[solved] usbstick problem - how to make it /dev/sda

Hi guys,
I have a following issue: sometimes it happens that my younger sister pulls out my usbstick, this causes that it becomes /dev/sdb instead of /dev/sda. The only solution I know to return usbstick to /dev/sda it to restart the computer. Do you know any other solution?

it looks like it will automaticly mount the device to /mnt/usbX . If that won't work you can always modify it to create a symlink from /mnt/usbX to /mnt/usb, or just mount any /dev/sdX to /mnt/usb .

Code looks reasonable except
a) the code in the actionPerformed is commment out
b) the owner of the dialog should be the frame

Smartform problem how to make second page main window dynamic?

Hi SAP Community,
I am facing a problem with designing a smartform. I have taken a table in the main window of the first page, and the main window length varies according to the number of entries in the table. If the records are more than that can be adjusted in the first page then the ramaining records move to the second page main window. After the second page main window i have defined a window which i have marked to get displayed after the main window, but the problem i am facing is that that the second page main window is geting overlapped with the window defined to come after it. Can any one help me with how to control the length of second page main window dynamically.

Hi,
Normally, to trigger next page the main window is mandatory.
However, if the contents of main window are not sufficient enough to move over to next page then the next page would not get trigerred.
Moreover, please check whether the table of contents in the first page are also existing in the next page otherwise you need to trigger a new page by using a command.
Also please direct the next page of SECOND page to SECOND itself and check.

Audio Interface Problems -- How to make it simply work

Hello all. I recently bought a Tascam US-122L audio interface and cant seem to get it to work. It plugs in through the USB on my Macbook and lights come on so I know it is powered up and connected, and the warning comes up that an audio device has been located. I even get a signal on the screen from my track when I strum the guitar, but I cant figure out how to get the output to come out through the speakers so I can hear while I play. I'm also new to Logic and really dont know how to work it so I'm even more lost than when I tried to get it to work through garageband which was eventually successful. What settings should I change so that the recording comes from my interface and I can hear what I play through the speakers? Also any help on setting up a good modern rock distortion sound with presets would be most appreciated. Thanks!

I think it is actually an Apple App switcher thing.
So if the finder window does noy cover the After Effects Project window, it works, but if you have to use the app switcher, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
I don't think it is a file type issue, so much as a live application issue, or maybe GPU related.
It's a weird thing, not that important, but it does limit where you can and can't drag from.

Safe boot solves PowerPoint problem; how do I fix problem at source?

I was trying to display a slide show in MS Powerpoint 2011 on my MacBook Air, but PowerPoint crashed every time I tried to launch the slide show. I found a Microsoft support article, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/975723?linkId=11072873, that suggested booting my computer in Safe mode and seeing if PowerPoint worked then. In fact, it does!
My question is, what has Safe boot revealed about why PowerPoint crashes when I try to display a slide show? Is there a way to fix the problem that causes PowerPoint to crash so that I don't have to boot into Safe Mode every time I want to do a PowerPoint slide show?

Put the disk in the computer and restart while holding the C key down. You pretend you want to reinstall the OS and go through the first two steps, until the screen just after the language selectiion screen.
On this screen you will see a menu bar. Click Utilities in the menu bar, and select Disk Utility. When DU is up and running, do this:
In the list at the left, select your start up disk- the item you want to repair. (Be sure to select an item that’s indented to the right in the list, not an item at the far left.)
Click First Aid.
If Disk Utility tells you the disk is about to fail, back it up and replace it. You can’t repair it.
Click Repair Disk.
When the repair is completed, quit DU and restart the computer.

[SOLVED] Using gdm, how to make commands run when x starts?

I am running arch on a Thinkpad T400, and would love to be able to scroll using the middle button and the trackpoint. I found this article: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_co … TrackPoint
and it says to insert some commands into .xsessionrc. The thing is, I'm not sure where .xsessionrc is, or if arch even uses .xsessionrc. (It said it would depend on the distribution.) I tried putting it in .xinitrc, but apparently that only runs with the command "startx", but I'm using a display manager. (gdm). In this thread:

the person was told to put the script in .kdm, since he was using that display manager. Is there a similar place for gdm where these commands will run at startup?

My Solaris 8 doesn't support UNICODE. That's why, I can't write � in a file.
I think UNICODE support will remove this problem

You may have to install additional locale files for UTF-8 support from the Solaris "Languages" CD.

Hi,
First make the finder the Front app.
The Finder Menu > Preferences > General Section should have the Hard Drive item ticked to show the Hard Drive on the Desktop.
The Name of the drive should not have a . at the beginng as in .Mactinosh HD as this will make te file Invisible.
There are also other characters that cause this.
If you go to the Finder > Go Menu and select My Computer it should have opened a window displaying the Volumes ( Hard Drives and storage devices) that are connected.
