[SOLVED] Generating GUID from BPEL for outbound transactions

Hello all,
I am trying to generate a GUID for outbound transactions from BPEL. As documented in Generating GUID with ora:generateGUID() , the GUID generated by ora:generateGUID is a different format than is expected by the B2B server (37 vs 32 digits).
Is there any solution or workaround for this?
Kind regards,
John

User,
Thanks for the help. Just to clarify for everyone...
There are 2 GUID generators that you can access, one in the BPEL side that generates funny 37-digit GUID's, and one in the XSLT (as user pointed out) that generates a proper 32-digit GUID. (S)he is correct as well about the formatting using concat to format the GUID properly for B2B.
In addition, in case there are those of you out there who are not using XSLT, I found a reasonable Java-based GUID generator at http://javaexchange.com/aboutRandomGUID.html A simple modification to the "toString()" method to put the braces around the GUID makes it useful in this case also.

John

  • Generating XML from RPD for a particular SUbject Area

    Hello All,
I have one requirement to generate the .xml file from the RPD for a particular subject area.
Uisng biserverxmlgen we can generate the .xml file for the entire rpd. But can it be specific to a subject area and its related BMM and Physical objects.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Ambika

    Hi,
    Just open the rpd offline,
Go to Tools -> Utilities -> Generate Metadata Dictionary  -> Execute
and then you will be asked to to select the target folder to save that. It might take some time if the repository is very big (but max 5mins)
once execution was successful, you will have a folder with the same name of repository. Select 'SubjectArea' in these folder where you will have all you presentation catalog folder and take only the folder which you want. Presentation catalog would be in extension 'PRCAT_SubjectAreaName0000'. You will have all the xml files.
    Hope it helps!

  • Generate script from SQL for database creation

    Hi,
as we have DBMS_METADATA to get scripts for constraints , is there any way by which we can get scripts used for database creation from existing databases
    Thanks
    kedar

Thanks for the ODB tool. I'm trying to connect with SYS but ODB tool replied :
Unable to make connection : connection to sys should be sysdba or sysoper
How do I tell it to connect "as sysdba" ? I tried putting that in "User Name" field but it didn't work.
Also, when I create a new connection and try to save it, it will prompt me to :
Setup user preferences for this instance
and then popped up the window for "Set Options and Preferences"
My question is, after I saved this connection, how do I go back into this window to edit it ? I don't see any button for it.
    Thanks again

  • [SOLVED]Purge wine from system for reinstall

Ok I downloaded and installed playonlinux from the official POL site (they have an arch repo). However, POL hangs when I try to install something and when I try to close it I get an error asking that If I want to terminate the application "python"
So I uninstalled POL from my comp but wine its still there and  "sudo pacman -R wine" doesnt work (says there is no suck package or group).
So what I want to do is to purge my arch installation from all wine related stuff and then install wine via the official arch repos and then a GUI frontend for it (POL and any other that works).
How can I do this? regards

Success!!!! WOW packman does really fast uninstalling
Ok now, the best way to install wine would be a 32bit chroot? Or via the wine wiki article? or is there a better way?

  • Smartform for VL02 transaction

    hello all,
I have to create a new smartform label from scratch for Vl01 transaction.I was able to create the basic layout, but I am not able to understand how to declare the tables, variables and the code in the smartform. Do I need to find a user exit and write the code to open read and close the smartform or is there anyother way of doing it.
    Please advice me..
    Thanks
    ~V

You need to maintain the output type for your Z forms to be attached to it with the VL02.
You can find out the message types for VL02 in the tcode V/34.
Copy the exsisting message type to your message type.. change the name of the form to your z form.. copy the std program which is attached to one of the std message type to Z program and attach it to your message type.

  • Suggestions for Chunking Large Outbound Web Service Messages from BPEL

We have a problem today when Oracle EBS sends a large amount of data to BPEL, BPEL processes that data and then attempts to pass that data as a web service via a partner link to the PeopleSoft integration broker. When the message is too large ( > 10,000 records or so) we are hitting some issues on the PeopleSoft web server side being unable to receive that large of a message.
"allocLargeObjectOrArray - Object size: 32768016, Num elements: 8192000"
We are considering adjusting the BPEL program to chunk the outbound data being sent to PeopleSoft. The idea would be to use some type of loop and just break after so many lines, transmit the current message and then start a new message.
The PeopleSoft integration broker has a setting, for outbound type integrations, that can enable an automated chunking feature called ‘Max App Message Size’. I was wondering, does BPEL have a similar configuration setting that might provide this feature? I’m dreaming up that this could be a property of the partner link object that could allow you to specify a certain ‘max size’ and then it would just know to start a new message at that threshold. That might avoid us having to make any additional BPEL code changes at this point.
    Currently using version 11.1.1.1.
    Any advice, much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Ken

I have found the following tutorial that implements something similiar to what I am trying to do: http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/odi/10g/10135/odiscenario_bpelcallback/odiscenario_bpelcallback.htm#t3
Because of this, I am now confident that the conversation IDs can be used to achieve correlation. I have implemented the pattern by performing
an invoke activity on the web service, passing the result of ora:getConversationId() as part of the message. The conversation Id returned is of UUID-Form.
After the invoke activity, I have added a pick activity to receive the response message supplied by the web service through IDeliveryService.post(...). I can see that the message is received correctly by loooking at the contents of DLV_MESSAGE. However, the pick activity times out every time (after 10m). Looking at DLV_SUBSCRIPTION reveals that the conversation_id for the pick/receive activity is set to a value of the form bpel://localhost/default/MyBpelProcessName~1.0/7610001-BpInv0-BpSeq2.7-2. As far as I know, this should instead be set to the UUID that ora:getConversationId() returned before performing the invoke activity. What is going wrong here?
    Thanks for your help!

  • XML Gateway outbound from BPEL

We are trying to get the data from EBS using BPEL Process through XML Gateway outbound.
We created XML Gateway DTD and Map and successfully posting to ECX_OUTBOUND and other sysyems(WebMethods).
Now we are trying access it from BPEL. We created Receive activity to get the XML Payload from ECX_OUTBOUND. But Process is struck in receive activity. Receive activity is waiting for response.
I am not sure we may be doing some thing wrong. Please help us.

I have created screen-shots to show that.
    Receive
    Variable
    Port
I have also tried adding header variable to receive activity in xml but it's not working
    <receive name="Receive_1" createInstance="yes"
    variable="Receive_1_Dequeue_InputVariable_1"
    partnerLink="ECX_OUTBOUND" portType="ns1:Dequeue_ptt"
    operation="Dequeue" bpelx:headerVariable="Variable_1"/>
    Thanks for your help
    Pawel
What's more: When I change port type operation input message to Header_msg i gets the message to my Variable_1 of type Header_msg but data loaded to it is in format of this PROCESS_PO_007_msg
    I've found in documentation:
    Supporting for Normalized Message Properties
To effectively set applications context values required in a BPEL process or to populate
mandatory header variables for XML Gateway inbound transactions to complete
successfully, Adapter for Oracle Applications provides a flexible mechanism that allows
each context value and header variable to be set and passed in the adapter user interface
directly through the Invoke activity. This message normalization feature not only
provides a flexible solution on header support, but also simplifies the design-time tasks
without using an Assign activity to pass header values.
Setting Message Properties for Applications Context
But there is nothing about Outbound transactions....

  • Performance problem for mass transactions after upgrade from 4.7 to ECC6.0

    Hi All,
After upgrade from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 (IS-U), mass transactions such as FPY1, FPVA, FP04M are taking very long time to complete. for example, before upgrade the jobs sceduled for FPVA transaction take around 5k-6k seconds. Whereas after upgrade the jobs for FPVA with the same variant takes around 9k-10k seconds. I am unable to figure out the cause for exponential increase in the duration of several mass-jobs (after the upgrade). Are there any SAP notes or do we need to do any customizing setting to solve this problem? Does anyone face this kind of problem?
    Thanks in advance
    Taj

    Hi,
This is normal after upgrade to 6.0, I have faced the same in all upgrades I've done and some others that I have involved also. If you did not requests and going live upgrade check I strongly recomend to schedule an Early Watch Check to minimize the impact. Times won´t be the same but can be very close if the system is tuned well. We have tuned systems that now run with good performance after this services.

We have the outbound agreement which is sending that Functional ack 997 (auto generated by oracle b2b) and we have specified the Outbound AS2 channel of the Partner.
997 doc is being sent to external partner using AS2 channel, but the filename is generating as '40101'.
Please can you let me know how to set the AS2 fileName for outbound Functional Ack 997 auto generated by Oracle B2B.
    Appreciate your valuable answers!!
    Thanks,
    Amirineni

    Amirineni,
AFAIK, there is no option to set the file name when the 997 is generated automatically by B2B.
Alternatively, if this is a must requirement, you can generate the FA from backend and  send to B2B with MSG_TYPE =9. In this case, you can set the header with filename (How to set the actionname property in B2B 11g)

  • RDS 2012 R2: A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the (name-of-service) service

    Hi guys,
On a random base (daily, weekly) we're experiencing major log-in problems on our Windows Server 2012 R2 Remote Desktop Services farm. The VM's are hosted on Hyper-V 2008 hosts and we're not using Citrix techniques etc.
Users are reporting that they cannot log-in, the log-in sessions hangs with a blank screen when loading their user profile (e.g. Please Wait For The User Profile Service).
In the System event log of the server on which the user is logging on the following errors are shown:
    Source:        Service Control Manager
    Date:          23-12-2014 7:28:01
    Event ID:      7011
    Task Category: None
    Level:         Error
    Keywords:      Classic
    User:          N/A
    Description:
A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the UmRdpService service.
…and after 30 (or sometimes 60) seconds, the same error only another service (in random order):
A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the UmRdpService service.
…and after exactly 30 seconds, the same error only another service:
A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the UxmSms service.
    etcetera, with the following errors:
A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the Netman service.
A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the AudioEndPointBuilder service.
A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the WPDBusEnum service.
A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the NlaSvc service.
The Portable Device Enumerator Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the TrkWks service.
A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the UmRdpService service.
    These errors are logged continuously.
An administrator cannot solve this since he isn't able to login in as well (console or remotely), only a hard reset of the VM is possible to use the affected server again.
I took different steps to solve this problem without any success, like:
    - Installing the latest Windows updates
    - Removed unnecessary printer drivers, print monitors and print processors (no local printers/drivers are installed, only Remote Desktop Easy Printer driver is used)
    - Searched different forum posts, but found only hotfixes for Windows Server 2008 R2.
Can someone please help me with this annoying problem?
    Many thanks!!
    EDIT:
Of course is increasing the time-out not really an option here... http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/13765.event-id-7011-service-timeout.aspx

    Hi Jeroentjuhh,
1)Do you see this problem on all VM's or only on Windows 2012 R2 server?
2)Are these VMs' in hyper-v cluster?
3)Do you see event id 56 or 50? Please see the below link if it helps you to resolve these events.

This is happening when invoking a webservices from BPEL and if it takes more than 5 minutes we are getting above Error
we have tried out SyncMaxWaitTime Property in BPEL configurations through SOA administration menu of EM. Also tried by increasing JTA timeout seconds in Service--JTA @ weblogic console.
    Any suggestion or pointers..

    Hi,
    Could help set the following...
The timeouts should be configured based on the below condition
SyncMaxWaitTime < BPEL EJB's transaction timeout < Global Transaction Timeout
The values could be: SyncMaxWaitTime (3600) ; BPEL EJB's transaction timeout (3600); Global Transaction Timeout JTA (7200)
    Setting the SyncMaxWaitTime :
This is the maximum time a synchronous BPEL process waits before it times out to get the response from another BPEL or a web service
    Login to EM console
Expand SOA and right click on "soa-infra"
From context menu, select SOA Administration –> BPEL properties
Click on "More BPEL Configuration properties"
Enter the appropriate value for the SyncMaxWaitTime
Setting the global transaction timeout at Weblogic Domain Level:
This property controls the transaction timeout seconds for active transactions. If the transaction is still in the "active" state after this time, it is automatically rolled back.
Log into Oracle Weblogic Administration Console.
    Click Services -> JTA.
Change the value of Timeout Seconds to the required value (the default is 30)
    Click Save.
    Restart Oracle Weblogic Server.
Overriding the transaction timeout setting for BPEL EJB's:
The timeout properties for the EJB's control the particular timeout setting for the SOA application, overriding the global setting specified by the JTA timeout
Log into Oracle Weblogic Administration Console.
    Click Deployments.
    Expand soa-infra -> EJBs.
Click on the configuration tab for the timeout setting for each of EJB’s listed below and the change the time out values as required.
Following EJBs need to be updated:
    BPELActivityManagerBean
    BPELDeliveryBean
    BPELDispatcherBean
    BPELEngineBean
    BPELFinderBean
    BPELInstanceManagerBean
    BPELProcessManagerBean
    BPELSensorValuesBean
    BPELServerManagerBean
    Click Save.
    Restart Oracle Weblogic Server.
I hope you find it useful!
    hugs!
