Spam message sent to all contacts, devices were off

I just saw I sent this message:"Hi!" and then a shortened link to all my contacts. I use skype on 3 devices, my main pc was not even plugged in, my surface was in sleep mode and my android phone was in standby. I already changed my password, but what steps do I take to make sure this does not happen again and that my privacy is kept?

Odd Skype message sent to all contacts that i didnt send

So today i went on skype to check msgs and all that and i clicked on one of my contacts to say hi but noticed a weird msg sent to them. it read: Hi (username)! Recomend (url). so the username was his username and then a weird url that looked like a facebook page for him coz it had/(username)(i cant give you his username so i just put (username)) i clicked on the url and it came up with this weightloss thing.... i then noticed it had sent to practicly all my contacts. i changed my password. what els should i do?

Error message -3253 across all my devices

I'm getting the error message -3253 in all my devices for TV shows, apps, movies from iTunes ... I have reset everything from the routers to the individual devices and nothing, software is up to date and apart from my apple TV everything else is last generation

If you Control-Click (Right-click) on a folder, select Synchronize now. Does this help? If not you might want to select folder then select Rebuild under Mailbox in the Menu bar.

A user had synced all of his contacts from his computer and iPhone to his iCloud. Today, his iCloud sent out the same message 20 times to all recipients. We were able to transfer all calendar items and contacts back to his pc and then disable iCloud. However, it still sent out the messages. Any ideas?

It's a carrier issue. I have AT&T and had this issue with my friend (who had an Android) and my mother (who had a feature phone). Both of them have Verizon for service and I'm thinking the issue was on Verizon's end. They both just dealt with it as we tried all sorts of things to get this sorted out (other than contacting Verizon directly) and had no luck.
They've both switched to iPhones so it's a moot point for us now, at least.

Ios 8, all my devices go off when someone calls

updated my ipad air, my iphone 5S, and my work iphone 5 to ios 8
i havent noticed any glitches except a feature i do not like.
everytime someone calls either of my phones, ALL THREE devices go off. i do not like this. how do i turn it off. i tried to fiddle around with some settings, but no luck.. the 5 is behaving but not the 5S

Yes, the website works fine on my PC computer.
It was working fine on my iPad too until the message showed up. The website took a long time to load and when it finally did.. That message showed up twice. The site works now but at times will stop loading.
I do feel like my Internet connection on my iPad is spotty today. One minute it is loading super fast, the next, the page won't load at all. Could be my connection though.
I do not have the debug console set to on. Should I set it to on?

Spam emails sent from my contacts

Recently 2 sets of spam emails were sent using my email address to people in my contact list. All reciepients were in my contact list, my mail sent box does not show these emails as outbound from my computer. The only other option is it was from my BlackBerry curve.
Is there malware or a virus that could have sent them form my iMac?

It is very very unlikey that this happened because of some malware on your mac. There are no viruses on macs . It is most likely that someone hacked into your email provider. It hasn't happened to me, but I know of a lot of people that has happend to. You should probably contact your email provider to get more details. also, check on the links to the threads listed in the box on the right "More Like This". Some of them may be a little bit dated, but might give you some helpful information as well.

How do I set up my iPhone to show message alerts on my locked screen only for messages sent by my contacts?

iPhone now is able to show you messages received even though the screen is locked. This is time efficient. But I do not want to see messages on the locked screen from people who are not in my contacts list. I tried going to settings>notifications>messages> but only saw view in lock screen for all messages. Is there a way to see messages on the locked screen from people only in my contact list? I appreciate it.

Which adaptor? What kind of LCD?
Normally, all you have to do is attach the appropriate cable to your laptop, connect it to your other monitor/screen, and make sure the monitor is powered, turned on, and has the correct input (if it has multiple inputs). For example, a monitor might have DVI and VGA, and an "input switcher" to select which one you want.

This message shows as text / multimedia messages and it can't be deleted. Under the collective messages folder the message shows deleted.

All contact groups check off but only synced one group

mini2 only synced one group of contacts (not the one I wanted!) even though all 3 groups show checkmarks.

Hi...I need some advice! Yesterday spam was sent to all the addresses in my inbox. I have Mail set up so it automatically retrieves mail from the aol server. I don't use Address Book. ClamX found nothing...I immediately changed my password on the aol website. I don't click on improbable links, nor visit ***** or gambling sites where such danger often lurks. I need to determine if the problem is local - if some evil thing is now living in my computer - waiting for its next chance to act - or if it was a server-password hack of some sort. I just have no experience with such stuff! Does anybody know what steps to take to prevent it from happening again...or how it could have happened in the first place? I'd hate to have to wipe my drive. I would appreciate any feedback! Thanks....

Okay guys...so...
I Macscanned my entire User's file, (took hours, but not knowing which specific folders could be infected, I figured it better to take no chances!) and no spyware activity was found. From what I'm gathering here, and with the scanning I've done, I'm now believing that the problem is remote and not local... I'm hoping that the new PW alone prevents that from happening again. I do use Word... and every now and then accept Word file attachments, but they generally come from Film productions with a pretty tight network. As far as social networking goes, I have profiles on a few (only for business networking) and in general, stay uninvolved with the entire online social scene - so I surely haven't contracted anything from that corner...
So I'm carefully considering this prob solved... although because of Klaus's tip on using Network Utility, I can now post the pathway (for one of the many assorted links that went out) here... just in case it says something obvious that can further help.
Another point: I myself received no spam-mail from me...and I don't use Address Book - if this offers any further clues..
The scans were important, because next week I'll FW my iBook's content to my new MBP, and I surely didn't want to infect my much-looked-forward-to new Mac experience!

Mail in 10.7.5 suddenly off line on all my devices....HELP

iMac (24-inch Early 2008) running OS 10.7.5
MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2010) running OS 10.7.5
iPad 2 (wifi) running iOS 6.1.3
iPad 4 (wifi) running iOS 6.1.3
Here's the problem. I have internet connection. But suddenly today all my devices are off line in Mail.
Have re-set my dsl modem multiple times.
Ran Connection Doctor and got red lights on all 4 of my mail accounts (iCloud, 2x verizon addresses, and a work email address)
Checked all the settings and as far as I can figure, the are what I have been using.
EXCEPT......when I open the EDIT OUTGOING SERVER area of the Mail preferenced for my iCloud account, it choses my work account server. I re-set and save it. But it's right back to the wrong server when I go back to check. WHAT"S UP with that??????
Anybody have any insights into this problem?
Yes, I can get my email on the individual websites, but that means signing on and off of 4 websites every 15 minutes or so. Not gonna work.

Thank you for all the information you provided about what is going on with Mail on all your Apple Devices. I found an article with steps that I think might help.
I recommend reviewing the article, but I found some steps that sound like they apply specifically to what you are experiencing in the section titled "Mail Connection Doctor shows one or more red dots in the account Status column>Click here if your Incoming and Outgoing email account settings are correct, but the issue persists>Click here if a 'Could not connect to this (server type) server…' message appears":

Check for third-party firewall software
Third-party firewall software, such as Little Snitch or Symantec Norton Personal Firewall, could be blocking the necessary ports. If such software is installed, make sure the firewall is not blocking these ports:
ports 25, 465, and 587 (for sending email via SMTP)
ports 143 and 993 (if you use IMAP email)
ports 110 and 995 (if you use POP email)
If you're not sure how to enable the correct ports, try disabling the third-party firewall completely, then test for the Mail issue. Note: The Mac OS X v10.6 firewall does not interfere with ports needed to send email.
Check for Internet Service Provider port blockingYour Internet Service Provider may be blocking the SMTP ports needed to send email.You can use Apple's MobileMe service to find out if your Internet Service Provider is blocking the sending email protocol SMTP:
Open Network Utility in the Utilities folder—in Finder, choose Go > Utilities (or press Shift-Command-U).

Enter "smtp.me.com" in the "Enter an Internet or IP address to scan for open ports" field.
Enable "Only test ports between _ and _", and enter 25 for both port fields.
Click "Scan" to test.

My icloud email messages disappear on all my devices after about a week and I cannot locate them - not in archive on icloud.
I use several devices to receive emails - imac, ipad, iphone and samsung galaxy note. I put all read emails to trash on samsung, ipad and iphone but keep on imac and wish to retain there for reference. All other accounts remain but icloud emails disappear. No devices say to delete from server. Can anyone please help?

If this is your iCloud email account, whcn you delete an email from any of your devices, they are moved to the trash on all devices/computers, then the trash is automatically deleted after 30 days. That's how IMAP accounts work. You can't delete them from your device and keep it on the server because you are reading and deleting from the server itself.
If you want to keep them on your Mac, you'll need to move them to a folder rather than deleting them. When you do, they will be moved to the same folder on your other devices.
