[SOLVED] grep output matching parts only

I want grep to output only what it matched, but according the man page, it will put each matching part on a separate line, which does not work for me. I am matching two numbers, but they don't get output together, but each on a separate line. Any idea how to fix this?
Here is my code:

    Hi all.  I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues.  Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
    But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem.  …without even a re-boot.
    Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
    Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive.  Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab.  Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
    Open the Users folder.
    Open your user folder
    Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
    Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
    Open the Installer Cache folder
    In Details view sort on Name
    Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
    Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
    When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco.  The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”.  Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
    I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
    For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear.  Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?

    searched your post for keywords "JDeveloper" "ADF" "JSF" but could not find them. So are you sure you are posting to the right forum?
    If you have an issue with MS WOrd and PDF then Microsoft and Adobe are the ones to call for help. Jasper Reports also is not owned by Oracle, which is another area you want to investigate

    That would mean you've blown around $30k on iTunes. Are you sure? Are you really going to listen to 60,000 songs that the limit is not enough for you? Is that like the full discography of every artist you know? I already have a couple of hundred cds on iTunes Match and that includes stuff that maybe just maybe I'll listen to someday. Most of it I added for the **** of it.

    Hi.  Thanks for reading. I am looking for a command with the following function:
    1. It searches only the pacakge name, not the description.
    2. However, when a package's name matches the search pattern, it shows the description of this package as well.
    After searching in the forum, now I am using something like:
    pacman -Ss test_string | grep --color=always -B1 -v '^ ' | less -R
    It works nicely in terms of my two requirements. However, I could not get the color output (I have pacman color option) from pacaman even if I used less.
    On the contrary, the following command has normal color output
    ls --color | grep test_string | less -R
    Did I do anything wrong?

    Sorry I am confused... I know expac but it doesn't look like the function I was looking for... I wanted to search those packages whose *name* contains a string. For example the pypy3 is not what I wanted since it only has "python" in its description...

    I hat this problem before but cant remember the solution or find the thread.
    I know it is necessary to make alsa like after the first install but i really cant remember what to do. Just pacman -Rsc alsa-utils and later on pacman -S alsa-utils is not enough.
    if there is anybody who can remember or enlighten my i would be pleased
    Edit: I found some notes of mine. The problem is solved by cutting the rw rights of /etc/rc.d/alsa by chmod a-rw /etc/rc.d/alsa
    Rebooting
    using alsaconf and alsactl store
    adjusting the rights by chmod 755 /etc/rc.d/alsa
    and rebooting

    The ATV is in recovery mode.
    Do as the image suggests and connect the ATV to a computer via a microUSB cable then restore.

    I have searched a lot for this problem, but with no conclusions.. I use my arch linux instalation with Gnome3 and Pulseaudio. I never had this problem with gnome2 and alsa. At work I only use headphones, so I boot the pc with the headphones already connected (maybe an error occured here...), today I was trying to listen to music without the headphones but impossible....
    I have always checked alsamixer (all the channels are in max volume), i had already checked the selected card and the selected output (Analog Speaker, even with analog Output or Analog Headphone it doesn't work)...
    I've already have this issue one time, and I solved i don't really remember who...

    I just upgrade to gnome 3.2 on 2 machines, for the first one I got a glib2 from AUR so it do not work first (it's now solve) but for the second one I still can't login into gnome.

    When I try with gdm in fallback mode using :

    Gdm is working but when I try to login in gnome it freeze.

  • [SOLVED] HDMI output not working

    I just bought myself a home theater system but can't get my laptop to connect to the reciever.
    My laptop is an Asus UX31E with integrated HD 3000 graphics. When I connect a HDMI cable to the reciever (Pioneer VSX-527) it doesn't even detect my laptop. If I go into the Cinnamon/GNOME display settings, it doesn't even show that I'm connected to an external display.
    In pavucontrol I'm able to select the HDMI as an output, but it doesn't play any sounds on the reciever (which plays just fine from radio, so at least the speakers are connected correctly).
    What to do?

    Hi:
    The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the graphics driver from AMD if you have not already done so.
    Your notebook is not supported by HP for W7, and especially not supported for 32 bit operating systems.

    As a last resort, try manually installing the W7 x64 graphics driver from your notebook's support and driver page (sp66999).
    I explored the driver folder, and there are 32 bit drivers included in that file.

    Hi all,
    I need some advice.
    Firstly in BinaryCode.txt the data is as such:
    Replace BinaryCode0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
    Replace BinaryCode0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1
    Replace BinaryCode1 1 1 1 0 1 1 1 1 1
    Replace BinaryCode1 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
    the first line in the text file is the header. So I need to check if the names in the second column (BinaryCode0 or BinaryCode1)appear in the Timed_Sets.txt file.
    The data in Timed_Sets.txt is as such:
    BinaryCode0,6,40,.........................
    BinaryCode0,7,40,.........................
    BCName1,0,20,.............................
    BCName1,1,20,............................. 
    For example since  BinaryCode0 is a match I will output the entire row in Timed_Set.txt to another array. 
    I have been working on a program but I don't get the expected output. 
    The text files and the VI are attached.
    I appreciate your kind assistance in the matter.

    If I understood correctly what the output should be then what you basically need to do is to walk through the column in BinaryCode.txt and for each unique value pull out the corresponding rows from Timed_Sets.txt. There's a variety of ways to do this, depending on how much data you have and whether or not you can use any kind of prior knowledge as to the actual file content (such as the names of the keys being searched). Attached is one way. Modify as needed.

  • If I have a part that is repeating in 2 different projects can I have that common part only in one sub-project

    I have 2 different projects in RoboHelp 11 that have a "common" part, i.e. several chapters are identical, eventually with minor changes that could be solved with flags, and I was wondering if it would be possible to have the "common" in a sub-project that I could manage for both other projects.

    No, not RoboSource Control.
    If you click View > Pods > Resource Manager, you should see the Resource Manager pop open. From there, you are able to create a location that would be "shared" between projects or between authors.
    So you create a location, then take the topics that are "common" and place them into that spot by dragging from the project to the Resource Manager window. RoboHelp should make copies there. Then in the other project, you open the Resource Manager and drag the topics from the Resource Manager window to the project. Perhaps one of the topics is named: Feeding Alligators
    Once you have done this, perhaps you change some text or add an image to the "Feeding Alligators" topic. Resource Manager should then prompt you to say that the topic in your project no longer matches the topic in the Resource Manager. You should have an option to synchronize it. And at that point, the process should copy the topic from the project to the Resource Manager location. Then when you open the other project, Resource Manager would then again tell you that what is in the Resource Manager is different than what is in the project. And offer an option to synchronize it. And at that point, the content would be copied from the Resource Manager to the project.
    Pretty slick when you think about it!

  • [solved]RAID1 array is showing only one disk

    Hi,
    I configured RAID1 on my Arch Linux system. Sometime during the past few days (I don't know when) I think SATA cable of one of the disks (sda) went loose. I got a hint by some error messages in dmesg output.
    I realized this only today. To minimize the damage I rebooted the system, made sure that all connectors are connected properly and booted it again. Now the system is up and running, but what I see is that only one disk is being used at this time around.
    # cat /proc/mdstat

    I want to enable the other disk as well. The other disk has sda6 as the partition with is used in RAID1 array.

    I am seeing the following. I am booting from this system and yet it says no md superblock detected on /dev/md0, while for the two partitions which are part of this RAID1 array there doesn't seem to be any problem.
