Sort Components in task list

Dear Friends,
I have 20 different components [Assigned to a header assembly] connected to a single operation 010 in general task list. Now I have sorted this components based on Item number as the default sort is based on material criteria.
After sorting the components based on Item even I save the task list, the sort doesn't get saved. Everytime I need to sort it based on Item , any reason behing this?
I tried to create the variant for this too, but seems like its not working?
Is there any way I save this sort criteria as default for the task list?

Either manual or program/ LSMW. There is no standard mass change is task list available.

Default item category for components in task list

Hii all,
I need one help. We need to maintain default item category for components in task list.
Currently it comes as "L" and the field is non editable.
Is there any way wherein i can edit the item category to "N" or any other. Also need to know why this category "L" appears?
I can brint the default item category in the service order by the standard config.(PM/CS--> Maint & serv processing --> Main & Service orders --> General data --> define default values for component item categories)
But i want it in the task list.

Just go to task list and then to component. go to item category field and press F1 (help)

Categorization of the items in a BOM according to set criteria, such as whether they refer to an object (for example, material master or document info record) or whether they are kept in stock.
To my knowledge It wont be possilbe have item category N in task list by directly adding material.

Item category editable for components in task list

Hi all,
I need help to put the item category editable for components in task list.
Currently it comes as "L" and the field is non editable. Do you have any ideas or solutions? I already tried SPRO but didn't find anything useful.

Delecting Components in Task List

Hi
I have around 1500 Equipment Based Task List and 200 General Based Task List.
For all these Task List there are Components for each operation.
Is there any way in standard SAP that i can DELETE or REMOVE only the components in the task list and remain with the operations only ?

Mass change of component in Task list

Hi Experts
I have thousands of material and there are changes done for them to use them in maintenance order task list as stock or nonstock.
The task is to change the item category (from L to N or from N to L) of those materials used as components in task list and also find out those materials in BOM , Equipment TL and FL TL and change the item category.
1.can this be done using a BDC (checking all task list / BOM for that material and change the item category)
2. table to check component assigned to which operation in task list.
Any help for this requirement

There is no standard transaction for the changing of components in the task lists this would have to be a bespoke program.
If you are looking to change the components allowcated to the Bills of Material you can use transaction CS20 where you can replace the exisitng component category N with the new component category L.
There is transactions for changing the PRT and Work Center if you get your ABAP consultant to have a look at the PRT transaction/program (transaction CA77) he may be able to copy and ammend this to make things a little easyer.

General Task List Components

Does anyone know if there is a way to specify the item category for components when using a General Task List? Equipment Task Lists allow this functionality but I've found no way to change from "L" when using general and would like to be able to select "N". We are on ERP 6.0.

Looks like we can have plants set-up a repair parts assembly and assign it to the General Task List. Then they can configure the BOM as required for ordering.

Hi,
It is not possible to activate storage location field on the task list so that it can be manually filled.
Storage Location can be defaulted on the tasklist if you are assigning an assembly and the component from this assembly has the storage location filled.
Also, exit CNEX0027 could possibly be used to determine a storage location.

PM - Task List Components with "Non-Stock" item Category

Hi:
I am setting the PM module, in concret the preventive task lists. For a certain operations I have to assign some components to certain operations, but the system only allows to add "Stock Items", I mean the item category of the material row is set automatically by the system as "L" (Stock Item).
I am very interested in to assign "Non-stock items" (Item category = "N").
Is it posiible??
If the answer is yes, what I have to do? Have I to change some customizing settings?

In task list you cannot able to assign item category other than L which is stock item.there is no customization to allow the same
but you can indirectly assign the material with item category N.create BOM for the equipment then while adding the material you have to select from the BOM which is having item category N

Tasks re-sorting in the MPP file when synching with SharePoint task list

When synchronizing the MPP file with the ShPt task list, we have seen tasks re-sorting in the MPP file. Very annoying, especially with schedules with a large number of tasks. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this issue, and if you

FYI, we are using MS Project 2013 Pro and SharePoint 2010. We tried using the synch feature with MSP 2010 and it did not seem to be available.

The resource is created as a new resource with no security group and no loggin account, meaning it is strictly a resource and not a user. So this resource can be assigned on others projects but cannot connect to PS in any way (thus does not consume a CAL)
unless you convert it into a user by adding a valid account and a security group.

Problem While Adopting Task list having components, in PM Order

I am working in simple scenario in two landscapes
I have created a general task list having some component assigned to one operation. I am creating new PM order & adopting the task same task list using direct entry. The task list is getting adopted but when i am going in to component tab page
the storage location is not coming. I have to enter the storage location manually. which i dont want
But in other system i am doing the same thing & i could see the storage location is coming up automatically.
In both the system i have maintaned the stock of materials for plant xyz & storage location 0001
Can you please help me in resolving this.

Problems while uploading Task List - Service Pack with LSMW

We are trying to upload General Maintenance Task List using LSMW. We are using Standard Batch/Direct Input method with Object 0490.
We need to upload task list header, operations, maintenance pack, component and service pack for operations.
We have created separate files containing data for different structures and they are linked using Group, group counter and operation number according below

We have multiple operations per task list and multiple services per operation. The service pack is required only for a specific control key - PM03. As per the configuration this screen (PROGRAM - SPLMLSP, Screen Number - 0200) is accessible only when the value PM03 is entered in the operation. We are able to upload all other details except service pack details. We have tried using structure IBIPBDCD for the same.
While uploading the task list in foreground, when control key is entered as PM03 in an operation, service pack screen is displayed with error u201CNo batch input data for screen SAPLMLSP 0200u201D. The data provided in structure IBIPBDCD does not get processed at this time.
On exiting the screen using back button, the data in IBIPBDCD structure is passed incorrectly to fields in screen 3400 (SAPLCPDI)
Are we doing something incorrect? Is there a way to use this standard functionality to upload task lists with service packs?

Hi,
When loading the tasklists you need to define a source structure as per the IBIP structure. You have different levels for example level 1 - header then below that level 2 - Operations, Header Long text then below that you have level 3 - Operation Long text, Operation Package assignments, operation component allocation.
For each of these levels you need an identifier that links then together. In your source file specify identifier 1 for header, Identifier 1 and Identifier 2 for operations, identifier 1 identifier 2 and identifier 3 for packages. This way the system can create the correct structure when it reads the data from the text file.
The identifiers are numeric and will dissapear once the files are loaded. specify then in the source structure as 2 characters and remember to set the xcel file up to have a 2 character field.
For the header file each line will be a new identifier 1,2,3,etc.
The operations are assigned to the header and have 2 identifiers. The first corresponds to the header identifier the next is a sequential number stating at 1 and incrementing for each line e.g Header 1 op 1, header 1 op 2, header 2 op 3, header 2 op 4, header 2 op 5 (this would be 2 header records. The first with 2 operations on it the second with 3 operations)
The package is assigned to the operation and as such needs to have a third identifier. Header (identifier 1), Operation (identifier 2), Package (identifier 3) Example Header 1 op 1 pack 1, header 1 op 2 pack 2, header 2 op 3 pack 3, header 2 op 4 pack 4, header 2 op 5 pack 5
I have a loading file for each of the items i.e. Header file, Operation file, maintenance package file. This is then assigned to the respective source structure.

Add component in task list

Hello All,
I have an issue with adding component in task list (for example task list number EIMN-68) via transaction IA05.
When I try to add component to operation, I get the message *
Standard BOM PAEIMN-68 4 already exists
Message no. 29771
Diagnosis
You want to create a standard BOM for standard object PAEIMN-68 with usage .
A BOM already exists for this standard object and usage. You cannot extend a standard a standard BOM.
Procedure
Check whether the standard BOM is suitable for standard object PAEIMN-68 and usage . If it is not, you need to create the BOM for another standard object.
Is there any special way to create material master for such components.Whats the solution.

I want to add components.
Just now I was able to add components. I explain how:
When i added component number in operation, and press enter, system gave me the error that standard bom already exist. In the same screen I changed the BOM usage to 3 as universal usage. After this usage only, system allowed me to add components. No other bom usage allowed me to do so.
Also, why system took me to BOM screen if I just want to add components.

Copy General Task List from one service order to another one

I have the following questions:
1- From a service order in IW32, how can I see the link between the operations and components?
2- I want to be able to copy all the operations and all the components contained in a service order into another service order for a similar type of equipment. Can someone help me step by step on what needs doing?

Many thanks for your quick reply indeed on this.
Now this is the catch: I know that I could create a new service order based on a previously created one using IW31, however in my department they are creating sales orders for equipments in the normal SAP SD flow.
In one the material line they enter a service material which is converted into a ZC03 (Service order) when saving the normal sales order which creates automatically a Service Order number.
Because they create a lot of those service order in that way, they want to be able to populate them with the same list of operations and relevant components all the time.
If they would be using IW31 to make copies, they would have to cancel the previously generated service order deriving from the regular Sales Order in SD which we want to avoid simply because it alters the original sales document flow.
Question:
1- I tried to copy the description of the task lists present in my service order thinking that would also copy the list of relevant and subsequent components defined for each task. The system has only copied the description of the tasks but not the components.
Is there a way we could copy a list of general tasks to automatically have those coming with the relevant components?

I am trying to create Task List Operation Long text using the function module ..
SAVE_TEXT .I am passing the following keys

But the long texts are not getting updated in the Task lists operations .
Can anyone please suggest whether SAVE_TEXT will work for Operation long Texts or not Are we missing something

Second Dev. Client not appearing in Project Task List

Hi,
While defining the CHARM Maintenance Project in systems tab is it necessary to add all the logical components ( I have 2 development clients 130 as workbench & 100 as customizing so i need to add two logical components) before clicking 'Create Task List' button.
I created the task for one logical component 130->330->720 first time & project defined successfully with consistency check.
Now when I am adding 2nd logical component 100->330->730 & created IMG Project. But If I go to 'Show Task List' I am not able to find 100 client under source system development. Means 100 client is not in the Task List of Project.
Is there any way to add the Dev Client 100 in Task List of the Project under Source Systems->Development System
