, 3)
    e) Select Repeat Notification (options are None, LED Flashing)
    f) If set to Vibrate or Vibrate+Tone then select Number of Vibrations (options are 1, 2, 3)
    8. Repeat a-e for each of the desired applications listed in 5 above

  • Automatic SMS/Mail notification for local auto-reaction method

    Hello!
We would like to be informed via SMS/Mail about the Availability of satellite system.
When we assign a Local auto-reaction method for this MTE (Availability_SysPercent_ABAP) we receive the SMS/Mail notification only in case we manually start the auto reaction method from RZ20.
When we try to assign the central auto reaction method from RZ20 we get the following error:
Assignment for local system only works with nodes from agent segments
What is the procedure for the automatic SMS/Mail notification in case of local auto-reaction method?
    Thank you very much!

    Dear Team,
As I have understood, you want to be informed each time a satellite system is not up and running ?
    Option 01
    ========
    1. Install the CCSMPING agent in SOLMAN
    2. Create your satellites systems through RZ21 - Technical Infrastructure - Availability Monitoring - Configure CCMSPING ...
        Create all satelittes systems ...
    3. Then, from SOLMAN_WORCENTER, in SYSTEM Monitoring, you have the status of each satellites systems created
        in RZ21 (point 2).
This option will not advised when a satellite system is down. But from one WEB page, you will have the status of all satellites systems.
    Option 02
    ========
1.Install the CCSMPING agent in SOLMAN
    2. Create your satellites systems through RZ21 - Technical Infrastructure - Availability Monitoring - Configure CCMSPING ...
        Create all satellites systems.
    3. RZ20 - SAP CCMS Monitor Templates - Double-click on "Availability and Performance Overview"
Open "Availability" - Then, all satellites systems which have been added under point 2 will appear.
    4. Select one satelitte system
    5. Open "Availability"
    6. Select "ABAP: Checked by CCMSPING.<solman-hostname>.00"
    7. When selected, click on "Properties" button.
    8. Then, you assign here an auto-reaction method - for example :
        "ccms_send_alert_to_alm_ccms_containerv4".
    9. Copy this method to Zccms_send_alert_to_alm_ccms_containerv4.
    10. In this method, add you email address.
    11. Then, check that job "SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP is running. This job collects data in the CCCMS (RZ20).
    12. Then, the alert will be automatically sends to your email adress.
    Hope it helps ?
    Best regards

  • Unwanted 'New Email' notification on home screen

Havin read some of the posts on this board concerning email notification messages, i went to
menu-tools-settings-general-personalisation-homescreen-mode settings-homescreen applications-enabledapplications, and unticked both email1 and email2 notifications, and yet I still get the message every time I recieve an email on the mail for exchange.
    any suggestions?
also it does seem pretty absurd the setttings are buried away in these menus to such an extent you have to look it up online to sort the navigation...

I agree with you. The Nokia Messaging gives you the push mail, but the notification on the phone is poor. You have to open the Nokia Mail app on the 5800 to see the message. Without V30 if new mail arrives and you miss the beep there is no indication from the home screen of new mail.
Even with V30 unfortunately you can only see the most recent email that has arrived on the home screen- and for some reason it still shows it as unopened once you've read it i.e. the closed envelope rather then opened.
FYI- you can turn the email notification on the home screen off.
I'm still amazed that there isn't a unified app that brings SMS, Mail, Chat etc all into the same window. So you only have to check in one place for incoming communication. Maybe there's a third party solution out there??
Maybe one of the other Nokia phones has this, E72?

On the home screen on my IPad Air should the number of new emails display? At present I have to go into my mailbox to check if I have any new emails. It would be nice if I was notified from the home screen. Thank you.

  • Skype Offline Email Notifications?

I'm wondering if I have closed the Skype applications from everywhere (phone and computer) if I will receive push email notifications (or an SMS notification for when people send me messages on Skype?

When you are offline notifications get stored in the cloud.  When you sign back in you see/receive them.  There is no read status like there is in Facebook Messaging.  If you require that, then you would want to stick with Facebook.

  • Email notification Z3

Hi Just got my phone yesterday. I dont seem to be able to activate vibration as email notification, escpecially in silent mode. I have searched internet for a solution but havent found anything. I friend who has Z2 has the "vibration option" in his email settings, but I dont.  Anyone? Regards / Marcus

There is another issue more related to "notification". Last week I had an Xperia Z3 compact paired with my Audi MMI in-car system. Upon receiving a new email I would receive an alert on the MMI display. Since changing to a Z3+ this functionality has now disappeared, but still works for text (sms) messages. If I go in to the messages "folder" (within the in-car system, not the phone) I find two of every folder (inbox, sent items, etc.) and contained within one of these folders is the new message; I'm not sure if this something new or even related to the problem?? The original, and most pressing issue however is that there is no notification of a new email message with the Z3+ whereas with the Z3 compact there was. What's changed from one model to the other???

  • Anyone has email notification problem w/ the droid & default email app?

Just want to see if anyone/everyone out there has the same problem getting email notificaiton using default email app for gmail or any other email with all the setting enabled.   (I am not talking about gmail email app)

I just paid my Verizon bill on line but the only problem this time is that for some reason, I never received an email notification of my bill.  I just happened to stumble on my bill on line while I was reading about other information.
I always received the email notification before and I never delete emails like that.
    What's going on?
Interesting......I did receive a notification on 11/11 for my bill due 12/2. I have not received a notification for my bill due 1/1 and I received the 1/1 paper bill today. Just checked my Account Profile and found that the Bill Notifications box was not checked and I think that is the setting that controls the bill notification email (and/or SMS). I have been getting notifications each month for quite a while, so I am guessing some Verizon maintenance update caused the check to be removed. I have activated Bill Notification again so now I guess I just have to wait and see if I get one next month.
I suggest you check your account profile to see if the Bill Notifications setting has somehow been turned off.
Edit: I See you edited your post while I was writing mine.  I do not use paper-free billing so that is one difference.

  • E71 email notifications

I just bought a E71-2 and love it. I have about 4 email accounts (2 yahoo and 2 Gmail) that I need to be notified when I receive emails. There are only two email notification options under the enabled applications in the mode that I am using.
Can there only be automatic email notification on just two accts? This is supposed to be a business phone and I would expect that there be more than two accts that we can be notified on.
    Any suggestions?

I think i have bigger issue then all of u..
Somehow u managed to set up your e-mail accounts...
I did too,i only set up one e-mail account on this phone, that i use for business,so as soon as i got my E71 i set up my e-mail,with user name and password, but when i press mail button it asks me if i wanna connect to mails box..i press yes..then it says Connecting to mailbox...after 3 seconds i hear beep and it says:
    packet data:
    packet data
    connection unavailable
I'm a T-mobile customer and i of course i do have internet package..
I switched to Nokia from Sonny EXPERIA X1,but with X1 i didn't have these problem..
I installed the SIM card, placed the battery in,turned the phone on,and just added my e-mail account to the phone..There weren't any other kind of settings. I understand that E1 has push e-mail so u get your mail just like SMS,but with E71 i'm not able to either go on any web-sites,nor receive my e-mails..
What did i do wrong??? Any help from u guys would be appreciated, because i really like this phone...

  • SharePoint Foundation 2013 installed on Windows Server 2012 not sending out email notification

I have a server where i installed SP Foundation 2013 on top of Windows Server 2012. I have configured the SMTP as well as the outgoing SMTP in Central Administration
of SharePoint. When i create an alert on a document library, its did not sent any email notification on the changes made to the document in the document library. So, i created a workflow to send out email using SPD2013. The workflow run, but it cannot sent
out email with error saying that outgoing email is not configured correctly. I have checked with another server which i installed SP foundation 2013 on top of Windows Server 2008 R2 - its sending out email just fine using same configuration and outgoing SMTP.
I need help to resolve this issue or at least the cause of the problem.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Try below:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/13771.troubleshooting-steps-for-sharepoint-alert-email-does-not-go-out.aspx
Go to Central Admin ---->Operations----->outgoing email settings and verify that SMTP server is mentioned correctly
    2) Test the connectivity with the SMTP server.
In order to do that follow these steps:
      Open  cmd
telnet <SMTP server name> 25 ( We connect smtp server to the port 25)
you should see a response  like this 220 <servername> Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service, Version: 6.0.3790.3959 ready at date and time
Beware that different servers will come up with different settings but you will get something
If you dont get anything then there could be 2 possible reasons, either port 25 is blocked or
the smtp server is not responding.
For testing response from your server
For testing response say ehlo to it.
                            Type :
                                        ehlo <servername>
                            output:
                                        250 <servername> Hello [IP Address]
Now a test mail can be sent from that SharePoint server.
Now we need to enter the From address of the mail.
                          Type :
                           mail from: [email protected]
                           output:
                           250 2.1.0 [email protected]….Sender OK
It's time to enter the recepient email address.
Type : rcpt to: [email protected]
    output:
    250 2.1.5 [email protected]
Now we are left with the data of the email. i.e. subject and body.
    Type : data
    output:
354 Start mail input; end with <CRLF>.<CRLF>
    Type:
subject: this is a test mail
    Hi
    This is test mail body
    I am testing SMTP server.
Hit Enter, then . and then Enter.
    output:
    250 2.6.0 <<servername>C8wSA00000006@<servername>> Queued mail for delivery
    Type: quit
    output:
    221 2.0.0 <servername> Service closing transmission channe
    3)  Check alerts are enabled for your web application
verify if the windows timer service is running or not.
Run this stsadm command to check that
          Stsadm.exe -o getproperty -url http://SharePoint-web-App-URL -pn alerts-enabled
         This should return <Property Exist="Yes" Value="yes" />
If you don’t get this, Enable alerts by:
         stsadm.exe -o setproperty -pn alerts-enabled -pv "true" -url http://SharePoint-web-App-URL
If its already enabled, try turn off and turn on it back.
    4)  Check the Timer job and Properties
           Go to
MOSS 2007:  Central Administration > Operations > Timer Job Definitions (under Global Configuration)
In SharePoint 2010: Central Administration > Monitoring > Review Job Definitions
Check whether the "Immediate Alerts" job is enabled for your web application. check these properties:
                       job-immediate-alerts
                       job-daily-alerts
                       job-weekly-alerts
           stsadm.exe -o getproperty -url "http://Your-SharePoint-web-App-URL" -pn job-immediate-alerts
           The expected output is:
           <Property Exist="Yes" Value="every 5 minutes between 0 and 59"/>.
If you don’t get this, run the following command to set its value.
           stsadm.exe -o setproperty -pn job-immediate-alerts -pv “every 5 minutes between 0 and 59" -url http://Your-SharePoint-web-App-URL
    5)  Check whether the account is subscribed for alerts and it has a valid email account. This should be the first thing to check if the problem persists for some users not for      all.
    6)  Then check if at all those users have at least read permission for the list. Because the first mail should go out for every user without security validation but the next ones       won't be delivered unless the user has at least read
    permission.
    7)  If it is happening for one user, can also try to delete and re add the user in the site.
    8)  Most importantly , you should try this one.
Run this SQL query to the content db < Select * from Timerlock>
This will give you the name of the server which is locking the content database and since when.
In order to get rid of that lock
Go to that server which is locking the content db and then restart the windows timer service.
within some time it should release the lock from content db, if not then at the most stop the timer job for some time
Once the lock will be released then try to send some alerts
You will surely get the email alert.
I found this is the most probable reason for alert not working most of the time. We should start troubleshooting with above steps before coming to this step for any alert email issue but from step 1 to step 7 are best for new environments or new servers.
If the issue is like this ,alert was working before and suddenly stopped working without any environmental change then above conditions in step 1-7 should be ideally fine.
Even after this if it is not working, then you can try these few more steps too
    9)  Try re-registering the alert template:
    stsadm -o updatealerttemplates -url http://Your-SharePoint-Web-App-URL -f  "c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\XML\alerttemplates.xml" -LCID 1033
    10)  Try to clear the configuration cache
If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered
