[SOLVED] cant install acpi_call-git

cant install acpi_call-git from aur here is the output
Comment by CIB (2013-08-02 13:22)
Getting errors when trying to build this, it seems to rely on something already being in /usr/lib/modules/3.10.3-1-ARCH/build
Does this rely on some kernel source package or something?
Comment by CIB (2013-08-02 14:02)
Looks like it: linux-headers package. Could that be added to the dependencies, please?
Comment by vadimk (2013-08-17 01:00)
I just tried to makepkg for acpi_call-git package and it fails because
of rejected acpi_call-x86_64.patch. I compared the patch and original file
and they are with the same changes. As a local fix I used:

Confirming `makepkg` fails and flagging as out-of-date due to contents of acpi_call-x86_64.patch being included in upstream as of 02-Jun-2013:

The mplayer subversion tree as of right now has 2752 files, so the initial download will take a little while. It tries to optimize the code based on your current processor and it does a bit of linking. It does take a while to compile.
banshee28 wrote:2) Whats the best way to maintain this and keep it up-to-date? Will it update with -Syu or do I need to install it again? Not sure about the svn setup?
Assuming that you didn't delete the build folder, the package will only pull down new files in the build tree, so it won't take as long to download next time. Although, it's pulling in FFmpeg which changes very quickly. The compile times will probably stay roughly the same.

5.3.5-2 is the latest.  Your mirrors are not up-to-date.  Switch to new mirrors which are current then refresh and do a full system update (pacman -Syyu).

At least for x86_64, libelf seems to be a dependency. Throws an error about libelf.so.0 when starting screen if it's not installed.
Comment by: Ranguvar on Sun, 11 Oct 2009 04:00:10 +0000
The three lines at the end of the install scriplet are unnecessary now and can cause problems apparently, please remove :)
Also, I cannot confirm libelf dependency, both by using ldd and trying removing libelf, so it should be kept out.

i download this latest itunes but i cant install it on my laptop?  everytime i run it.message appear it that "itunesetup.exe is not valid win32 application?? how can i solve it

That generally indicates that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
The following document is a good place to start:
iTunes: Windows reports that "iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application"

  • Cant install new software updates

    Hi,
It seems I cant install any software updates from apple. When I click the install button, nothing happens.Normally the Admin password screen comes up but its not.
    Anyone have any advice?

Cutting to the chase, I think the best solution to this problem is to make a really good backup with TimeMachine and then do a clean install os Leopard, and then to update Leopard, and then to use TimeMachine to restore your files.
I tried Archive and Install. At first, I attempted to preserve user preferences. But the installation of Leopard hung. Looking at the logs, it hung after the system had installed, and as it was in the process of trying to restore the user settings. I then tried Archive and Install without preserving user preferences. This appeared to work, but several files were corrupted. Most obviously, files that had recently been edited with Microsoft EXCEL 2008. I then deleted the Archived files and restored all my user files from TimeMachine. Problem solved.
I wonder if the combination of Microsoft Office 2008 and Leopard 10.5 is somehow toxic.

  • I cant install the graphic card on my laptob

    THANK YOU ..
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

What is the error message that you get when you try to install the driver?
Have you downloaded the right driver for your graphic card? The right driver for your notebook is mentioned in the link below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4132&lc=da&cc=dk&dlc=da&sw_lang=&product=5353...
Please download this softpaq and try to install this. (In case you are unable to install this in regular mode, try to boot into Safe mode, (by pressing F10 during during boot process and select "safe mode") and then check if you can install the driver.
Also you can download and install the latest version of BIOS from the following link:
    http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=6886537&swItemId=ob_135192_1&swEnvOid=405...
    This should help.
In case you still have any issues, please post your error message here.

  • Cant install itunes 10.5

why i cant install itunes 10.5 on my alienware windows 7 64-bit? ive been trying for 3 days now, still it says error on windows installer package. can anyone help me??

Open regedit using "run as administrator".
    Go to the registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInstallerUserDataS-1-5-1 8Components
    ...and selected the folder DA42BC89BF25F5BD0AF18C3B9B1A1EE8
(there are three folders with very similar names A,B & C you want the first one)
    Right click & choose Permissions
Click Advanced, and then the Owner tab
Type  (not administrators) in current owners field and check the box to replace the owner on subcontainer and volumes
Apply settings and then click Permissions tab. Once again, add  (not administrators) to the list of permission entries, then click edit and check all permission boxes. Also click the 2 bottom boxes concerning the inheritable permissions.
[Note: In my case I was a member of administrators and administrators was already set in all of the above settings - I've no idea why it needed to be set to my user rather than the administrator group, anyway it solved the problem for me]
    Click OK
Now back on the main permissions tab, add  in the user name window and then check full control and read checkboxes. Click OK.
On the menu bar click file > exit
But if u have the message pop up more then once then just make the permissions for the entier S-1-5-18Components folder

  • Help cant install shockwave

i want to install shockwave player but i have vista i try to
instal on the site and the videos plays with install complete but
    it wasnt installed

Your machine is called "Lombard". Its a good machine. You should get more memory, though.
    1. the mac os x 10.2.8, wat doe this mean, and is it good. Also can i update it to a new edition for free?and how
Your OS is adequate, but you would benefit from upgrading to 10.3.9, which is the highest your machine natively supports. Any 10.3 will do, as you can update from there through Apple for free. However, you will need the OS install on CDs, as you don't have a DVD-ROM.
    2. This is the real problem. Everytime i wna install something it wont work. For example, i downloaded flashplayer installation so i can install it. When it finished dowloading to my desktop i clicked on it to install it. When i did so, a window poped up and said that there is no default application specified to open this document. And then on the botom it says choose application. And i dont know wat application im supposed to choose to instal flashplayer. This hapapens to everything i want to install like limewire and shockwave. I cant install anything! So plz help me solve this problem.
Make sure you are downloading Mac programs (i.e.) no .exe files. Make sure the programs support your OS. As pointed out, you may be lacking the installer, which should be located in your Utilities folder.
