    If yes do it like this;
    You need 3 files..just for simplifying the problem..
    create a batch file like ...... mybatch.bat (should have *.bat* extension)Why should it have the *.bat* extension? Why not *.cmd*? I've been around since before DOS 2.0 and remember that .cmd was supposed to replace .bat. Interesting discussions if you google "bat vs. cmd".
    insert below commands there..
    sqlplus /nolog @c:\sqlpluscom.sql
    rman target=/ cmdfile="c:\rmancom.sql"
    Now create sql file like below and place it in C:\ drive and insert commands below

  • [SOLVED] How to automatically mount USB drives with custom mount point

    edit:
    Original title was : 'Unable to mount USB disk via /etc/rc.local', but got changed since the /etc/rc.local problem isn't relevant for me anymore.
    Hello,
    Since I am new to this forum, I'll start off with this :
    Thanks to archlinux, its founder and all its contributors, cause this is the operating system (flavour) that annoys me the least.
    The root problem :
    I want to automount USB storage devices to other places than /media/ and without the need for programs that depend on gnome and the like. As I tried some stuff with hald and such, I didn't really get to a nice and easy to configure solution. Any hints in that direction are always welcome.
    For now, automount of known USB storages devices during boot, will do.
    So the things I tried and didnt work :
    1.
    Provide the disk info to /etc/fstab (via the disks UUID and 'auto' filesystem)
    Add 'mount /mountpoint' to /etc/rc.local
    Result : the mount command in rc.local says '... specify filesystem'
    However, after boot, running /etc/rc.local mounts the USB disks correctly.
    2.
    Provide the disk info to /etc/fstab (via the disks UUID and the correct filesystem)
    Add 'mount /mountpoint' to /etc/rc.local
    Result : pc doesn't get through boot process and gives me the 'ctrl-d to reboot or root passwd for maintenance'
    3.
    Provide no disk info in /etc/fstab
    Add the full mount line to /etc/rc.local (mount -t fs /dev/disks/by-uuid/MyUUID /MyMountpoint )
    Result : don't remember the output of the mount execution, but well, it didn't mount
    However, after boot, running /etc/rc.local mounts the USB disks correctly.
    Is there something that isn't loaded at the time of rc.local execution that I need for mounting of USB devices ? Or why else is this failing ?

    Thanks for the hint hunterthomson, but the pc I will be using it on, is an own-built HTPC/home file server, so there is no way I want to use a graphical file manager to get the usb disks mounted.
    I tried to figure out a little about udev rules, and I got to do what I wanted to do, so thx for pointing me in that direction Mr.Elendig.
    Btw, I am indeed also using auto-sleep/park disks, but this udev way works perfectly.
    I added two rules files to /etc/udev/rules.d/ :
    The first for a known usb disk (with its volume uuid), with a named mountpoint under my media dir /symbiosis/ :
    [basik@plox ~]$ cat /etc/udev/rules.d/80-usb-utopia.rules
    ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="sd[b-z][0-9]", ENV{ID_FS_UUID}=="a59332c2-07ba-4c52-afb5-20e361bdf71a",SYMLINK+="usb-%n", GROUP="storage", NAME="%k"
    ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="sd[b-z][0-9]", ENV{ID_FS_UUID}=="a59332c2-07ba-4c52-afb5-20e361bdf71a",RUN+="/bin/mkdir -p /symbiosis/utopia"
    ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="sd[b-z][0-9]", ENV{ID_FS_UUID}=="a59332c2-07ba-4c52-afb5-20e361bdf71a", RUN+="/bin/mount -t auto -o rw,noauto,sync,dirsync,noexec,nodev,noatime /dev/%k /symbiosis/utopia", OPTIONS="last_rule"
    ACTION=="remove", KERNEL=="sd[b-z][0-9]", ENV{ID_FS_UUID}=="a59332c2-07ba-4c52-afb5-20e361bdf71a", RUN+="/bin/umount -l /symbiosis/utopia", OPTIONS="last_rule"
    The second for unknown usb disks, to mount under the same dir. This is simply taken from the archwiki http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ude … .26_Tricks
    Make sure these rules are executed after the ones for specific usb disks.
    [basik@plox ~]$ cat /etc/udev/rules.d/usb-disks.rules
    KERNEL=="sd[a-z]", NAME="%k", SYMLINK+="usb%m", GROUP="storage", OPTIONS="last_rule"
    ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="sd[a-z][0-9]", SYMLINK+="usb%n", GROUP="storage", NAME="%k"
    ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="sd[a-z][0-9]", RUN+="/bin/mkdir -p /symbiosis/usb%n"
    ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="sd[a-z][0-9]", RUN+="/bin/mount -t auto -o rw,noauto,sync,dirsync,noexec,nodev,noatime /dev/%k /symbiosis/usb%n", OPTIONS="last_rule"
    ACTION=="remove", KERNEL=="sd[a-z][0-9]", RUN+="/bin/umount -l /symbiosis/usb%n"
    ACTION=="remove", KERNEL=="sd[a-z][0-9]", RUN+="/bin/rmdir /symbiosis/usb%n", OPTIONS="last_rule"
    These may not be the nicest looking udev rules, but it works for what I wanted to do with it.

  • How to automatically run javascript code from Captivate 3?

    Howdy everyone,
    My company uses a custom webpage to display the finished SWF files generated by Captivate 3.  This page has menu buttons on the side that link to other videos that are related to the video being watched.
    We want to add a little bit of spice to the menu, and highlight the next video in the series after the current SWF has finished playing.
    Now I know that Captivate 3 will launch a Javascript code when either a button is pushed, a text box is used, or a clickbox is activated, but we are looking for a way for Captivate 3 to launch a Javascript code apart from user input.  Any suggestions?

    Hi there
    One of the options you have available when Captivate finishes playing a movie is to Execute JavaScript. Perhaps use that?

    I can't seem to get my iMac (late 2009 model) into automatic sleep mode.  If I manually put it into sleep I don't have any issues.
    I used to solve the issue by running "PleaseSleep" application but that doesn't work anymore since Lion. I now want to fix the underlying problem.
    I'm not running any weird background processes and in my energy saver settings I've tagged "put the hard disk to sleep when possible:, "allow power button to put computer to sleep" and "automatically reduce brigthness". All pretty standard.
    Is there anyone who can give me some pointers ?

    Today I solved the same problem for my iMac running Snow Leopard. See https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3008791#15947706. The method may help you, too.
    For me it was the DynDNS Updater preventing my iMac from automatically entering sleep mode.
    To my knowledge the cause of this sleep problem can only be a peripheral device or a process. So I suggest to first unplug all peripherals and test whether that's the cause. If not, I suggest to terminate one process after another and to test automatic entering of sleep mode after each. Start with user processes; continue with system process if necessary.
    At least that's the way I found the offending process. Fortunately, I was able to change the configuration of that process to allow again automatic entering of sleep mode.
    Good luck!

  • How can I disable the Photos app from automatically running when I plug in my iPhone?

    How can I disable the Photos app from automatically running when I plug in my iPhone?
    I have no intention of ever using Photos, in fact, having to abandon Aperture takes me one step close to moving back to Windows, but I digress.
    I just want to NOT have to kill the Photos app every time I plug in my phone.
    Thanks.

    I am still seeing the option Image Capture, like shown in the screenshot that Rysz posted.   But it is another example of the hide-and-seek Apple likes to play with us.
    The option has to be set for each device individually. With the device connected to USB, you have to click the tiny disclosure triangle in the lower left corner of the sidebar to reveal the option.
    I was perfectly happy with the program I paid for (Aperture), and now to maintain the functionality I have to pay for another application (LightRoom) to get the functionality that I paid for in Aperture.
    Aperture 3.6 is working well with Yosemite. I will use it, as long as I have a Mac, that will run Yosemite or a compatible system.
    Have you looked at Capture One?  It looks much more similar to Aperture than Lightroom.

  • [SOLVED] How to install and run (on debian) a separate, downlevel version of firefox for the F5/firepass VPN?

    (Note: my problem is similar to [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/931534?e=es&as=aaq another current problem] except that
    * OP is running windows (I'm running a debian linux)
    * OP is asking a more general question (how to fix?) while I'm asking for details on a proposed fix)
    I'm currently running
    $ lsb_release -ds
    Linux Mint Debian Edition
    $ cat /etc/debian_version
    wheezy/sid
    $ uname -rv
    3.2.0-2-amd64 #1 SMP Sun Mar 4 22:48:17 UTC 2012
    $ iceweasel --version
    Mozilla Iceweasel 13.0.1
    I'd like to continue running an uplevel iceweasel ([http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozilla_Corporation_software_rebranded_by_the_Debian_project which is firefox]) but apparently need to run a downlevel version in order to run a particular vendor-supplied plugin. How best to do that (i.e., with minimal performance degradation, and without affecting my package management)? Or is there another way to solve the general problem (running the F5 Network Access Plugin)? Why I ask:
    My employer is giving me remote access via a SecurID token and the F5 Network Access Plugin (F5NAP). The latter is in fact a browser plugin, which seems to me an odd way to implement a VPN, but it's the only offered option. Unfortunately,
    * the only browsers supported for linux are Firefox 3 and Firefox 8 (per [http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_apm/manuals/product/apm_compatibility_matrix_10_2_1.html this]--scroll to "Linux Operating Systems")
    * my primary laptop runs LMDE (see above) with Iceweasel 13 (from the mozilla.debian.net repository), which I want to keep. (It's the uplevel browser, dammit !-)
    So I first tried to install the F5NAP on my iceweasel, hoping it was sufficiently like the listed versions. I browsed to my employer's site, logged in using the token, and followed the link to install the plugin. Unfortunately, that failed: the xpi began running, but then quit with the message
    > F5 Network Access Plugin could not be installed because it is not compatible with Iceweasel 13.0.1
    Hoping for a simple workaround, I told the often-useful User Agent Switcher plugin to emulate Firefox 8, but no fix. Hence it seems like I will hafta
    * install Firefox 3 or Firefox 8
    * run that downlevel browser whenever I want remote access
    * run the uplevel browser for everything else
    This definitely seems like a kludge, so I am open to alternatives. Meanwhile I'm wondering:
    # Which of the F5-supported downlevel browsers (Firefox 3 or Firefox 8) has the smaller memory footprint?
    # How to install the downlevel browser so that it does not interfere with my uplevel browser's configuration, operation, and updating via debian package management?
    # How to run the downlevel browser so that its operation does not interfere with my uplevel browser? I know firefox typically wants to run singleton.

    @[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/user/160087 verdi]: thanks for your helpful suggestions. The "fix" (actually a kludge, but I gotta work with what F5 and my employer give me) was:
    # Install/run latest Firefox 3 (despite there being [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/932269 no 64-bit version for linux]) using [https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BzDAFHgIxRzKbmJDUGZqTzhfbDg this bash scriptlet].
    # Create a [https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BzDAFHgIxRzKQjRyQndqUTJpRXM run script] to start firefox so that one can
    #* choose the appropriate profile (I was unable to set it from the script without startup error)
    #* run multiple instances (I don't want 3.x firefox touching my uplevel profile)
    # Run Firefox 3.x with the runner, then point it to my employer's site to install the [http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_apm/manuals/product/apm_compatibility_matrix_10_2_1.html F5 Network Access Plugin] (restarting firefox as required).
    The gnome-terminal tab from which I invoke the runner spews a bazillion "wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64" errors, but the plugin runs, and I can SSH normally (though more slowly) to servers on the VLAN from another terminal tab.

  • How do i stop programs from automatically running when i start up my macbook?

    how do i stop programs from automatically running when i start up my macbook?
    programs such as.. email and Skype.
    When i go to system preferences, then users & groups, then to my name, log in items ....this box is clear, i have unchecked everything, yet things still start up......

    sometimes these applications will have a setting in the preferences to not open on login of computer. If you see none of that, you can go into:
    system preferences> Users & Groups > Select your user>Login Items.
    unlock the settings by hitting the lock icon on the bottom left of the window then youll be able to uncheck these things from opening when you log in.

  • How do you automatically run software update using ARD?

    Is there a way to automate running software update and downloading all updates using ARD? My current option is to log into each machine and do it manually. (I am also using a OSX server 10.6 if that helps.)
    Thanks

    Use the the Send UNIX Command option. There's a template in the Miscellaneous section to have the workstations download and install updates; run it as the root user in the Send Command as field so you don't have to worry about a user being logged into each workstation. You can set the command as a task to run on a schedule if you wish.
    Since each workstation will download each update, it's most efficient if you can run a Software Update Server and point your workstations to that instead of directly to Apple. Then you don't have multiple downloads taking up your Internet bandwidth. If you have on a few workstations and/or a really big pipe to the Internet, that may not be a concern for you.

  • [solved] How to run a script on logout?

    I've just migrated from ubuntu and so far I'm really happy with Arch. GNU/Linux really is easier to 'get' with Arch. I've been able to overcome all problems so far with reading previous posts or searching for it by other means, yet this obviously elementary broblem still defies solution.
    - How do I run a script on logout?
    What I want to do on logout is to run 'fusermount -u ~/mounted-dir/', where 'mounted-dir' holds media from my account on another host. I have it set up so that /etc/profile runs ~/.login which in turn runs 'sshfs [email protected]:~/media/ ~/mounted-dir/ -o sshfs_sync -o reconnect'.
    - Is this a reasonable way of Getting Things Done?
    I suspect (as I always do) that there might be a way these things are supposed to be done, this not being it.
