Split and incorrect view of folders

Am running up-to-date LR 5. Migrated files from Windows Vista to iMac a year+ ago. The view of the Folders is split. This issue started after the migration to Mac. I'll try to show the file structure that LR displays.
> Pictures
    > Lightroom photos
       > 2009
       > 2010
       > 2011
       > 2012
       > 2013
          > July
          > June
          > May
    > Lightroom photos
       > 2013
          > August
          > December
          > November
          > October
          > September
       > 2014
           > April
           > March
The LR display of the folders seems to indicate that there are two folders named Lightroom photos; but there are not. For some reason LR has broken up the display of folder Lightroom photos. I tried a merge within LR but then realized that a merge does not carry along the attributes of files, meaning, modifications made to the photos in LR. One can see that after a certain point LR decided to create this separate view, beginning with August 2013. I've had the Mac since before August 2013. New folders are displayed in the lower Lightroom photos folder where you can see those created in folder 2014.
Would anyone know what might have caused LR to begin this type of display? And more importantly, how can it be properly corrected such that there is a single display of the folders within folder Lightroom photos and no photo modifications are lost?
Thanks!

Yes, I've confirmed that the two Lightroom photos folders point to the same folder in the finder.
I have a vague memory of having difficulties doing the migration (moved Windows photos onto external drive, then attached external drive to Mac for final movement to Mac hard drive). However, all that I did is forgotten.
Thank you!

  • Successfully imported json bookmarks file into FF19, and library view shows folders correctly, but Sidebar view shows no folders and so loses my organization.

Longtime FF user. Still on 3.6.28 mostly, due to my need for my large collection of hierarchically organized bookmarks. I have 2000+.
    Trying FF 19 today.
Successfully imported the json file from other system.
Via the Bookmarks menu, Show All reaches Library view and everything is there. Except for the fact that this FF design will not let me see the contents of more than one folder at one time. Which is why I've stayed with 3.6.28.
Now, a friend has shown me that I can see multiple folders AND the contents of multiple folders using Sidebar Bookmarks, just as I wish. Great! But after importing my bookmarks, all I see is a random list of bookmarks in the Sidebar view. There are no folders or subfolders so with this view I lose all the organizational structure I see in the Library.
Am I missing something? Is there a way (an addon) that would put everything in the Library Right Pane? instead of just one folder? That would be fine.
    OR
Is there a way to preserve the organization of my bookmarks after importing them, in the Sidebar view? That would also be fine.
Thanks for any helpful answers. Otherwise, back to 3.6.28 I go.

In the Library view, everything functions as Mozilla would have it. Yes, individual bookmarks are not to be seen, except in the right side pane. And only from one folder at a time. Returning to the beginning, that was my complaint with Show All Bookmarks and why I've stuck with 3.6.28 coupled with Old Manage Bookmarks.
And that's why I asked if anyone is aware of an addon to make the contents of more than one folder visible in the right hand pane of the Library view in FF 4 and up. I've even tried Mike S's "hack" of OMB to see if I could make "Organize Bookmarks" return on FF19. No luck.
So Library View works as it "should". But that's insufficient for my needs.
You've indicated that Sidebar view SHOULD function as I wish. But so far, barring a fix, I don't see folders, subfolders nor individual bookmarks ''in the order'' that they started in, from PC1. I don't know why that failed. I'm happy to keep trying things, til the moon turns green.
Proceeding along -- sort Library? Yes, sorting works. But since the Library is functioning, unsorted is my preference. To make the Library View FULLY ADEQUATE though, I'd want to see bookmarks in different folders viewable at one time. What I need is the Sidebar view with all the folders showing, replicating the Library's View hierarchical structure.
HTML export and import? I'm sure I can import one into FF19. But I don't know how to export them from PC1 as my bookmarks are in .json format. When I try to do that, the dialog window confines me to selecting an HTML file, and so I can't export the .json file I have. I'm sure there's an easy answer, but its not intuitive.
    Thx

  • How to center page in Split and Design view?

When I look at my template in Design or Split View, it is flush right on my screen with a top margin of 20 px or so. But when I check it in Live View, or when I preview it on Firefox/Safari/Chrome/Opera, it is centered and flush against the top of the screen.
I should add that the template was fine in Design and split, until I started mucking about the a spry menu. My page fell apart, I deleted the spry with plans ot start over. But then I discovered my template flush right (in Design and Split, anyway).
Can anyone please tell me how to correct this? I suppose it's more of a nuisance than a tragedy, as long as the page is centered when it goes online. But it is a nuisance to work on the right side of the screen.

  • When setting the split-days to "every 15 minutes," the week and comparison views show incorrect time ranges for the day

When I change the "split-days" interval time, under Options > Settings, to
15, or every 15 minutes, the week and comparison views don't show the correct
    time range for the day.
    <P>
For example, if I click View to display the calendar and then click Week to get
a weekly view, the time range displayed is from 6:00 a.m.
to 4:00 p.m. If I click Comparison to get a
comparison view, the time range displayed is from 12 p.m.
    to 6:45 p.m.
    <P>
In this example, should both of these views show the same time range, from
    9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.?
No, the two views will not necessarily show the same time range. The time
range for the comparison view will start at the beginning prefs time only
if you have something scheduled (on any day of the week) starting at that
time. For example, on one of the days during your week of comparison, if you
create an event that starts at 9:00 a.m. and then open the comparison view, the
time range displayed will start with 9:00 a.m.
    <P>
Additionally, view times will expand past the configured settings if events
span past the time range. That is, if you have an event that spans from
5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the event will be reflected in the view, even though
your time range may be set to go only to 6:00 p.m.

    Umm yes.
The settings are stored in ''prefs.js'', so you could swap various copies of this file in and out.
However, the system will load ''prefs.js'', then, if present, ''user.js'' , so you can set up just your changes in ''user.js'' .
The sort of line you need to look for is like this:
    <code>user_pref("mail.server.server14.check_time", 10);</code>
You'll need to do some research to identify which of your accounts is which.
Search for the account's email address:
    <code>user_pref("mail.identity.id10.useremail", "xenos&#64;example.com");</code>
Use the id number to locate the account number:
    <code>user_pref("mail.account.account29.identities", "id10");</code>
Use the account number to find the server number:
    <code>user_pref("mail.account.account29.server", "server14");</code>
Finally, you can then use the server number find the account's time setting:
    <code>user_pref("mail.server.server14.check_time", 10);</code>
This last entry may not exist, if you have never changed the setting from the default 10 minutes.
Do be careful with your typing and copy/pasting; if the file fails the syntax parser it will silently fail.
And make sure Thunderbird is shut down when you do the swap. If it's open, it may overwrite changes, and in any case, it only reads the settings file when it starts up.

  • Differences Between Entry View and GL View - Doc. Splitting

    Hello Experts,
I need some help about an issue occuring in our Client right now, differences in Entry view and GL View. Any help will be appreciated.
    - Debit or Credit Balance posting of an account does not match with the balance posted in GL View, generally the GL view posts an amount above of the Entry view, and then it cause the Debit/Credit balance does not match with the movement in Entry View. Example Below from Quality System:
Debit Balance in January 2013: 319.794.641,38
    Movement from FAGLL03 - OK.
    Movement from FBL3N - Entry View Difference: 319.794.619,86 - 319.794,641,38 = 21,52 Debit
Checking NEW-GL Movement, we found the posting difference:
The Document Entry View: 5.465,22 Credit From Bank Account
The GL View - SAP Credited 5.486,74 Bank Account PC 1411 and Cr Bank Account PC 1444.
Total:  -5.486,74 + 21,52 = 5.465,22 OK on Balance, but not OK from movement considering the Entry view.
    - Questions:
    - I understood the calculations, it was calculated as mentioned in note 1072850_Field overflow or very large amounts due to doc splitting
    - Is this supposed to happen by SAP Doc.Splitting perspective?
    - I am facing this issue because we need to send to the government account balances and their movements, and according to laws we need to pay additional amount for addtional lines generated, so it was better to send the information based in Entry View, not in GL View.
    - FS10N Show warning message "New general Ledger Implemented, use FAGLB03", and when i execute the transaction the balance showed was the balance from FAGLB03.
    - SAP 605 APPL.
    Regards,
    Leandro.

  • How to change to Icon View for some folders but and List View for the rest

I've had a bear of a time with View options in my folders. I'd like some folders to be in Icon view and other to be in List view. For what ever reason if I change the view option of one folder it changes the view option of EVERY folder. What can I do to make this happen?

I was about to ask the same. I'd like to use icon view normally, but list view for folders containing lots of text documents. It looks like the solution is using View > Show View Options, change the folder to the view you want, and then tick the box at the top fo the dialogue for "Always open in __ view".

  • Design view and browser view in DW are different than when I view from local folder

I'm brand new to Dreamweaver CS5.5 and here is my problem:
I've made an html page in dreamweaver with a banner, with an additional graphic and some text on top of the banner.  It displays just fine in every browser when I view from the local folder, but when I open DW and view, it displays incorrectly in all three design, live and browser views within DW.  If I make changes to the css file until it views correctly in design view, it no longer displays correctly from the local folder and it still doesn't view correctly in live or browser view within DW.  If what I'm doing isnt going to display accurately in any of the views provided by Dreamweaver as compared to the live server, whats the point in having this software?  I could just keep building webpages in notepad and uploading with CoreFTP.
Any suggestions?  Is it some setting that I dont know about that I need to change within DW?   Please help.

align="center" is deprecated (obsolete) code in XHTML & HTML5 doc types.  Instead of styling markup with HTML, you should be using CSS.
    CSS
    .center {text-align:center}
    HTML
    <p class="center">some centered text here</p>
With respect to break tags, in XHTML doc types the correct syntax is <br /> not <br>.  However your usage of line breaks is inconsistent with good symantic markup.  Use headings <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> for important keywords.  Use <p> for descriptive paragraphs.  Use <ul> <li> or <ol> <li> for lists.  Line breaks should be used minimally if ever.
XHTML doc types require all tags to be lowercase.  Uppercase tags will throw errors.
Your design is too rigid.  When text size is increased in browsers, your content is unreadable.  See screenshot.
    SOLUTIONS:
    1) DO NOT USE POSITION ABSOLUTE.  You don't need it.  Absolute positioning removes content from the normal document flow resulting in a jumbled mess.  Use default CSS positioning (none) with margins, padding & floats to align elements.
    2) Remove HEIGHT values from all CSS containers.  Height limits a container's capacity to hold more content when needed.  Container height should always be determined by the amount of content it holds; not explicit values.  If required to reveal a background image, for example, use CSS min-height instead of height.

  • Using numbers 2.3 how do i split windows to view more than 1 spreadsheet at a time?

using numbers 2.3 how do i split windows to view more than 1 spreadsheet at a time?

    Hi seth,
    Numbers vocabulary:
    Spreadsheets (aka: Document)
    contain one or more Sheets
on each of which may be placed one or more Tables
each of which contains one or more cells
each of which may contain either data or a formula.
Spreadsheets open in separate windows. Depending on the contents of each spreadsheet, and the scale at which you want to see it (and the size of your display), you can view more than one spreadsheet in the same manner as you can view more than one of any kind of document—open two documents in separate windows. Resize the windows to allow both to be viewed at the same time. Place and scale the individual documents to permit viewing the desired part of each
Sheets within the same document cannot be displayed simultaneously. You can make and open a copy of the document, then open and view both copies as described above, but this introduces new opportunities to edit the wrong copy. You could Copy a Table from one part of the document, open Preview and go File > New from Clipboard to create a PDF copy of that table (readable, but not editable), and view the spreadsheet and pdf documents as described above.
Tables can be rearranged, or have rows or columns (or both) hidden to permit simultaneous viewing of selected parts of both.
A Table can have Table > Freeze Header Rows and Table > Freeze Header Columns set to keep these rows/columns visible as the rest of the table is scrolled. Or can have a range of rows (or columns) hidden to allow viewing of rows (columns) adjacent to that range visible on the same screen.
Numbers does not support freezing of rows or columns other than Header rows and Header Columns.

    Barry

  • Lost disclosure triangles in coveflow and list views in home folder

I ran the 'chflags nohidden ~/Library' command in terminal to reveal the user library which worked just fine. The problem is that I have lost the disclosure triangles in my Home folder view in List and Coverflow views. When I click home in the sidebar There are no triangles by the folders. Double cicking a folder to see subfolders shows the triangles okay. Problem is only at top level. All other folders in sidebar are fine. I have relaunched finder, ditched finder preferences and cache, booted into safe mode, restarted several times all to no avail. Also reran the chflags command hidden and nohidden. Would appreciate any assistance.

  • Serious bugs in pdf and doc view

    Hello
I have looked on the forum for other postings on this and have not found them if they exist. I have had a Pre Plus for about six weeks (Verizon) and overall love it and am glad I got it. Hoping some things like GPS get improved (which I know is most likely Verizon not Palm) but this bug is the first thing that has the potential to seriously hamper my experience with the phone:
This week I took a work trip and before leaving added several (5-12) docs and pdfs to my Pre so I could access them on the fly during the trip when it was not possible or practical to use my laptop. This included some pdfs of directions and maps since the GPS is not up to snuff on the Verizon phone. Others were longer documents I needed to refer to when out in the field (ag related work visiting farms).
Here's the problem, which applies equally to both doc and pdf view:
-menu freezing: more than half the time the menu would freeze. In other words, not let me scroll. I could open documents on the screen but not scroll to see others further down.
-doc and pdf file freezing: the file would often work fine for a few minutes, i.e. I could zoom, move across the page with the touch screen, change pages, etc. with no problem. But then after a few minutes they would often freeze, allowing me to see only what was currently on the screen. Shutting down the app and reopening only worked sometimes. I often had to do that many (5-7) times to get it to work again. Maybe rebooting would have worked but the Pre takes way way too long to boot up for that to be at all practical in the context I was using it in.
Do these apps break down when too many docs or pdfs are loaded? I wouldn't consider a dozen too many so I am hoping the answer to that is no.
I really hope Palm figures this out and can fix it. (I hope they allow for more zooming while they're at it.) In the meantime, are there alternative apps to use for docs and pdfs? I would pay a reasonable price for it if it exists. I have only found ebook readers so far.
I also posted this on the precentral forum here
    http://forums.precentral.net/showthread.php?p=2467182#post2467182
and you'll see that although most people report that they do not have this problem, a couple of other people apparently do.  For me it is a big problemwhich if not fixed will affect decisions on future phones...
Thanks to anyone who can help.

Did you re-try cloning with CCC after you had first re-trashed the items *directly from the 502 folder window* you obtained via Go to Folder?
If you can see the items in the *Go To Folder> /.Trashes/502* window, then you apparently have *two different* .Trashes>502 folders. The items that keep re-appearing in your Trash icon window (the ones you did the GetInfo on) are in the HD>.Trashes>502 folder of your external drive. The Go to Folder command that I gave you is looking at the HD>.Trashes>502 folder on your startup drive. The Trash icon on the Dock may not look at that folder - trashed items on the startup drive normally go into Home>.Trash, a completely different place.

  • Difference Between G/L View and Entry View in New G/L Accounting

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me the difference between the G/L View and Entry View in New G/L Accounting as we are upgrading from 4.7 to 6.0.

    Hi,
Entry view is the view to show how you have done data entry while posting a transaction and general ledger View is the document splitting view, where system will show you the split posting which system creates on its own.
Example given by Alex above is general ledger View, ie: how system would split the line items based on base item categories.

  • Is it possible to have the same Split Code/Design view in CS5 that I had in CS3?

I am not a hard coder.  However, like HTML, I could easily edit PHP in CS3 Dreamweaver's Split Code/Design view.  It was more designer friendly, intuitive, etc. I could see/edit/move tables, placed graphics, text, etc.  CS5 doen't allow me to see my PHP pages this way. Can this be fixed to have the same Split Code/Design view?  I would appreciate any assistance you can offer.

To restore the cs3 style horizontal split of code and design views, go to the 'view' drop down menu and untick 'split vertically'.

  • How can I allow a customer to upload an image to be stuck onto a mug or t-shirt and then view what it would look like on that mug or t-shirt?

How can I allow a customer to upload an image to be stuck onto a mug or t-shirt and then view what it would look like on that mug or t-shirt?

In the absence of drivers, a rather nasty way to achieve this would be to ensure that your software always occupies the same portion of the screen such that you know the position of the 'sample' button. You could then simulate a mouse click at those coordinates when you require a sample to be taken.
This would not be a robust solution as a user could move or minimise the window, or other windows could also find their way into the critical position and cause the application to work incorrectly or cause unexpected things to happen.
However, if you just need a short term work around this method might be acceptable, just be aware of the risks if you try it.
Searching for simulate mouse clicks and having a play is the way forward.
As an example of simulating a mouse click in a certain position, have a look here:

  • Thumbnail Icons in list and Column View

I am trying to find out how to change icons for media files (pics/movies) from generic file type icons to thumbnail previews of the file. I Know its possibel because one of my folders (photos/iphoto/origionals.....)shows up in the column and list view as thumbnails. NONE of my other folders do though. I have tried messing with the view options, and i know you can view thumbnails in the ICON view in finder but this is not what i want to do. I also know that in column view you can preview files in an extra column, also not what i want. So anyone know how to make all icons in all finder views into thumbnails?
    Thanks

The "icons" you are seeing are QuickLook icons that show a preview of the content in the file. AFAIK, there is no way to disable it. However, you can go into Finder>Preferences>Advanced and enabled the Show all file extensions option to help distinguish between filetypes.

  • Mail files on server and webmail view don't match

    Hi there,
First-time poster... sorry if this has been addressed ad infinitum.
We are running Msging Server 6.2-6.01 (according to 'imsimta version').
I have a problem with a user's account. The account has a mailQuota of 20Mb, of which about 89% is currently used. If I log in to webmail as the user and go to 'Manage Folders', it says that there are 13Mb of messages in the 'Sent' folder, in 19 messages. However, when I look at the messages in the 'Sent' folder through the webmail interface, the size of the 19 messages only adds up to around 4Mb. If I change the View dropdown from 'Default' to 'All' when looking at this folder in webmail, it shows that there are 435 messages in the 'Sent' folder. The 416 messages that appear when I select 'All' have a red 'X' mark in the envelope icon. If I get a shell session to the mail server and look in the user's 'Sent' folder, all the 435 messages are there in the filesystem.
From perusing the archives of this forum, it looks like I need to run 'reconstruct' for this user's account (or their 'Sent' folder) to fix this problem. I downloaded the Admin Guide and looked at the doco for the 'reconstruct' command, but it's a bit vague to me... So...
Should I run 'reconstruct' to fix this problem?
If so, what syntax should I use to just 'reconstruct' this user's 'Sent' folder?
What would the syntax be to 'reconstruct' all folders for this user?
I see that if I don't use the right arguments to 'reconstruct', it will reconstruct all accounts on the server, which I definitely don't want 8-)
    Thanks in advance,
    Guido.

    Hi there,
First-time poster... sorry if this has been addressed
    ad infinitum.
We are running Msging Server 6.2-6.01 (according to
    'imsimta version').
I have a problem with a user's account. The account
has a mailQuota of 20Mb, of which about 89% is
currently used. If I log in to webmail as the user
and go to 'Manage Folders', it says that there are
13Mb of messages in the 'Sent' folder, in 19
messages. However, when I look at the messages in the
'Sent' folder through the webmail interface, the size
of the 19 messages only adds up to around 4Mb. If I
change the View dropdown from 'Default' to 'All' when
looking at this folder in webmail, it shows that
there are 435 messages in the 'Sent' folder. The 416
messages that appear when I select 'All' have a red
'X' mark in the envelope iconYep. These messages are "marked for deletion". The user hasn't "compressed the folders", which is what allows Messaging Server to delete the files overnight.
You can set an expiration rule for "deleted", and expire these automatically, if you like, or you can suggest the user set his mail client to "compress folders on exit", or even compress them, now.
This isn't something broken, so there's nothing to "fix.
    . If I get a shell
session to the mail server and look in the user's
'Sent' folder, all the 435 messages are there in the
    filesystem.
