Sourcing on demand

Experts,
Please explain how sourcing is done on demand in E-Sourcing. I understand that in SRM, its done by creating the shopping card. How can sourcing be done on demand in SAP E-Sourcing.
Please help
Thanks,

  • Min Max Planning not reading Flow Schedules as Demand

We use min max planning to order all recurring purchases and flow schedules for production planning.
Min max planning report does NOT see flow schedules as a source of demand. Is this correct or are we missing a setup somewhere?
If min max planning cannot read flow schedules, is there a standard report to identify component shortages where items are between min max level but not enough on hand to fulfill the open flow schedule?

  • E-Sourcing 7.0

    Hi,
We are looking into a project to install E-Sourcing as "on-premise" solution and integrate with ECC 6.0 in backend.
    We have following questions:
      1. E-Sourcing 5.1 is supported under mainstream maintenance until 2012. I understood from some other postings, that next planned on-premise release is E-Sourcing 7.0. When it's going to be available for "General Availability" ?
      2. E-Sourcing 5.1 curently does not support IBM DB2 V9.5 or higher. Is E-Sourcing 7.0 will be supported on DB2 V9.5 (or even V9.7) ?
      3. Which Netweaver J2EE server will be supported with E-Sourcing 7.0 ? Will it still be able to deploy using Netweaver J2EE 7.0 ? (btw: E-Sourcing 5.1 is suppirted by Netweaver 7.0 SPS13 or higher).
      4. Will E-Sourcing 7.0 still be able to install on AIX server ?
      5. Should we wait until E-Sourcing 7.0 is released to start with the project ?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
    Cheers !!
    Satya.

    HI,
First of all, below statments are all based on the current plan and the actual details may change in the future.
    1. E-Sourcing 5.1 is supported under mainstream maintenance until 2012. I understood from some other postings, that next planned on-premise release is E-Sourcing 7.0. When it's going to be available for "General Availability" ?
[SK]  The next on-premise release is E-Sourcing 7.0 and it is planned for RTC (Releat to Customer / ramp-up) in Q4 2010 and planned for GA (General Availability) in Q1 2011.
If customer is open for on-demand deployment, the on-demand version with the same content will be made generally available in Q3 2010.  The next on-demand release is called E-Sourcing On-Demand Wave 7.
    2. E-Sourcing 5.1 curently does not support IBM DB2 V9.5 or higher. Is E-Sourcing 7.0 will be supported on DB2 V9.5 (or even V9.7) ?
[SK] In E-Sourcing 7.0, we are planning to support IBM DB2 V9.5 and V9.7.
    3. Which Netweaver J2EE server will be supported with E-Sourcing 7.0 ? Will it still be able to deploy using Netweaver J2EE 7.0 ? (btw: E-Sourcing 5.1 is suppirted by Netweaver 7.0 SPS13 or higher).
[SK] In E-Sourcing 7.0, we are planning to support NetWeaver CE 7.20 or above and NetWeaver 7.3 or above.
    4. Will E-Sourcing 7.0 still be able to install on AIX server ?
    [SK]  Yes.
    5. Should we wait until E-Sourcing 7.0 is released to start with the project ?
[SK]  This depends on each individual customer's situation.
    Thanks,
    Steven

  • Report builder connect to datasource outside of the network

    Hi,
Locally, we installed report server on Machine (A) and the sql Server on Machine (B).
My machine is also in the same network and via Report builder i can connect to report server and create shared dataset.
but outside of network, when i use report builder i can connect to report server but i cannot create shared dataset : there is window appears titled "Enter data source credentials" demanding to enter login/password.
I entered the same login/password defined in datasource created in report server but i obtained this message:
"A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.
(provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)"
how i can resolve it ?

Disabling the windows firewall doesn't mean that there isn't a network firewall.  Try using a port scanning utility from outside your network to see if the port is being filtered (behind a firewall), listening, or being blocked.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24009
You'll need to scan the port have configured for your report server URL, found through reporting server configuration manager in the advanced settings. Typically this is going to be port 80 or 443, but it could have been adjusted to something else, like
    8080.

  • MRS (Multi resoource scheduling) not working properly

    Hello All,
We have MRS 610  installed in our landscape. We have configured it to integrate with Maintenance orders. We are facing an issue as to not all orders are reflected in the planning board though we make exact replica of orders which already exists in the planning board. Those orders which are there in the planning board doesnot reflect the changes that are done to it in PM module. I have checked all the demand related configuration settings and all seems to be fine. The inegration between PM and MRS is not working properly. Orders are getting pulled into the planning board if we run the report /MRSS/SGE_DEM_DATA_MIGRATION.
We recently upgraded to SP4 level. Kindly help me to trouble shoot this issue.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Boby

    Dear Bob
As far as I have understood that your problem is that the backward integration is not happening.
That means whenever you are assigning a resource to the PM Order these alocation are not reflected in PM Order. Just check following points.
    1. Check weather you have activated back integration of PM or not !
    2. Check this under the node: Sources of Demands->Orders-> Control integration of PM/CS Orders
    3. Also make sure that you have activated back integration of demand type R3OR in the node Sources of demand.
    4. Check PM Settings related to Work centre
    5. Apply the Note 1135513 - MRS: Changes to standard for PM/CS
    integration
Also please go through the Documentation supplied with the sofware Installation CD for MRS.
It gives step by step activities how to proced with config.you will have to go through this documentation very thoroughly as all information is avalable .
    Also check this link
    http://help.sap.com/bp_serv603/ServInd_DE/html/index.htm
This link gives  best practices for services industry.
Go To Business Information > Preconfigured Scenarios > (Right hand side )>SAP ERP Scope >Scenarios - by Business Areas>Project Resource Management >Service Order with Resource Scheduling (MRS).
This will serve you as guidance for configuration.

  • PP Kanban control cycle

    Hi team,
I was referring the below statement to understand the control cycle.
The Kanban Control Cycle business object is used to control the flow of information and material between the demand source and the supply source in a pull environment. It controls the material quantities in production. It defines a loop between demand source and the supply source for recurring replenishment.
In the above statement, it is mentioned that, it is linking the demand source and supply source. In SAP, how we are linking the the demand source and supply source?
While creating the supply area in PK05, we are providing the storage location. Is this supply source or demand source?
In SAP, where we are assigning the another source (supply / demand source)?
    Regards
    psk

    Hello Mario,
Thank you very much for your detailed explanation on storage bin and container.
    1. So, if the storage location is not WM managed, there will not be any storage bin. The storage location itself will act as a storage bin. Am i right?
You said that, Containers are the physical means in which materials are kept in this process. a container usually equals a KANBAN. Normally there are at least two (but can be more) containers in a control cycle.
    2. We are using pallets to replanish the supply area storage locations (production store which is near to work center). So in this example, the pallets are called as "containers". Am i right?
    Consider the below example:
    3. In control cycle i have maintained the number of kanban as 4. As you said above, i need to maintain 4 containers. But i have only one field to maintain the container. How to maintain 4 containers in one field?
    Thank you.

  • Projected on hand quantity calculation logic

    Hi ,
I am trying to extract information for projected on hand quantities.
    Here were my findings
    1. MTL_SUPPLY_DEMAND_TEMP
this table has one column called ON_HAND_QUANTITY which stores Projected on hand quantity based on accumulating supply and Demand ( as per trm), However this table is a temporary table and data is also session specific, data will be gone once the session get closed.
    2. From Inventory user guide I got a point that "The projected on hand quantity of the item is , defined as Current Available + all future sources of supply and - all future sources of demand."
    Now my question is
    a. Is there a direct table for calculating projected on hand quantity in application.
    b. How do I calculate current available quantity then future source of suuply and future sources of demand.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi:
~ There is no direct table to get the projected inventory details.
~ Current on hand Qty for a given item shall be obtained from ON HAND QTY table.
For calculating the future supply upto a patricular date, all the expected supplies such as Receipts, Jobs, Internal SO transfer, etc to be considered.
For calculating the future demand, qty required for SO demand, forecast demand, ISO demand etc to be considered.
Projected Inventory = Current Stock (OHQ) + Expected Supply - Expected Demand.

  • Planned order run scheudle quantity getting dsitributed

    Hi gurus,
Can anybodyu please throw some ideas on why a planned order run shcedule quanatity be allocated to the custoemr sales orders upstreeam by distribution. For example on a give n date there is planned order for 100 pieces. If i look the pegged requirements then what the system is doing it distributing the 100 pieces over 10 sales orders. why would this happen. Also until a certain date in future MD04 is not planning planned orders to be built eventhough there are dependent requiremtns befor that future date. What could be tje reasons that we could start to explorre?
    Thanks
    Anusha

    Hi Anusha,
In SAP-ERP pegging is dynamic; I guess that you have a MTS scenario, with some lot sizing procedure that would get you to the situation that you have described. It only means that you produce 100 in one production run, and then this quantity is planning wise (pegged) assigned to the sources of demand (SOrds).
Anyway this goes through stock, so the real allocation to the orders is based on an ATP check in the order or delivery.
For your second question, check if you are using time fence definition (MRP View of material master) and an MRP type that is taking it into consideration.
    Regards,
    Mario

  • MRS (Multi Resource Scheduling) - Using Business Partners

In a previous (long) thread I had asked about using Business Partners and the problem I was having assigning work to a BP.  I keep getting the error message "no work center found for resource".  I was told that to fix this problem I was told "... For the work center error, all you need to do is deactivate the work center checks. Yes, these checks make relevance when HR is active.  Check the IMG: Sources of Demand -> Orders -> Activate Additional Checks When Saving Order Here you can deactivate the work center checks."
I deactivated the work center checks in the specified MRS IMG item but I still get the "no work center found for resource" error.  Any other suggestions?
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
    Oops !! I am sorry ...
The old solution (deactivate the additional check) works only while integration.
    You should deactivate here:
Sources of Demand --> Orders --> Control Integration Between MRS and PM/CS
Here, in the frame "Backward Integration" activate "No backward integration" for work center.
    This should surely help.
    Regards
    Varun.

  • MRS- Transfer assignment status from MRS to PS

    Hi Experts,
The business scenario is that when the assignment is created for a network activity in MRSS, we would like to set the user status in network header or activity.
Is there any standard way to setting the status in network?
My another question is that, is it possible to manually set the status in assignment in MRSS? if yes, how can this be done?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Manoj

There is also an option in the customizing to exlude orders based on the order header user status. This can be found under Sources of demand -> Orders -> Define resource planning relevance for PM/CS orders.
A user status has to be added and linked to TECO, then 'Relevance'  checkbox has to be unmarked for the corresponding user status.
THe only problem is that MRS (MRSS/PLBOTIME) will display orders with assignments anyway.
We are now looking for a way to (automatically) remove the assignments from MRS when an order is TECO'd to prevent the orders from appearing.
Does anyone know how to achieve this?
    Thanks.

  • MRS - Excluding TECO status ordes from planning board

Has anyone been successful in the above subject.  We do not want to see any TECO'd jobs regardless of if they have been scheduled and completed, or just completed.  I'm sure there is something custom we can do, however, if there is something inherent within MRS Configuration, that would be great.   Thanks

  • EC Payroll vs SAP On-Premise Payroll

    Hi Experts,
Can someone please point out the major differences between EC Payroll vs SAP On-Premise Payroll and what are the core features, limitations of both and what added functionality do they get with EC payroll and with SAP Payroll.
    Regards,
    Srishti

    Hello Sanjay,
Actually, Sourcing 10.0 will only be available On Premise. The SAP Sourcing On-demand offering is no longer available and is replaced by Ariba Sourcing.  In a more general discussion of the benefits of On-demand vs On-premise, the most obvious are the lack of up front licensing costs, no initial capital investment for the hardware and the simplification of ongoing maintenance and upgrades.   For On-premise, the main benefit is you own the software and you can implement it where and how you want and you fully control the timing and frequency of upgrades.  This type of decision is one that needs to include all the main stakeholders.
