[SOLVED]Pacman don't want to update on Bash!

Hello,
I got a strange problem by updating my system. When I give the update command in a GNOME terminal Pacman gives the following:

Could someone help me, so that I can update on a Bash terminal?

Hello,
The strange thing is only, that it seems that pacman under X got another mirror then pacman under Bash. I think that is the reason for the different outputs. Is there some way to let pacman use the same mirror under X an bash? Because it's seems that pacman under Bash uses an old and unchanged version of my mirrorlist. Here is my mirrorlist:

I have an iPhone 5 running IOS 6.1.4 and I don't want to update to IOS 7 because I don't like it. Can I download the security fix 6.1.6 or am I now going to have to go with 7.0.6 for this phone?

This was my question exactly. Thanks for getting to the answer even though it's not what I wanted to hear. When I tried calling Apple earlier today to get an answer, I was unceremoniously disconnected twice while on hold for several minutes.

The minimum version required for Viber is 3.1, though it is always important to stay up to date. Why is it that you do not want to download the latest version?

No you can't.  It is iOS 7 or not at all.  You need to update to the lastest software or not at all, so the choice is yours.  Update to the latest software or not at all.  Stick with what you have.
Also stop trolling this forum with the same stupid question to which you have had the same answer time and again.

  • How to disable Mozilla yellow strip, reminding us constantly to "update a plugin", which we don't want to update. Details (RE: Flash) below: bobgorg@ymail

Hello, how to disable the long horizontal Mozilla yellow strip, popping up and reminding us constantly to "update a plugin", which we don't want to update.
    Disabling the ones below:
    1/ plugins.update.notify User;true
    2/ plugin.scan.plid.all;true
    3/ dom.ipc.plugins.enabled;false
either does not help or disables completely Flash! What else to do with this ultra annoying "Update plugins" reminder, as we want to keep the older version 10 of Flash? We just do not want Flash v. 11 - it takes huge amount of CPU, while Version 10 works fine for all 'you tube" and "etc"... videos. No need for V.11. (Let us worry about viruses and security) But here it comes the so annoying Mozilla reminder to upgrade to Flash Version 11 - the yellow strip also takes screen space under the address bar. Please help. Very annoying - almost ready to switch to other browsers if this issue is not resolve. Other than that, the Mozilla 14 is great. Congratulations to all designing it. Thanks in advance. Bob

  • Don't want to update firmware, but AEX keeps blinking

Hey all - unlike a good majority around here, the 7.5 firmware of my AEX has been rock-solid and I really don't want (or need) to update it to 7.5.1 for fear of it going haywire. My Macs, iPhones, iPad, even the PCs all have no issues with AEX.
But Airport Utility (5.5.1) keeps telling me the AEX has a problem, the orange light keeps blinking on the AEX - but the "problem" is only that a new firmware update is available.
Does anybody have an idea how I can tell the AEX to stop warning me about this? I don't mind, but when the message pops up on my wife and kids Macs, they get all worried thinking they've somehow screwed up (another) computer. Thanks.

launch +airport utility+, enter +manual setup+ for your AX, and click on status. you can choose to ignore the problem that's being reported (namely the firmware update).
after that, AU should leave you be.

  • But i don't WANT to update my library!

Ever since i updated iTunes, I am scared to plug in my iPod because i have a lot more songs on my iPod than on my computer, and I don't want them to be updated and deleted. I looked on the support website, and it said to log into another account, plug in your ipod and select "manually manage". Well, I tried doing that, and it started updating my library anyway. So i quickly hit escape so that it would stop. Now I don't know what to do. I want my iPod to be on manual mode, but I don't know how to get to that point without first deleting all of my songs. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

would that have meant that i would have deleted everything on my ipod?
    Yes.
I don't have an explanation for it. Somehow the iPod overrules all settings.
To save the contents of your iPod, try this:
Verify if you have enough space left on the HD to hold the contents of your iPod.
Drag the iTunes application to the Trash. Don't empty the Trash, just drag iTunes to it. Applications can't run when they are in the Trash.
Download Senuti, iPodRip or similar application. You can find the latest versions on versiontracker.com (search for 'iPod' to find more).
When you run Senuti, it will show the contents of your iTunes library.
Connect the iPod. If all goes well (iTunes cannot launch) a small library icon will appear in the Source pane.
Go to the preferences of Senuti, click the 'Copying' icon and uncheck 'iTunes'
Set a 'Save Location:' (create a new folder) and close the preferences.
Then select all songs on the iPod and click the 'Copy' button.
Senuti will now copy all songs to the specified location.
iPodRip requires your iPod to be connected before you can run that application.
Once the contents of your iPod is copied, you can drag the iTunes application from the Trash and put it at it's original location.
Then connect the iPod and let it update. You can now (hopefully) change the settings of the iPod and add the 'missing' songs from the 'Save' folder to your library.

    Edit:
After posting, I now noticed in your first post, you're using OS 9.
I should have noticed it before. If that is correct, all the above won't work.
I have not used OS 9 for a long time and forgotten most of the 'tricks'.
You may try to do similar as written above with 'iPodTrans - 0.5' ( http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/27209 ).
It looks, it can do the job, but I can't guide you through it.

mozilla firefox 3.6.4 doesn't work with real player...can't download any videos...what can i do
    == This happened ==
    Just once or twice
    == update to 3.6.4. version

If you install 3.6.3 and don't want it to automatically upgrade you need to open the browser and select "Tools" from the menu bar. Go to "Options". Select the "Advanced" icon. Go to the "update" tab on the "Advanced" menu. Here you can configure how and what Firefox updates.
    Hope that helps.

  • I got a message that 5.01 update is available. How do I delete this message? I don't want the update.

I got a message that says 5.01 update is available. It says press here to download. I don't want 5.01. How do I delete this message?
Also, back in settings, where you get into diagnostics and usage data, under "About",
How can I delete this data? It just keeps piling up and soon will overshadow any other storage on my phone.
I don't send this data to apple (there is a toggle) nor do I wish to. I just wish to delete it from time to time.
    Any ideas?
P.S. Check your own phone and see the size you have.

  • How can I delete the apps I don't want to update, from the App Store Notification list?

The number of apps, waiting to be updated is growing, and growing!  I want that number to go away.  I am not going to update the ones I don't want.
How can I clear the list, so I only see the number of ones I have not looked at - the new notifications?

You can't clear the notifications unless you udate the apps. There is nothing that you can do about it - unless you delete every trace of those apps everywhere - in iTunes, your iPad, all iDevices .... and I still don't think that totally eliminates the updates. If you download an App and it is tied to your ID, the notifications will appear somewhere - maybe not on the iPad - but in iTunes at least.

So every time I'm prompted to update it to get rid of the notification, it asks me to put in the password of that other account. But the thing is it's not even installed on my Mac, it just tells me I have an update for it. I don't want to pay $5 just to remove it. How do I remove Angry Birds' update if it's from another account?

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
    Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
    Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

  • Don't want the updated iWorks.

Software updates keeps pressing me to update to the new iworks and I don't want it. How can I say no thanks and keep it from forever bugging me again?

Download, install, then delete might work.
The app store would have a record of your 'purchase', but there'd be nothing on your Mac to update.
It's an off the top of my head suggestion that I have NOT tested, so wait a while for any suggestions regarding possible negative results before going ahead.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • TS3367 I don't want to update and even if i did, i don't have enough memory. I use facetime a lot so is this problem going to be fixed or just ignored??

We've been told to update to fix the facetime problem. But the update changes the phone completely which i don't want. Plus i don't have the memory. So are you going to fix this or just take the easy route by telling people to update???!!!

I don't work for Apple, so I cannot commend.
