SOAP encoding gzip + base64

Hi Experts,
I have a scenario where I have a SOAP receiver that accepts only messages with gzip compact and base64 encoding, in this order. That means I must first compact the message with gzip and then convert this result into base64 encoding.
I tried to do so using the SOAP default module (XISOAPAdapterBean) with this configuration parameters:
XMBWS.Encoding = gzip
XMBWS.TransferEncoding = base64
XMBWS.XMLEncoding = base64
When I run that configuration, however, the following error occurs in the processing (viewed via sxmb_moni):
com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.UnsupportedEncodingException: base64
Are the parameters correct?
Can I see the sequence of the operations (compact and encode)?
Is there anyway to configure this sequence?
Any other sugestions?
Thanks

Hi,
After delete the line "XMBWS.XMLEncoding = base64", the server began to return this error: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.IOException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/PLAIN; HTTP 415 Unsupported Media Type
I made another test, configuring the parameters according to the guides, like this:
XMBWS.XMLEncoding = charset iso-8859-1
XMBWS.TransferEncoding = base64
XMBWS.Encoding = gzip
XMBWS.AcceptEncoding = compress, gzip
But the same error occurs: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.IOException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/PLAIN; HTTP 415 Unsupported Media Type
Is there anyway to check the operations sequence (first compact then encode)?

    Is there anyway to create a RPC/SOAP-Encoded Web Service with Workshop ? There is an "encoding" attribute in the autotype ant task but no corresponding properties in Workshop.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reference.
    I have checked both in the wsdl and the Soap message,
    rpc property effectively means rpc/encoded. Now that
    would say that RPC/Literal is not supported ?
    Here are what the messages looks like with rpc and

  • Help: URL encoded in Base64 not working with SP4

    With SP1, there was no problem but after installing SP4 (don't know whether it is accidental), this problem started occurring and I don't know what caused it. Here is the description:
    I have SP4 running on Solaris 8. An applet is launched and sends a servlet request to the server where the URL is encoded in Base64 (Post method) for some additional data. The servlet receives the request and attempts to decode the received URL since the parameters contain relevant info. While trying to decode the base64 parameter string back into Unicode, I see an exception:
    [23/Oct/2002:14:59:54] failure ( 6684): Internal error: exception thrown from the servlet service function (uri=/reports1/savereport): java.io.EOFException, Stack: java.io.EOFException
    at java.io.DataInputStream.readFully (DataInputStream.java:158)
    at java.io.DataInputStream.readUTF(DataInputStream.java:526)
    at java.io.DataInputStream.readUTF(DataInputStream.java:496)
    at com.xxxxxx.utils.Base64.decodeUnicodeString(Base64.java:236)
    My assumption is that the byte ordering may have been altered to cause this failure, but the Solaris OS version and the client machine's configuration did not change. Nothing else changed except the iPlanet version, which used to work otherwise.
    Has anyone seen this or does anyone know how to correct it? Will appreciate your response! Thanks in advance.

    HI ,
    I have a BPEL process calling a external web service (which takes String as input and returns String[] as output). It is working fine with 10,1,2. When i tried to migrate to 10,1.3 (install 10.1.3.1 and upgrade that to 10.1.3.3 using the patch)project i got following error while compiling bpel module using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3 (10.1.2 bpel is migrated to 10.1.3.3) .bpel is calling external webservice having <attribute ref="soapenc:arrayType" wsdl:arrayType="xsd:string[]" />

    Hi Didier,
    I did some more experimenting and I think the problem is somewhere in skins.
    I downloaded "mycompany" and "limerone" skin from WebCenter page.
    Now the problem appears only if I use mycompany or limerone skin and only with firefox2.0.
    In JDeveloper visual editor after deleting oracle-desktop-10_1_3_X_0-en-ie-6-windows-s.css problem is solved and also with IE I have no problem. Also no problem if I use "oracle" skin with firefox2.0.
    please try it (new skins + FF) and you will see...
    thanks,

  • Using the Soap Encoding schema within an XSD

    Hi,
    I am trying to create some XSDs based on the types from the auto-generated WSDLs in JDeveloper. However, I find that while the Array type works fine in the WSDL, I cannot seem to get it validate correctly in my XML schemas, possibly due to some namespace error.
    The current code in the XSD is given as:
    <xsd:schema
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"
    xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">
    <xsd:import namespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"/>
    <xsd:import namespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"/>
    <xsd:complexType name="VesselQueryResult">
    <xsd:all>
    <xsd:element name="vesselNames" type="ArrayOfjava_lang_String"/>
    </xsd:all>
    </xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:complexType name="ArrayOfjava_lang_String">
    <xsd:complexContent>
    <xsd:restriction base="SOAP-ENC:Array">
    <xsd:attribute ref="SOAP-ENC:arrayType" wsdl:arrayType="xsd:string[]"/>
    </xsd:restriction>
    </xsd:complexContent>
    </xsd:complexType>
    When I tried to add this XSD using as a user schema, however, below validation error is being displayed:
    Error: Line 0, Column 0: Invalid reference: 'http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/:Array'
    I tried to qualify the SOAP-ENC namespace with the schemaLocation, but another error was displayed:
    <xsd:import namespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
    schemaLocation="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"/>
    oracle.xml.parser.schema.XSDException: Server returned HTTP response code: 407 for URL: http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/
    I am wondering how JDeveloper supports the SOAP-ENC schema for use in XSDs. Do I need to add the Soap Encoding schema as a user schema, or is there a way I might reference it similar to the way that auto-generated WSDLs seem to deal with it? Any information regarding this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you and regards.

    I deleted the two lines of coding below:
    utl_http.set_proxy('www-proxy', NULL);
    utl_http.set_persistent_conn_support(TRUE);
    and then I set the utl_http.set_persistent_conn_support() to False to get that error message. Seems like the website in question doesnt have the webservice anymore because the error has to do with the parsing of the WSDL file.... which probrably doesnt exist.
    Im just trying to get a working example of using a third party webservice to return a value to be displayed in the database.... know of any good examples? The ones im using seem to be pretty out dated... the barnes and nobles example just times out....

  • Soap encoded array of complex type, impossible to map?

    Hello,

    Thanks in advance!

    I am having this issue as well.
    From:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/ce993b45cb0a85e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
    I see that:
    The WSDL document in rpc-style format must also not use any soapenc:Array types; these are often used in SOAP code in documents with this format. soapenc:Array uses the tag <xsd:any>, which the Integration Builder editors or proxy generation either ignore or do not support.
    You can replace soapenc:Array types with an equivalent <sequence>; see the WS-I  example under http://www.ws-i.org/Profiles/BasicProfile-1.0-2004-04-16.html#refinement16556272.
    They give an example of what to use instead.
    Of course I have been given a WSDL that has a message I need to map to that uses the enc:Array.
    Has anyone else had this issue?  I need to map to a SOAP message to send to an external party.  I don't know what they are willing to change to support what I can do.  I changed the WSDL to use a sequence as below just to pull it in for now.
    Thanks,
    Eric

  • SOAP Encoding and the real need

    I just read the below from the site here-
    SOAP encoding has fallen out of favor in the Web services community. It is not supported by the WS-I basic profile. So JAX-WS, as the latest incarnation of Java Web services, has disallowed SOAP encoding. JAX-RPC supports SOAP encoding, so if you really must use SOAP encoded messages, stick with JAX-RPC.
    I am new to Web Services and am familiar with DOC/Literal only.
    Why will anyone want to create a "new" Web service in Encoded format?
    What was the real need SOAPEncoding has served when there is a separate standard named XML Schema?
    Just curious to explore-

    Hello,
    The WS-I work constrains the various web service specification to a
    functional subset that exhibit the greatest degree of interoperability;
    certainly there are many other features (quality of service, security,
    attachments, etc.) that are provided by WebLogic web services; this does
    not negate the fact that BP 1.0 compliance can be easily achieved.

  • Interop - soap encoding vs. literal

    Hi, I'm just curios if there are any opinions on this out there.
    I attended an Web Service Interop seminar last week and the speaker
    suggested that people focus on type "literal" as it interoperates better.
    BEA folks agree/disagree?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Personally, I agree. The main advantage of soap encoding is the ability
    to represent object graphs, as opposed to trees.

  • Encoding using BASE64

    Hi All,
    i required some sample code for encoding using BASE64 encoding.
    can any one please help in doing the code for encoding a text.
    Thanks in advance.

    There are quite a few examples of Base64 encoders and decoders on the web. I didn't see any written in Obj-C or coded with a Cocoa interface, but perhaps you might find one if you spend some time searching.
    The example code you have is pure ANSI C, which means it can be added to any Xcode iPhone project as a separate file, wrapped into its own Obj-C class, or simply added to an existing class implementation. Since you only need to encode a short string, you'll only need the encode() and encodeblock() functions, along with the cb64[] array. encode() is expecting stdio FILE pointers for input and output, so you'll want to replace those parameters and the code which reads and writes from/to those streams with code that reads a C string (obtained from a NSString with UTF-8 encoding) and returns a NSData object.
    If you're not a C programmer, you will need to get some help from one, but it should be an easy job. Of course you should review the MIT license to make sure you're in compliance. But the reason I selected this example for you is that it's so well documented, it will teach you everything you need to know to write your own code from scratch if you need to.

    Hi mdrake,
    I saw your answer on the other thread :)
    I know about the 32K limitation; that's why I need to store the decoded CLOB in another CLOB, as bigger documents will often be the case. I've been reading about this for a while, to no avail.
    Do you believe BASE64_DECODE_CLOB could be changed to return CLOB rather than VARCHAR2? Regards,
    Georger

  • Java Crypto - X.509 Certificate - DER encoded to Base64

    How to convert DER encoded X.509 Certificate to Base64 encoded X.509 Certificate?

    One way is to use the keytool utility supplied with the jdk. My keystore is already set up so you may have some additional steps beyond what I show below.
    First import the DER encoded certificate
    keytool -import -alias tempaliasname -file file.der(you will be prompted for the keystore password)
    Then export to Base64
    keytool -export -alias tempaliasname -file file.cer -rfc(you will be prompted for the keystore password)
    That will give you the Base64 version of your certificate.
    You can use the keytool -delete command to delete the key from your keystore if you want.

  • How to hanlde SOAP with gzip

    Hello,
    For a client we have to implement (de)compression into (SOAP) Web Services.
    We receive/send SOAP messages with compressed data (some 2MB, which is uncompressed some 75MB). The (de)compression needs to be done with gzip.
    What is the Oracle solution for handling this type of functionality?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards Leon

    I want to secure the message between my web service and a Automated activity in SAP Netweaver BPM (Process
    development). I think in this case the usage of of SOAP adapter may not be useful.
    Security parameters (settings) can be defined for Sender SOAP Adapter (as in your case it is)......to know more check this help section: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/EN/fc/5ad93f130f9215e10000000a155106/content.htm
    Check the section: Define Security Parameters.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.
