[SOLVED] bundle from ruby package can not install gems

Hello, I was stuck with 'bundle' for hours, I do not know anything about Ruby, and even looking at the code won't get my anywhere. kindda don't like it... (guilty). Anyway, I'm gonna post it here to save someone else's time.
What I was trying to do:
I was trying to run this command, as developing an omega sub-theme for Drupal requires this. This command will read GemFile and install all GEM dependencies.
bundle install
What happened? What's the problem?
  this happened:

Fetching additional metadata from https://rubygems.org/..

Everything: cloning eventmachine directly from github which produced same result, removing gems depending on eventmachine however other packages produced the same result, ...
The error message says: You have to install development tools first. however it was installed:
sudo pacman --needed -S base-devel
What was the problem? What's the solution then?
Well, I had previously enabled multilib in pacman.com which resulted in gcc-multilib and gcc-libs-multilib being installed however these multilib packages does NOT work, gcc and gcc-libs needs to be installed instead. I do not know what is the proper solution for having these multilib packages and compiling ruby gems? (maybe adding multilib back to pacman.conf!) but it finally worked for me.
I would create a wiki article but I don't know if it deserve's one + I'm not very good english writer + not sure if the solution is 100% right. probably this should be added to ruby page: in order to compile ruby gems you have to install gcc and gcc-libs instead of gcc-multilib and gcc-libs-multilib since multilib packages wont work because of...?

Don't have the 7100 board , but some of theese issues are common .
Enter BIOS in the following submenus :
Advanced BIOS Features:
-HD-Boot order - Make sure your SATA drive where you install OS is first in the list .
(always check this one when altering HD's and connections of drives/usb-drives/card readers etc)
Set normal boot order
1'st boot device : CDROM
2'nd boot device :Harddisk
3'rd boot device : Harddisk (just to have something there)
or if having floppy
1'st boot device : Floppy
2'nd boot device : CDROM
3'rd boot device : Harddisk
Boot other device : disabled
Disconnect all USB cables coming from case or multicard dreader device etc. terminated on the motherboards JUSB1/JUSB2 .. headers .
Enter Advanced Chipset features
Integrated pheripherals
Ide function setup ->
Onchip IDE channel 0 : Disabled
Onchip IDE channel 1 : Disabled
SATA 1/2 : Enabled
SATA 3/4 : Enabled
Onboard device->
OnBoard Sil3132 RAID : disabled
OnBoard Sil3132 Mode :SATA
Also recommend setting
USB KB/Storage Support : Disabled
(and connect the keyboard to PS2 via the delivered USB/PS2 adapter )
Boot once , and enter bios again to verify the HDbootorder
BTW: Having only 2.5GB for is not gonna cut it as OS partition is not enough as pagefile written under install is 1.5 times installed memory
and the install will halt .
Windows updates and other stuff as mail storage , my documents , user prifiles and registry hives need space and grow some over time .
Primary OS partition workes best having altleast a minimum 20% free space all the time for housekeeping tasks lige changing layout ini , prefetch data
defragmenting etc.
Don't use anything less than 15GB to have peace of mind . ( I usually make it 30GB or more to avoid having lack of space later on , as that is a bitch )

I can not install app's from the app store on my phone, and when i try, i get a message tells me (cannot connect to itunes store) that happened after i updated it to "IOS6" . it's a "IPhone4 S"

Remember, any purchased item from the itunes store is forever associated with the Apple ID used to buy it.  So when you get prompted for an ID/password and it doesn't accept it, then you are using the wrong ID.
Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores, be sure it's logged into the ID you have set on the iphone (since that one seems to be connecting with the right ID).  If you've done this, then you might wait a bit to see if the "cannot connect to .. store" message has to do with internet connections.

    Hi, shoaib.
You wrote: "also in disk utility i get this
"invalid file or directory ID found"
"the volume HD needs to be repaired"
"Error: the underlying task reported failure onn exit""The disk directory of your hard drive is corrupted. This is the source of your problems.
If you cannot afford either of the third-party utilities:
    • Alsoft Disk Warrior 3.x (DW3)
    • Micromat TechTool Pro version 4.1.x (TTP4).
then you will need to follow the instructions in "Disk Utility reports 'Underlying task reported failure' when repairing a volume."
Specifically, given that your attempt to repair the disk using Disk Utility from your Tiger DVD failed, there are no other solutions available for this problem other than:
    • Attempting repair with the third-party disk utilities cited above.
    • Backing up whatever data can be saved, then reinstalling Mac OS X with an Erase and Install.
See the article I cited above for details. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
To avoid having to reinstall in situations like this, as funds permit you should consider investing in:
    • Implementing a comprehensive backup and recovery solution. For advice on the backup and recovery solution I employ, see my "Backup and Recovery" FAQ.
    • Alsoft DiskWarrior and TechTool Pro.
    Good luck!

install 6.5 before proceeding further. I coud not understand.
Just what it says - install os 10.6.5 before proceeding further.  You can either do so through Software Update or use the Combo update from Apple's download site.
You should repair permissions and restart your computer prior to updating and upgrading.

    Hi Marcel1no,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that it can be frustrating when an application downloaded from the App Store is not behaving as you would expect. In this situation, I would recommend using the attached article for information on troubleshooting apps downloaded from the App Store.

My friend had this problem and he just went into his payment information to make sure it was accurate and up to date. He didn't even change anything, only reentered his security code. He then downloaded the app successfully. Thought that might help you.

I was waiting to surf web with firefox from my phone for a long time. can anyone please let me know any known solution to it.

The mobile version of Firefox for Android requires a processor that supports the ARMv7 architecture, the LG Optimus P500 does not meet that requirement, it supports the ARMv6 architecture.

Not with your current user id.
Far too much uneccesary information in your post, which only confuses things, a vast amount!
    Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.
    chicx wrote:
By the way, what does IOS mean? (I thought IO stood for operating system, but am flummoxed by the S on the end.
    Really?
OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do.

Hi, glad that worked for you. Also thanks for the explanation as how you came about this. Yes, from my understanding any Install of the CS5, even a trial version Installs the 10.1 (beta/prerelease) versions. It is not clear to me or others why the 10.1 was used in the CS5 instead of the latest version (10.0.45.2). My only guess is that the 10.1 is very close to being released as a shipping version (final release) to the public. The 10.1 had a target date of the first half of 2010. Perhaps that was the reasoning. This is just my opinion:-)
As I said, many users are having this problem, not just with the CS5, but they Install the 10.1 thinking that will solve whatever problem they may be having with the latest version.
Your thread is very helpful for other users that may be having the exact problem that you were. For this reason if you marked your thread as answered, they would read it first.

  • T410 System Update 4 - Intel Rapid Storage AHCI Driver "Package did not install" Error

I've not had a problem with system Update 4 until today.  I went out to check for any updates and there was only one (Optional) listed so I went ahead and tried to install it.
It is Intel Rapid Storage AHCI Driver for Windows 64bit.  The installed version is 9.5.7.1002 and the version trying to be installed is 9.6.0.1014.  The progress bar indicated it downloaded and tried to install, but ended with the error, "1 Package did not install."  Not a lot of help in that statement!?!
Has anyone had a problem like this before?  Any idea how to "fix" it so I can install this update?
I even tried once with MS Security Essentials, Windows Firewall and UAC turned off with no difference.
System details are in my sig, below.
    Thanks for any help,

Hmmmm ..... it could another issue with the Win2K operating system i.e. the COMMAND.COM version.
I'll cut and paste the section of the Release Notes that might give some clues:
------------ extracting from Release Notes ----------
    Support for Windows 2000
In the English locale, version 1.3.1 of the Java 2 SDK is supported on Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2000 Server, Window 2000 Advanced Server. The
DataCenter edition of Windows 2000 is not supported. In non-English locales, only the Professional edition of Windows 2000 is supported. Known issues with
    Windows 2000 include:
Windows 2000 and multiple-monitor support - Multiple monitors are not yet fully functional on the Windows 2000 platform. In particular, 256 color mode
only behaves properly if all monitors are set to 256 color mode. 16-bit (or higher) color mode is highly recommended.
If you see the following error message on Windows 2000 during installation
config.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS
    and Microsoft Windows Applications.
it indicates a problem with the %SystemRoot%\System32\COMMAND.COM file that has been seen on some installations of Windows 2000. If you
encounter this error message when you try to launch the installer, consult the Microsoft web site at
    http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q142/2/71.asp
for information about resolving the problem.
Process hang - An application may hang because of a deadlock in Ntdll on Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, Server, and Advanced Server
operating systems. This problem may occur, for example, in applications that use input and output streams of java.lang.Process objects. See the
Microsoft Support Services web site for more information, including a fix:

    --------------- end of extraction ----------------
Let me know if this is the case with your machine and the J2SE SDK 1.3.1_01 installation package.
