[SOLVED] uswsusp:: On bootup, ENTER path_to_resume_device_file

Hi!
New to ArchLinux here: switched from gentoo after I got tired of compiling every single upgrade
Followed the wiki to to install uswsusp. On each bootup, whether or not I've hibernated, I receive the following prompt:
Could not stat the resume device file '<path_to_resume_device_file>'
Please type in the full path name to try again or press ENTER to boot the system.
I recognize <path_to_resume_device_file> from the original configuration file, suspend.conf, but I've longed since changed that to:
snapshot device = /dev/snapshot
resume device = /dev/sda3
#image size = 350000000
#suspend loglevel = 2
#compute checksum = y
#compress = y
#encrypt = y
#early writeout = y
#splash = y
Any ideas on what's happening here? (I recursively grepped my filesystem for <path_resume_device_file>, but I cannot find it in any configuration file anywhere)

I've resolved this issue: the initramfs must be rebuilt *after* the suspend.conf file is updated.
I've updated the corresponding wiki entry on Suspend to Disk appropriately.

[solved] uswsusp: how to suspend to ram without killing network

Hi guys.
On my acer aspire one (D150) I use uswsusp instead of kernel mode. The laptop goes to sleep and restores in a sleep second, which is fantastic.
However, when I run s2ram from the shell it goes to sleep maintaing the wifi connection so that when I open the lid I am up and running instantaneously. When I use pm-utils, on the other hand, somehow the network gets shutdown so at resume I need to associate via DHCP again.
Does anyone know how to overcome this? I want the sleep behaviour to be the one of s2ram only, namely wifi not disconnected.

Alright, I figured it out.

The Networkmanager hook had to be blacklisted. Now it works.

[solved] amd64 random bootup crashes

laptop asusX51rt,
graphics: ATI Technologies Inc RC410 [Radeon Xpress 200M],
hdd: sata
cpu: intel dual core
default instalation, default kernel, opensource ati driver,
i don't use kdm or gdm, or any other startup manager
i'm not using testing repository, but use AUR.
2 weaks ago, i installed amd64 on asusX51rl. Since, then, system randomly crashes at startup (when it boots up, i never had a crash)
there are 3 bootup times, when it hangups
1) at startup beginning, when initrd finishes load (at that moment, when resolution of konsole changes)
2) when everything has loaded, and all load info disapears, and konsole changes to login mode (i think that it crashes at this moment)
3) when i try start X
all this is happing randomly. I tried to restart laptop about 5 times, and usualy, i hangs up. Often when i turnoff computer, after hangup, it hangups once again. Though, it never crashed 3 times in row.
At all 3 times, there is some video activity. So does this is graphics problem?
the most mysterious place, is whet system hangups, in 2 place.
i have arch32 on other laptop, with intel graphics, and it works fine.
When i open *faillog* and *lastlog* with vi after crash, i see only "^@^@" (is it corrupted?)

After i added "nomodeset" to grub, i had no crash till tried start X, but *5 times in row my computer crashed when starting X*...
i downgraded to
ati-dri-7.4.4-1 (this definetly fixed)
xf86-video-ati-6.12.2-2 (dont know if this is relevent)
and now my system boots up without random craches

Pressing ENTER in Command Prompt to solve hanging

Hi,
Does anyone know why sometimes Java hangs, unless you press ENTER in the
Command Prompt for Windows 2K? After pressing ENTER it continues execution.
It happens with WebLogic sometimes too. It will not print anything on the
console until I press ENTER.
I'm sure lots of Java developers have experienced this weird problem.

The enter key to login pages no longer works in Firefox 5

After upgrading to Firefox 5 hitting the enter key after entering my password on login page does nothing. Before it would submit the page. This was a problem with the beta, too, and I had to downgrade to 4 to fix it. That works fine in 4.

Yes, this is a stupid behaviour. I have it too. Also, in textboxes it doesn't give me new line.
The form sending you can solve via hitting Ctrl + Enter.

HP50g: solve quadratic equations

How would you solve a quadratic equation on the HP50g? I already know how to use the normal algebraic solver, but I can't solve x^2+2x+1=0, for example. Also, when I hit EXPAND ((x+2)*(x-2)), like the integrated help forum says, it doesn't come up with the solution set. It comes up with -9.9999999E499, which is obviously not the correct answer. How do I change both of these?

There are several ways to find the roots.
Method 1:
A useful method is to use the numerical solver:
Red-Right-Shift    NUM.SLV (on 7 key), then choose "3. Solve poly.."
Enter the vector of coefficents, e.g. for x^2+2x+1=0 enter [1,2,1] then with Roots section highlighted, choose F6 SOLVE
Answer is [-1 -1]
for example x^2-4=0 enter [1,0,-4]
Answer is [-2 -2]
Method 2a:
Another method is to use the SOLVE command, White-Left-Shift   S.SLV, 6.SOLVE (or F6 SOLVE if using soft menus).
In RPN mode:
'X^2-4'
'X'
SOLVE
Answer: {X=-2 X=2}
Algebraic mode:
SOLVE(X^2-4,X)
Answer: {X=-2 X=2}
Method 2b:
As a shortcut you can use SOLVEVX command, White-Left-Shift   S.SLV, 5.SOLVEVX (or F5 SOLVEVX if using soft menus).
With this command, the current active variable is assumed to be soved for (indicated on the top of the screen, usually 'X'). You then do not need to specify the variable to solve for.
In RPN mode:
'X^2-4'
SOLVEVX
Answer: {X=-2 X=2}
Algebraic mode:
SOLVEVX(X^2-4)
Answer: {X=-2 X=2}

While creating tolerance group you are specified the authorization group/ Just delete the name of the group you have created and keep it blank OR assign the user to that group and save.
Note:
If you create tolerance groups then the group must be assigned to the users in t.code:OB57 who are posting the transaction. Defining and assigning the tolerance groups to employees is not going to solve, you have to enter the amount ranges of tolerance for G/L document, Customer and Vendor posting.
In t.code:OBA4 create an entry for your company code. (Group creation is not compulsory). If your requirement permits better keep the group column empty. when no group is created its for all users.Double click on company code and enter upper limits and permitted payment differences and save.In t.code:OBA3 enter the ranges for payment differences and any other columns as per your requirement..

User cannot receive External Send Output Message manually - ME22N

I have the following issue, once a User has saved the PO he wants to receive this PO to his email. He goes to "Messages" and selects Medium 5 "External Send" and in Partner he types his User ID in order to receive it.
He is not receiving any emails and the status in Further Data is "2 incorrectly processed". When he types another User ID, this User does receive the email. Is there anything else I need to configure to this User ID so he can received this Output Messages? He is the only User that cannot receive these Output Messages.

Problem Solved!!
I enter to table USR21 (Assign user name address key) and realized User ID did not exist. So I enter to table ADR6 (E-Mail Addresses) and noticed it was a totally different User. I enter to table LFA1 (Vendor Master) and there was information about this User.
This left me to one conclusion...This had nothing to do with the User ID
The Client in the past created Vendors (MK01) has "Buyers". So when the Buyer wanted to send any PO to his email he just went to "Messages" and selected Output Type "NEU" / Medium 5 "External send" / Partner "Vendor#" = Buyer.
I enter to MK02 and typed the Vendor# they gave him, in "General Data" check only "Address" and press ENTER, updated the email in the field and selected INT E-mail in "Standard Comm Mtd" and problem solved.

Creation of Wage Type Catalog for Luxembourg

Hello,
I am looking to create a wage type catalogue with T-Code OH11 to complete my Travel Management customization.
I launch the transaction, select Luxembourg as a country.
Then, I would like to copy the MJ30 wage type so I complete the fields and press copy (test run) but I have an error message indicating that the value does not exist in T512W..
What should I do to solve tis issue? Enter a value directly in the table? I have no idea ..

I can't copy anything since there is not even one wage type in T512W for Luxembourg.
When I look at other countries, I saw the entries. But where do they come from?

ENVY 17-j053ea recovery attempt failed

Hi, I have a HP ENVY 17-j053ea which I had to purchase recovery discs for. I used the recovery discs several times following different instructions and using different BIOS settings, and have been in 3 different chats with HP but I am still getting an error message. In the final chat HP told me that I should take the laptop back to the retailer who should repair/replace it for me and if they don't then to contact HP over chat again.
The error message is a dialog box with a black background titled 'Recovery Manager' and the message says 'The recovery attempt has failed. Select one of the following buttons:' where the buttons are 'Save Log', 'Details' and 'Retry'. If I click on 'Retry' it prompts me to insert disc 1 again, (at the stage of recieving this error message both discs have already been used) and if I click on 'Details' a file named 'CTOERROR.flg' opens in Notepad and contains the following text:
ChkErrBB.CMD : Detect some error during PININST_BBV.
ChkErrBB.CMD : Check c:\system.sav\logs\BurnBootWarn.log
ChkErrBB.CMD : or, check c:\system.sav\logs\BurnBootMerge.log
Is there anything that anyone can suggest before I return the laptop?

Enter the BIOS and reset the notebook's system date to 01/14/2014. Run the recovery. When you get to the place where you are askedif the notebook cane with supplemental media, remove the recovery media and let the notebook restart.
You may have to run the recovery one more time and reset the system date to 01/01/2014. I have performed five + recoveries on my current Spectre 13 HP TouchSmart Ultrabook product loan to become familiar with the process when a GPT disk is involved. Each time it has taken me three times to achieve a factory image recovery.

IMac 27' (year 2010 - Snow Leopard) won't boot - white screen only

Hi,
my 2010 iMac 27in running Snow Leopard won't start - when I switch it on, I can hear the chime, the screen goes white and gets stuck at this (no Apple logo, no question mark, no mouse pointer). I have waited for minutes but it's definitely stuck.
When there is a DVD in (tried both OSX Instal and Apps Instal), I can hear the drive reading for a few seconds, then it goes silent.
I have found a few similar topics in this and other forums - the issue was solved or helped by entering one of the special boot modes via keyboard shortcuts upon startup. In my case though, none of these shortcuts work - with the sole exception of Cmd+Alt+P+R to reset the NVRAM. What I tried was: C, D, Alt, Eject, N, T, Shift, Cmd-V, Cmd-S ...none of them has any effect.
I learned there are some issues with a wireless keyboard when using these shortcuts, so I got a USB one to rule that out - but it didn't help.
In the beginning, I heard "clicking" noise I am not used to hearing - so I suspect a HDD failure but it would surprise me the machine would not indicate that in some better way than a blank white screen. The clicking then went away - could be after I did the NVRAM reset - not sure.
I also performed an SMC reset by unplugging the power cord for a while - no effect.
As per one recommendation, I tried NVRAM reset a few times in a row. Didn't help but, interestingly, I found that after 3 such resets, holding D will eject the DVD (without the 3 resets, "D" won't do it). Prior to that I had no way of getting the DVD out.
The computer was running fine before I switched it off for the night on the previous day. There was no system update, no change I am aware of.
The only thing beyond default is extra RAM but that has been there for months now without problems (and just to be super sure, I removed the modules but no effect).
At this point I have run out of ideas - any suggestions are very welcome.

Problem with the discount field in PO form.

I have a major problem in the PO form when ever I capture an invoice and then i insert the amount like R 100 000 then I try and add it with out maybe be a date in , the system will give me an error about date which is fine then I put in my date , then before i add the doc i change the total amount in one of the lines then the system inserts discount in the discount field automatically.
If i first entered R 100 000 then changed the amount to R 15 000 the system enters a discount of 85%.
Can anyone please explain this to me.

Error in simple Application

Hi all,
    since i am relatively new to this field, i created a simple application which takes in carrid and displays the sflight details...i too have binded the table but whenever i try to test the application it displays the following error_..."Adapter error in INPUT_FIELD "INPUT_CARRID" of view "Z_TEST_DETAILS.MAIN": Context binding for property VALUE cannot be resolved: The MAIN.1.SFLIGHT1 node does not contain any elements "*_
i even cannot enter debug mode because it dumps in the beginning.Could you please help me out with this.
