Source path of the installer

Hello,
at the first start of  my labview application (after the installation) I want to copy some files from the "installation drive" to the harddisk.
For this I need the source path of the installer, but I doesn´t  know where to get it.
Can I read it with a labview system VI oder is the path anywhere in the registry (or can the installer write it in the registry)?
jan9101
PS: the files should NOT be copied by the Installer, they must be copied by the labview program.
      LV 8.6.1

Another option is to add the files to your project (or an autopopulating folder), and create a distribution for these items.
In the installer you can include this distribution and the files should be copied.

  • How do I convert documents automatically in the source path of the document

    Hi,
    i'm using Adobe Acrobat X Pro (10.1.6)
currently i'm looking for an opportunity to convert in PDF into the sourcepath.
Default is a local path like: libraries in my userprofile.
For example: if I want to convert a document to PDF from a sub folder it suggest's me always the libraries path and i have to click to my subfolder for every document.
    This is annoying.
How can I configure Adobe Acrobat X Pro that target path is automatically the source path of the file.
    Thank you in advance.

Hi, Barry. I don't know why this solution didn't work for me :-\ Does it matter that my page numbers are in the footer and not the header? When I follow your direction, the pages do get numbered differently. My problem occurs with the last step.
    1. Open the Inspector. (Check!)
    2. Click the Layout button (second from left). (Check!)
    3. Click Section. (Check!)
    4. Make the two settings shown: (Check!)
    5. Go to Page 1 and delete the contents of the Header. (When I do this, the content for all footers is deleted...)
    I really appreciate your insight.

  • HT1926 itunes will not install on my windows 7 pc running in 64 bit. Error message 'the feature that you are trying to use is on  a network resource that is unavailable" enter an alternate path for the installation package 'itunes64.msi'

I have tried running the installation file, I have also downloaded it and run it from dowloads, I still get the same arror message.

    Crikey.
These ones are tricky. But the following instructions are worth a try.
First do a complete uninstall of iTunes and related components (but don't reinstall just yet), as per the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    a. Launch regedit (Start >> Search Programs and Files >> type Regedit and open the regedit that comes up.)
    b. Access the following Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData \S-1-5-18\Components
    c. Perform the following actions
    i. Right Click on Components Folder
    ii. Select Permissions
iii. Select Full Control and Read Permissions options
    iv. Select Advanced Button
    v. Select Owner Tab
vi. Select to Change Owner to the Administrators
vii. Check the option “Replace owner on subcontainers and objects”
viii. Select OK when prompted that it may not change all.
    ix. Select Apply
    x. Select Apply again
    xi. Exit the Registry Editor
Now try reinstalling iTunes again. Does it go in properly this time?

  • LabVIEW cannot locate some components necessary to build the installer - looking for "Setup" installer

    Hi,
I have an application that has been upgraded to LabVIEW 8.  I have previously been able to build the exe and installer but recently the installer part of the build has been failing with the following error message:
Unable to locate the installer source for "Setup" distribution.
Locate the distribution and try again
The dialog includes a file path prompt that is pointing at the Installer\Volume directory where Installer is the target directory for the build.  The installer build is configured to span CD-sized volumes (650MB)
There are no sources or support files named anything like Setup that I can see.
The installer includes DaqMX and the LabVIEW 8 runtime engine as additional installers
The build works ok If I turn off the DaqMX driver installer

    Hi Andy,
I've upgraded DAQmx to 8.0.1 and the installer build now works....sometimes.
And sometimes it gives me a different error:

  • Data Source path in Pivot Table changes to absolute on its own

    Hello.
I have a .XLSX file, that was created long time ago (I don't even know in which Office version, but definitely not 2013), and maybe even was a .XLS file at first.
So it's a 4 MB file with 16 Sheets and 8 Pivot Tables.
All of the Pivot Tables use other sheets from the same file as Data Source.
Data Source for some of them look like this: 'Sheet3'!$A:$E
Everything is fine when I save the file, and open it from saved file.
But as soon as I try to move the file elsewhere, or rename it, or email it - all Data Source paths change to something like this: '\Users\Sergii_Litnevskyi\Desktop\New folder\[FileName.xlsx]Sheet3'!$A:$E
And it happens with all Pivot Tables. The problem is that it links to an old file path, where the file does not exist anymore. And it links to an external file, which is not what I want.
If I Save As and select different path and filename - then it works fine. So it's a workaround for renaming and moving files, but not for sending them to other persons.
I've read some threads, and people recommend disabling "Save external link values", but it does not help. It is already turned off in my office, but it keeps acting weird.
So what I need is: Save the file, close it, rename it, move it to other place, send it over email as attachment. And then I want to have the same Data Source path in my PivotTables as I had before I saved the file. How can I do it?
My Office version: Microsoft Excel 2013 (15.0.4454.1503) MSO (15.0.4517.1005) 32-bit

    Hi,
According to your description, I suppose the issue may be caused by some reason.
Do you link the outside data source?
I think if the file moves the file elsewhere, or renames, or email,
data source paths can’t be change.
But, your data source paths add the absolute path.
Do you link the outside data source?
I recommend you zip the file and send it as Email attachment.
If the issue exists, you may save as it in a new name and test it in another computer.
    Regards,
    George Zhao
    TechNet Community Support
I am pretty sure that I don't have any external links in the document.
However, even if I did - why would it change Data Source path for all of the Pivot Tables, when I did not request it?
I tried zipping it and sending to other person over email, but he got the file with changed data source paths.
I can even record a short video to show what happens.
Actually, I just did it. You can see the video here: http://screencast.com/t/qMBild3ck9b
It is rather big - 23.8 MB.
Let me explain what I showed there:
I opened my original file. I showed that there are Pivot Tables, whose Data Sources are in the same file, on various other sheets.
I showed this for all of the Pivot Tables in the document.
I saved the file using Save As in a different folder and under a different name (TEST.xlsx).
I then opened that saved file to show you that it is fine, and the Data Source path for one of the Pivot Tables is the same as it was in original file. It is the same for all of the other Pivot Tables.
Then I closed, and simply renamed the file to TEST123.xlsx.
Opened it, and first thing wrong - Security warning.
Then I got ‘Cannot open PivotTable source file ….’ messages. And, as I showed, now all Data Source paths have been changed to full paths of the file, that was created by Save As (TEST.xlsx) from original file.

  • Problem in IE - dependent on path to the .swf

    Hey All,
I try not to post questions unless I can't find the answer
anywhere else, and I find myself in that situation now. I've
searched Microsoft and I've searched these forums for posts from
others with the same problem.....and no, it's not about the gray
border showing up around my embedded flash when viewing in IE! lol
I already have that one covered.
I have a page on my site that allows users to link to us. The
page offers banner ads in both animated gif and flash formats, and
the code to put these banners onto users' own web pages is also
offered. You can view the page here:
    http://www.reallivesports.com/linkUs_banners.html
All the flash banners are is a looping animation and the
functionality of opening a web page when the user clicks the
animation (using the simple getURL function).
Now, I've done some testing and found that everything works
fine in browsers like Firefox. Microsoft IE, however, does not open
the webpage when the animation is clicked....at least not with the
code I'm offering my users. It seems that it WILL work in IE if the
.swf file is located locally to the .html page that is calling it.
However, if the .html page is pulling the .swf file from an
external domain, the animation will show up, but the clicking
functionality will not work. I hope I'm being clear in my wording.
Lemme give you the 2 examples just in case:
EXAMPLE 1 - My site is www.mysite.com and the source path for
    the banner is
    http://www.reallivesports.com/rls_480x60.swf
RESULT - Animation shows up, but clicking on it does nothing.
EXAMPLE 2 - My site is www.mysite.com and I have the .swf for
the banner on my server, so my source path to it is local. Simply,
    rls_480x60.swf
RESULT - Animation shows up, and clicking on it takes me to
    the appropriate web page.
So....yeah. Any insight anyone may offer would be greatly
appreciated. My apologies if this is a very newbie question, but
    I'm still learning!

  • Source paths with same folder name ?

    Hello Forum
I am using Flex Builder 3 to build an actionscript application.  I have added a few external packages that I use on a regular basis on a separate location on the harddrive so that in the future multiple apps ideally could reference to them.  Now the problem is that my current project sits in a 'com.projectname' folder and one of the external packages also has a 'com' folder.  FB seems to get confused and doesn't recognize the latter after I've added the source path in the project properties menu (under Actionscript Build Path).
    Any insight appreciated.
    Thank you.
    sk

If you could replicate the issue with a "minimal" application and share the code, an answer should be fairly easy to provide.

  • Get source path of .ai file`?

    Hi!
Have searched but i cant find a good way of retrieving the source path of the current .AI file. Is it possible?
IE: If i am working with a file in C:\adobe\Illustrator\beautifulfile.ai i want a function that retrieve C:\adobe\Illustrator\
    // Clint

    your example C:\adobe\Illustrator\beautifulfile.ai
    Well, try this:
    alert(app.activeDocument.fullName.parent.fsName);  // = C:\adobe\Illustrator
or (if last backslash is really needed):
    alert(app.activeDocument.fullName.parent.fsName + "\u005c");  // = C:\adobe\Illustrator\

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page). Here's a screenshot showing the particular links on the page that you should be clicking:
After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
    (2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • How to avoid the user selecting a different path in my installer

Hello again all you helpful forum-goers!
I have an application and a corresponding installer, and then I have a separate installer putting some support files in the same directory.  My problem is that if the user selects a different path to which to install my primary application, the secondary installer will not put the required support files in the same spot.
Now, I think I've figured out how to get the user-selected path from the "Run executable at the end of installation" option in the Advanced pane of the LabVIEW installer configuration, and I can pass that in to my secondary installer, and that should fix the problem.  However, what I'd really like to do is just not give the user the option to install my primary application in a different directory to begin with.  I've looked, but cannot find any way to do that.
Does anyone know of any way to not present the option to install an application in a different directory when using the LabVIEW installer?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
    -Joe

    Ben64,
That's great!  Thank you so much for your quick reply.  The only reason I haven't already accepted that as my solution is that it requires a manual post-compile change to a text file.  Ideally I'd prefer not to have to remember to do that every time I rebuild my installer.  Is there any way that you know of to automate the process?
If not, I'm happy to have a good solution even if it takes an extra step each time to implement.
    -Joe
