Projected on hand quantity calculation logic

Hi ,
I am trying to extract information for projected on hand quantities.
Here were my findings
1. MTL_SUPPLY_DEMAND_TEMP
this table has one column called ON_HAND_QUANTITY which stores Projected on hand quantity based on accumulating supply and Demand ( as per trm), However this table is a temporary table and data is also session specific, data will be gone once the session get closed.
2. From Inventory user guide I got a point that "The projected on hand quantity of the item is , defined as Current Available + all future sources of supply and - all future sources of demand."
Now my question is
a. Is there a direct table for calculating projected on hand quantity in application.
b. How do I calculate current available quantity then future source of suuply and future sources of demand.
Thanks in advance

Hi:
~ There is no direct table to get the projected inventory details.
~ Current on hand Qty for a given item shall be obtained from ON HAND QTY table.
For calculating the future supply upto a patricular date, all the expected supplies such as Receipts, Jobs, Internal SO transfer, etc to be considered.
For calculating the future demand, qty required for SO demand, forecast demand, ISO demand etc to be considered.
Projected Inventory = Current Stock (OHQ) + Expected Supply - Expected Demand.

  • Moving average price calculation logic of material with Price Control "S"

    Dear Gurus,
As you know that there is a Moving price and standard price icon in the material master.
I want to understand the calculation logic of the moving average price of the materials having price control "S"
How the system calculates the MAP for standard price materials? The receipt from the process order I suppose is valuated at the process order cost after settlement, but if the issue has hapened for the material does the system recalculate the issue price also?
Below is the sample process order receipt and issue scenario:
    Receipt from process order 161000000223
300 kg and GR at standard cost value is Rs 5892
    Issue to process order 162000000294
250 kg and GI at standard cost value is Rs 4910.
Thus the balance at period end is 50 kg and balance at standard cost value is Rs 982.
Here in process order 161000000223 the actual cost is 10 Rs. Then how will the system calculate the MAP?
    Thanking You,
    Amit Dhanurdhari

    Hi
    Try the following calculations,
One of them will work depending upon your version and support pack
Expected MAP calculation ( As with price control V)
    = ((Qty before transaction*MAP + Transaction Qty * transaction
    Price)) / quantity after transaction
New Method ( when price control is S)
= Old MAP + (Price Variance w.r.t Standard Price/Qty after transaction)

  • Batch determination issue in process order Material quantity calculation

    Dear Gurus,
We are facing issue in auto batch determination in process order (Material quantity calculation ).
eg Material X  is active material 200 KIA used in BOM as
    10  X   200  KIA
    20  Y   10           Filler
    30  Z
    40  X   200  KIA
    50  Y
    60  Z
We select line item 10 and 40 and do Batch determination system proposes 2 batches for line item 10 as Batch A and B
and for line 40 again Batch A (with 0.01 KIA) and batch B proposed which is wrong.
For line Item 10 Batch A and B
For line Item 40 Batch B and C or as per FIFO logic.
As Batch A should be consumed in Line item 10 then it proposed Batch B and so on....
We have already maintain data in COB1.
Can any body explain what is wrong in determination.

  • Backorder although on-hand quantity exists

When I perform Pick Release step, the Order status becomes Backorder, although on hand quantity for the ordered item exists. In Exceptions, I got:
WSH_PICK_BACKORDER - Pick Release process could not allocate 1 of item test01 for order 49 as there was insufficient quantity available Or Inventory allocations have failed, and the line has been back ordered.
I saw on the forum that many other persons had this problem, unfortunatelly, none of the advices found here worked.
Does anybody have any other idea?
    Thanks.

Hi Out of my exp on OM with different projs.
i had found these cases which causes order to get back ordered.
Any issue related to Back ordering will defenitely fall 1 among these cases
    1.     Check in Shipping Transaction Form, make sure the order still in “Ready to Release”.
    2.     There might be a lot of possibilities for this problem:
    i.)     Order on hold
ii.)     Do not have enough qty
    iii.)     Lot expired
iv.)     Wrong reservation (even inventory have enough qty)
v.)     Inventory reserved for other orders.
vi.)     Inventory picked up by other orders
vii.)     Previously return to stock not done properly.
    3.     Case 1, check if the order is on hold. Check the order type in Shipping Transaction Form ® “Detail” ® “Source”.
    4.     There is another way to check the order type. That is go to WMS Control Board ® “Picking”.
    5.     Or go to OM Shipping View to see the order type.
    6.     Go to the correct “Sales Order View” instant accordingly by keying in the order# and order type.
    7.     Click on “Open Order” ® “Action” ® “Additional order info”.
    8.     Do the same for order level and line level.
    9.     Case 2 & 3, go to Material Workbench to check if the lot has expired or not having enough inventory for this order.
    10.     We can check if any lot is reserved for other order as well.
    11.     In Material Work Bench, go check for each lot in the physical locator by clicking on the “Attribute” button. (lot level reservation)
    12.     Alternatively, go to Shipping Transaction Form ® OM Shipping View, or go to “Lot Number” (Ctrl + L), click on Attribute column to check the SO reservation of the lot.
    13.     Compare the SO info with the order that are having problem.
    14.     Case 4, go “Reserve Supply” form (Ctrl + L) to check if the order is wrongly reserved.
    15.     Case 5, in the “Reserve Supply form, we can check if the qty is being picked up by other order as well. (order level reservation regardless of lot)
    16.     Also, can go to Material Workbench ® Availability, to check for the available to reserve.
    17.     Case 6, it might have high possibility the qty is taken up by order with different line, or other orders which have been auto launched.
    18.     If this is the case, must do backorder.
    19.     Go to Transact Move Order Form ® tab “Pick Wave” ® View/Update allocation ® Lot/Serial.
    20.     Click on the checkbox for order which need to be backordered, then go to Tool ® Back Order Line.
    21.     Case 7, ask the user if the order has done return to stock previously.
    22.     If yes, it might has high possibility that the return to stock not done properly.
    23.     Check the lot state, must be in “Resides in inventory”.
    24.     Check in Material Workbench to see if the lot is still packed with LPN or not.
    25.     Check also if the lot is in physical locator rather than logical locator.
    Thanks,
    Raj

  • Tcode Lp10 requested quantity calculation.

    Hi Friends,
I want to know logic for requested quantity calculation in LP10 as I see that there is stock available for the material but qty is not calcualted in requested quantity field.
    Thanks,
    Kiran

    Hi
Requested quantity gets calculated based on how much left over stock you have in production supply area. Suppose in PSA available qty is 100pc and if you consumed only 70pc in the production order fow which you have staged it. SO left over stock will be will reduce the requested quantity by 30pc for next production order.
In your that may have happened, at first instance there might be some leftover stock was available, while next if might have consumed by someone

  • Process Order Base Quantity calculation - WPL

    Hi,
In COR2 when changing Total order quantity (Litres) (CAUFV-GAMNG) the Base quantity (Kgs) automatically re-calculates (CAUFV-BMENGE).
As far as I can see this is calculated from the WPL found in the material master > additional data > units of measure e.g. 1000lts = 1255kgs.
However if I create a process order it calcualtes with say 1.255 Kg/l, I then change the WPL in the material master, come back into the order and then change the Total order quantity. The base qty is still using the old WPL.
My question is where does the base quantity calculation take the WPL from? If it does take it from the material master is there anyway of making the process order pick up the current WPL in the calculation and the not the previous one?
    thanks
    Tom

  • Sequence of steps n Material quantity calculation functionality

Hi, Pls advise the sequence of steps involved in MQC functionality in Master Recipe? Thank You.

    Hi Raju,
Below are the steps you can explore.
    1. Assign Classification to component if you are using any batch classification values for calculation of other components. This you can do it in BOM section of Master recipe.
    2. Now goto calculation tab for the component of which quantity calculation is required.
    3. In this screen you can see the characteristic assigned for calculation in batch classification as per step 1.
    4. You can insert simple calculation formula using reference of these cells. The reference is simple like the references we have in excel. For example (001; 002) this given you value in 1st column & 2nd row.
    5. At the time of batch determination or quantity change in Process order please make sure to click on Calculation tab & then save. This is required to get the quantity calculated as per formula.
    Hope this will help you.
Please let us know the industry you are working in. This will help all to help you better.

i am working with PI.I have some doubts .Pl.clear the following.
1)Is it mandatory to create bath determainationin PI.
2)As our bom components vary for the header material. How could it be map in master recipe.Whether this material quantity calculation link with batch  & how it perform.

  • On-hand quantity.

    Hi All,
When i query to see the on-hand quantity for a item, it does not show me any. The form was doing that earlier but it does not do now.
Was wondering if any profile option/role has anything to do with it. M on R12
    Ashish

I have OHQ in all of the sub-inventory for the items.
But some how it would not enable the buttons on the form to view the availability...
I checked the tables they look perfect, but the form is greyed and it would not show up any data.
THis is not specific to one sub-inventory its happening for all of them..
    Any suggestions...

  • Item substitute and on hand quantity control

    Hi all!
    I've a problem...
I've an item in a BOM with no on-hand quantity ( or little reserve..) but I've another item that can substitute the first one with its availability... how can oracle WIP (and MRP Workbench) understand this?
I try with "substitue" in BOM but it doesn't work ( what does it need for????? ).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hi, Silvia
Arumugan is rigth. In fact, MRP doesn't work with substitute items. APS can plan substitute items, MRP doesn't.
When you set BOM with the substitute information, it's only documentational. In other words, you need to change in WIP the items you'll consume in that work order.

  • On hand quantity exists or there are open delivery transactions for this item

    Hi all,
on hand quantity exists or there are open delivery transactions for this item in oracle apps at the master item copy from & lines status in Transaction Form in Backordered.
    Thank You

    Hi,
Make sure you completely receive the PO, then you should be good enough to convert the item to expense.

  • File Project Clean up is crashing Logic every time

File>Project>Clean up is crashing Logic every time. I just copied the project folder to a brand new external 1TB Glyph hard drive. Everything has been working fine. The project is very big, with about 120 tracks. I am sure that I have lots of files to clean up, as I have been working on this project for months, and I have auditioned probably hundreds of soft synths that I'm not using anymore. Simultaneously, the Universal Control software (that controls the Presonus Firestudio Tube software mixer) has gotten buggy and now freezes all the time. I've come to a stand still and am not sure where the problem is.

    Having this same problem now.
    Any luck with yours?
I found a workaround: I had a big project going with lots of different logic projects in one folder--thinking that would save time and space, because they referenced many of the same soundfiles.
I started doing cleanups after a while, and they started crashing logic, i got the spinning ball, the fan turned on immediately to high, activity monitor told me that logic wanted 100% of CPU time, and always had to force quit.
I took the latest project and created a new folder, stuck the project in it, opened the file, then saved, which copied all the soundfiles into that new folder. Then when i did a cleanup, it worked fine.
So it has something to do with, er, having too many projects in one folder? too many sound files referenced by too many different projects?
I don't know. But there exists this workaround.
    HTH.

  • Scheduled ship date using PO /  On-hand Quantity

    Hi All,
ATP calculates the scheduled ship date using the pegging from PO or from the available On-Hand-Quantity when the order lines are created.
I couldn't find any difference in the order tables whichever way the scheduled ship date is created.
Any idea how to find based on what this date is calcualted from OM?
    Thanks
    Geetha

Seeing sales order in OM you can identify whether schedule date is coming from onhand or purchase orde or lead time. But this information is not stored anywhere.
You should check this sales order on planning workbench and pegging area should tell you the required info.
So whatever you are asking is available on planning instance (MSC data).
if you are not using ATP based on planning output then I don't think you will be able to get required information.
    thanks
