[SOLVED]ld cannot find -l-L/usr/lib -lalleg error
I just installed allegro4 (I know it's outdated but I don't really know much allegro 5 and I need to make a game as a project for school), and everything seems to be working fine. I'm using Code::Blocks. In the Settings->Compiler and Debugger window under the Linker Settings tab I have set
`allegro-config --libs`
When I compile, I get the following error
ld cannot find -l-L/usr/lib -lalleg
I've tried searching for errors similar to this on google but I haven't had much luck.

My guess is that you put `allegro-config --libs` where your IDE expects library name while it should go to where IDE expects linker options.
That worked perfectly. Thank you very much.

The system cannot find the file specified.Windows sockets error code:2.
Hi All,
I am on MDM 5.5 SP6.
I am getting the following error message when trying to logging in to the DM.
The system cannot find the file specified.Windows sockets error code:2.This application will now exit.
Runtime Error :
Program C :\Program Files\SAP MDM 5.5\Data Manager\Datamanager.exe
R6025.
-Pure virtual function call.
And in console also the MDM server is stopped after getting the above error message.
Can anybody tell me what could be the problem?
Thanks & Regards
Sireesha.Hi Sireesha,
According to me, there can be 3 problems,
1. Kindly check whether the MDM server is stopped. If it is, then restart the MDM Server and Load the repository with Update indices.
2. If this error is coming with every repository, the problem will be either in the Version mismatch of the Server and the GUI's you are using. Kindly ensure that the versions for the MDM server and the MDM Gui's Match.
3. If only Data manager Client is giving the problem, then you can un-install and install the DM GUI again.
Along with this, please refer to the link below :

Hope it helps.
Thanks and Regards

I am looking at an issue with users not getting specific group policies.
After searching a number of client computers I found that the following error
The user '*' preference item in the 'User - 6th Form Students Policy {E03166E7-A848-48B5-AA93-97B848AA9C13}' Group Policy object did not apply because it failed with error code '0x80070003 The system cannot find the path specified.' This error was suppressed.
I can find the folder in the Sysvol folder on all of the domain controllers.
The issue with end users seems to be that the proxy settings for internet explorer is not being applied.
Potential problems?
one folder in sysvol entry is empty
\\<server>\SYSVOL\<domain.name>\Policies\{E03166E7-A848-48B5-AA93-97B848AA9C13}\User\microsoft\IEAK\LOCK
or is this our issue
The old method of configuring proxy settings to Internet Explorer 9 has changed?

http://thommck.wordpress.com/2013/11/08/the-new-way-to-configure-internet-explorer-proxy-settings-with-group-policy/Hi all
In administering this policy I am a little confused.
We have a policy that distributes proxy settings in the internet explorer maintenance settings section - however when opening this policy up in GPO editor the internet explorer maintenance section is not present.
I plan to apply the settings via User/preferences/control panel settings/ internet settings (or registry settings from article) however I am unable to edit the settings for internet explorer maintenance and these will persist. Ideas???? -
[SOLVED] LyX cannot find layout/document classes
LyX refuses to produce any output for me because it cannot find article.layout, or any other common layout. This file is installed in /usr/share/lyx/layouts/article.layout.
I have installed texlive-most and texlive-bin. I have installed dvips and the other programs necessary to render files.
I have tried clearing my LyX config several times (rm -rf ~/.lyx) and it hasn't helped. I have removed and reinstalled texlive with various options, including -Rn and -Rc, multiple times. I have also manually removed leftover files from both LyX and texlive. I have told LyX to reconfigure itself several times.
No output will be produced. I thought maybe this was caused by some stray old config file floating somewhere out there but heretofore have not been able to find it or remove it via -Rn. Someone told me that a fresh install of LyX works.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
EDIT: I have also tried updating my PATH to include /opt/texlive/bin as suggested somewhere else on these boards and then running and reconfiguring LyX. It doesn't help.
Last edited by cookiecaper (2010-08-17 17:49:20)Ugh, just solved it. Hopefully this helps someone. I hadn't removed ~/.texlive. Removing that and restarting LyX fixed it.

Anyone can help me tracing in which package the missing file is located (if it's not in compiz-core)?
Last edited by dexgeh (2012-10-16 17:58:39)I managed to solve the issue commenting the --indirect-rendering flag and installing and launching driconf to create a default ~/.drirc file.
I just noticed that in the same upgrade I got intel-dri from 8.x to 9.x version, maybe it's related.
Launching a terminal in .xinitrc and manually launching
LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose compiz --debug --replace ccp
show me a lot of errors, but it's working, and I don't need anymore the --indirect-rendering flag (in the past I put that flag in the command because of the bad performance that compiz had without). -
How to solve the Cannot find oraInventory problem in R12 installation.
I search many places to find this so, i decided to shared for hopl anyone else.
The note Rw-10003 During Rapidwiz Upgrade Install [ID 1266385.1] tell how to solved, crating the oraInst.loc file, but it miss something important, where I have to put it in the oraInst.loc file ? Fortunately, i have accses to others DB where look. You have to cretate the file in the /etc directory. Follows this steps.
1.- Go to the main directory where you gonna install the R12 app and create the follow directory
oraInventory
in my case was /u01/hab_r12/oraInventory
2.- Go to /etc and create a text file with the name OraInst.loc and put this lines
inventory_loc=/u01/hab_r12/oraInventory*
inst_group=dba**
*you must put the root directory of the installation
** the group who have the privilege in DB
3.- Re run the rapidinstall.
I hope this can help someone.

[SOLVED] systemd uses cronie.service in /usr/lib instead of /etc
I've been having a little problem getting systemd to use my custom service file for cronie. I've tried doing the same thing with ntpd and a few other services, and they all work fine.
[root@garrett garrett]# cp /{usr/lib,etc}/systemd/system/cronie.service
[root@garrett garrett]# systemctl reenable cronie.service
rm '/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/cronie.service'
ln -s '/etc/systemd/system/cronie.service' '/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/cronie.service'
[root@garrett garrett]# systemctl status cronie.service
cronie.service - Periodic Command Scheduler
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/cronie.service; enabled)
Active: inactive (dead)
CGroup: name=systemd:/system/cronie.service
Sep 13 21:32:52 garrett /usr/sbin/crond[622]: (CRON) INFO (running with inotify support)
It appears to have something to do with the crond.service symlink to cronie.service, since when I remove it, systemd will use the service file in /etc.
[root@garrett garrett]# rm /usr/lib/systemd/system/crond.service
[root@garrett garrett]# cp /{usr/lib,etc}/systemd/system/cronie.service
[root@garrett garrett]# systemctl reenable cronie.service
rm '/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/cronie.service'
ln -s '/etc/systemd/system/cronie.service' '/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/cronie.service'
[root@garrett garrett]# systemctl status cronie.service
cronie.service - Periodic Command Scheduler
Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/cronie.service; enabled)
Active: inactive (dead)
CGroup: name=systemd:/system/cronie.service
Sep 13 21:32:52 garrett /usr/sbin/crond[622]: (CRON) INFO (running with inotify support)
However, these symlinks don't cause problems in other packages such as with cups.service, which has a symlink cupsd.service. I also tried the same commands above on another arch computer I have that is running systemd and encountered the same results. This just seems really strange, and I'm not exactly sure where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone had such problems before? Just don't tell me this cursed device demands a sacrifice from freshly produced virgin paper sheets to chew on.
Other non-pdf documents print succesfully.just got hit with thie same error on my canon printer, and I was told I should try reinstalling the printer (not sure if that's meant for the driver or the actual printer in CUPS, but I intend to try both...

[SOLVED] upgrade problems because of codecs: /usr/lib/win32
When trying to upgrade my Arch64 I encountered an error with conflicting codecs. The error message says:
error: the following file conflicts were found:
codecs: /usr/lib/win32: exists in filesystem
The codecs which where about to be installed are
codecs-20061203-1
Any hints on that? Do I need to deinstall old codecs and if so why did pacman not succeed?

[Solved] System cannot find inittab at boot
I just installed a fresh, brand-new Arch 64-bit install on an older PC, but on reboot, Arch can't find the "inittab" file.
Specifically, I get this error:
INIT: no inittab file found
Enter runlevel:
And whether I enter init 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, or whatever, it always replys:
INIT: Entering runlevel x
INIT: No processes left in this runlevel
In my Ubuntu 9.04 CD, I can clearly see that "inittab" exists in /etc and I can open it and read it. So why can't Arch find it? I didn't have this problem on my previous installation.
Since I don't know what info you guys need in order to aid me, I'll simply note a few things:
#1) My filesystem
sda5 / ext4 10.0 GiB
sda6 /boot ext2 1.0 GiB
sda7 /etc ext4 1.0 GiB
sda8 /home ext4 130.0 GiB
sda9 /tmp ext4 10.0 GiB
sda10 /usr ext4 20.0 GiB
sda11 /var ext4 10.0 GiB
sda12 swap linux-swap 4.7 GiB
#2) Hardware
Gateway GE614 desktop tower
MSI-6741 motherboard
AMD Athlon64 Processor 3400+ (single-core @ 2.3 GHz)
2 GiB DDR ram
Sapphire ATi RadeonHD 3650
#3) GRUB
Grub's root is defined as "hda (0,5)" which I believe is referring to sda6, or /boot
Last edited by Darkfire Fox (2009-10-21 21:10:56)D'oh!
I see my error now. I'll have to modify my filesystem. But still, why does the Arch installer allow you to select /etc as a mount point if it will cause so much trouble? /usr and /var had to be specified under "custom mount point", but /etc was actually selectable from the list. Oh well, I'll just avoid it from now on.
Solved.

Hi there,
Some clients are having trouble streaming specific app-v packages from a specific distribution point.
sftlog.txt shows the following on the client:

The client was unable to connect to an Application Virtualization Server (rc 2460410A-40002EFD)
I have recreated the DP based on the best practice for removing the DP and re-adding, as we've had other app issues which needed tidying up, but that has not fixed this issue.
I have searched for the above error (The client was unable to connect to an Application Virtualization Server (rc 2460410A-40002EFD) but I get no results.
Please help me with this, I've deleted the DP content and re distributed the content to the DP with no change.. If I remove the DP, the content is able to be streamed from other DP's no problem.
Cheers
Max
Max ChristopherIt looks as though this may have been sorted out - A re bind of the computer cert on the DP to the default website https binding seems to have resolved this for me.

[SOLVED] Need help with glibc and symlinking /lib
So, I consider myself a fairly experienced linux user, and have been an Arch user for the last 3 years, but this glibc-stuff is just too complicated for me.
I tried the following:
> pacman -Syu --ignore glibc
> pacmen -Su
(1/1) checking for file conflicts
error: failed to commit transaction (conflictin
glibc: /lib exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
Alright, lets try the next trick on the wiki-page
> find /lib -exec pacman -Qo -- {} + | grep -v glibc
error: cannot determine ownership of directory '/lib'
error: No package owns /lib/libnss_db-2.15.so
error: No package owns /lib/libcidn-2.15.so
error: No package owns /lib/librt-2.15.so

error: No package owns /lib/libanl-2.15.so
error: No package owns /lib/libnss_dns-2.15.so
error: No package owns /lib/libdl-2.15.so
error: cannot determine ownership of directory '/lib/udev'
error: cannot determine ownership of directory '/lib/udev/rules.d'
error: No package owns /lib/libnsl-2.15.so
error: No package owns /lib/libm-2.15.so
error: No package owns /lib/libnss_nis-2.15.so
error: No package owns /lib/libresolv-2.15.so

error: No package owns /lib/cpp
error: No package owns /lib/libpthread-2.15.so
error: No package owns /lib/libnss_files-2.15.so
/lib/udev/rules.d/45-libnjb.rules is owned by libnjb 2.2.7-1
So, I made a backup, and started deleting the files one by one. All is fine, until I delete "/lib/librt-2.15.so" - date and cat refuses to work.
What am I supposed to do here? The wiki suggests to move or delete all the files to /usr/lib - How do I know what to delete and what to move?
Last edited by graph (2012-07-14 21:17:15)Yep, and this shows something interesting: Apperently both libnjb and glibc wants ownership over /lib.
