Hi all..I just passed my 200-120 exam 2Monts ago and I just revived email from Cisco about the certification..Now I am wondering whether to choose the soft copy or hard copy for the certificate..Can anyone recommend me which to choose.

Please make backup before applying this type of reset, since it will restore the phone’s settings to factory default as well as erasing all the data in the phone memory.
1st option
Soft Reset (when you CAN still use the phone's touchscreen)
You need to use the touchscreen dialer to enter this code: *#7370
Press Select.
Voila, your phone is back to normal.
Congratulations.
Last option
Hard Reset (if you CANNOT use anymore the phone's touchscreen)
You need to use the phone's buttons and your 4 fingers to do this trick.
Switch off the phone. (Remove the battery if you cannot turn it off)
Press the buttons: GREEN + RED + CAMERA + ON simultaneously (DO NOT LET GO OF THE BUTTONS) until you see the “Select Country” option after the Nokia's Handshake Welcome Logo appear.
Choose your country, enter the date and time.
Voila, your phone is back to normal.
Congratulations.

Soft and hard allocation

Hi,
I know we can soft allocate and hard allocate the resourse for the task in cProjects.
Can anybody tell me , where can I get the entry for soft and hard allocate BP in the SAP table.
I know ,. this report is available in xRPM with BI integration.
But is there any SAP table where I can get the the list of soft and hard allocation , so that with the help of SAP query we can write the report.

Great soft and hard case for Nano

While you wait for the official Nano cases to be produced - here's an idea that works.
I use the soft and hard case that came with my Oakley shades, for the Nano.
The inside case is a microfiber bag, that keeps the surface from scratching, and is perfect for cleaning the screen of finger prints.
The hard case is a black torpedo shaped zip case, made for the 'wire' series Oakley frames.
Perfect fit for the Nano in it's bag, and really great protection.

Back-up and hard copy of tags etc for photos

One of the things I use PE7 (and its predecessors) for is to keep track of the contact sheets I make of my film negatives. Each sheet has a number, date and a number of tags that allow me to find all the photos taken on a particular date with a particular subject. Is it possible to make a hard copy of all the information I have on each contact sheet? I want to store the hard copy in the same binders as I keep the original contact sheets. The negatives and contact sheets will last for quite a few generations, and I'd like to keep all the information together for whomever may be interested in these pictures at some far-off future date (I know, presumptuous of me to think anybody might be, but just in case).

I'm not clear on precisely what form you want the hard copy, but PSE doesn't provide you any way to get a list of tags and photos that you could put into another program, e.g. Word. However, the free utility psedbtool will dump out an Excel spreadsheet containing the contents of your catalog, including filenames, lists of tags and albums, etc.:

Icloud and hard copy ?

Is it possible to backup contacts on Icloud and also have a hard copy ?
I have recently had a very disturbing experince with iCloud. I started using it to have my contacts online and sync with my phone and computer.
long story short had my contacts deleted. ok now what. as there si no back up on the icloud, apple said that there was nothing they could do.
I was happy that I found a older back up of my contacts and emidiatly stopped using icloud. To risky not having a back up at all.
So my question is there a way I can have a back up on my computer and still using icloud so I don not have to hard wire my phone to get them transfered ?

I am a bit confused. iCloud is my default calendar and contacts for all my devices because like JustJesper I got duplicates if not. I back up to time machine. So if iCloud loses all my contacts and calendars, will TM have stored events and contacts - gvien that iCloud is the default calendar. I guess where I get confused is the line about these events also being on my Macbook which I back up. Are they essentally duplicated on the MacBook as well as the cloud in which case TM does capture them?
In the event of iCloud losing my data, and I can back up from TM, then would TM restore to the Mac in a location that would sync to the cloud and hence restore across my devices?

Help! soft and hard lockups are driving me nuts

Hey guys and gals I'm having a very annoying problem and Its very bizarre.
I hope this problem hasn't already been covered a million times but...
I'm getting lockups in a lot of apps.. Firefox, openoffice, gaim and its just like my system becomes lagged or something. Its never happened before. Happens especially when I use text fields and scroll around and use bookmarks in Firefox. OpenOffice hardly runs anymore.
Before you ask, its not a memory or cpu usage problem, I sit on a max of 90mb/439mb and I never get high cpu usage when these stalls happen. I also don't see any error messages from the programs.
As I noted before.. its something funny with text input, I notice it especially with leafpad where I no longer get a vertical line that shows where my text is up to. Also as I'm typing this it isn't blinking.
Woah, weird. I think its somehow related to nedit being open. I've been using it pretty constantly the last couple of days and I've had it open while I've had other programs open. Maybe its stealing the cursor from other programs and causing them to halt?
Bizarre.
I'll do some more testing.
If anyone has heard of anything like this please inform me.

I have it too, and know exactly what causes it...
If you copy text in Nedit, Firfox will sort of freeze. My personal workaround is to avoid copying and only use selection as muhc as possible when I want to use both. But when copying anything in Nedit anyway I just click on the locationbar (or ctrl+l), do shift+left/rightarrow to select some text and then copy that with ctrl+c, to overwrite Nedit's copy and solve the problem.
Apparently there aren't that many Nedit users, as I never read about it before. I thought I was the only one having this problem. I hope it goes away when I update everything, if not I'll need to look into it.

What is the difference between soft and hard quitting ?

I'm wondering what the difference between soft quitting (double tapping the home button, press and holding an app until the red circle thing pops up and then pressing that on all the apps) and hard quitting (holding the lock button until slide to power off comes up and then holding the home button until you return to the home screen) is, any answers will be greatly appreciated

There is no soft or hard quitting.
There is powering off and on.
There is a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release. This is similar to a computer restart.
Quitting an app is quitting an app, but very few apps run in the background.

Logo Visible in Print Preview, but not in pdf and hard copy

Hi,
We have uploaded a logo to be shown in the footer. We are able to see the logo in the print preview, but when we print the invoice (SAP Script), it is not seen in the hard copy. We tried by saving it as a pdf, even in the pdf, it is not displayed.
We are on SAP 4.7
Please help.

Am not sure what the exact issue could be, but i am expecting there may not be sufficient space to fit the logo. I suggest you to check the output by placing the logo in header whether its coming or not in hardcopy, that may help you.

Soft and hard reset for time machine doesn't seem to work does anyone have suggestions?

I have tried to use a soft reset according to the language on the apple site by using a pin to push the button for a second even up to a minute but it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone have any suggestions for either a hard or soft reset? I did get a new router Netgear wireless extreme thus I'm only using the time capsule portion instead of the wireless router.

Very Poor Quality of Soft and Hard Cover Books in UK

I recently had 2 soft cover books printed-both originated from Aperture. Both showed severe crinkling on the cover on all areas of BLACK ink. The covers have also curled outwards badly. After speaking with the Apple Print Services helpdesk I was assured it must have been just a 'one off' problem. The replacement was not quite as bad but was still what I would say was of unacceptable quality. The pages inside are printed on very lightweight paper with a poor finish on all printed areas.
I then tried a hard cover book. This had a crinkled dust jacket caused presumably also by over-saturated ink on the paper.
The system of binding looked amateurish.
I would be interested to know whether my experiences are echoed by users on other continents. These books had a Dutch postmark on the package so I guess they were printed there?
These books may be priced attractively, but personally I would rather have a quality product than something I am embarrassed by - or certainly in a professional arena.

Hi, I have also ordered photobook through Aperture. Received with Dutch postmark. Quality is not good, the pages are very thin, use thicker paper than this for everyday printing, looks saturated, colour reproduction is not good in some photos also have some that are blurry. Have reproduced photos at same size on printer at home and they are totally different, do not know if this was a download issue.
As they come from Holland was wondering if it is through KODAK.
Also Aperture update 2.1.2 says that it will improve printing quality of books ordered through the printing services. Does this mean that a problem has been admitted and all photobooks ordered previously using Aperture 2 will have the oportunity to redownload and reprint? Somehow I think not.

Difference between Soft and Hard Reboot

Can anybody tell difference between the hard and soft reboot Option? Does it matter if a user is logged on to the Windows Desktop or not?
What dialogs appear in any Event when a user is logged on and where can I Change this
behaviour?
What is the
behaviour in any Event (Soft / Hard) when there is no logged in user after an installation?
And after clarifying these questions what is the difference from the above compared to "Config Manager Device Restart"

I have been using a Time Capsule as my modem and back up for the last 6 months, suddenly it has started flashing amber light. I have tried resetting, soft and hard, but no success. On reset, the message is that it does not have access to internet.

I have tried resetting, following instructions on Apple support.
2 amber lights are showing, saying no internet, and no dns servers.
On the same network I have direct link to TV, working fine.
The TC does not seem to be able to pick up IP address even though directly connected with Ethernet cable.
I'd appreciate any help possible.

So what kind of modem is it.. is it cable.. if so you need to power it down and leave it off for 30min or so .. maybe shorter or longer depending on the ISP.
Do a full factory reset on the TC.
The Factory Reset TC Gen1-4. Or AE Gen1-5
Unplug your TC/AE. Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
Plug into the TC by ethernet from computer and setup as router .. ie dhcp and nat.. if it fails please give info on the firmware of the TC and the actual modem model number.

My TC was working good until I unplugged it,and when I tried to plug it in again there was no light at all but I can still hear and feel that it does have power,I did do soft and hard reset but it's not working?any ideas?!

Unfortunately, you are likely describing an internal power supply issue on the TC.
The power supply has enough power to start up the hard drive.....that is the sound that you hear....but it is having problems starting up the router portion of the TC.
Try powering off the Time Capsule for 30 minutes or so, then try the start up again.
If you have the same issue, unfortunately the TC will likely need to be replaced since Apple does not offer repairs on Time Capsules.
If the TC is in warranty, take it to an Apple Store to let them have a look or contact Apple Support directly....Contact Apple for support and service
If the TC is out of warranty, but you have AppleCare in effect on one of your Macs, the TC might be covered as well. The rules are complex, so discuss with Apple.
If you can locate the model number on the bottom of the TC......starts with an "A" followed by four numbers......we may be able to provide a bit more info.

Both soft and hard recovery failing

While initializing the containers, both DB_RECOVER, and DB_RECOVER_FATAL have been set. However recovery is failing. I also tried with the command-line "db_recovery -c". Bot no difference.
Also i want to know what are the conditions under which the db can get corrupted. Disk space is sufficient, in my case, i already checked that.

Is there any error message associated with the recovery failure? Are all the log files present?
You should not run recovery while the application is running, as this will corrupt the database/container. Some useful documentation:
