  • Office 2013 SP1 fails with code 17302 - SCCM 2007 R2

    Hi,
    I am trying to deploy Office 2013, along with SP1, in the following order:
    1. Prompt to close all office apps and continue (vbs)
    2. Installation of Office 2013, using modified msp.
    3. Restart
    4. Installation of SP1 with command line /passive /norestart.
    I am doing this all through a package I created in SCCM 2007 R2.
    The first few programs works well. However, when the installation of SP1 starts, SCCM launches the program, then SP1 fails with code 17302.
    Manual installation, through command prompt, with the same switches works fine.
    The error is only when remotely deploying.
    The system is Windows 7 X86 with latest SP.
    Please help!

    Hi,
    Have you checked the log file? Does it say anything there? Also, where is the SP1 installation file stored? Since this only happens while remotely deploying, check the network or the setting of your filewall.
    By the way, you can slipstream Service Pack 1 with your Office 2013 installation media, Office 2013 will be directly installed at Service Pack 1 level, saving you the trouble of applying it afterwards. For the details, please refer to this article:

  • EnumServicesStatusEx failing with ERROR_INVALID_DATA

    Hi all,
    After accidentally creating a service with a display name and service name of "-1", EnumServicesStatusExW() begins to fail in an unexpected, undocumented manner.
    MSDN states the buffer size required can be queried by passing NULL for lpServices and 0 for cbBufSize, where EnumServicesStatusExW will fail with ERROR_MORE_DATA.  After creating a service with a name too short that appears first alphabetically, however,
    this API fails with ERROR_INVALID_DATA instead.  The parameter pcbBytesNeeded is still set correctly regardless of the error, and lpServicesReturned is set to 1 instead of 0.
    Looking a bit deeper into the call I can tell that REnumServicesStatusExW does correctly fail with 0xEA (ERROR_MORE_DATA), but ScConvertOffsets64 fails with the error ERROR_INVALID_DATA when it determines that the ENUM_SERVICE_STATUS_PROCESS structure data
    is malformed.
    ScConvertOffsets64 in this case is only called because REnumServicesStatusExW was actually able to fit the first service entry into the dummy buffer provided (this is normally expected to fail) by EnumServicesStatusExW when lpServices == NULL.

    To clarify, this only happens with 64 bit builds, and the system must be restarted after creating the faulty service for the bug to occur.
    Here is some sample code demonstrating the problem:
    #include <windows.h>
    #include <stdio.h>
    #define PERR(x) fprintf(stderr, x " failed: %d\n", GetLastError())
    DWORD QueryServiceEnumSize()
    SC_HANDLE hScm = OpenSCManager(NULL, SERVICES_ACTIVE_DATABASE,

    BOOL success = EnumServicesStatusEx(hScm, SC_ENUM_PROCESS_INFO,
    SERVICE_DRIVER, SERVICE_STATE_ALL, NULL, 0, &service_buffer_size,
    &num_services, NULL, NULL);
    DWORD lasterr = GetLastError();
    if (!success && lasterr != ERROR_MORE_DATA)
    PERR("EnumServicesStatusEx");
    CloseServiceHandle(hScm);
    return lasterr;

    abort();
    SC_HANDLE hService = OpenService(hScm, L"-1", SERVICE_QUERY_STATUS | DELETE);

  • Error: SAP installation of ERP Sr3 with ORACLE 10g on Windows 2008 server

    Dear all,
    while installaing SAP ERP SR3 with ORACLE 10g on windows 2008 server...
    we are getting error as not support.
    please confirm wether this version of OS is uspported or not.
    thanking you in all,
    by
    Animesh

    actualy we tried to change Oraparam.ini file in the installation folder...
    edited ...  windows= 5.0, 5.1, 6.0
    we had entered 6.0
    Yes - that is necessary.
    and started ... but after starting we are getting ERROR like unKNOWN and installation popup (OUI popup) exiting with .. error popup.
    Yes - because Oracle delivers its own Java version - which is too old to run on Windows 2008.
    if you suggest us to use 2003 64 bit for temporaray .... purpose.
    and is there any specified procedure to UPgrade OS.
    like... DB should be updated before OS upgradation.
    You can run 10.2.0.4 on Windows 2003 x64 nicely and upgrade to Windows 2008. Since there is no "upgrade" (it is the highest version supported) there´s no need to do anything.
    The question you have to ask is:
    Why do you need Windows 2008? Is there any technical implication?

  • Uninstallation of SCVMM2012 SP1 fails with error 1603

    Hi all,
    I have the following situation - a single box with SQL2012, SCOM 2012 SP1 and SCVMM2012 SP1 (connected). As I am upgrading to VMM 2012 R2, I had to uninstall the VMM 2012 SP1. The issue is that the SP1 setup fails with error 1603. Before uninstalling
    I removed the VMM rollup update (there was only one installed). Here is part of the vmmserver.log file I think is somewhat relevant:
    MSI (s) (40:F4) [21:33:23:983]: Invoking remote custom action. DLL: C:\Windows\Installer\MSI12C7.tmp, Entrypoint: DisableWsmanCredSSP
    Action start 21:33:23: DisableWsmanCredSSP.
    CustomAction DisableWsmanCredSSP returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)
    I tried the following cmdlet - disable-wsmancredssp -role server and
    disable-wsmancredssp -role client but setup still fails with the same error.
    I hope someone can enlighten me regarding this as now I don't have any VMM working :D
    Thanks in advance!
    Ivailo Tzenkov

    I too am seeing this error.  I was using Windows 2012 Server with SQL2012 installed locally.  I had installed SCVMM 2012 with SP1 included, then applied Update Rollup 2.  No further URs had been installed.  The SCOM 2012 SP1 console was
    installed on this system for SCVMM/SCOM integration.
    I was attempting to upgrade to VMM 2012 R2, so I chose to uninstall VMM server but retain the database.  I too had to uninstall UR2 due to experiencing problems described here:

    any ideas why its failing?

    Hi,
    I've seen the same error on a customer where we had Windows Intune Client (SCCM) installed previously. Did you try it on a newly deployed computer? If you had Intune or another CCM client on it previously make sure you clean it up. Here is a well formulated
    instruction:
    http://douwevanderuit.wordpress.com/2014/01/30/removing-windows-intune-client/
    Usually when deploying to many clients we use a startup script, there is a great one that Jason Sandys made in the link below.
    http://blog.configmgrftw.com/configmgr-client-startup-script/
    There should be no problems deploying SCCM 2012 R2 clients on Windows 8.1 unless there is something wrong with either the setup or the client computer.
    All the best, Jesper Hassing - MCTS SCCM 2012 - MCSA 2012 Server - MCP

    I found the issue. The web.config file became damaged on the server. C:\Program Files\Windows Server\Bin\WebApps\CertWebService\Web.config is the file. Performed a search and replace, replace all instances of "%SBSPRODUCTBINPLACEHOLDER% with C:\Program Files\Windows
    Server\Bin, restart IIS and run the Connector software install again. Here is a KB on the issue:

  • Cisco VPN client install fails with Error 1722 on Windows 7

    Hi,
    I am having issues with laptops upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.
    Prior to the upgrade they are running Cisco VPN Client 5.0.05.0290.  These laptops also have Juniper Network Connect 6.5 and Citrix web client installed.  The windows upgrade advisor made no recommendations regarding uninstalling / reinstalling these apps.
    I have done an inplace upgade to Windows 7 (Windows Vista Enterprise 32bit to Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit) and after the install the Cisco client is not working.  Uninstalled the client (the uninstall was successful) then reinstalled and the installation fails at Installing Cisco Systems Virtual Adapter - error 1722 there was a problem with the windows installer package.
    I have followed the steps for a manual uninstall of the Cisco client and then tried the install again - still not successful.  Interestingly (or not) the Juniper Network Connect also fails with the error The Network Connect Virtual adapter driver is not installed properly.  This also fails to reinstall after being removed.
    I tried removing the VPN clients on another laptop and then running the upgrade but the same errors occured when reinstalling the VPN Client.  I have tried the Winfix and DNE patch from Citrix but these fail saying there is a corruption in the application.
    On another laptop where only the Cisco VPN client was installed a reinstall was required after the upgrade, but it did install successfully.
    On a clean image these applications all install fine, however I have a large number of laptops do upgrade and don't want to do a fresh install and settings migration on all of them.
    What files / registry entrys are involved with the DNE adapter so I can manually clear it all out before reinstalling?
    Anything else I can do to troubleshoot this issue?
    Cheers,
    James

    You should be able to install the 64 bit version of the Cisco VPN software
    Latest version is vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0440-k9.exe
    You should download and run MCPR.exe first, to clean out any traces of McAfee products that conflict with Cisco VPN.
    http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
    If there is a problem with vbscript registration on the system - there is a fixit tool from Microsoft for that:
    MicrosoftFixit50842.msi
    (Using Shrew VPN is a possible workaround.)

  • Problems with RH 8 and Windows 2008 64-bit servers with IIS7?

    I have been informed that my company's servers are being upgraded to Windows 2008 64-bit servers with IIS7, from Windows 2003 & IIS6. Probably will be online in April 2011.
    I have a project created using WebHelp, RoboHelp HTML v5. I have RoboHelp HTML v8 (haven't had a chance to use it yet). We are currently using IE7 on XP. Does anyone have any info on issues with RoboHelp v8 WebHelp projects running on Windows 2008 64-bit servers & IIS7 that I need to be concerned about? I thought I should convert the project developed using RH 5 to and RH 8 project, then FTP it to the new server when it becomes available.
    Any helpful info would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Alden

    Acrobat 8 is not certified for Win7, particularly the x64 version. If you got the installation to go, the first step is to update AA8 to at least AA8.2. The x64 with XP required at least AA8.2 and I suspect that has not changed. I would suggest updating to the latest, either from the help menu (until no more updates are available) or by downloading the updates from the adobe.com>downloads page. For the latter, download ALL updates after your current version and install them in ORDER. They are not cummulative in most cases. You only need to reboot after the final update. The updates may get you going. If not, you may simply have to upgrade to AA9 or search for what others have been able to do in your situation.

  • DTM install fails with error 1935 on Windows 7

    Trying to install DTM 600_b047 on a Windows 7 64-bit system.  Install fails with
    Error 1935 and HRESULT= 80073712. Have tried to run via Run As Administrator.  It seems to get most of the way through before failing.  (Without Run As Admin, it fails much earlier complaining about a cab file not found.)
    Any ideas?

    Hey adairlw,
    Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    What security software is currently installed on the computer?
    Also can I get you to re-name the install shield folder which is located under C:\Program files\common files.  Once you re-name the folder, then try to install the software.
    I look forward to your reply.

  • Issue with VPN configuration in Windows 2008 r2 and 2012 Servers.

    Hello ,
    I hope you can help me to fix this issue, it's been 5 days since I a, trying to configure VPN in your 2008 and 2012 Servers. On both platform  (2008 and 2012) I am getting same error while configuring VPN (after role installation).
    "Unable to load C:\Windows\System32\iprtrmgr.dll". So, I have removed IPv 6 entry from the registry and now able to start server (not sure what configuration it took automatically).  I tried to disable "Routing
    and Remote Access" service and got the same error while enabling "Routing and Remote Access" is running but VPN is still not functioning properly).
    I am getting following error,

  • Issue with RDS Licensing on Windows 2008 R2

    I'm attempting to consolidate 2 very small Citrix environments (only two total servers in each environment) into a single farm and when attempting to migrate RDP applications to what will be the full production environment, I'm receiving the following error
    on only 1 of the 2 servers regardless of who launches:
    The remote session was disconnected because there are no Remote Desktop client access licenses available for this computer.
    Here's where it gets really interesting:
    All servers are running Win 2008 R2 and are at the same patch level
    In the environment I want to retire, each server has it's own Remote Desktop licenses that are on a Per Device level.
    In the environment I want to migrate to, each server has it's own Remote Desktop licenses, one server is (currently) set to Per Device, the other Per User - but the one that is Per User is the one that can connect successfully.
    I've attempted to change the RD Session Host Configuration to point only at the server that appears to be successfully allowing connections with no success.
    I've reviewed other threads of similar error messages and none seem to apply.
    I'm at a loss, please help.

    Hi,
    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    From your desciption it seems that you have set the RDS CAL to per device on one server and the one which is facing error, you are pointing that server to the server which is already set as Per device CAL and thus you are facing the error. Means The RD licensing
    mode on the Remote desktop server set to Per Device, while the license server might have only Per User CALs.
    If this is the case, the license server issues only temporary licenses that cannot be upgraded. When the temporary licenses are within several days of expiring, "Event ID 26, Source: Application Pop-up" appears in the application event log on the client.
    The event message indicates the number of days remaining before the temporary license expires. Similarly, "Event ID 1011, Source TermService" appears in the application event log on the terminal server.
    There are solution to this issue by changing the license mode and check the result. Also it can be possible that the remote desktop server might not be able to locate the license server.
    Please go through below link carefully. (As it’s for server 2003 but we can verify the solution as described)
    Troubleshooting Remote Desktop Licensing Error Messages
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc756826(v=ws.10).aspx#BKMK_12
    In addition, you can try following solution.
    1 - Open regedit
    2 - Go to this location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSLicensing
    3 - Then Delete MSLicensing key totally.
    4 - Now reconnect to the same server machine through remote desktop.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.
