[Solved] Cant install mplayer-svn

Maybe I am missing something, but I am trying to install the svn for mplayer and getting this error asking me which file to patch.
Any suggestions:

The mplayer subversion tree as of right now has 2752 files, so the initial download will take a little while. It tries to optimize the code based on your current processor and it does a bit of linking. It does take a while to compile.
banshee28 wrote:2) Whats the best way to maintain this and keep it up-to-date? Will it update with -Syu or do I need to install it again? Not sure about the svn setup?
Assuming that you didn't delete the build folder, the package will only pull down new files in the build tree, so it won't take as long to download next time. Although, it's pulling in FFmpeg which changes very quickly. The compile times will probably stay roughly the same.

This is a brand new 32-bit build on my laptop. Everything is working great, but for some reason I cant get some AUR packages. I have Yaourt, pacman-color, and slock installed from AUR and working fine, but I cant get mpd-git or mplayer-svn installed? I have gcc, python installed and tried both root and user accounts. Not sure what is missing. This is a new dual core laptop so not sure why I am getting the CPU errors below?

Getting errors when trying to build this, it seems to rely on something already being in /usr/lib/modules/3.10.3-1-ARCH/build
Does this rely on some kernel source package or something?

Looks like it: linux-headers package. Could that be added to the dependencies, please?

I just tried to makepkg for acpi_call-git package and it fails because
of rejected acpi_call-x86_64.patch. I compared the patch and original file

5.3.5-2 is the latest.  Your mirrors are not up-to-date.  Switch to new mirrors which are current then refresh and do a full system update (pacman -Syyu).

  • Mplayer-svn disables features?

I just installed mplayer-svn through the AUR. For some reason, opengl is on the list of disabled video outputs.
I have a pretty nice nVidia 8800GT, which definitely supports opengl. Am I just mistaken and mplayer-svn is still "allowed" to use opengl2 through gl2, or is it completely ignoring opengl in all of its variations?
It's also possible that I'm asking a dumb question =-)

Both any2dvd and tovid have been trying to do something like this:
(this one is from any2dvd, which seems to be a little nicer)
    transcode -H0 -i "1.avi" -x mplayer="-mc 0",mplayer -f 29.970 -g 1280x720 -n 0x1 -e 44100,16,2 -y ffmpeg -F mpeg2 -Z 720x480 --export_asr 3 -D0 -N 0x2000 -E 48000,16,2 -b 384 -m "tmp_any2dvd/1.ac3" -o "tmp_any2dvd/1.m2v" -w 5000
I tried to rename the file to .avi in case that was the problem, but it didn't help. The filetype is actually mp4 (and trying it with that extension didn't go anywhere).

All of this is coming from swscale. Enabling Mplayer's internal swscale fixes the build for me, but it's hardly a solution seeing that there is no difference at all in between the code bases.
    The question:
Why are Archers seeing this and yet there's no traces that I can find anywhere on the web? I ask because I don't know if it's a Mplayer bug, a FFmpeg bug, or one of the core libraries in Arch? In short, I don't know who to file a bug report with.
    What I know:
    1) The build fails in different places on different architectures.
    2) Mplayer seems to not be able to find yasm even though x264 and FFmpeg find it fine, even with the configure flag --yasm=YASM.
    3) FFmpeg is not installing any swscale header file other than libswscale/swscale.h and force installing it does not help.
        a) There is no difference at all in the Makefile between the two code bases.

wonder wrote:to be fair i don't think you can build mplayer-svn against ffmpeg-svn. you can only with mplayer-mt-git against ffmpeg-mt-git or something like that.
I've been doing it daily for well over a year. Maybe even two.
    -- Edit--
If anyone cares, it's because of how Mplayer deals with FFmpeg's header files. For instance, Mplayer is looking for yuv2rgb.h, but FFmpeg now produces yuv2rgb_mmx.h at runtime on my system. It looks as if libswscale's build files are being generated per architecture for usage of ASM code. Mplayer isn't looking at things quite right anymore.

  • Cant install new software updates

    Hi,
It seems I cant install any software updates from apple. When I click the install button, nothing happens.Normally the Admin password screen comes up but its not.
    Anyone have any advice?

Cutting to the chase, I think the best solution to this problem is to make a really good backup with TimeMachine and then do a clean install os Leopard, and then to update Leopard, and then to use TimeMachine to restore your files.
I tried Archive and Install. At first, I attempted to preserve user preferences. But the installation of Leopard hung. Looking at the logs, it hung after the system had installed, and as it was in the process of trying to restore the user settings. I then tried Archive and Install without preserving user preferences. This appeared to work, but several files were corrupted. Most obviously, files that had recently been edited with Microsoft EXCEL 2008. I then deleted the Archived files and restored all my user files from TimeMachine. Problem solved.
I wonder if the combination of Microsoft Office 2008 and Leopard 10.5 is somehow toxic.

    googling the issue yields:
    - issue with the exec mount flag (err:virtual:map_file_into_view failed to set 00000005 protection on file map, noexec filesystem?):
    https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=15541
I tried to add it and reboot, no luck:

    - issue #32859:
    https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32859
but what I have is not a crash and it's fixed upstream anyway (libX11 1.6.2)
I tried to downgrade from 1.7.29 to 1.7.26, install winetricks-svn, same issue.
Could someone try that command line and tell me if it works ?

  • Mplayer-svn with dvdnav patch - testers needed

This was getting a bit OT here, so here's a new thread.
I've added the dvdnav patch, which provides support for DVD menus, to the existing mplayer-svn PKGBUILD. It compiles successfully, but I don't have a DVD drive, so I can't test it. Here's the PKGBUILD:
    <edit>
Added unset CFLAGS, as advised by kth5.

The link above gives full details of what this patch can and cannot do.
I'll run the package here to make sure existing functionality is OK, but I'd be grateful if others could try out the DVD stuff and report back. If it's good enough, I'll include it in the AUR package.
    Thanks.

tomk wrote:MAC!EK - every mplayer config option, including directfb, is autodetected, so if it's there, mplayer will use it - if it's not, it won't. That does not mean mplayer depends on them. This PKGBUILD provides a package that is identical to the stock Arch package, apart from functionality that is only available in the newer code, so the options that are specifically enabled are the ones chosen for that package.
    OK but...
    $ sudo pacman -R directfb
    removing directfb... done.
    $ mplayer Batman.wmv
mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libdirectfb-0.9.so.24: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Mayby I didn't understood somethin fro myour post, but this doesn't look like autodetection.
I guess he meant autodetcted by the configure-script before compiling...

What is the error message that you get when you try to install the driver?
Have you downloaded the right driver for your graphic card? The right driver for your notebook is mentioned in the link below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4132&lc=da&cc=dk&dlc=da&sw_lang=&product=5353...
Please download this softpaq and try to install this. (In case you are unable to install this in regular mode, try to boot into Safe mode, (by pressing F10 during during boot process and select "safe mode") and then check if you can install the driver.
Also you can download and install the latest version of BIOS from the following link:

    This should help.
In case you still have any issues, please post your error message here.

  • Cant install itunes 10.5

why i cant install itunes 10.5 on my alienware windows 7 64-bit? ive been trying for 3 days now, still it says error on windows installer package. can anyone help me??

Open regedit using "run as administrator".
    Go to the registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInstallerUserDataS-1-5-1 8Components
    ...and selected the folder DA42BC89BF25F5BD0AF18C3B9B1A1EE8
(there are three folders with very similar names A,B & C you want the first one)
    Right click & choose Permissions
Click Advanced, and then the Owner tab
Type  (not administrators) in current owners field and check the box to replace the owner on subcontainer and volumes
Apply settings and then click Permissions tab. Once again, add  (not administrators) to the list of permission entries, then click edit and check all permission boxes. Also click the 2 bottom boxes concerning the inheritable permissions.
[Note: In my case I was a member of administrators and administrators was already set in all of the above settings - I've no idea why it needed to be set to my user rather than the administrator group, anyway it solved the problem for me]
    Click OK
Now back on the main permissions tab, add  in the user name window and then check full control and read checkboxes. Click OK.
On the menu bar click file > exit
But if u have the message pop up more then once then just make the permissions for the entier S-1-5-18Components folder
