[ SOLVED ] RVL200 on mac OS X 10.6.3 - connected!

Question

After far too many hours of pulling my hair out, i've finally connected to our RVL200 VPN on my macbook pro running 10.6.3 OSX.
DISCLAIMER:  Try this at your own risk!  back up!  and know what you're doing.  I take no responsibility and i'm not sure what the ramifications are of the "workaround" i've done.  But it worked
I'll skip the basics, hopefuly you've already covered those steps.  in brief:  Make sure you've enabled and set a root password in "Directory Utility"
I made my connection using OS X 10.6.3, Safari 5.0.1,  RVL200 Firmware Version: v1.1.12 .1  
Initially, i was getting an error referring to "Root" privileges required for setting permissions....All the while i was giving it root permissions, this was not the real issue:
I came across this post LINK which led me to my MACINTOSH HD/vpclient directory
in here, you'll find a file called macconfig.sh
Now, i did a lot of minor changes and not sure exactly which one(s) were necessary except the last.  1 such change was running safari in 32bit mode, by going to Applications, right click on safari, and check the box for 32 bit mode.
long story short macconfig.sh is just plain junk.  line 4 fails on my machine, which pretty much cause the rest of the script to fail.  So, i changed it to 
if [ -n $2 -a $2 = "false" ]
I may have removed some of the variable in line 5...trying 
if [ -n $2  = "false" ] 
if [  -a $2 = "false" ]
Silly, i know.
Also, if this doesn't seem to work, try hard coding a 0 as your $ret_val;  
ret_val="0" instead of ret_val="$?"
if you fake the 0 it will fake the install, but won't work, you'll need to delete the directory and reinstall, edit and retry.
Now that i have it working i don't really want to go back and try it again.  but I figured some of this out by executing the macconfig.sh in terminal by going to the directory "vpclient" and typing "./macconfig.sh"
you'll see an error about too many arguments on line 4.  I also tried echoing some of the variables in the file while running it in the terminal to see what was really going on.
Also, i was prompted "an update is available! "  I clicked CANCEL
I know there are many posts out there regarding using the rvl200 on a mac, and i hope this will help some of you.  If anyone out there is brave enough to give it a shot, please post your success stories!  or other issues you may run into.
