Solman to compare profile params

hi all..
can any one help me in guiding to use solman to compare the profiles in satellite systems? I found a presentation in the ASUG website mentioning that solman can be used to compare instance profiles/parameters in the satellite systems. Have any of you used it? Can any one help me out..?
i shall reward points to all helpful answers..
thanks

Hi Jim,

  • Not reading profile information from cookies..?

    Hi All,
    i' working on soflogin. When i loggedin to site, it is sending 3 cookies to browser, each for sessionId, profileId, and hashKe. Upto here it is working well. But , when i restart the browser without loggin out, it is not able to pick the cookies from browser, resulting in failure of the soft login. I also wrote the code to consider cookies for softlogin as follows,
    <dsp:droplet name="Compare">
              <dsp:param name="obj1" bean="Profile.securityStatus" />
              <dsp:param name="obj2" bean="PropertyManager.securityStatusCookie" />
              <dsp:oparam name="lessthan">
                   <!-- New user or unrecognized member -->
                   <c:set var="showLoginForm" value="true" scope="request" />
                   <c:set var="useDefaultProfileValues" value="false" scope="request" />
              </dsp:oparam>
              <dsp:oparam name="equal">
                   <!-- User auto-logged in with cookie -->
                   <c:set var="showLoginForm" value="true" scope="request" />
                   <c:set var="useDefaultProfileValues" value="true" scope="request" />
              </dsp:oparam>
              <dsp:oparam name="greaterthan">
                   <!-- User logged in with login/password -->
                   <c:set var="showLoginForm" value="false" scope="request" />
              </dsp:oparam>
         </dsp:droplet>
    And based on the value of showLoginForm variable , i'm displaying the loginPage.. But it is still showing the login page with empty fields instead of login with previous loggedin user login value.. (expected result)
    Thanks,
    VishnuVardhan

    Before reading these values, check in the browser if you have the cookies present before and after restart.
    Otherwise you need to look at the configurations to set the cookie.

  • Adobe 9 Pro: Comparing Scanned PDFs - either no changes found or many many (incorrect) changes found

    Hello - using Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional.
    I have two Word documents that were scanned into a Xerox copy machine, which converts said documents into PDF format and emails them.
    I open both these PDF documents, save them to disk.
    I open Adobe Pro 9 and invoke the Document/Compare Documents feature, browse and find the two files, set document description to Reports.
    Document OCR recognition is set to English/PDF Output Style: Clear Scan and Downsample: Lowest (600dpi).
    Below is a modified screenshot to hide private info - but what you can see in the red box is that the compare functionality didn't pick up the textual change (red box on left) which was simply an insertion of the words: testing testing here.
    I am having great difficulty getting this the Compare Document feature to function properly.  When I choose Document Description >Scanned, there are times when it skews most of the text by converting ones to the letter 'i' and inserting tilde (~) symbols.    Can someone help?

    Your workflow really does not fit the "compare" profile.
    Compare works well when:
    Have a single authoring file. Make a PDF. Send out PDF for comment / review.
    Incorporate comments into the single, source authoring file. Output PDF.
    Compare PDFs.
    As soon as you go to a scanned image and rely on OCR your out of the box.
    First and foremost OCR will not provide a 100% reflection of the textual content.
    Other issues as well.
    Not likely to motivate a snoppy dance (would incur a subscription cost) but you'd be much better served use Adobe's EchoSign online service.
    Be well...

  • RFC timeout profile parameter

    Hi,
    What are the profile parameters that limit the time a RFC function module can stay runnuning in ABAP Stack?
    I mean one external system calls a RFC in ABAP Stack, for how long the RFC can run without timeout, it does not matter for me the limitation in the external system, I want to know what are the limits in ABAP, what are the profile parameters that can limit the RFC execution?
    I would like to know all of them for this scenario because based on it I can measure/study if my RFC will run in Production or not.
    Thanks for the help.

    Hello Mauricio,
    AFAIK the time limit for the RFC execution depends on the maximum runtime allocated to a dialog workprocess in the system. This is because the RFC calls are executed through dialog work processes.
    This is determined by the profile param: rdisp/max_wprun_time. Check this SAP documentation on [How To change the maximum dialog runtime of a process|http://help.sap.com/bp_bw370/documentation/How_To_Change_the_Maximum_Dialog_Runtime_of_a_Process_in_NW2004s.pdf]

  • Migration to UCM11g: Profile rules get messed up post migration.

    Hi,
    We are trying to migrate from UCM10gR3 to UCM11g. We are facing problems when importing the content archive into ucm11g install.
    Import failure happens due to wrong set of rules getting applied during the import, i.e. some inconsequential metadata fields becoming mandatory while fields that needs to become mandatory don't.
    How do i debug the source of the problem. I have done the following until now.
    Verified the CMU import from 10gR3 for errors, and everything seems to have come through fine. Did not see any issues there.
    Post import, compared profile rules between 10gR3 to 11g, and they match line to line. I dont see any difference at all between 10gR3 and 11g.
    Enabled profile tracing and compared the logs when checkin happens in 10gR3 and 11g, Rules getting initialized and activated as same other than the final import exception that we see in case of 11g. Following is the exception.

  • ColorChecker Passport-Color Profiles

    Hi there,
    I am photographing paintings with Elinchrom flashes with an even light and I use the ColorChecker Passport from X-Rite to keep a reference in order to match the colors.
    Till now, I've been using the software DNG profile manager, provided with the ColorChecker Passport from X-Rite, which creates a camera profile that should be helpfull to get the right color. Once I've applied the new camera profile (after restarting lightroom), I do the white balance. It's recommended on the X-Rite tutorial to use the target number 20 called "neutral 8" to do the white balance. I've also tried the target 22 called "neutral 5", and it seems to get slightly better results.
    I've noticed that even creating a color profile and doing the white balance the colors don't match. I am using a mac laptop screen that I calibrate quite often, which is not very helpful for obvious reasons, but that helps to keep track of the general look of the image, so that's why I keep the color adjustment to the RGB numbers.
    I've downloaded the following PDF; here there is some information about the RGB values of various ColorChekers:
    http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CB4QFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.babelcol or.com%2Fdownload%2FRGB%2520Coordinates%2520of%2520the%2520Macbeth%2520ColorChecker.pdf&rc t=j&q=ColorChecker%20rgb%20values&ei=wOCdTbG7NIyDhQelj5G8BA&usg=AFQjCNGj3wUpWC_uMxgMCeR3GI yN7kDU0A&sig2=mPf1grSAULxyMs_SanYVNw&cad=rja
    Using these values and a selective color layer in photoshop I get close to the real colors, although it is not good enough.
    My questions are:
    1-Does anybody know the ColorChecker Passport RGB (Adobe 98) values?
    2-I've tried to use the DNG profile editor because it seems a precise tool for this, but it doesn't recognise the 5D Mark II files. Is it because this application hasn't been updated? It also seems to work only with 6500K or 2850K, which is not the case of the Elincrhom 600 monoblocks I am using (which I think are around 5000K.
    3-Could anybody recommend a workflow that's better to match the colors?
    I have more questions, but I think these three are a good start.
    Thanks!

    Here are color-error analysis plots for several camera calibrations using the fine-art color-checker calibration shot uploaded, earlier.
    The three profiles tested were:
    1)  A custom Elinchrom Flash profile I created from the color-checker using the DNG Profile Editor,
    2)  The Adobe Standard camera profile,
    3)  The custom profile provided by Gustov.
    My general comment would be that the Adobe Standard profile has about the same error as the custom profile I computed using the DNG Profile Editor but the Adobe profile has a more even distribution of the color error.
    The profile Gustov provided seems to be very close in the yellow area, but quite far off in the reds, blues, and violets. This can also be seen as a severe shift toward the green of the WB Tint slider value when the profile is selected for the As Shot WB as compared to the almost zero value when using the Adobe Standard profile.
    These color-error plots were created using the ColorCheck module of Imatest Studio 3.7 from www.imatest.com.  The program compares the measured color values from a color-checker image to the standard color numbers of the Color Checker then plots the difference on a CIE chromicity diagram, where the squares are the standard color position, the circles are the measured color position, and length of line in between is the color-error.  In general, error in-and-out from the center is saturation error, while error around the center is hue error.  In a 3D plot luminance error is also shown but harder to visualize without a way to rotate the plot around.  Imatest provides this visualization in its Multicharts module.
    I used the ProPhotoRGB colorspace when saving the TIF out of ACR because the standard ProPhotoRGB color-checker numbers in Imatest are for D50 lighting whereas the AdobeRGB standard numbers are for D65 lighting.  As the image-filenames suggest, I used a linear toning curve and a black-point of 0 when saving out of ACR, but left the brightness at 50 and the contrast at 25.  I tried zeroing out the brightness and contrast or using the Medium Contrast toning curve but things were way off.  Using a blackpoint of 0 instead of the default of 5 also made things slightly better.  There are scripts that can compute the optimal toning values for the gray patches but I was only comparing profiles, not trying to optimize them completely.

  • What does f:param do?

    Hi all,
    What exactly <f:param> does. Is there any alternative in HTML,JavaScript or JSP for this?
    If <f:param> sets a value for a key, JSTL's <c:out value="${key}"> does the same. Am I right?
    Can we compare <f:param with <c:out>.
    Help me.

    <h:outputText > is the equivalent of <c:out>
    <f:param> sets a request parameter, here is an example
    <h:commandLink actionListener="#{companyListBean.sortByColumn}">
         <h:outputText value="#{companyListBean.companyColumnTitle}" escape="false" />
         <f:param name="column" value="name" />
    </h:commandLink>in your managed bean, you can retrieve it with
    String columnName = (String)facesContext.getExternalContext().getRequestParameterMap().get("column");Frederic

  • Report printing with BI pubisher - 500 Internal server error

    Hi,
    I was having problems using BI publisher to print with. I thought we didn't have it at first, however since found we do have BI Publisher Enterprise edition.
    When I put the settings into APEX, reports don't display as expected. I get
    report error:
    ORA-20001: The printing engine could not be reached because either the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified.Now if I navigate to the URL in my web browser, http://[server]:[port]/xmlpserver/convert, I get a 500 - Internal Server Error page. The requets is definitely hitting something because if I change "convert" to say "convert1" then I get 404 (as expected). So it seems as if convert is found but then a problem occurs.
    If I navigate to just http://[server]:[port]/xmlpserver/ then I see the BI publisher enterprise login screen.
    Any ideas what might be causing this or what I could do to resovle it?
    Our APEX instance is on a unix box and BI on a M$ box if that matters (long story)?
    Thanks

    Dear Cobos, For FQDN related issues : Set profile param "icm/host_name_full" with corresponding FQDN via RZ10 transaction. Also check login/create_sso2_ticket & /accept_sso2_ticket parameters in the profile you have created.  Instead of "http://sesue:50300" you may to have the URL like "http://sesue.domain.com:50300//SAP/BW/BEX/". Please refer this #scn article for more details : http://goo.gl/QPlrx Similar Issues : http://goo.gl/mRCh0 Hope it helps. Thanks.

  • NetWeaver ABAP Trial version 7.01 error TP_CANNOT_CONNECT_SYSTEM

    Dear all,
    I hope someone could help me with this. I have installed the 7.01 version of NetWeaver ABAP trial and encounter issues with the Transport system STMS. I want to install BI Content via SAINT in client 000 with user DDIC, but the import stops right away with the following error message:
    Reason for error: TP_CANNOT_CONNECT_SYSTEM
    Return Code: 0208
    Error Message: Error in transport profile (param missing, unknown, ...)
    I believe the reason for this is the RFC connection TMSADM@NSP:DOMAIN_NSP. When doing a connection test in SM59 it throws an error message:
    Error when opening RFC connection. ERROR: hostname 'PWDF3101' unkonwn.
    The issue should be the hostname entered by default as Target Host in this RFC. I do not recognise PWDF3101 either and I had nowhere entered this during installation process. In the former version of ABAP trial, the target host was 'localhost', the RFC connection test worked fine, and installing BI Content via SAINT was no problem.
    I cannot manually change the target host name in this RFC, also generating the RFC in STMS does not have an effect. I get the successful message of RFC destinations being generated, but host name still remains wrong.
    Any ideas how to get this RFC fixed? Or is there maybe something I have overlooked?
    Thanks for your help
    Claas

    I have solved the issue - the NSP system was not configured correctly after installation. In STMS - Systems Overview, then mark the system NSP and choose Change from the SAP menu. Here you can amend the settings such as hostname and directory paths to the transport folders. When generating the RFC connections in STMS the hostname entered for the system gets looked up and applied to the RFC connection.

  • Additional Mapping types

    Hi mates,
    I've maintained the additonal mapping types required in the exchg profile param...com.sap.aii.repository.mapping.additionaltypes with the value R3_ABAP|Abap-class;R3_XSLT|XSL (ABAP Engine).
    But, I'm not able to see the above mapping types in the drop-down list in Intf Mapping in IR.
    The desc in exhange profile reads like this.......
    <i>Technically, the Integration Server calls the ABAP function CALL_PARTNER_MAPPING with the additional mapping type name as destination. Therefore, the additional mapping type name must be registered as RFC-Destination in the Integration Server, too.</i>
    On an XI system-SP13...I did not maintain any RFC dest for this pruprose. But I cud use additional mappig types.
    Currently I'm trying this on SP16. Its not working.
    Am I missing out on any step here? Plz provide ur inputs.
    Thanks in advance
    praveen

    Hi,
    >>>>But, I'm not able to see the above mapping types in the drop-down list in Intf Mapping in IR.
    just type in the ABAP mapping class name from SE24
    and it will work

    Well, since you want to enable the certificate-based user authentication (where your ABAP server is in the role of the SSL server) this does not matter. But if you intend to use your NWAS ABAP as SSL client (for outbound https communication) then it will matter. To resolve this problem you simply create an SSL Client PSE using transaction STRUST.
    Once you've managed to [configure your NWAS ABAP for SSL,|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/510007] you should see (in the ICM trace) that a X.509 client certificate was received. If the certificate-based logon does not succeed, then it's most likely due to some mapping problems - those can be analysed by using the tracing approach described in [note 495911|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/495911].
    If you need assistance in enabling the X.509 client certificate authentication you should submit an inquiry to SAP (message component BC-SEC-LGN).
    Best regards,
    Wolfgang

  • Web dispatcher SSL error

    Hi, All
    I am using webdispatcher as reverse proxy for SSL terminiation. let me explain my steps.
    to create pse
    1-get request file
    sapgenpse get_pse u2013s2048 -p C:\usr\sap\FW2\W00\sec\SAPSSLS.pse  -r C:\usr\sap\FW2\W00\sec\SAPSSLS.req  "CN=portal.xxx.com, OU=xxx company"
    I got request file.
    2-import
    sapgenpse import_own_cert -p C:\usr\sap\FW2\W00\sec\SAPSSLS.pse -c C:\usr\sap\FW2\W00\sec\reponse.cer -r C:\usr\sap\FW2\W00\sec\subroot.cer -r C:\usr\sap\FW2\W00\sec\root.cer -x 12345
    CA-Response successfully import int0 PSE
    3-create credentials
    sapgenpse seclogin -p C:\usr\sap\FW2\W00\SAPSSLS.pse -x 12345 -O SAPServiceFW2
    Added SSO-credentials for PSE "C:\usr\sap\FW2\W00\sec\SAPSSLS.pse
    4-I also check permission of SAPSSLS.pse for SAPServiceFW2 and fw2adm (win 2008 )

    Hi,
    it was domain installation. But I needed to create SAPServieSID user on the local too. this solved my problem. I gave required permmison to pse again for local user. it is sound weird but it is working now.

  • EjbPostCreate being ignored

    I have a CMP entity bean, and I am having problems creating it:
    I get :
    cannot insert NULL into ("BEAKER"."COMPANIES"."PROFILE_ID")
    ...which means that the ejbPostCreate is being ignored and nothing is being inserted for COMPANIES and PROFILE_ID
    My ejbCreate and ejbPostCreate have identical paramater headers so I am confused why it is not being called. I am using Sun One Application Server 7 which I think could be part of the problem.
    My two methods are as follows :
    * @ejb.create-method
    public LongIdentifier ejbCreate(Profile profile,
    String name,
    Country country,
    Currency currency,
    String userName) throws javax.ejb.CreateException
    try
    setKeyValue(new Long(getSequenceGenerator().getNextCompanyId()));
    catch (SQLException e)
    throw new CreateException(e.getMessage());
    catch (NamingException e)
    throw new CreateException(e.getMessage());
    this.setName(name);
    this.setUpdatedBy(userName);
    this.setUpdatedDate(new Date());
    this.setCreatedBy(userName);
    this.setCreatedDate(new Date());
    this.setActive(true);
    // EJB 2.0 spec says return null for CMP ejbCreate methods.
    return null;
    * Set all CMR fields for the CMP bean
    * @param profile
    * @param name
    * @param country
    * @param currency
    * @throws javax.ejb.CreateException
    public void ejbPostCreate(Profile profile,
    String name,
    Country country,
    Currency currency,
    String userName) throws javax.ejb.CreateException
    //the following print statements are not showing in the log trace
    System.out.println("in ejbPostCreate");
    System.out.println("profile = " + profile.getName());
    System.out.println("country = " + country.getName());
    System.out.println("currency = " + currency.getName());
    setProfile(profile);
    setCountry(country);
    setCurrency(currency);
    //setCreatedBy(user);
    }

    First of all CMP entity bean doesn't need
    this.setName(name);
    It is just
    setName(name);
    and ofcourse need to return null.
    and I can see that you are not set the ID for the Profile_ID
    that's while it is null value. If ID is not auto increasement then you need to set the ID there..
