Starting new SMS conversations with the same person
Hi,
I'm a new iPhone user and there is an annoying SMS behavior that I'd like to ask about. When I attempt to send a new message to someone that I've sent previous messages to-- even when I press the new message button-- it attaches the new message to the previous conversation. What gives? Do I have to delete any previous conversations with a person before I can start a new, clean one? On my BlackBerry I could either reply to an old message to continue that conversation, or start a new one. Can you imagine, after a few weeks of messages back and forth with my wife, how ridiculously long and irrelevant the whole conversation will be?One conversation with each person - at the present time anyway.
If an existing conversation has been started with a particular person, you can't create a new conversation for that person without deleting the existing conversation.
You can use this link to provide Apple your feedback.

Unable to Start R12 Instance adstrtal.sh exiting with status 1
Hi - I am unable to restart my R12 server after successfully shutting it down.
1)
I seem to have the Database and Database Listener up with its respective scripts.
/d01/oracle/vis/db/tech_st/11.1.0/appsutil/scripts/VIS_oracle
su oravis
a) ./addbctl.sh start
b) ./addlnctl.sh start VIS_oracle
But I can't the application script to run.
2)
su applvis
/d01/oracle/vis/inst/apps/VIS_oracle/admin/scripts
./adstrtal.sh applvis/applvis
adstrtal.sh: Database connection could not be established. Either the database is down or the APPS credentials supplied are wrong.
USAGE: adstrtal.sh <appsusername/appspassword>
adstrtal.sh: exiting with status 1
Now, I verified that the applvis password is right because I changed under System --> Administration --> User Groups
The guide I followed mainly to setup my directory is the following:
http://eyeonapps.gendron.ca/?p=12
3)
Now, somewhere I read it could be with the Environment file not being sourced, but where is that file located, I saw a couple of locations, also under what user should I source it as?
Also, is there a way I can give all the users permission to the /d01 directory, to avoid problems like these.
Would appreciate the help to get the apps server running.
Thanks!Hi Guys - I'm returning back to this thread I had, my server was shut down and then I restarted it after a long time.
Note, my Internet/Ip has changed, I had to change the IP in the adapter settings and the etc/host file from 192.160.1.101 to be 192.168.0.101, but I'm having a hard time opening the Login page. I can see the page that says:
"The E-Business Home Page is located at http://oracle.ebs:8000/OA_HTML/AppsLogin
If your browser doesn't automatically redirect to its new location, click here. "
But when I access the login page I get this error:
"Internal Server Error

Please contact the server administrator, ohs_admin@ebs and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

N8, sending MMS stuck with status "deferred" (trie...
I was accidentally trying to send a MMS into email address, and now it's stuck in sending it with status "Deferred". I've tried restarting the phone and setting messages to expire within 1 hour, I tried removing SIM and starting phone without it. I can't simply delete those from the list. Nothing seems to help.
Please help, it also blocks new SMS's from showing in status unless I go into inbox and I think battery is draining faster. Its so simple that Nokia might have thought not worth putting in the manual... lol..

Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
{ sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -Rh $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
The first step should give you usable permissions in your home folder. This step will restore special attributes set by OS X on some user folders to protect them from unintended deletion or renaming. You can skip this step if you don't consider that protection to be necessary.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
resetpassword
That's one word, all lower case, with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select
▹ Restart
from the menu bar. -

SumanI think just for deleting the jobs you can do this only
Scheduling Delete Jobs
To schedule delete jobs, proceed as follows:
1. In the Integration Engine -
> Administration menu, choose Schedule Delete Jobs.
2. Select the job(s) to be scheduled.
3. Specify the start time and date.
4. Specify the period you want to use and choose Schedule.
For an overview of all jobs, choose Jobs. -
The DB version is 11.1.0.7.
The "CATALOG START WITH" not only catalog backup set that are not in the RMAN catalog, but also catalog a second copy for files that are already in the catalog.
Files are not a second copy; they are the same file in the same directory.
Having two copies in the catalog, through an error when deleting explicitly the backups.
We have to add the force clause to avoid the error.
RMAN> delete FORCE backup tag 'offsite-1';
The force clause ignores any I/O error.
The delete is part of our scheduled offsite backup script, which returns a false positive error when the force clause is ommited.
I don't want the force clause, in order to be notify if the backup set that are expected to be on disk are no more there, e.g., if someone had deleted files manually at the OS level bypassing rman.
Is there a way to only catalog backup set not in the catalog?
or May be remove the copy #2 entry from the catalog?
Find bellow a test case example:

Your demo with Oracle 10.2.0.5
At line 36 you answered "No" to "Do you really want to catalog the above files (enter YES or NO)?".
Just repeate your demo and answer Yes.
Even if he might have replied with "YES" then also, the RMAN search for the files which it can recognize as a valid rman backup file. Else it would show the list of files which are not recognized by RMAN as a valid file.
RMAN> catalog start with '/home/oracle/scripts';

About the RMAN catalog, it will not catalog the same file twice. It will only catalog the files which are not known to the database.
See this demo. (/backup/RMAN/STAGING/ is the location where all the backup pieces are.)

We are facing the same kind of problem in our PI 7.0 Development system.
Its J2EE Server node got stuck into a server starting loop.
The error message is as follows.
[Thr 3372] JLaunchISetState: change state from [Starting (2)] to

IDOC is not processing in R/3 with status 64(Urgent)--Production issue.
Dear Folks,
Here we are implementing MIRROR sytem for data extraction in to BIW.
I had gone through the steps in PDF file(How to minimize down thime for Delta Initialization) which has given by SAP.
These are following steps I had performed in BW production
1. Using RSADMIN transcation- Assigned one user as a Debugging user.
2. With the Debugging user Created one infopackage on Purhcasing ITM datasource--
In data selection tab, I given date as from 2002 to 2003
In Update tab, I selected update mode as Initialize Delta process- without data transfer and Uncheck Update Data in master system immediately
In schedule tab I selected option Start Data load immediately then Start extraction.
3.Data was requested and It was intialized properly with green status 1 from 1 Records.
4. In details tab Request, Extraction, transfer(IDOC and TRFC), Processing everything in Green color.
5.As per document I have checked in R/3 for IDOC with status 64 using transaction BD87/WE05
Problem is that IDOC is not processing in R/3 system. for that IDOC I have checked in BW montior screen using the option <b>IDOC list in Source sytem</b>, here also it is not showing any IDOCs.
Please let me know why BW sytem is not sending any IDOCs to source sytem. Is there any settings I could have miss in BW aswell as in R/3 system.
Note: In BW production I successfully loaded master data from R/3. aswell as I triggered infopackage-Initialization with data transfer, it is showing IDOC number properly in R/3 system.
Points is Assured for all replies.Hi,
- check you RFC destination (normal test + authorization test)
- Check you partner profiles in WE20 and its ports WE21
- from the source system tree (RSA13) right click your source system and perform a check
- the best is to restore your source R/3 source system from BW (right click on it ans select RESTORE); you'll need to be able to log in the source system as an admin as well as opening the source system for customizing in SCC4 so that BW can recreate the correct partner parameters automatically; the best is to do that with your basis group.
hope this helps,
Olivier. -
Error in idoc with status 20 "Error triggering EDI Subsystem"
Dear All,
I have query related to IDOC Status 20.
I am tirggering IDOC with standard t-code from IS-Retail system. I have created two ports a) TRFC port and b)File port .
<b>We are having sending and receiveing application on two different OS i.e one XI on Windows and IS Retail on AIX(Unix). I am not able to send idoc to another system. I am getting these IDOC status in WE05 (STATUS 01 , 30 , 03 , 20 )</b>
Keeping the above fatcs in mind could you please tell me how to remove the <b>error with status 20 "Error triggering EDI Subsystem".</b>Hi prabhat,
You should have checked the automatic triggering possible at the file port level and the partner profile setting could be 'start subsytem'.
Go to WE21 and do the access test for the file port.
Once you done and find no issues then go to SM59 and test the connection for the RFC destination assigned to the ports.Possibly it has to do with the RFC destination.
Other reasons could be yours is a test client and got refreshed recently.so the production client settings might be causing this error.Check with your basis to get it working.
other reason could be the logical system assigned to the client should be having production client's name.
Check these.
I am sure you should be able to solve this issue.
Thank you.

JIMI 1.0 causes JVM to stop with status 129 under Linux
Hello,
I'm using JIMI 1.0 for manipulating JPEG-images in my web-application. Each time the servlet is performing this manipulation, the JVM stopps with status 129 (this is, what the bash is telling me) after a few seconds.
The image itself seems to be ok, cause the Browser is able to display the response of the servlet. The response itself is written into a ServletOutputStream.
Sending a JPEG without manipulation works well.
First the JVM was missing the symbol-font:
"Font specified in font.properties not found [--symbol-medium-r-normal--*-%d-*-*-p-*-adobe-fontspecific]"
I installed a symbol.ttf from the internet and thought, this will solve the problem - but not! Only this message didn't appear any longer, but the JVM still stopps.
Webserver-Configuration:
SUSELinux 9.2 Prof. = Linux(2.6.24-default)
JVM 1.3.1
tomcat 4.1.31
JIMI 1.0
RAM: 192 MB
I'm just started to work with Linux, so I'm not quite sure, that my System is well configured, cause with a Win98-system this problem didn't occur.
This issue prevents my project from starting and I really want to get over it!
Thank you in advance.Thank your for the reply.
It seems to be just DNS, but I can't be sure - no time to test this on a production system. Pings to internet IP's work.
For instance, manually setting 8.8.8.8 DNS on a machine behind the NAT doesn't work, but ping 8.8.8.8 works fine.
Version seems to be one of the older mainline 12.4 releases.

If it's just a weird bug of an old IOS release, I guess we'll never know -
Hello All
We have a server 2008 R2 HyperV server and during the last few months it started to reboot randomly.
Initially we thought its related to the issue fixed by the following hotfix so we applied it but even with the hotfix it still keeps rebooting.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2732595
Unlike what's mentioned in the hotfix , the faulting module is not "ntdll.dll" but "msvcrt.dll".Also came up with the following indication the reboots could be related to KB2871997 but that update is not installed
on this system.
