Solaris 10connectivity to EMC: failed to configure ANY device on FCA port

I'm connecting a E2900 server with a EMC symmetrix storage with fiber channel.
But I'm getting the following errors, and I'm not able to see the external disks. Any help is really appreciated.

Check the configuration on the EMC side. This error message is the heart of the problem:
"Unsupported LUN Addressing method 40 in response to REPORT_LUN"
A quick Googling leads me to believe this means you're trying to assign a LUN ID higher than 255 to the host.

Meas&Auto Explorer Fails to see any Devices

I cannot find any of my PXI-instruments in M&A Explorer. I'm running LV 8.0.1.
Checked the Windows System, and all the devices show up as installed and operating properly.
Re-installed (repaired) M&A Explorer, per technica;l support suggestion.
Tried refreshing.
Nothing shows up, hardware, software, etc. in M&A Explorer. I have 9 PXI instruments installed, plus the controller.

One thing that has worked for me in the past:
Make sure MAX is closed. Go to C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MAX (or wherever MAX is installed on your machine). Then, either delete the Data directory or move it out of the MAX folder (depending on how brave you are ). Then restart the machine just for good measure. Then open MAX and try searching for instruments. This forces MAX to rebuild the config files that were in the data directory and has fixed this problem in the past for me.

I have a problem configuring the second network interface for IPv6 under Solaris 10. The first interface, eri0, is configured and works fine. The second one, eri1, has a link-local address but no global address. Both links are up and working, I can ping eri1 via IPv4 (10.0.1.9) from an external host.

Thank you for the answer! I've found an option 'local-mac-address?' (the question mark is a part of the parameter name) in the 'ok' prompt.
More info for next generations:
1. Get to the 'ok prompt' (OpenBoot prom)
2. Type 'printenv' to see the current settings, look for 'local-mac-address?'
3. Set the parameter to 'true': 'setenv local-mac-address? true'
4. Type printenv again to see if the option was actually changed

Siebel 8 installation on Sun Solaris 10 - Siebel server failed

Hi Expert,
I am currently installing Siebel 8.0.0.0 on Sun Solaris 10.
I had successfully configured a New Gateway Name Server, a New Enterpise in a Gateway Name Server and a New Siebel Web Server Extension Logical Profile.
Then, I tried to configure a Siebel Server, however the result of that is Execution Failed and popup the following error message:

I have tried to uninstall Siebel and re-install Siebel couple of times. I got the above same error all the time.
Searching on supportWeb, I don't find much information regarding "error code: "255"(SBL-STJ-00152)"
Does anyone know what does "error code: "255"" mean?
Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve it?

Not sure if that is a problem but the installation went fine.

I have actually had a success message among one of the error messages, which was:
Can't open display(null)
And meant that everything is in order but I just did not have X started.
I interpreted that incorrectly and tried to further fiddle with display configuration.
Marking as Solved.

Windows Updates Failed to Configure in Windows 8 in Lenovo G500s

I am purchased my G500s in October 2013 and tried to install windows 8 updates first time. Before running updates I deleted all my data and switched laptop into default condition using One Key Recovery.
But while windows updates are being configured I am getting a message " Failed to Configure windows Updates, Reverting Changes" which is lasting for more than an hour and my laptop is restarting several time in this duration.
As I am running updates immediately after running One Key Recovery and there is no data on other drives, so this problem is not being caused by any Virus. My problem is similar as mentioned in this link Failure configuring Windows Updates - Windows 8 but I laptop came with Nitro 8, while this link is about problems caused by Nitro 7. Lenovo has not updated this article since 2012.
My laptop is pre installed with these important softwares:
Nitro Pdf 8, Mcafee Internet Security, CyberLink You Cam, Power Dvd.
If anyone can tell what is the cause of this problem I will be thankful to him.

Failed to find any Kerberos Key

Hi All,
I've all ready done all the steps in note 994791 (SPNego Wizard) for SSO configuration between Portal and ADS. After finishing the configuration I checked the login and still appears the authentification login page. I have checked Defaultrace log and it shows the following:
Cannot initializa login module [EXCEPTION]
com.sap.security.core.server.jaas.SPNgoLoginModule#java.lang.RuntimeException: No valid credentials provided (Mechanism level: Failed to find any Kerberos Key)
......... etc.
I have no clue what may go wrong and what I can check for fixing this issue. I did some notes like: Note 1130190 - SPNego fails with "Failed to find any Kerberos Key" and the configuration looks OK. What Could I do or check for this problem??? any help will be rewarded.

Failed to Configured Domain Services for Windows

I am installing OES 2 SP3 with DSfW Pattern as a "New Domain Controller in an Existing Domain Services for Windows Domain" with Replication Configuration and Schema Partition.
During the "Perform eDirectory Configuration" at last task "Configure Domain Services for Windows " at 93% we encountered an error: "Failed to configure Domain Services for Windows".
Here's details of error ;

This is strange. This ldapsearch is failing to find the locator object in the tree under dc=ph.
- Can you try this same command from your FRD DC too and find the result ?
- Is your server non-name mapped or your adding a DSfW server into an existing eDirectory tree (name mapped) ?
- If it is later can you try the same search with '-b' parameter replaced with container to which FRD is mapped to into the eDirectory Tree.
- Can you tell in your setup where are the locator object present for your first DSfW server which is acting as DNS server ?

Cannot access AEx 802.11.n configuration any more

10.5.2 software German. airport extreme airport express 802.11n
Admin Utility sees the AE Base, but fails to read its config, so I cannot change any settings.
Reset to factory setting would be very ugly as a solution.
It happens since I tried to add a second configuration by duplicating the existing one. Now I use the old configutation, but after I manged to restart the AE base with this old config, I cannot access te AE base for configuration any more

From Control Panel open Device Manager and expand Network Adaptors. Right click on the Realtek Wireless Lan and select Properties. Click on the Advanced tab and the Wireless Mode should be set to IEEE 802.1 b/g/n. If it is set to 802.1 b/g then that is the solution.

DCOM(coming with HFM) failed while configuration

I have installed epm 11.1.2.3 on server 2008 R2 standard.
I installed it for hyperion planning and its working fine.
I have noticed that DCOM(coming with hfm) failed while configuration.Actually when I was trying to install all the hyperion components , the install window was already checked for hfm dcom so my question is that, is DCOM needed for planning or epma?If it is failed while configuration ,will it break something?

what are the components you are trying install??
If you are trying Reporting, then Configurator will ask to install DCOM(which comes with HFM) also.
Any way checking the logs, wolud be the first priority.

[SOLVED] Evince failed to open any PDF documents after upgrade

I have a x86 version Archlinux on a 32-bit intel platform. After recent upgrade, the Evince package was updated to 2.32.0-3, which fails to open any PDF documents. It gives a notification says "Unable to open document: File type PDF document (application/pdf) is not supported".
No other package was installed/removed. It just stop working after the upgrade.
Looking forward for any suggestions/solutions. Thanks in advance~~

The problem is solved as soon as I replaced the modified freetype2 from AUR with the official package. There seems to be something incompatible with the upgraded system.

Hi All, I am currently woking on essbase and no knowledge of planning so trying to upgrade my knowledge. I installed epma 11.1.1.3 on windows 2003 VMware work station as I have windows 7 laptop. installed oracle 10g created a database (epma) created user/schemas (sm,ms) trying to configure foundation services, essbase, planning and reporting and analysis. the configure database and register with shared services failed. Am I doing anything wrong. I followed some documents for configuration which are well documented with screen shots still do not know what wrong I am doing. Please advice on how to avoid these failures.

I have an I pad Mini. Since i down loaded the new update ISO 7, my I Pad is not running certain media files either from Chrome or Safari browser. I called technical support but they failed to provide any help stating the media files may not be compctable with new soft ware. I do bnot agree with their finding because i have I phone with ISO 7 updated soft ware and same files run on my I phone but not on I Pad. This was working fine before updating new software. This device is useless for me if i can not watch the program that i bought this for. I want device to replaced or taken back by the company. Thank you

Windows Azure Pack setup - 500 Internal Server Error - failed to configure databases and services

Hi,
I am trying to setup the Windows Azure pack to use the site to configure the Service bus 1.1 installation. When I try to configure the Windows Azure Pack I get the following error:
Admin Authentication Site
500 Internal Server Error - Failed to configure databases and services: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
I'm not sure where the logs are to see what is causing this error. I have tried running as admin, running as a different user with no luck.
