[solved] Wine OpenGL Drivers

Hello
Since I updated my Wine long time ago, 3D applications won't start.
Wine gives this output
http://pastebin.com/whccHcRx
but my nvidia driver is installed correctly
http://pastebin.com/FAcCa8hK
Is it an 64 bit issue?
I am using Arch 64 Bit and bin32-wine 1.1.41 from AUR.

I solved the issue by reinstalling wine and other bin32 apps and I added lib32-nvidia-utils (lib32-catalyst-utils for ATI).

You can also use a bash alias.
    As an example:
    alias supac='sudo pacman'
You would place the above in the bashrc of your profile
    gedit /home/YOURUSERNAME/.bashrc
Then to use it right away
    source /home/YOURUSERNAME/.bashrc
Otherwise you can just logout then back in.
Then using the example you could just do
    supac -Syy
    supac -Syu
You just use supac in place of sudo pacman (the rest stays the same). You can use a different alias though. It doesnt have to be supac.
P.s. Glad the lib32-nvidia-utils fixed your issue. I had the same problem when i first started with arch so i assumed that was the issue.

  • L520: are there any Win 8 drivers for Ericsson 5521gw WWAN card?

I can't find any Win 8 drivers for my L520. There is a driver listed on the Win 8 beta page, but L520 is not mentioned there.
Is the 5521gw card working on Win 8 x64? Do I need the beta driver or do we have to install the Win 7 version?

  • Satellite M70-350 - Win 7 drivers needed

    Hi,
I've installed Windows 7 on my Toshiba Satellite M70-350, yet I'm facing some troubles with the drivers.
Can anyone guide me to the correct drivers for the windows 7 32-bit?

    Hi mate
Satellite M70 is not Win 7 supported.
This means that Win 7 drivers are not available for Satellite M70 series.
You can find the Vista and Win XP drivers for the M70.
But dont worry about that. Some vista drivers are compatible with Win 7 and could be installed too.
Furthermore you could check Win 7 drivers which are released for other Satellite notebooks
For example Satellite L500 or other A series
The touchpad drivers, WLan drivers, LAN drivers, Bluetooth, Flash Cards Support Utility, and Sound Driver are not notebook series specific.
So you could use it on notebook with the same hardware.

  • Availability of Win 10 Drivers for *Current* and *New* Systems

I was wondering if there is any timeframe for posting Windows 10 drives for *Current* and *New* Systems. I notice that there are only like 3 drivers posted so far for the X360 laptops. Even the brand new models which come with Windows 10 preinstalled still have only a smattering of drivers posted. Obviously the drivers exist since the system ships with them installed, why can't they be posted for download? I can understand driver availability taking some time for systems that didn't ship with Win 10, but for those systems that ship with Win 10 already loaded shouldn't those drivers be available to your customers on the the very first day of product shipment? In case you are wondering why it matters if it comes preinstalled already, it's because I plan on doing new, clean install of Win 10 Professional. Your systems are shipping with the Home edition. I have an X360 that is still being sold and shipping with 8.1. I would walk into Best Buy today and buy another one that comes with Windows 10, but won't do that until drivers are available so I can do a clean install. Thanks.

  • Re: Win XP drivers for Satellite C660 needed

    cheers toshiba community,
first off this notebook is my first contact with toshiba. browsing the site/forum is a pain!
Reminds me of browsing via isdn times...
As you might guess i dont like win 7 very much, maybe because i dont understand why it is that uncomfortable and needs to garbage the hd that much.
Its stable and working but doesnt satisfy me when it comes to customization and transparency.
So im about to replace it with win xp (or archlinux).
Before starting having the needed drivers is essential and that's where im stuck right now.
One could hope the xp internal drivers will budge or make sure the needed packages are already there. definitely i prefer the 2nd.
Link: [toshiba download center search|http://www.pictureupload.de/originals/pictures/100112101116_Treiber_herunterladen_-_Toshiba.png] came up with 4 results, *only network drivers are officially available for win xp*...
    graphics driver aint a problem.
*the question is where to get the others?* webcam, audio, touchpad, etc
*will xp standard drivers offer basic functionality?*
*or is there a basic 'source' on this forum im not aware of?*
*or maybe theres a toshiba app dealing with that problem?*
*or even worse doesnt toshiba provide builds for xp?*
i wont believe toshiba forces to use win7.
Any infos/sources would be helpful and are greatly appreciated!
Any complaints on prefering xp over win7 are off topic and subjective.
Btw it seems to be a important needed info: recovery medias were created

    Hi
I visited the Toshiba European driver page and was able to find the Win XP drivers for the Satellite C660 as you can see on the screenshot.
    <img src='http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/3808/captureqbo.png' border='0' width=530px/>
Unfortunately its not a driver package so you will need to download the single drivers step by step

  • Faults in Leopard OpenGL Drivers for Intel GMA machines

According to the developers of Blender, the Leopard OpenGL Drivers for the Intel Integrated Graphics MacBook is the cause of a year & a half old bug, as well as one only a year old. The python-run program's interface is completely written in OpenGL (which allows it's wonderful cross-platform compatibility), so any bugs in the OpenGL driver can reek havoc on the program.
The first bug isn't much of a problem for me, since it involves a slowdown due to pixel double-buffering, which the next release of Blender will disable. However it should be noted that this bug is still there. It just won't affect blender anymore.
The second bug, however, is impressively destructive. At seemingly random moments, Blender's OpenGL-driven interface will become overloaded. As a result, random lines, shapes, and gradients will litter the screen. Afterwards, if you're lucky, blender will crash and Leopard can submit a bug report. And if you're not so lucky, the entire operating system will lock up, requiring an emergency restart of the machine.

  • Re: Satellite C75-A-10W - - Where to get Win 7 drivers

    Hello,
I recently ordered a Toshiba Satellite C75-A-10W and i installed Windows7 64bit operating system on it. I noticed that i miss a lot of drivers so I decided to look them up on the official website.
I entered Toshiba Romania, filled in the blanks until ''Operating system'' - there i could only select windows 8 and OS independent if i wanted to look up for drivers.
What should i do? Can you help me, please?
Where can i find Windows7 drivers? Can I use win8 drivers on my win7?
I really need some help finding these drivers.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi
The Satellite C75-A-10W is new series on the market released with Win 8 system
I assume that Win 7 drivers are not available yet. As far as I know Win 8.1 is a new candidate and possible the next bunch of drivers would be released for Win 8.1
Lets see if Win 7 driver would be released for these new notebook series.
In your case I recommend searching for single drivers at your own hand.
Use the mini PCI database to get details about the parts and devices built in the notebook as described here: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD0302U00000R01.htm
You can also check some Win 7 drivers released for other, older Toshiba notebook series.
In cases the built in parts are the same, the driver should be compatible.

  • MS-6367 USB and Win 2000 drivers

Hi, can someone point me in the right direction here.
I have an NEC Powermate XL4 which has an MS-6367 (MSI) NOVA motherboard. I bought it with Win XP Home and the original NEC CD which contains XP drivers.
I recently installed Windows 2000 Professional and loaded the nforce drivers from the Nvidia website which seems to have installed OK. I'm having problems with a USB2 pci card as the external hard drive attached to it seems to be losing power (although it has an external power source) when transferring large files. It seems to work ok on the inbuilt USB1 ports though.
I'm wondering if there is a problem with USB in general on this PC, as it seems to be using standard Win 2000 USB drivers -I can't seem to locate Win 2000 drivers for this motherboard. I'm a bit confused with the USB information in device manager. I have the following listed:
Standard OpenHCD PCI to USB Host Controller
Standard OpenHCD PCI to USB Host Controller
    USB 2.0 Root Hub
    USB Root Hub
    USB Root Hub
    USB Root Hub
    USB Root Hub
VIA PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller
    VIA USB Universal Host Controller
    VIA USB Universal Host Controller
This is how it looks with 4 inbuilt USB ports and the PCI Card which has 3 external and 1 internal USB2 ports (an Innovision DM8007). Does this look correct?
    Thanks
    Dan

    Thanks,
Sorry, I meant to say is that I could not find any Win 2000 drivers for the motherboard and that the Nvidia drivers were all I could find and install which seem to only relate to the video, sound and onboard network controller.
The USB card does come with drivers, but I was thinking that there maybe something wrong with the way the motherboard is operating and that maybe I'm missing specific Win2k drivers for this particular motherboard.
I'm about to test a newer driver for the PCI card to see if that sorts it out.
    Thanks
    Dan

  • [SOLVED] K9N SLI V2 - can't find Win XP drivers for on-board LAN

I installed Windows XP, and the driver CD only has Vista drivers.  I need drivers for the on-board LAN and the on-board audio.  I googled and found some drivers here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforc [...] _9.16.html
But when I run setup.exe, the nVidia splash screen comes up briefly, then the "InstallationShield is preparing a wizard to guide you through the installation process" window comes up briefly, and then the window closes and nothing else happens.  I found a forum thread where a guy had the same thing happen to him, and there were no replies.
I tried Add Hardware and used the motherboard cd, despite Vista drivers, and the drivers were installed but would not work.
    Can anyone help please?
SOLUTION: See my last post.  It involves this download: http://www.esnips.com/doc/90c86920-0e33-45df-b9d7-c08c04796421/Fernandos-XP-32bit-NF4-5-non-AHCI-driverpack-WHQL-v2.0

It worked beautifully!  Thanks so much.  I used the link, downloaded the driver from the first section*, ran setup.exe and the installer worked.  But then I had to go to Add Hardware, and something about an SM Bus came up, so I pointed it to the SMBus directory of that download.  Then the Add Hardware wizard came up for the Ethernet Controller, so I pointed it toward the Ethernet directory of the download.  After that, everything works perfectly.

  • Windows 7 and network printing with printers with "built-in" win 7 drivers

I'm trying to get network printing (i.e. printing to a printer not attached to the
    PC) working.
This works fine for newer printers that have a specific, new Win-7 64-bit driver
written for them, but I can't get it to work for any printers (generally older printers) that just
use a driver that supposedly "comes with" Windows 7.
The problem is, the Windows 7 "Add a Printer" wizard does not automatically find  the driver
for these older printers (like the DeskJet 950c or LaserJet 4300n) and so it wants you
to specify the .inf file for the driver package. This is fine when HP supplies a downloadable
driver package, but for these older printers, they do not. Instead HP just says "no
download is needed because the driver is included in the operating system"  and to just
plug in the printer (via USB or serial cable) and the OS will autodetect it and set up the right
driver. Unfortunately this plug-and-play solution does not work when you're trying to set up
a PC to print over the network.
What can be done? Is there a generic driver package that one can download so as to
satisfy Windows 7's need for an .inf file?
    Thank you very much,
    -Chris

When the printer list comes up click on the "Windows Update" box in the lower right.  This will update the list of drivers available and will likely take several minutes.  Once the update has been done the available drivers will show up.

  • [PARTIALLY SOLVED] Wine 3D apps make the system randomly freezes

    Hi!
Since some months, i can't play longer that one hour on games through wine: xorg locks up the system randomly: i can't switch to a console or close the game with Alt+F4. I can only move the mouse, and the sound is always running. Moreover, I can always connect to the pc through SSH.
I think it's due to fglrx driver, because with the OSS one, I never freeze so (but I get crap performances, what is not the best to play...).
Did someone got the same issue and solved it?

Edit: To not leave the post so cynical.
AMD's fglrx driver is not that high quality. From personal exprience, it has always caused more problems than good.
So your only choice is really to a) Write detailed bug to amd, and hope they fix it. b) Use the open source drivers. c) Change GPU

  • [SOLVED]Wine 100% cpu usage in some games

I'm using wine for almost 2yrs now, only to play counterstrike which it runs flawlessly. I today installed nfs undercover and it seems that cpu usage is always 100%(due to nfs.exe). From the nvidia control center I can see that the gpu temp is really low from which I can guess that the gpu is underutilized and so the game runs sluggishly. As I dont game that much in wine, I'm asking u guys that Is it supposed to be like this? or are there any tweaks?

Generally it is though. What's a 'hardcore' game? I play HoN through wine (long story) and I know that big resource hog NWN2 ran just the same FPS in wine as on the windows install. Those are even DirectX games, the extra cost of DirectX->OpenGL conversion is offset by the fact that you don't have to run a virus scanner and all those junk apps a typical windows install needs.
IMO wine is made for games of all kind. Now if only it worked better with Office and the Adobe apps....

  • [solved] WINE+Diablo 2+Noveau with Mesa 8.0.2 not working

    Hi all,
I just installed arch on my old barebone which has an NVidia GF4 Ti 4400.
I am aware that 3D support for older chips like my NV24 is more limited than for newer cards (e.g. 9800GT).
    The strange thing here:
Diablo2 launched via WINE stopped working.
3D acceleration is fine in place as I can tell both from the output of glxinfo and Urban Assault running blazingly fast:
    OpenGL vendor string: Nouveau
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI nv25 x86/MMX+/3DNow!+/SSE
OpenGL version string: 1.2 Mesa 8.0.2
Launching Diablo 2 causes an unhandled exception and I suspect Noveau being the problem here.
At least the error message sounds like this:
    ..games\diablo2\Game.exe: nv20_state_fb.c:50: get_rt_format: Assertion `0' failed.
As Diablo 2 worked fine on the same box several days before when I had Trisquel installed (older Noveau / WINE version though) there seems to be a regression bug.
Has anyone experienced similar behaviour running Noveau on older GeForce cards ?
    Thanks,
    D$

Hm, and a bug report should be filled with more than just an educated guess, no ?
I asked here for someone else to step in because I just recently switched back from Trisquel to arch on my "tinker box".
So we talk here about at least four components which have changed:
    - Xorg
    - Noveau plus Mesa stack
    - WINE
    - Kernel
Hard to tell what causes the issue. My guess is that something in Noveau changed between 7.11 and 8.0 but only one with a similar GPU following the arch's rolling updates for a longer period can really evaluate this issues. My bug report would be pointless and just filled with speculations. Not very worthwile for the noveau devs to read. Esp. since they should and will rather concentrate on newer cards than old, legacy stuff as my GF4 4400, I guess
    Edit:
According to the Noveau wiki (http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/MesaDrivers) one should not file bug reports at all for this driver:
    nouveau_vieux (NV04 - NV20)
nouveau_vieux_dri.so is a classic Mesa DRI driver, and not a Gallium3D driver, because these cards do not have enough shader capabilities to reasonably support the Gallium3D infrastructure.
Do not file bug reports about this driver.
Hm, so my guess is that I simply can wait if a newer version of Mesa fixes the issue.
Edit: I added solved to the topic. Mainly not because the issue itself is solved but because of the facts that this is "only" my scrap system which I hardly would use for WINE gaming anyway and secondly because the issues is either really solved but a future version of nouveau or will never go away.

  • [Solved]Steam - OpenGL GLX problem after update

When I open steam it gives me this prompt:
"OpenGL GLX context is not using direct rendering, which may cause performance problems.
    For more information visit https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9938-EYZB-7457."
I had this problem before, but I solved it with this command:
    rm ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6
    rm ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1
    rm ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/amd64/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1
    rm ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/amd64/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6
    rm ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libxcb.so.1
But now after newest update, nothing solves this problem. And also I can do nothing about steam updates, beacause steam updates itself. I am using mesa-git drivers for AMD. Everything was working fine before the latest update. The command I shown to you doesn't help now. Steam now launches itself, but all 3D games crash on startup. The output of command glxinfo|grep rendering is direct rendering: yes.

    from the steam output :
libGL error: unable to load driver: r600_dri.so

libGL error: failed to load driver: r600
libGL error: unable to load driver: swrast_dri.so
libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast
Those libraries are in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri , both mesa-git 66716 and mesa-dri 10.3.5 symlink them to the r300_dri.so lib in the same folder.
( this is intentional due to recent changes in mesa).
To verify whether you have an OpenGL problem or a steam problem, try running native opengl applications like Xonotic or Oolite (both are in repos) .
