SNP Capacity View - Graph

Hi,
I am doing APO SNP heuristic planning. I have 2 months of weekly buckets and remaining monthly buckets for a 1 year horizon.
When I view the capacity in graphical form (which appears in monthly buckets), the monthly capacity for the first 2 months is appearing as a weekly capacity (1/4 of monthly capacity).
Any one has a solution to this issue?
Also, what do the numbers at the bottom of the chart indicate?
You can view the graph in link below:
http://picasaweb.google.com/v.vaidhya/WorkRelated

the numbers in the bottom indicate the quarter... 1st quarter of 2008 = 1.08
your graph will show what you have as planning buckets in the data view.
try this-
right click on the chart (where these numbers appear) >> choose format axis>> go to Scale tab >> change the options for major and minor axis to weeks
you can also change the way the periods are labelled there

  • SNP Capacity view - Wrong Capacity consumption

    Dear All,
Our client facing this critical issue..
In our scenario we have SNP and PPDS are using for planning, issue is related SNP Capacity view..
PPDS orders (firmed planned order, process orders) are not reflecting properly in SNP Capacity view , issues are we can put it into two category
    Category 1
We are running PPDS planning run for 3 week , at every Wednesday , after the PPDS planning run, if you check in PPDS DS board or Resource utilization report, we can see the resource are consumed say 87%, but when we you check the same in SNP Capacity view you may see only 60% or like, from the detailed analysis it came to know that some of the products are reflecting in SNP Capacity view, this is only with PPDS planned order or process orders , SNP planned orders are consumed properly in SNP Capacity view (this analyzed with respect  to deployment view, (PPDS order also reflecting properly in Deployment view) ( Production confirmed)) because of this wrong data user not able to take proper decision from SNP Capacity view.
    Category 2
Scenario is same as previous one, here some time later (say for example next day) some of the products  are reflecting in SNP Capacity view. This occurring randomly.
Can any one guide me , what would be the reason for this
From our end we done following activities
1)analyzed the master data didn't find any issue
    2) Constancy check done for LiveCache and Planning area
    Thanks in advance

  • SNP Capacity View: browsing by product

    Hi,
I have a question related to the usage of the standard SNP capacity view SNP94(2). What I would like the users to be able to do is:
    - select a resource and check the capacity consumption situation
    - then drilldown into the products to be able to see which products are loading this resource
I've tried to do this, but it seems it doesn't work, that is, my header has two characteristics: APO resource (which is showing the currently reviewed resource) and APO product; however when I click on APO Product to see the list of underlying product nothing happens.
I had the impression reading I try to load the data in SNP capacity data view i,m getting the error that this is linked to the absence of certain key figures from certain aggregates. Can somebody confirm and maybe indicate a solution?
    Best Regards
    Jean-Louis

    Hi,
First check in //RRP3, whether source assignment and resource name appearing correctly for the order. as such only SNP orders ( with APO application 4 ) will be displayed in data view. if you want to display PPDS orders also you have to modify the aggregates at //MSDP_ADMIN.
In data view after loading the resource you can see the capacity consumption values in TOP grid and order values in Second grid.
If you drill down by Header --> APO product --> capacity consumption values based on the product will appear.
If you click on display dependent objects ( icon ) by product / PPM --> respective orders will appear. After drilldown you can create new order also.
you can select existing order and right click to display order details .

  • Error /SAPAPO/TSM227 in APO SNP capacity view

    I am using APO V5.1.
In an SNP capacity view (copied from SAP standard 9ASNP94 view but modified with some bespoke key figures), I have error /SAPAPO/TSM227 (Key figure not available for selection) when I do the following:
    - open the view
    - select a resource
    - drill down by product (or by dependent objects, by product)
    - save
Can anyone advise on the cause and correction of this error?
    Thanks...

    Hi,
This error is due to missing keyfigure assignments in some aggregtes eg 9AMAPR,9AMALO,9AMALA.So make sure that
you assigned the kefigures to aggregates correctly .

  • Should PPDS orders consume capacity in the SNP Capacity view in 9ASNP94?

    Dear Gurus
Should PPDS orders consume capacity in the Capacity View in 9ASNP94?
We currently only use PPDS, but are looking to implement SNP for mid-range planning and S&OP.  I would like to demonstrate the simplicity of the capacity view in SNP, but the planned orders in PPDS do not consume the capacity of the Resource in the standard planning book/view SNP94(2).  We are using Single mixed production resources which I thought were suitable for both PPDS and SNP planning.  This is a particular concern because I would expect that the SNP and PPDS horizons will have to cross over and so PPDS and SNP will have to take into account the capacity consumed by orders in the other module.
    Any help will be appreciated!
    Elamobel

If you are using PDS you probably need this BADI:
Note 657185 - RTO: Sample code for calculating bucket consumptions 4.0
As standard only the continuous consumption is maintained in the PDS by the CIF, the bucket consumption (which is the SNP view of capacity) is missing.
Check the related notes too (especially 1462965)
If you are using PPMs you can just maintain the missing data directly

  • Selecting groups of products in SNP capacity view

In SNP interactive planning, I see that the 'capacity view' is typically showing data by resource.
But if one chooses 'drilldown' in the shuffler, one can see the resource load by individual product.
But is there a way of seeing the resource load for a 'group' of products? I tried using the 'extra fields' on the product master, and using one of these fields as 'product group' I can see in the drilldown the relevant products, but I cannot find a way of seeing the resource laod for this group of products (I can only see the load product by product).
    Any ideas on this?

    Gaurav,
Thanks for your response on this.
Yes, I can see that I can select one or more products.
But what I really want to do is to be able to select all products belonging to a 'product group', where, for example, the 'product group' for a product is defined on the product master (for example via one of the 'extra' fields). So, rather than having to select products individually, I can select 'product group x', and the system will bring back the data for the proucts in 'product group x'.
    Any thoughts on this?

  • Consumption of storage capacity in in SNP capacity view

    Hi Experts,
when I check a storage resource in the capacity view the key figure "Capacity Consumption" (9ACACON) is displayed.
Could anybody please explain how is this key figure calculated?
This does not take place in a macro - I think this is related to the assigned key figure function done in the planning area customizing. The key figure "quantity stored" (9ASTOCK) has the key figure function "6007 Storage Quantity with Resource Consumption". Therefore the amount stored in this key figure (and other key figures with the function 6007 assigned) consumes the capacity.
I want to check capacity consumption of the projected stock in the future which is only calculated in auxiliary key figure u201CStock on Hand (Projected)u201D. This key figure has also function 6007 assigned.
    So I assume that
    a) the calculation of capacity consumption takes place by the key figure function - How specifically?
    b) if I create a new (non auxiliary) key figure where the projected stock is stored in the consumption is correctly calculated?
    Looking forward to your answers!
    Julian

    Hi julian,
let me rephrase what I said above:
When I say:"the capacity consumption for storage capacity is not based on projected stock but on the orders": I mean:
The capacitiy consumption calculation is not based on the proejcted stock key figure.Instead the storage quantity is calculated based on initial stock, receipt AND demand.
This should give the same result, but what I meant is: I don't think that the changes you have done for the projected stock have any impact on the storage capacity consumption.
In you case it looks like the result is based only on receipt as you mentioned, but to be honest even that look wrong (something arriving on day x should consume the storage untill it is removed and send somewhere else, and not only on the date of arrival)
Note the standard data view 9ASNP94/SNP94(2) - the capacity view- does NOT contain the projected stock key figure.
What you want to see is correct: in standard it should work! (except that it is not based on the projected stock key figure itself, but it is recaculated...)
Did you check if the standard view 9ASNP94/SNP94(2) was showing the right result?
I asked you:" How your system behave with other order types (e.g ditribution demand, production...) "
I meant: when you have a distribution demand, is your capacity consumption reduced?
    Thanks and Regards
    Julien

  • SNP Heuristic - Capacity View

I am using standard SNP heuristic planning book. On capacity view, we can see the resource consumption and Demand quantity of products that are loading these resources.
Requirement is to see the Resource consumption by Product (not demand quantity).
For example, Product A demand 100 units, needs resource X - 0.5 per unit
    Product B demand 300 units, needs resource X  - 0.25 per unit
In resource view, we can see total resource consumption of 125. We can also see Product A demand 100 and Product B demand 300.
But requirement is to see total consumption of 125 and drill down to see Product A consuming 50 and Product B consuming 75.
Any ideas? (We can do a complex compute using the PPM information in the resource drill down. Is there a better option?)

    Hi,
I have resolved this issue, but couldnt write earlier.
But I figured out the drill down from header or 'show dependant objects' behave differently. I had drilled down through 'show dependant objects' ealier which was showing the demand by product.
When I drilled down from header, I could see the resource consumption by product.
    Thanks for responses!

  • SNP Planning book capacity view -APO Product is blank in drill down

    Hi Experts,
I am getting product blank when I am doing Header on/off drill down setting. Even when I am choosing Products from Display dependent objects, It drill down the second grid (Quantity View) and product is blank.
Please let me know if anybody faced the same issue before. We are using version SCM 5.1
    Thanks & regards,
    Hitesh

    Hi,
In the standard SNP planning area 9ASNP02, the relevant KF in Capacity view is  9ACASUP .
There may be a conflict identified between selection and key figures to be read.
You can choose a different selection condition or change to a different data view, and check if ti comes out correctly.

  • SNP - Capacity Leveling question

    Hi All:
I am trying to do Capacity leveling in one resource and for one material.
After CIFing the material, resource, location and BOM (PDS), I entered some forecast for the specific material in DP and released it to SNP.
Then I ran the product heuristics and when I looked at the planning book 9ASNP94 and Data View SNP94 I noticed that the capacity utilization where more than 100 % in some periods.
Next I executed the 'Capacity leveling button'. and entered the following parameters and executed.
    Combined Scheduling
    100 % max util
    Product priority
    Ascending
    Heuristics Method
    All Relevant Resources
In the Log checked all the three options
The log comes out as follows:
Green status on Resource and Parameters
Yellow status and 'Resource xxxx not used in any PPM/PDS'
    Red status Resource utilization
I checked the PDS for the resource xxxx and i found it to be there.
When I go back to the Capacity view the leveling has not happened.
What am I doing wrong?  Pl. help.
    Thanks
    Narayanan

    Hi Narayanan,
I think there should be any issue. I hope You selected the data view snp94(2), and loaded your resource in the planning book.  then You executed the 'Capacity leveling button' in the planning Book, Right? Try without checking the 'consider alternative resource' check box, and dont give any priority in your capacity levelling profile.
    Thanks,

  • Capacity Consumption in SNP Capacity Planning Book

    Hi,
Can someone let me know how the Capacity Consumption KF(9ACACON)  is calculated in the SNP Capacity Planning Book.
No macor is associated with the KF. But when i load the data in specific to a resource it gives me some value in the Capacity Consumption KF.
Is there any option to identify the calculation logic of this KF ?
    Regards
    BVN

    Hi
There is no formula as such, it depends on the master data settings in your resource. In transaction /sapapo/res01 you can display the Capacity but how exactly depends on what type of resource you are using and how the capacity is calculated, basically you can have:
    Time-Continuous capacity
    PP/DS Bucket Capacity
    SNP Bucket Capacity
And they can also have different values!
For the SNP View it should be using the SNP Bucket Capacity, so if you click on this tab in your resource master data it should have a field "Bucket Definition" which can either be from Continuos Capacity or be maintained separately. If you click the button "Bucket Capacity" it should show you the current values you have.
If it is from Cont Capacity then click that tab and see the start, end and break times there.
To add a little confusion, you may also have several variants of capacity, the active variant is on the General Data tab, this is the capacity variant that should show up as standard capacity in your planning book.
There is more to it all than this but hopefully that should help answer your qeustion.
    Regards

  • Use of BADI for SNP capacity levelling

    I am using APO V5.1.
I'm interested in using the Business Add in (BADI) for SNP capacity levelling.
Can anyone tell me which BADI this is, and the possible functionality it can provide?
Thanks for any information on this...

To give you a couple of examples of what we use the BADi for:
    1) Based on a product characteristic, the levelling will only level certain products. E.g. you could set a characteristic to mark products for internal use versus export use and then level the internal requirements first.
    2) The levelling will only level planned production for highlighted orders in the data view.
    Hope that helps for ideas
    Regards

  • Resource still showing Product in Capacity view even when the PDS is deleted

    Hello,
I have a Material which had 2 PDSes sometime back. PDS1 has Resource1 and PDS2 has Resource 2. Some time back PDS2 was deleted(version also deleted from ECC). So, now the Material has only one source of Supply PDS1(with Resource 1). There are no open orders of the past which were on PDS2 or say, resource 2. So basically Resource 2 should now have no connection with Material.
However, when I load Resource 2 in Capacity View and drill down at Product Level, I can still see the said Material in the list with other materials(for which Resource 2 is still valid). Not sure why the Material would now appear there. Also, when i try to create any order for this material in Capacity view for resource 2, it says- No valid PDS/PPM available-which is fine, but why would the material appear there in the first place?
This is happening for many other materials as well.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Kunal

    Hi Cyrille..
Thanks for the reply! You are bang on..
The only catch here is that we do have a cons check program running every day which was not correcting the issue..but when i ran it manually, the issue got corrected automatically....
The only difference between the job run manually and the one running daily in background is that the background run has parallel processing profile assigned to it while i ran it manually without any PPP..
I guess PPP is the reason it was not happening
    Thanks,
    Kunal

  • SNP: How to "lock" initial column in SNP data view (SCM7.0 / SP8)

    Hello experts,
after a change from SCM5.0 to SCM7.0 we are seeing a change in a tiny but very important capability and we are trying to re-establish it in SCM7.0. If somebody has an idea how to address this that would be of great help:
As of SCM5.0 users were able to lock the INITIAL column of an SNP DataView so that the column is the default start column and not the next future column. In SCM5.0 the solution had 2 elements
    A) set a user parameter in SU01 called /SAPAPO/SDP_STARTCOL to value X
    +
    B) double-click the header of the initial column in the SNP data view
As of SCM7.0 this is not supported anymore. There is a certain user setting in an SNP data view (Settings --> Others --> "Period from last selection"  ) but this is not behaving to our needs and SAP is saying what we want from SCM5.0 is a non-supported feature in SCM7.0.
So, does anybody have an idea how to solve this. I checked UserExits and BAdis in SPRO for interactive planning - there all kind of stuff but nothing having a method to allow / perform a "column locking" in an SNP Data view. Thanks for any tip or hint here.
    Regards
    Thomas

    Hello jejeje,
thanks for your efforts - what you describe is something users have found out on our side too - a problem remains: you can save this setting "Period from last Selection" and it brings you to the INITIAL column but: once you have scrolled forward in the SNP data view (so that the INITIAL column has disappeared) and you leave the SNP data view or select another product ... it "remembers" that you last time left the data view NOT having INITIAL column as a start column.
So, my users say that they scroll back to INITIAL column before selecting another part or using another SelectionID or leaving the SNP data view ... and of course they hate this since they have to do this a few hundred times a day worse case.
We had a call open to SAP on this and I told them that is about productivity and usabaliity issue moving from SCM5.0 to SCM7.0 - but they have nothing more to say than "not supported anymore" - and the ultimate solution is / will be to modifiy SAP SCM standard coding - unless somebody from SAP is reading the discussioons here and is dedicated to help their customers which pay millions every year into SAP support fees.
Thanks for your responses and effort !
    Regards
    Thomas

  • Partial Capacity consuption in capacity view - Table 1

    Hi all,
When I see the capacity consumption for a particular product in capacity view, Table 1; it is exactly half the quantity of the pur. req. that is generated. The pur. req. quantity for this product is correct in capacity view, Table 2. The resource is a transportation resource.
This is happening for one particular product. Is this some master data problem?
