SOLVED:Poor networking performance (Slow site lookup)

I am dual booting with Windoze on the same machine. Websurfing performance on Arch is poor, and I can't figure out why. Windoze surfing with Firefox is instantaneous, whereas on Arch, I get "looking up http:www.google.com....................." for a good 5 seconds, sometimes 10 or 20 seconds, or more.
It will be fine for a few minutes, and then I get pretty bad stalls like that quite often.
Heres my rc.conf networking section:
lo="lo 127.0.0.1"
eth0="dhcp"
INTERFACES=(lo eth0)
# Routes to start at boot-up (in this order)
# Declare each route then list in ROUTES
# - prefix an entry in ROUTES with a ! to disable it
gateway="default gw 192.168.0.1"
ROUTES=(!gateway)
And my daemons:
DAEMONS=(@syslog-ng @hal @network @netfs @crond @alsa @fam @portmap kdm)
Any ideas?

You might try adding "alias net-pf-10 off" to /etc/modprobe.conf.
Tried this, and it did not work. Same lag when "looking up" sights.

The way I have it set up in my system, and works like a charm, is that I have the nameserver set in the router and in my system.
Ok, this seems to have worked. I plugged the DNS ip entries into the router and my resolv.conf, but DHCPD rewrites the resolv.conf on each reboot. I will consult the wiki to correct that, but even with just the DNS info in the router alone, I tried it out for a good 10 minutes and it was zippy fast, just like Windoze and PCLinuxOS (on my other HD).
I will wait a day before renaming the thread as "SOLVED", so I can test ouit the results more thoroughly.
Now, can anyone explain why it works fast under Windoze and PCLinuxOS, but Arch needs the DNS settings? Or is it just one of those weird unexplainable things?
I am using a D-Link router, if it matters. (IIRC, some routers actually use Linux.)
:shock:

  • Poor Network Performance from VPN sites

    We are experiencing poor network performance when connecting from hardware VPN sites. VPN sites have Cisco Hardware VPN client 3002 which terminates to Cisco 3005 VPN concentrator. Geting upload/download speeds of 355/484kbsp from VPN to surewest.com. If I remove the VPN and connect laptop directly to dsl modem, speeds are 3mb up and 1mb down. Any ideas what could be causing this?

    Try this
    Adjust the MTU and MSS size in concentrator and client.
    Try these link for more info:

  • Very poor network performance with a G4

    I have a white & grey G4 (1.25GHz and 256MB) running OS X 10.4.5. It's exhibiting very poor network performance, e.g. it will not FTP files over a LAN at more than about 40KB/second.
    Other nodes on the same switch perform fine, as do other ports on the switch. The machine is set to autodetect for speed & duplex, so my question is -- how do I debug this? I've tried swapping network cables already...
    Thanks!
    Chris

    This came down to an incompatibility between the G4 and the Cisco. When the switch is set to force 100Mbit but negotiate duplex, the G4 doesn't like it. Going back to auto speed & duplex fixed the problem...

  • Extremly poor network performance

    Hello all. First time post, please excuse any annoyances.
    I'm using a WRT300N Wireless-N Broadband Router connecting three (sometimes four) computers. Two wired and one (sometimes two) wireless, using 802.11G.
    After a long period of time or after a short period of extremely high use (usually bit-torrenting assorted files) my network performance crawls to a near stop. My laptop will show an "excellent" connection but the speed will be 1 Mbps. The wired computers still show a connection of 100 Mbps but cannot connect to anything, including the router (using the web configure site). All connections time out. This happens to all the computers connected at the time and the only cure I've found thus far is to restart the router and or modem. If you need any more information please ask. Below is the information of my router, computers hooked to the router, and the network connection coming in.
    Connection coming in the house:
    Comcast Cable. 6 Meg connection (download)
    Router:
    WRT300N Wireless-N Broadband Router
    Using the latest firmware (0.93.3)
    Using DHCP, Laptop1 and Desktop1 have reservations.
    Laptop1:
    Broadcom internal wireless 'card' running 802.11G
    Desktop 1:
    Intel NIC
    Desktop 2:
    Asus motherboard onboard NIC
    (occasional) Laptop2:
    Dell external wireless card running 802.11G

    I must apologize for one annoyance... the whole post. I skipped step one of posting by forgetting to use that handy-dandy "Search" box located just above this whole post deal, I apologize again. I've found (after searching) that this problem is actually quite common with the 300N and I assume it's a firmware issue, I then assume that Linksys is working day and night, sweating behind a monitor, sleepless and hungry because all they are doing is trying to resolve this issue... then again... you know what they say about 'assuming''.

  • [SOLVED] Poor 2D performance of Radeon 7200 with newest xf86-video-ati

    Today arrived new version (6.12.99) of ATI OSS driver (also new version of ati-dri 7.6, mesa 7.6 and xorg-server 1.7.1) Since that moment I'm experiencing poor 2D performance, especially in GIMP (scrooling of zoomed canvas). Also switching of virt. desktop where is bloated Java app. or fat Firefox instance result in poor render of screen (program renders by parts/semiwindows).

  • Lenovo W540 poor network performance

    My company recently purchased a Lenovo W540 (Intel i7-4700MQ @ 2.4 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, Windows 8.1 pro 64-bit) for me to use when I am working remote. I have to say that this thing has been an albatross from day one. While it generally performs poorly, the wifi is the worst I have ever experienced. The W540 can only hit a fraction of the network speeds of my 4-year-old Dell Latitude E6400 (1.1 Mbps compared to 2.7 Mpbs on average). The connectivity is very unreliable and I am constantly losing my VPN and VoIP connections.
    I have updated all of the drivers available from Lenovo and Intel as well as removed most of the bloatware pre-installed from Lenovo. Prior to doing so I could only manage .6 Mbps on a good day - using my tethered 3G phone was faster and more reliable.
    I have contacted support twice to gain assistance. Their best offer was to have me drive an hour to the nearest service center for support.
    I am at my wit's end and would appreciate any assistance you can offer before I send this back to Lenovo along with a jar of vasaline.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Try uninstalling the wifi drivers from device manager before re-installing the latest version. My Intel 6300 card was sticking at 54mbps the other day too, and this seemed to fix it.

  • Poor network performance on wired ethernet port and airport

    I'm using Leopard 10.5.1 on a home network comprised of a new, fully up-to-date (firmware wise) D-link wireless router and a couple ethernet hubs. I initially had problems because of old router firmware, but buying the new router and making sure firmware was up-to-date seems to have solved the connection problems. What I now experience is that whichever network cennection I am using, wireless or wired ethernet port, will slow down so slow that it's impossible to get any web content, upload files to my local server, or sent emails with any kind of attachment. Turning off the connection I am using, either wired ethernet or airport, and switching to the other solves the problem for a short time, usually a couple days or so. Then that connection with slow down and I have to switch back - again solving the problem. So to keep my network connection alive, I have to keep switching back and forth between the wired ethernet and the airport connection.
    The rest of my network consists of several Windows machines including a Windows 2000 server. None of these devices ever have any problems with network access.
    I've tried playing with the advanced settings with no luck. Does anyone know of a specific setting that might be the culprit?

    Hi ,
    Maybe you can try to disable checksum offloading and jumbo frames on the Physical NIC (ESX platform) to check result .

    Hi,
    Since that I installed Windows 2012 R2 and Hyper-v, I notice that is very slow performing copy operations from the VMs to the physical machine (appears to be lock to 10MB). Firs I though that this issue was only between the VMs and the parent OS, now I realized
    that when copying between this Hyper-v physical host and another physical host in the same subnet I also get only 10MB of speed.
    How do I unlock this 10MB limit??
    The switch and all NICs are GIGABIT capable and before using Windows 2012 r2, using the same hardware boxes I was doing 400MB of transfers between physical hosts and VMs??!!
    Thank you.

    I had the exact same issue with the same AR8151 NIC on my Alienware, only I'm running Windows 8.1.
    I have a VM with both an external (to the AR8151) and an internal NIC which serves as both a domain controller and router (RRAS) for my other VMs (which only have Internal interfaces).  There is no VMQ setting on the adapter, and I messed around with
    the offload/RSS settings, but performance would drop whenever this VM would be running.  (Internet speed test would go from 95Mbps downstream to about 24Mbps.).  When I paused or shut down the VM, performance would return to normal.
    I found the issue to be an errant entry in my route table which I have no idea how it happened.  A second default route was created which used the internal IP of the VM with a lower metric.  Simply deleting the route corrected the performance issue.

  • [SOLVED] Poor SSD Performance, Low Buffered Disk Reads

    Hello. Today, I ran hdparm -t and noticed unusually low performance:
    /dev/sdb:
    Timing buffered disk reads: 342 MB in 3.00 seconds = 113.85 MB/sec
    This is on a Samsung 840 EVO with an FX-8320 4.5ghz. Testing /dev/sda, my mechanical hard drive, gives me nearly identical results, which makes pretty much no sense. I ran this about a week ago, and got numbers around 520 MB.
    I am using the BFQ scheduler and the Linux-ck kernel. I tried other IO schedulers, but only gotten worsened performance.
    The only thing I can think of that I've changed recently was from the performance to ondemand CPU governor. Could that have caused this?
    Any help would be appreciated. I am using UEFI/GPT. uname -a:
    Linux msw1 3.13.11-2-ck #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Apr 25 20:19:47 PDT 2014 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    EDIT:
    Now solved! It turns out the 840 EVO with its TLC NAND is an odd SSD, and that the alignment needs to be a multiple of 1.5.

    I have the same SSD(840 EVO) as you do and i am getting similar results with hdparm -t, although i thought this had something to do with the fact that my SSD is only connected to SATA 2.
    Partitions are aligned and manually trimming the partition doesn't seem to change anything.
    I noticed there is  new firmware update available on Samsung's website(You can boot from a CD with the ISO without having to use Windows), unfortunately i cannot get it to work as the program just crashes.
    Using the standard 3.14.1-1 x86-64 kernel with default cfq scheduler
    EDIT: It appears i already have the latest firmware installed, still i recommend checking with
    hdparm -i /dev/sdX | grep FwRev
    and seeing if new firmware is availbe here: http://www.samsung.com/global/business/ … oads.html#
    hparm -t results:
    /dev/sdc:
    Timing buffered disk reads: 368 MB in 3.01 seconds = 122.36 MB/sec
    I do have the latest firmware. As for you, it could be SATA2. I, however, have this connected to a SATA3 controller. As I said, this used to get 500+ easily. Now, it's more like 80.
    gedgon wrote:I had exactly the same issue with my EVO when it was not aligned to EBS. It's 1536 KiB or 2048 KiB (depending of source), so it's safe to set the sector alignment value to 12288 (6144 KiB), multiple of 1536 KiB and 2048 KiB.
    I wish this solved it. However, I still get the same result:
    sudo blockdev --getalignoff /dev/sdb

  • Poor network performance in busy areas of San Francisco

    Verizon LTE coverage seems to be very poor in certain parts of San Francisco. The connection seems ok at 2 or 3 bars on 4g, but data connections are very slow. In particular along 18th street between Church and Castro, and Castro Street from Market to 20th, and finally the North East side of Corona Heights park. I have a Galaxy S5, I've tried resetting a few times. Also, I've been walking with others on verizon that have the same issue, as well as people on other carriers that didn't. Any hope of seeing better coverage in the near future in those areas?  There are several people considering switching over this.

    Post a URL so we can test the page.
    My "guess" is that Flash is the video format and Snow Leopard (10.6) actually installs an "out of date" version (fixed with the 10.6.1 update).

  • Poor network performance with Websockets running on apple device

    I am working on an HTML/Javascript running on mobile devices that is communicating with a Qt/C++ application running on a PC. Both the mobile device and the PC are on a local network. The communication between the HTML page (client) and the C++ app (server) is done using Websockets.
    The HTML page is a remote control for the C++ application, so it is needed to have a low latency connection between the mobile device and the PC.
    When using any non-Apple device as a client, data is sent to a rate between 60 to 120 frames/sec, which is totally acceptable. When using an Apple device, this rate falls to 3-4 frames/sec. I also checked ping times (Websocket implementation, not a ping command from command line). They are acceptable (1-5 ms) for Apple devices as long as the device is not transmitting data. Whenever it transmits data, this ping time raises to 200ms.
    Looking from the Javascript side, the Apple devices always send data at a consistent rate of 60 frames/sec, as any other devices do. However, on the server side, only 3 to 4 of these 60 frames are received when the client is an Apple device.
    Does anyone have any idea on what can be happening?
    Here is my Javascript code :
    <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
            var wsUri = document.URL.replace("http", "ws");
            var output;
            var websocket;
            function init()
                output = document.getElementById("output");
                wsConnect();
            function wsConnect()
                console.log("Trying connection to " + wsUri);
                try
                    output = document.getElementById("output");
                    websocket = new WebSocket(wsUri);
                    websocket.onopen = function(evt)
                            onOpen(evt)
                    websocket.onclose = function(evt)
                            onClose(evt)
                    websocket.onmessage = function(evt)
                            onMessage(evt)
                    websocket.onerror = function(evt)
                            onError(evt)
                catch (e)
                    console.log("Exception " + e.toString());
            function onOpen(evt)
                alert("Connected to " + wsUri);
            function onClose(evt)
                alert("Disconnected");
            function onMessage(evt)
                alert('Received message : ' + evt.data);
            function onError(evt)
                alert("Error : " + evt.toString());
            function doSend(message)
                websocket.send(message);
            window.addEventListener("load", init, false);
    </script>
    Data is sent from Javascript side using dosend() function.

    What version of websocket is your server using? That is pretty much on the bleeding edge of things. It looks like you need to use RFC6455 and iOS6 and it should work fine.
    Thanks for the post. I didn't know about websockets. Very interesting.

  • I have recently upgraded my ipad mini to iOS 6.0.2 and still have poor wifi performance. My 3rd generation ipad works great on the same network. I have done all the resets I can think of but nothing helps. I would not have purchased the mini had I known.

    On the same wifi network, third generation ipad, iphone4s and MacBook Pro work just fine.  The ipad mini often can not connect with the mail server and seems to hang a long time trying to open a web page. Had I known the mini had this kind of difficulty on wifi, I would have reconsidered my purchase. I have tried resetting the network and renewing the lease on the mini in addition. To completing the most current iOS upgrade. Still poor wifi performance. Unacceptable, in my opinion.

    Yes I tried this manyfold. But did not work.  Reading on, I took Tesserac's advice. Shut down router and computer.
    Start router after 15 minutes and wait another 10 minutes before starting the computer.
    Et voila.... everything is back in working order,

    iPhone 4S Poor Battery Performance SOLVED!!
    I found the issue with the iPhone 4S battery performance.
    I bought 2 iPhone 4S models on the first day. One for my wife and one for me. The strange thing was that mine would kill the battery in 4-6 hours and ran VERY WARM to the touch. My wife's phone worked great. It was cold to the touch. She would forget to charge it at night... and the battery performance was great... even better than our prior 3GS models.
    What was the difference? I have my phone connected to Exchange for my corporate email. But exchange is not exactly the problem. The issue is in Notification Center. For some reason, I had hundreds of calendar reminders that kept refreshing on notification center. Furthermore, the reminders would flicker between the time remaining and the start time for the event at such a fast rate that it could not be read... (clearly a bug)
    What is the solution? Go to Settings>Notifications>Calendar and disable Notification Center. You can still have the "alert style" set to Banners, or Alerts and you will still receive notices about your events, but it will not BUILD a summary in the Notification Center drop down screen. This is where the BUG exists. [Oddly, this does not affect my iPad 2, but is an issue for iOS 5 on the iPhone (different builds, maybe?)]
    So, it appears that Notification Center has an endless loop in collecting the calendar events from Exchange and this is burning up our 4S batteries. Once you stop the madness from Notification Center, your iPhone 4S will perform as advertised.
    Enjoy!

  • Poor network performance Pavilion 500

    Has anyone ran into and solved an ethernet performance issue on the HP Pavillion 500 (500-047cb) where the nic is unable to acheive speeds of 20MB/sec or higher?  The max download performance of my current card is in 5MB range.
    The same computer gets 16MB/sec (downloads) running wifi.  Other computers on the same network get more than 25MB/sec.  Maybe its a driver or OS related issue because the last speed test had a download speed that was lower than the upload speed.  Any ideas?

    Hello @pops10009,
    Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
    I understand that you are not getting the speed out of your wireless that you should on your HP computer. There could be an issue with your Wifi Adapter. I could be corrupt or not as update to date as it should. To ensure this is not the case follow the steps below:
    These steps are for computers running Windows 8 or Windows 8.1.
    First we need to determine what your product number is. You can do this by following the HP Support document that pertains to your computer type
    Notebook - How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
    All-In-One - How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
    Desktop - How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
    Once you have your product number you can use it at HP's Drivers & Downloads page. You should see your computer listed click on it and you will be brought to your computer's drivers page. Select your operating system from the drop-down box. If you are unsure as to what operating system you are running or what version it is you  can use Which Windows operating system am I running? to determine what your operating system is and Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit? to determine what version the operating system is. Once you have your operating system selected click 'Next' and scroll down you will see Driver - Network. Click on Driver - Network and you will see your Wireless driver. Download and save it to your Desktop or a location you will remember on your computer.
    Now that you have your wireless driver downloaded follow the instructions I have set out below:
    Step 1. At the Tiles Menu type "device manager"
    Step 2. Click on Device Manager
    Step 3. Click on Network Adapters
    Step 4. Right-click on your Wireless Adapter and select Uninstall
    ***Ensure you delete the driver when the option is presented
    Step 5. Go to the wireless drivers you downloaded earlier and install them
    Step 6. Restart your computer
    Next we are going to check to see what is using your internet. There are a variety of applications that will connect themselves to your internet slowing you down without notifying you. There is a simple way of seeing what applications are connected slowing you down. To do this follow the instructions below:
    Step 1. At the Tiles Menu type "command prompt"
    Step 2. Right-click on Command Prompt
    Step 3. Click on "Run as administrator"
    Step 4. Type "netstat –b 5 > activity.txt" and hit Enter
    ***Be patient while the computer creates a file on your computer
    Step 5. Close down the Command Prompt
    Step 6. At the Tiles Menu type "activity.txt"
    Step 7. Click on activity.txt
    Step 7. Review activity.txt thoroughly
    Step 8. If you see applications that do not need to be running you can close them down.
    If you do not know how to close out applications running in Windows 8 follow the instructions I have set out below:
    Step 1. Press Alt+Tab simultaneously and hold them down
    ***A window will pop up with all the apps, and their icons, that are running on your PC.
    Step 2. Guide your mouse over the icons
    Step 3. Right click on the icon representing the application you wish to close
    Step 4. Click “Close”
    Next we are going to look for Processes that are using your internet that may be slowing you down. Once again follow the steps I have set out below:
    Step 1. Right click your Taskbar
    Step 2. Click Start Task Manager
    Step 3. Click on the Networking tab
    *** Processes consuming internet speed are shown here
    Step 4. Under the Network Utilization column  you will see processes with a higher percentage of network usage
    *** Processes you do not need can be closed by looking them up in the Processes tab
    Step 5. Select the process in the Process Tab you wish to close
    Step 6. Click End Process
    Next we are going to clear the cache, cookies and browser history. I have again set out some steps below to follow:
    Step 1. At the Tiles Menu type "internet options"
    Step 2. Click on Internet Options
    Step 3. On General tab click the Browsing history section
    Step 4. Click Settings
    Step 5. On Temporary Internet Files tab of Website Data Settings window, type 0 as Disk space to use
    Step 6. Click to the History tab, and specify a minimum number of days to keep pages in history
    Step 7. Click on Caches and databases tab, uncheck Allow website caches and databases
    ***You can also reduce the cache file size in MBs to notify yourself
    Next is a nifty feature where by default your system will wait for your data packets will fill up and then send them over your network this is called the Nagle-Algorithim and it can be disabled by following the steps below:
    Step 1. Back up your registry by following the HP Support document: Backing Up, Editing, and Restoring the Windows Registry (Windows 8)
    Step 2. At the Tiles Menu type "registry editor"
    Step 3. Click on Registry Editor
    Step 4. on the left pane expand your way through HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE until you locate "SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces"
    Step 5. Right-click the empty place
    Step 6. Click New to create two DWORD Values
    Step 7. Rename these values as ‘TcpAckFrequency’ and ‘TCPNoDelay’
    Step 8. Double-click both the entries to Modify
    Step 9. Put 1 as their Value data to activate them
    Step 10 Click OK to save your changes
    Step 10. Close Registry Editor
    Step 11. Restart your Computer
    Next we are going to clear/flush your DNS cache. You can do this by follow once again the steps I have set out below:
    Step 1. At the Tiles Menu type "command prompt"
    Step 2. Click on "Run as administrator"
    Step 3. Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit Enter
    ***You will know you are successful if you see a message stating “successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.”
    The next thing we are going to do is disable global auto-tuning as if this is not working correctly you can experience slow internet speeds. To disable the global auto-tuning follow the steps below:
    Global Auto-Tuning is related with the data transfer for HTTP traffics. You might be experiencing slowed Wi-Fi internet problem if the Auto-Tuning feature is not working properly. Simply disable it as follows:
    Step 1. At the Tiles Menu type "command prompt"
    Step 2. Right-click on Command Prompt
    Step 3. Click on "Run as administrator"
    Step 4. Type " cd C:\Windows\System32 netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled" and hit Enter
    Step 5. Type "netsh interface tcp show global" and hit Enter
    ***Does it show Auto-Tuning is disabled? If yes, you have performed everything properly. Otherwise, you need to check-out the commands you have written and try again.
    Another part of Windows that can make your WiFi slow is the remote differential compression api. the remote differential compression api is  is a client–server synchronization algorithm that allows the contents of two files to be synchronized by communicating only the differences between them. To uninstall this as it is not needed simply follow the steps below:
    Step 1. At the Tiles Menu type "programs and features"
    Step 2. Click on Programs and Features
    Step 3. Click Turn Windows Features On or Off under Programs and Features
    Step 4.  Uncheck the box named Remote Differential Compression API Support
    Step 5. Click OK
    The final set that you can do is ONLY AVAILABLE ON WINDOWS 8 PROFESSIONAL AND WINDOWS 8 ULTIMATE EDITIONS as it requires the Local Group Policy Editor. What this steps does is alter the reservable bandwith in Windows 8. What this does is reserve bandwidth for multiple users and so there is bandwidth set aside that is not being used and can be. Additionally the packet scheduler reserves 20% of yoru bandwith by default even if it is disabled. This can be reduced to 0 by following the steps below:
    Step 1. At the Tiles Menu type " gpedit.msc"
    Step 2. Right click the search result and choose to Run as administrator
    Step 3. Click on the QoS Packet Scheduler
    Step 4. Navigate to Computer Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Network \ QoS Packet Scheduler
    Step 5. Double click Limit Reservable Bandwidth
    Step 6. Click to Enable it
    Step 7. In the Options section next to Bandwidth limit (%) reduce the number to 0
    Step 8. Click OK
    Step 9. Close down Local Group Policy Editor
    If you have followed the steps I have set out in this post your internet speed in Windows 8 should have improved. Thank you for your time and have a great day!
    Please click the "Thumbs Up" on the bottom right of this post to say thank you if you appreciate the support I provide!

    Thank you.

    That is likely the case as native mode is quicker than SharePoint-integrated.
    A couple of things to check, and perhaps change if you can:
    1) Make sure the latest SSRS ReportViewer is deployed to the SharePoint WFEs. This does not have to match your SSRS deployment version. See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg492257.aspx
    for the compatibility table.
    2) If possible, move SSRS to the same SharePoint servers that end users interact with (e.g. the "WFEs").
    3) Make sure the underlying server hosting SharePoint has C-States disabled (these are Intel C-States, e.g. C1, C2, C3... aka processor sleep states). If the server has any sort of power regulation, make sure it is at maximum performance (rather than some
    form of power saving).
    4) Make sure the underlying Windows OS has it's Power Management set to Maximum, rather than any sort of power savings.
    You can review the execution logs in the Reporting Services database. Take a look at the ExecutionLog3 view. Compare the TimeProcessing (time it takes to process the report) and TimeRendering (time it takes for the processed report to render to the end user).
