[SOLVED: corrupted FS] Why is pthread not found?

Hi,
I'm sure this is a stupid problem since i'm way too tired, but i have to get this fixed. I've been looking on google for hours, and i can't seem to find my answer.
I'm trying to build player/stage. I tried both the player-svn package in AUR and manually compiling from a svn checkout.
My problem is that it cannot seem to find pthread.h with its cmake. I tried everything i could think of to link to it. phtread.h exists in /usr/include and boost is installed. Yet, cmake can't see to find it.
I have installed base-devel and everything i could think of, but it still fails.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Jni

    Hello,
    Is it possible to take another picture of MAX? That one is very pixilated and I can't quite make out the configuration/error. Does the chassis show up? Every now and then MXI compatibility software is needed for certain BIOS versions so this may be the cause. Did the system work ever before?

    Not sure why typing 'gimp' is bringing up 'gimpshop', but anyhoo...
    I just punched in 'http://mirrors.easynews.com/linux/archl … po/os/i686' into Epiphany and it 404's, so I'd assume it's down at the mo. Meantime, if you go into your mirrorlist and uncomment whichever 'Server = *' is closest to you (you could just do any of them, but the nearest ones will give you better performance) and comment out that bottom line.
    All going to plan, that should sort it.

    I tried manually browing to my top mirror in Firefox and had the same problem.  It's only for this one file though.  The rest of the packages that were marked for upgrade downloaded succesfully.  Try going here first:
    http://mirror.us.leaseweb.net/archlinux … os/x86_64/
    You can scroll down and see catalyst-dkms-12.9-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz on the list but when you try to click it:
    http://mirror.us.leaseweb.net/archlinux … pkg.tar.xz
    404 error
    EDIT: Actually after letting pacman sit for a minute, I got this:
    catalyst-dkms-12.9-... 4.2 KiB 64.0K/s 00:00 [######################] 100%
    (14/14) checking package integrity [######################] 100%
    error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package)
    Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
    Obviously 4.2KB is too small for this package.  I'm really not sure what's going on here.
    EDIT 2: Before anyone suggests it, I did try force refreshing the database multiple times (pacman -Syy)

    I had just a similar issue with freeglut. When this happens, an update is probably in progress. Just wait a few minutes or try a different mirror. In my case it was sufficient to use the US mirror of Leaseweb (http://mirror.us.leaseweb.net/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch). I am able to download the catalyst DKMS package now, try again?

  • [SOLVED] Appcelerator Titanium Studio: Android SDK Not Found

    Hello,
    This is my first post here, as it is my first week of using arch linux
    I have a problem using Appcelerator Titanium Studio. I have installed android sdk but whenever I select it's location through the titanium studio configuration window, it shows the error "Android SDK not found at the specified path":
    MOD EDIT -- Please follow image posting rules -- Inxsible
    What I tried and did:
    1. Installed Android-SDK through yaourt in /opt/android-sdk, updated all packages through ./android, copied adb into "tools" as suggested by appcelerator. Tried selecting this directory in titanium, did not work.
    I tried all of the following paths:
    /opt/android-sdk
    /opt/android-sdk/
    /opt/android-sdk/tools
    /opt/android-sdk/platform-tools
    2. Installed Android-SDK manually by downloading the latest binaries: http://dl.google.com/android/android-sd … ux_x86.tgz into ~/android-sdk
    I updated all packages there again though ./android and tried selecting all paths I could think of related to that directory in titanium studio, did not work again.
    3. I thought maybe folder permissions are the problem but even a 777 wouldn't work.
    4. I checked the titanium log file and here is the error shown: http://pastebin.com/2XRJ1xyx
    Here is the script mentioned in the error: http://pastebin.com/jXvaa23M
    5. I also tried setting #!/usr/bin/env python2 in the script since the default interpreter is python 3 in my system, did not work.
    Additional Info: I have Sun JDK 64bit, JRE, tried both 32 & 64 of Titanium Studio, the 32 one didn't want to run at all.
    I can confirm that android SDK works since the emulator is running flawless.
    So at this point I can't continue anymore and have no idea where to go next :S
    any help / experiences appreciated.

  • [solved] yaourt -Sb [package]: [package] was not found on abs

    If I try to build anything from source with yaourt, it says it's not on abs.  However, the packages I am trying to build are in the abs.  For example,
    [max@pwn xorg-server]$ yaourt -Sb xorg-server
    ==> Building xorg-server from sources
    xorg-server was not found on abs
    xorg-server exists in /var/abs/extra, and the files to build it are there.  What can I do to fix this?

    i'l try and have a look at yaourt tonight,

  • [SOLVED] Can't boot computer (device not found)

    On boot (both Normal and Fallback) I get:
    Waiting 10 seconds for device /dev/disk/by-uuid/d3c4f22d-65c6-4e06-bcc1-752db552061
    ERROR: device '/dev/disk/by-uuid/d3c4f22d-65c6-4e06-bcc1-752db552061' not found
    Skipping fsck
    And then it drops to a shell, and I need to use "exit" to run, but it requires me to choose a boot partition (I tried exit /dev/sda1 and others but it says invalid number).
    I know there are many posts on that, but since I believe this is a specific issue (I updated kernel last night with -Syyu'd), I decided to make my own.
    Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

    edit: I'm way too slow
    ephan wrote:

    # chroot .
    # pacman -Syu udev mkinitcpio
    # mkinitcpio -p linux
    About that, I have some questions...
    1. How long can it take?
    2. How dangerous is it?
    3. Is it really what I need?
    4. Can I lose files? Since I can't boot, is there a way to save them?
    5. In order to find out what my root partition is, can I use Gparted?
    5.1. Can I not use an Arch Live CD and use Ubuntu for example? It's much easier to do it.
    6. How do I know if I have a separate boot partition? I have all /dev/sda's, and one of them is boot I think. Don't we all have?
    Sorry and thank you!
    Also, and I want to make this clear, I did *not* use force on pacman, I never do.
    So, what caused?
    I just updated it normally, like I always do, was it some arch error everybody else experienced?
    1) The time to boot the live cd, type the commands and like 30 seconds for mkinitcpio.
    2) lol, not dangerous
    3) Since it's in the Q&A: most probably.
    4) You can always lose files. Just boot a live cd, mount the partitions you want to save and the partition you want to save it to and copy (or rsync).
    5) I don't think so, unless you gave your partitions a descriptive label. Just mount partitions until you find the root.
    5.1) I don't think so.
    6) If you find your root partition: if /boot is empty, you have a separate boot partition. You can check your fstab to see which one.
    What caused? dunno
    Was it something everybody experienced: no
    Good luck! Just follow the instructions, it's not that hard.

  • [solved]yaourt local database save - command not found

    i tried following this link to save yaourt packages to a local folder, but i get an error
    [root@myhost yaourt]# yaourt -Syu --devel --aur
    /etc/yaourtrc: line 49: ExportToLocalRepository: command not found
    comments at this page with similar errors doesnt offer any solution.
    what am i missing here?
    Last edited by hadrons123 (2011-11-19 17:07:15)

    1.first thing i just added the line
    ExportToLocalRepository /var/cache/pacman/pkg-local
    to the bottom of the yaourtrc file as per the wiki and ended up with the error.
    /etc/yaourtrc: line 49: ExportToLocalRepository: command not found
    2.after falconindy's idea i added #
    #ExportToLocalRepository /var/cache/pacman/pkg-local
    but now i dont see the error but then package is not getting saved in the pkg-local folder.
    3.karol i tried your step,but still the packages are not saved in the pkg-local folder.
    this is yaourtrc file after the edits but still packages are not saved....

  • [SOLVED] Make Bash Completion Error (Command Not Found)

    When attempting to tab complete the `make` command, I am met with the following when I hit tab:
    $ make s[tab]bash: 23:set: command not found
    Strangely, if I continue hitting tab, it seems to work eventually, but with the same error popping up:
    $ make s[tab]bash: 23:set: command not found
    ched.[tab]bash: 23:set: command not found
    [tab]bash: 23:set: command not found
    sched.1.gz sched.tar.gz
    $ make sched.
    I've never seen anything like this.  I've tried reinstalling bash completion and make to no success.  The Makefile itself is fine and functional.  Other programs' bash completions seem to work just fine.  Help!
    Last edited by goakley (2014-03-23 13:56:50)

    It seems the problem no longer occurs.  The only change that seems to have happened is a bash-completion upgrade that happened yesterday.  I'm a bit disappointed to have not found the actual issue.

  • [Solved] service script file or directory not found but can open.

    Hey all,
    After struggling with creating a systemd user service + timer, i finally got it work. When i needed to install my arch again, and did the same steps as i did last time, my service file says it can't find the script at the ExecStart.
    The weird thing is, i can open the script with nano and can see it in the file manager so i don't know where to look now.
    These are my services files and timer located in /home/username/.config/systemd/user/
    [Unit]
    Description=Sync grive every 5 minutes
    [Timer]
    OnBootSec=2min
    OnUnitActiveSec=5min
    Unit=drive_sync.service
    [Install]
    WantedBy=default.target
    [Unit]
    Description=Sync grive
    [Service]
    ExecStart=/etc/drive_script.sh
    And this is the script called in /etc/
    #!bin/bash
    cd /home/jordy/Google\ Drive/
    grive
    I enabled the time with systemctl --user enable drive_sync.timer and it's running but after 5 minutes i check the status of drive_sync.service with systemctl --user status drive_sync.service and it says: "Failed at step ExecStart=/etc/drive_script.sh: No such file or directory" But this file really does exist.
    I also ran sudo chmod u+x /etc/drive_script.sh but this didn't work.

    That message looks a little strange, but you also removed all context. In your previous thread (which you should probably mark as solved now?) you were pointed to a sticky about posting complete commands/output/error messages, but you are (still) not doing that. Just put the command and its output in code tags in your post. Don't do any rephrasing, translating, interpreting or other editing to obscure details (unless it's a password or something like that).
    I also ran sudo chmod u+x /etc/drive_script.sh but this didn't work.
    Does your user ("username" or "jordy") own that file? Otherwise that is not enough (but the error would mention something about permission issues). And /etc/ doesn't seem like a really appropriate place for a script and if it's only for a specific user, you might put in somewhere under ~ (but that is something you can consider after you get it working with the current location).
    sorry, I don't know how to mark the post. Still looking how the forums work so sorry for any misunderstandings,
    I tried again with a clean start. Removed the previous services and such and created them directly, So i am sure i own the file. I created the script in my home directory and then copied it to /etc with sudo cp.
    Sorry about not posting the error in codes. I didn't know i had to put the error also in code tags, only the scripts.
    this happens after the timer has reached it's execution time and executes the drive_sync.service:
    failed at step exec spawning /etc/drive_script.sh: no such file or directory

  • [Solved] Can't boot, root device not found

    I recently performed an update of udev and my kernel and after this I am unable to boot the normal kernel or the fallback. When I try I get this error:
    ERROR: Unable to find root device '/dev/disk/by-uid/03619a2f-908f-4724-ba4b-1fb3985e382b' You are being dropped to a recovery shell Type 'exit' to try and continue booting sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
    Typing exit results in me dropping to another shell and if done repeatedly a kernel panic. I attempted to boot via the grub console using the sda device block but I came up with the same error. When I look in /dev through the recovery console that comes up the sda* blocks aren't present.
    I need to know if there is a way to do this without entirely reformatting my system, I also don't have easy access to another computer but I have an android phone. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    This has been solved.
    For anybody's reference:
    From the recovery shell I had to load the modules ahci and sd_mod and that got the sda* to appear in /dev. After that I had to mount /dev/sda3 (my root partition) under /root and /new_root and then enter 'exit' to continue booting.
    Pretty much:
    modprobe ahci
    modprobe sd_mod
    mount /dev/sda3 /root
    mount /dev/sda3 /new_root
    exit
