Solaris 8 IFS 9.0.2 can't start http
hello all
i just installed oracle 9i (9.2.0.1.0) , oracle 9ias (9.0.2)
and oracle 9ifs (9.0.2) following installation instruction in the documentation.
I try to start ifs with AS web interface and with command lines
but without success ...
Did anyone installed ifs 9.0.2 on solaris ?
Thanks for help.
We had several problems starting IFS using the web interface...in the end we created a script to start everything..
this is our /usr/local/bin/startifs.sh
PATH=/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/X/bin:/usr/dt/bin:./
SHELL=/sbin/sh
TERM=vt100
TZ=GB
su - oracle -c "/apps/oracle/product/ias90201-mtier/opmn/bin/opmnctl start"
su - oracle -c "/apps/oracle/product/ias90201-mtier/dcm/bin/dcmctl start"
/apps/oracle/product/ias90201-mtier/9ifs/bin/ifslaunchdc
/apps/oracle/product/ias90201-mtier/9ifs/bin/ifslaunchnode
IFS_DCHOSTNAME=???????
IFS_DOMAIN_PORT_NUMBER=53140
IFS_SCHEMA_PASSWORD=password
export IFS_DCHOSTNAME IFS_DOMAIN_PORT_NUMBER IFS_SCHEMA_PASSWORD
/apps/oracle/product/ias90201-mtier/9ifs/bin/ifsstartdomain -s
We then had a problem with ifs web interface not starting automatically
I got this from metalink Note:209312.1
Configure the 9iFS web application to automatically start up :
* Using the Enterprise Manager website :
- Connect to the EM Website : http://host:1810/
- Select the instance where 9iFS 9.0.2 is installed
- Select OC4J_iFS in the list of components
- Click 'Website Properties' under 'Instance Properties'
- Check the 'Load on startup' checkbox for the ifs web module
- Press 'Apply'
- Stop and restart the OC4J_iFS instance
* Manually by editing the configuration files :
- Go to $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_iFS/config/default-web-site.xml
- Add load-on-startup="true" to the ifs web module :
<web-app application="ifs" name="ifs" root="/ifs" load-on-startup="true" />
- Stop the OC4J_iFS instance using ifsstopoc4j or in EM Website
- Restart the OC4J_iFS instance ising ifsstartoc4j or in the EM Website
Hope this all helps
Cheers Dave

I have been offline for a long time since I had a business trip two week ago.
I can not start the apache http server, so it isn't on running status within NT services manager.
In fact, there is someting wrong---fail to create FastCGI when startup. Oracle system message tells me that syntax error exists on line 92 of isqlplus.conf but I don't know how to correct it.

Can't Start HTTP Server Service
I can't seem to be able to start the Oracle HTTP server service on NT.
All other service get started properly but when I attempt to start the HTTP Server service I get Error 1067: process terminated unexpectedly.
Any idea why this is happening?
My installation of the DB and 9iAS did not give any errors.
Any comments appreciated
Thanks
RimaDavid, your reply helped, Thanks !
There was a duplicate include of :
"d:\ORACLE\iSuites\Apache\Apache\conf\mod__ose.conf" in the oracle_apache.conf file
Rima
"d:\ORACLE\iSuites\Apache\Apache\conf\mod__ose.conf"

After much debugging with this, I discovered that the problem realted to a single entry in the httpd.conf file, last line
# Include the Oracle configuration file for custom settings
include "d:\ORACLE\iSuites\Apache\Apache\conf\oracle_apache.conf"
Examining the oracle_appache.conf file, I discovered the installation program had made a double entry of one of the lines,
include "d:\ORACLE\iSuites\Apache\jsp\conf\ojsp.conf"
I think, or else include "d:\ORACLE\iSuites\Apache\Apache\conf\mod__ose.conf"
I deleted the extra line and the service started up.
Also, if you installed Oracle 8i it creates a listener using port 80. Change the port number of one or the other or simply shut down the Oracle 8i http listener to avoid conflicts.

New install of SJS Ent 8 on Solaris, can't start Application Server 8.1
Hello,
Appreciate in advance your help.
Just downloaded and installed SJS 8.1 on a new Sun Solaris 10 box. I'm able to run the IDE and have started the Tomcat server, but when attempting to start the SJS 8.1 application server, I get:
The Sun Java System Application Server 8.1 could not start.
More information about the cause is in the Server log file.
Possible reasons include:
- Port conflicts. (use netstat -a to detect possible port numbers already used)
- Incorrect server configuration
- Corrupted Deployed Applications
The problems are:
- There is no server.log file in the expected directory at /opt/sun/jstudio_ent8/AppServ8.1UR2/domains/myDomain1/logs
- I ran netstat -a, but could glean no useful information
- I have not modified the server configuration since the new install
- I have not deployed my application (since I can't start the server).
Forgive my ignorance since I'm not a Solaris expert. I would greatly appreciate your assistance.No difference in server.log after setting level="FINEST".
Don't know if it would help, but the contents of my server.log file follow:

I do notice that the class path references jdk1.5.0_04. When installing SJS I selected the separately installed jdk1.5.0_07. Could that be causing the problem?

Can not start installation of Solaris 8
(-: frenchee having pb with english speaking, please be nice : I still try to solve it ;-)
On my Ultra1 creator, there is "ultrapenguin" a release for ultrasparc of Linux RH 5.2.
I put the CD which I downloaded from "sun download center" ; I start the sun ; I press "stop+A" ; I send "boot cdrom" command ; it reply "can not start with file and args given" or something like that...
The same procedure works fine with the install CD of RedHat 5.2 or with the install CD of Debian Potato (all for sparc, of course).
What is wrong ??
Thanks by advance !YES I did !!
I found the solution last sunday : one of my friend give me an old version of Solaris (2.6) with the entire docs and packaging.
In these docs, I found the command I (and you) have to type if you want to run the installation :
after [stop]+[a], type the line
boot cdrom - browser
then, come back here and say to all (and to Sun corp) that a little readme file on the CD would be nice... ;-)
Thanks to all. -

Can not start Messaging server in Sun Java System Messaging Server 6 2005Q1
Hi all,
I installed Sun Java System Messaging Server 6 2005Q1 from Solaris 10 DVD on Solaris 10.
After the installation, I got directory server, admin server running but messaging server not running. I can not start Messaging server (start smtp, http, pop, imap). I found in directory which I installed messaging server but I could not see script "start-msg" and "stop-msg".
# pwd

# ls

UpgradeMsg5toMsg6.pl hashdir imsbackup imsexport readership
configure imexpire imsconnutil imsimport reconstruct
control-params.txt iminitquota imscripter imsrestore relinker

Any idea what might have gone wrong?
Thanks.Thanks.
I have a problem when I configure the Messaging Server (by running the /opt/SUNWmsgsr/sbin/configure script):
Hostname mailtest for this machine is not a fully qualified domain name. Please
correct this before attempting to configure Messaging Server. Please make sure
that your DNS is working properly.
<Press ENTER to continue> {"<" goes back, "!" exits}
Can you help me fix this problem?
Thanks. -
PI 7.1 - Can't start config tool
All,
I just installed PI 7.1 (CI), MaxDB 7.7 on Solaris 10; ABAP and Java are up but I can't start the config tool; I am getting the following error message:

Any idea?
Thanks,

Try to
cd /usr/sap/NW2/DVEBMGS01/j2ee/configtool/
./configtool.sh
the configtool searches for its classes in the current directory, if you´re not in the "configtool" subdirectoy it won´t find them.

Hi,
I installed Data Quality for SAP solution on a UNIX box - HP-UX Itanium 11.31. Data Services and DS Components are all installed and running fine, however after I installed the RFC server I can't start it. I keep getting this error: Can't load ibrary: .../bin/librfccm.sl.
I looked in my bin and I can't find the librfccm.sl file but I found the librfccm.so file. I also found a thread on google that mentioned something about .so files are for Solaris/Linus and I must have installed the wrong package. Has anyone run into this issue before?
TIA
LynneIn the host file, we have added the crm server details
1) Your desktop/ PC has connection to the XI/ PI server.....port is opened.....contacvt the network team
2) You should add the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the XI/ PI server in the host file alongwith its IP address.
3) Check the JAVA version installed on you machine
4) Confirm from your BASIS team that your server is actually up and running.

Hi
I am using Solaris 10 I want to configure my ip address , Gateway and Dns Ip address in Solaris 10 throuh terminal mode How can I configure
and use it
pl. inform me regards
SatishFor static IP address, you need to edit following files:
* /etc/hosts - enter static IP address of your system and hostname
* /etc/defaultrouter - enter IP address of your router
* /etc/resolv.conf - enter domain name, search domain name, and name server addresses
* /etc/inet/netmasks - enter netmask if you use one
* /etc/nsswitch.conf - the "host" entry should look like "files dns"
After editing these filed, reboot the system.
Hopefully this helps.
