Some Bugs and Enhancement Suggestions for Offline DB models

I really like the way that this area of JDeveloper is shaping up, but I have a couple of bugs and few suggestions for enhancements.
Bugs,
1) when adding an index to a table, you can't edit the index name. If the generated name is too long, it doesn't allow you to create the index.
2) When adding columns to an index, there is no LOV of columns so you have to manually type each one. It always defaults to the ?first column of the primary key? which seems odd.
A few enhancement suggestions:
1) on tables and columns it would be very helpful to be able to also have a logical name as well as a physical name
2) if we have a logical name, it would be then very helpful to be able to set the display properties to show the logical vs. physical table and column names
3) Tablespace objects. I would be okay if they were just the logical object (not necessarily generate DDL to create them). If I could use them as part of the table and index definitions.
4) Table partitioning.
5) Packages on a DB Diagram. Just for the documentation purpose of visually displaying all objects in an application.
6) Ability to create views based on synonyms. Currently, it only allows to pick a table or view.
Just a few items that I have encountered trying to design a full application in JDeveloper.

Fixing up some logic around pauseWhenHidden (there were some bugs) and also changing some logic around enabling/disabling. Also fixing a small documentation bug on VideoPlayer2.scaleMode.
When a video component (or one of its ancestors) becomes disabled, the video pauses. When it becomes re-enabled, we do not play the video. This behavior is baked in to VideoDisplay and does not depend on the pauseWhenHidden flag.

If nothing else, this huge list of updates and fixes, shows clearly that the Logic Dev team is working hard on fixing and improving LPX to a major degree.... and from the list of fixes done.. show they do read the bug reports submitted!
As an aside....
I recall how all the 'naysayers' prior to LPX (and in some cases, since...) were proclaiming how Logic was dead, the team was being disbanded, we won't see any further development, the Dev team doesn't listen or care... and so on....... I wonder where those people are now?

Yes, that's why I recommend one have more than TimeMachine as a backup because if certain files or folders are corrupted on the TM drive, your not logging into your migrated user account or not be able to transfer it what so ever.
Then it's a REAL PAIN and costs $99 to bit read the TM drive to get the files out, then it's mess to go through and sort all the empty placeholders from the real files as TM doesn't save duplicates in each state, just uses the previous state's copy if there are no changes.
If you create the same named user account on the new machine, and simply transfer files via a USB thumb drive and place say music contents into the Music folder, then it will work too.
Look into making clones of your boot drive, the benefit here is it's bootable, you can access the drive directly to pick and choose files, run the computer just like before etc.

How to enable multiple check-out and check-in for offline editing (sharepoint 2010)

I have a SharePoint site where I am using check-in check out feature for one of 'Project' document library.
By default SharePoint supports single document to be checkout for offline editing (when i click on checkout, SP ask for 'Use local draft option' for offline editing), if I select that check box, it take a local copy for offline editing in my 'SharePoint
Draft' folder.
but when I try to check-out multiple files from 'Project' document library, it does not show any form for confirmation, as shown above (use 'Local draft option') and files get checked out on server it self, but I didn't find any local copy in 'SharePoint
Draft' folder. mean sharepoint does not support multiple file check-out feature for offline editing.
Please suggest if we can check out multiple files for offline editing in sharepoint 2010.

These all links talk about the check-in check-out feature, but my issue is that, when I do select multiple files for checkout Draft’s dialog
box does not appear and offline copy of files is does not created. how to fix that issue.

Need to find all Bugs and QF created for 8.0.0.13

Hi all,
I kneed to know how to find all bugs and possibly patches/QF created on top of 8.0.0.13 for bugs found in 8.0.0.13 after its release on Jan 2012. This is for my Customer that needs to know if they have to plan some QF in proactive way.
I can access to Internal Support Portal, so if there is any place where Support people can go I can access.

This the the way to go..just modify the col according to your table col names...
You can do a CONNECT BY query without a START WITH clause to link every node with each of its ancestors.
Getting the total is just a matter of GROUP BY.

I made this a bottom-up query (going from each node to its ancestors) rather that a top_down query (node to descendants) because you can't GROUP BY CONNECT_BY_ROOT.
In your description you implied that each node would be counted among its own descendants, but in the sample output you had 0, not 1, as the count for all the leaves, that is, managers counted as their own descendants, but non-managers did not. The column called count0 in the query above does that; the column count1 counts each node as its own descendant, leaves included.

Technology and training suggestions for data gathering app

Can anyone suggest some technologies and/or support to get us started on a mid-sized handheld effort?
Specifically, we're starting a project to build a handheld (WinCE-based) app which will allow users to fill out a short form and gather a GPS reading and perhaps a camera snapshot to accompany the form data. This data will later be imported into our J2EE app.
We have almost no handheld experience and don't know what technologies to evaluate, or what consulting expertise to set up to help start the team.

I'd suggest to implement it in a way that will be the fastest to deliver
working code, except the case when the main purpose of the project
is teaching you EJB, Weblogic and J2EE.
For this particular problem that could a session bean making
direct JDBC calls. It's just 5 lines of code...

I am being plagued by that infamous "heap zone" error, can someone perform some magic and fix this for me?

Last night I tried to save an iMovie project that was a little over 5 minutes long, minimal transistions, moderate effects, minimal text, and some pictures and music. I have been attempting to export it at 1080p to a folder on my HD but I keep getting the heap zone error. What I don't get is a week ago I was able to export a very similar project about 4 and half minutes with no problem.
The basic specs of my Macbook Air (mid 2011 model, 11-inch running OS X 10.7) are: 120GB solid state hard drive, 4 GB of RAM, and a 1.6 GHz Intel core i5 processor. I currently have available around 13GB of storage left on the main drive, and I have an external connected (paired with Time Machine). Now, I have been researching this problem all last night and all this morning and several of the known "solutions" have not worked for me. Looking in my Activity Monitor it seems whenever I try to export this project through iMovie, the "Free" RAM just progressively drops until it hits about 450MB of RAM and then I get the heap zone error message. and while I have been able to free up about 2.5Gb of RAM prior to exporting the project, it still manages to eat up all but 400-500Mb and then gives me the error. I'm pretty lost at what to do. Here's what I've tried so far:
- First instinct, restarted the computer
- Closed out most of my usually running programs
- Used the "Purge" command in terminal to free up 'Inactive' RAM (though it only free'd up a little bit, it always stops at 400Mb)
- Downlaoded a Cache Cleaner and did a 'medium' cleaning of local and system cache
- Turned off Time Machine
- Tried saving to my external drive instead of the main one (so obviously it's not a storage issue)
- Eliminated the use of special characters from the title
- Closed all processes in the Activity Monitor that weren't vital or being run by the system
None of those worked and I consistently got the heap zone error at the same point, about 1/10 of the way through in 'Preparing Project' Is there any other solutions to this problem? Preferrably ones that don't involve, deleting significant files or items from my drive, re-installing the OS, or any other drastic system changes because afterall my system hasn't drastically changed in the past week that iMovie WAS working so this has to be a simple fix.
I'm really just getting annoyed and fed up with this so PLEASE someone have the right answer.

This is a complex Error - so this is the notes I've got - so far
Error -108 memFullErr Ran out of memory [not enough room in heap zone]
Turn off - TimeMachine usually works - re-try.
(the Application down in the Dock - not the Device)
But this can mean many thing's - My first thought is
• Free Space on Start-Up hard disk. How much ? (other disks do not count)

Are your event clips in h.264? If so, you can solve this by Right clicking on your Event Name and choose "Optimize Media". You can choose Full for 1080P or Large for 960P according to your preference.
After you have optimized your Event, you should be able to Share with no problem.

-108 mean you are running out of (free) RAM.
Try restarting the computer just prior to sharing. That frees up RAM.

Final Entry
Ok - after much cutting, trial and error and days of work I have never really established a root cause for the -108 error. Nothing I did resolved the issue to the orginal project.
The only work around I have found is to split the Original Project into two.
What I found was that anything around the 60 mins mark and above just failed to render in HD and showed the -108 error.
What worked for me was creating two project files - one around 57mins long - the other a part 2 - around 17 mins long. All using exactly the same source clips, photo's, music and transitions as the orginal.
This now works. I guess having it split in two makes it a little easier to work with as I wont have to keep rendering the first part which does not change but really wish Apple would throw some light on this.
Anyway - I hope all of the above at least proves useful for others.

I have a very different kind of suggestion for the TASK BAR.
I was listening to songs when a video song came, the video was playing in the background..
i didn't realize that , when i saw the task bar, i liked the way how the transparent task bar became all alive..
The video in the background of the task bar made it do that, I have a suggestion if u can add a visualizer/Equalizer(in plain terms) in the task bar that whenever we play music it comes alive. That would be something very awesome..
Just try to imagine a visualizer in task bar, Give it a chance. :)

Can anyone suggest an international GPS nav app that offers map and POI downloads for offline access and route search?

I'm going to be in the UK with an American phone, don't expect mobile data, and I'd like to use this app instead of the £30 up charge for a rental GPS... I've seen the free Navfree and the cheap as free MotionX Drive, but have read Navfree has some spotty routing and MotionX won't allow regional (or even whole city, ftm) map downloads.

At $90 for the UK maps this is a too pricey for the use case. In case it wasn't clear, I'm visiting the UK short term so I shouldn't spend more than the £30 to hire a GPS nav system.
