Split record fetched from long text

Hello experts,
I am fetching a long text that has a value like this:
06/25/2002-12/15/2005
How can I split it in such a way that I will put the 1st date(06/25/2002) to field1 and
2nd date(12/15/2005) to field2 in my itab. Again, thank you guys and have a nice day!

Hi,
Data : wa_temp like line of itab.
split data at '-' into wa_temp-field1 wa_temp-field2.
append wa_temp into itab.

  • To display records fetched from the DB through ALBPM, in a custom JSP

    I want to display the records fetched from the database through ALBPM in a custom JSP as a table.
    Currently I am fetching the records and putting them in a BPM object group and sending it to the JSP as a BPM object. Now in the JSP I am trying to iterate and create a table to display the fetched data using the JSTL tag ==>
    <c:forEach ...... >
    </c:forEach>
    But I am always getting the following error in ALBPM workspace:
    The task could not be successfully executed. Reason: 'java.lang.RuntimeException: /webRoot/customJSP/CustomerSearch1.jsp(29,2) No such tag forEach var in the tag library imported with prefix c'
    Though there is a tag forEach var in the JSTL?? How to solve this error or is there any altrnative way to display the records in a JSP ??
    Thanks,
    Suman.

    Hello. I use custom JSP and it works well. You have to make sure 2 things:
    a) You have imported the libs, including these lines in your JSP:
    <%@ page session="true" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core" prefix="c" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://fuego.com/jsp/ftl" prefix="f" %>
    b) The variable you are using in the "forEach" statement is stored in the BPM object you pass to the JSP in the call.
    Hope this helps.... Bye

  • Recording Differences in Long Text Changes via Table Logging and AUT10

    Hello,
    I am trying to record changes to Long Text generated in a DMS DIR.  (This field is the Language Dependent Description field.)  We have set the system profile param rec/client.    We have enabled table logging for STXH & STXL in SE11.  When we make a change to the Long Text, we try to display the results in AUT10.  A change is indicated but when displayed, the text seems identical.
    When displaying Logging status in RSTBHIST, the Active box for STXL is not checked despite the fact that we have set the "Log changes" box in SE11.
    Note #573291 talks about installing a PH-ELR add-on.  Is that necessary if we are already running SAP_APPL 6.04?
    Also, is Table Logging the best approach to capture these changes to Long Text?  Is there any way we could use Change Docs"?
    The field width of DBTABLOG-LOGDATA = 16000 if that matters.
    Thanks for any responses.

    <b><u>This is correct.</u></b>
    Below is the portion of HTML template code in which I'm defining the web screen pushbuttons, providing the pushbutton names, and linking same to the function codes defined in the R/3 transaction.
    This is my first experience with ITS, so if I've missed something glaringly obvious, I apologize in advance.

  • How to pass variables to a program called from long text of an error msg ?

    Hi,
    The aim is the following: in the long text of an error message, there should be a link; this link must call a program or a transaction and pass to this program or transaction the four variables of the error message. Is it possible to insert such a link with parameters in the long text of the error message ? If yes, what is the syntax for this ?
    (I searched in the forum and found the way to insert a link to a transaction, but I found nothing about parameters).

    Thank you for the answer.
    Unfortunately, this solution is not applicable in my case. I'm using the application log and the scenario is the following:
    - the user displays the application log in transaction SLG1
    - he sees a lot of error and succes messages
    - by dubble-clicking on these messages, he displays the long text of the messages
    - I want a link in these long texts to a transaction using the variables of the messages. I tried inserting a link to a transaction, and the transaction is well called, but with a breakpoint I checked variables SY-MSGV1 to MSGV4 and they are empty.

  • How to retrieve the long texts from  purchase Info record (ME13)

    Hi,
    How do I retrieve the long texts data from the tab, Texts of the Purchase Info record(ME13).  I want to retrieve the current long texts data(long text1, long text2 long text3, long text4) for a given purchase info record. These long texts points to the structure BRM06I.
    So, now how do I fetch the data from the structure BRM06I. Is there any function module for the same..
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    Texts are stored in tables STXH & STXL (header and item). You can search these tables by selecting Text object = EINA and Text name = Info Rec #. The text ID's you will see are the ID for various texts maintained.
    Cheers !

  • Long Text printing in SAP SCRIPT

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement of printing long text in sapscript.
    There are 15 condition types for each item in sales order and one long text for each condition record.
    Each long text has multiple lines i.e. for one long text it may have 2 lines and other may have 1 or 3 lines or etc.
    My trials :
    I used read_text() function mudule in a routine which is being called from the sap script to get the whole long text which has 5 lines and is stored in an internal table.
    Now is there a way to transfer the whole internal_table data as a whole into the script i.e. is there a way to transfer the table from the routine to the sapscript.
    Thanks in advance.
    kalikonda.

    Hi
    In addition of my include solution.
    you ofcourse can use a perform statement if you havea maximum of lines which is possible.
    like (if you have a maximum of 5 lines
    define &line_1& := ' '
    define &line_2& := ' '
    define &line_3& := ' '
    define &line_4& := ' '
    define &line_5& := ' '
    Perform getsomedate in program abcxyz
    using orderno
    using itemno
    changing &line_1&
    changing &line_2&
    changing &line_3&
    changing &line_4&
    changing &line_5&
    Endperform
    when printing the data
    /: if &line_1& NE ' '
    IL &line_1&

  • Reg how to retrieve long text

    actually the requirement is given below , am stuck at fetching long text ......can anybody help me in retrieving the long text(suppose two or three lines) into single variable and passing it to read_text function module as per the condition
    Plz reply ASAP............
    i need to combine data from two tables n also add long text field in to the final internal table.
    requirement is
    IF QPMK- LTEXTKZ = u2018Xu2019 then Fetch the Long Text as
    Language = P_SPARCHE,
    TEXT ID = u2018QPMTu2019
    Text Object = u2018QPMERKALu2019
    Text Name = QPMK- MANDT + QPMK-ZAEHLER + QPMK-MKMNR + QPMK-VERSION + Language (single character)
    Combine Values in a single internal table such that the table has only QPMK-MKMNR, QPMK-SORTFELD, QPMK-DUMMY20, QPMT-KURZTEXT, QPMT-LTEXTKZ, Long Text

    hi abap_sap leaner,
    try to avoid using + for combining multiple fields, instead use concatenate and then pass to text name,
    then u have to loop line table(which contain long text) and store each value from the loop in a variable of length 1500.
    pls refer the following,
    hd_name = p_ebeln.
      call function 'READ_TEXT'
        exporting
         client                        = sy-mandt
          id                            = 'A01'
          language                      = sy-langu

          object                        = 'EKKO'
      ARCHIVE_HANDLE                = 0
      LOCAL_CAT                     = ' '
       importing
         header                        = header
        tables
          lines                         = hd_lines
       exceptions
         id                            = 1
         language                      = 2
         name                          = 3
         not_found                     = 4
         object                        = 5
         reference_check               = 6
         wrong_access_to_archive       = 7
         others                        = 8
    here u have to loop hd_lines and store hd_lines-tdline values in a variable for every time the loop executes....
    finally the variable contains long text..
    hope it will help...

    Hi
    You have to fetch this Long text of this Material using READ_TEXT fun module by passing the 4 parameters as mentioned by you  by writing some code in the program or by writing the external subroutine using PERFORM statement
    Only Application HEADER and ITEM texts can be included in script using the INCLUDE command
    So write the code for the Read _Text fun module and fetch it into Internal table lines and pass/print those to script
    pass the same 4 parameters
    Test name - material no(MARA-MATNR)
    object - MATERIAL
    text id - GURN

  • How to count no of records returned from a query?

    Hello,
    I need to find out how many records displayed from a query without writing any other queries.
    i mean that.
    I have a query such as:
    query = "select * from users";
    and the resultset for it is rs.
    and i need to display how many records fetched from this query without using any other query such as "select count(user_id) from users" etc.
    Is there any function ?

    No, unfortunately there is no method or property that will tell you how many rows have been returned by a query.
    People use many different techniques.
    1.The simplest would be, keep incrementing a counter in while ( rs.next() ) and at the end you'll have the count. But only at the end, after the loop.
    2. Run another query with count(*) just to fetch the count.
    3. Run the same query twice, once for counting and then again for printing out. Very dumb idea though, might as well do 2. suggested above.
    4. If you have a scrollable resultset, you could go to the lastRecord and then getRow number and hence know how many there are and then rewind the resultset. I don't know how advisable using scrollable resultsets is.
    5. Create a slightly clumsy query like : select count(*) as "totalcount", emp_id, emp_name, emp_email, emp_phone from employees group by emp_id, emp_name, emp_email, emp_phone. You'll need to use the group by clause since count() is an aggregate function and you can't mix aggregate functions and columns unless you add the group by to all the columns you're fetching.

    Hi All,
    The standard text will be stored in Name = ORDCONF_TEXT_(sales org)_(distributionchannel)_(division)
    Text ID = ZSD
    Examples: ORDCONF_TEXT_4000_01_01 , ORDCONF_TEXT_4000_01_80 , ORDCONF_TEXT_1000_01_01.
    Requirement :
    The print program /form will need to pick up the appropriate standard text based on the Sales Area (combination of Sales Org / Distribution Center / Division) of the sales order [VBAK-VKORG / VTWEG / SPART], provided a standard text has been created for that Sales Area. Itu2019s not required that every sales area have a standard text, so if one is not found, this step should be skipped and the rest of the print program executed.
    The new text should print after 2 blank lines after the Printable Notes text (which is after the line items and the Total Net Price prints).
    The font should be the same size as the Printable Notes, but bolded rather than italicized.
    The text should print in the same columns as the Printable Notes currently print in (Material Description / Scheduled Ship Date / Quantity) .
    So the logic i have used is this below code:
    I used a subroutine in the layout of the main window becoz i need to print it in the main window below after 2 blank lines of line items.
    This is logic in the layout:

    /:USING &VBDKA-VBELN&
    /:CHANGING &ORDCONF_TEXT&
    /:ENDFORM
    /:INCLUDE &ORDCONF_TEXT& OBJECT TEXT ID ZSD PARAGRAPH A1
    I called this subroutine in the print program:
    Logic in the print program:

    Hi
    Use the function module READ_TEXT for fetching the long text..
    I came across similar situation in my project where i need to fetch the long text for Notification no.I have used the following code for fetching the Notificatin long text,you can just compare this logic and change accordingly.
          CALL FUNCTION 'READ_TEXT'
               EXPORTING
                    CLIENT   = SY-MANDT
                    ID       = 'LTXT'
                    LANGUAGE = WA_STRUCT12-KZMLA
                    NAME     = QMNUM
                    OBJECT   = 'QMEL'
               TABLES
                    LINES    = INT_TAB13.
    Specify LANGUAGE if you wanna fetch the long text regardless of the log on lang.The resulting long text will be stored in the itab INT_TAB13 which can be defined with reference to the structure TLINE.
    Hope this helps.

  • Usage Decision long text

    When you go to QA11, GOTO->UD long TEXt, I need to see the text in SAP table. which table records this UD long text?

    hi
    generaly in SAP all long text will not store, based on program development we can get.
    so you need to use some tables like QAVE for inspection lot number and then
    Table STXH
    then in QA11 You need some data.
    MEnu->EDIT>UD long text then GOTO-->HEader here you need to consider text name, language,Text id and text object.
    these are key areas for development.
    you can work with yuor technical team.

    You have to pass these 4 parameters to the fun module READ_TEXT and to fetch the text.
    Double click on the long text will goes to text editor
    from menu GOTO-> HEADER  you will see the above 4 paramters
    see the doc of READ_TEXT fun module
    READ_TEXT
    READ_TEXT provides a text for the application program in the specified work areas.
    The function module reads the desired text from the text file, the text memory, or the archive. You must fully specify the text using OBJECT, NAME, ID, and LANGUAGE. An internal work area can hold only one text; therefore, generic specifications are not allowed with these options.
    After successful reading, the system places header information and text lines into the work areas specified with HEADER and LINES.
    If a reference text is used, SAPscript automatically processes the reference chain and provides the text lines found in the text at the end of the chain. If an error occurs, the system leaves the function module and triggers the exception REFERENCE_CHECK.
    Function call:
    CALL FUNCTION 'READ_TEXT'

    Export parameters:
    CLIENT
    Specify the client under which the text is stored. If you omit this parameter, the system uses the current client as default.
    Reference field: SY-MANDT
    Default value: SY-MANDT
    OBJECT
    Enter the name of the text object to which the text is allocated. Table TTXOB contains the valid objects.
    Reference field: THEAD-TDOBJECT
    NAME
    Enter the name of the text module. The name may be up to 70 characters long. Its internal structure depends on the text object used.
    Reference field: THEAD-TDNAME
    ID
    Enter the text ID of the text module. Table TTXID contains the valid text IDs, depending on the text object.
    Reference field: THEAD-TDID
    LANGUAGE
    Enter the language key of the text module. The system accepts only languages that are defined in table T002.
    Reference field: THEAD-TDSPRAS
    ARCHIVE_HANDLE
    If you want to read the text from the archive, you must enter a handle here. The system uses it to access the archive. You can create the handle using the function module ACHIVE_OPEN_FOR_READ.
    The value '0' indicates that you do not want to read the text from the archive.
    Reference field: SY-TABIX
    Default value: 0
    Import parameters:
    HEADER
    If the system finds the desired text, it returns the text header in this parameter.
    Structure: THEAD
    Table parameters:
    LINES
    The table contains all text lines that belong to the text read.
    Structure: TLINE
    Exceptions:
    ID
    The text ID specified in the parameter ID does not exist in table TTXID. It must be defined there together with the object of the text module.
    LANGUAGE
    The parameter LANGUAGE contains a language key that does not exist in table T002.
    NAME
    The parameter NAME contains the name of a text module that does not correspond to the SAPscript conventions.
    Possible errors:
    The field contains only blanks.
    The field contains the invalid characters ‘*’ or ‘,’.
    OBJECT
    The parameter OBJECT contains the name of a text object that does not exist in table TTXOB.
    NOT_FOUND
    The system did not find the specified text module.
    REFERENCE_CHECK
    The text module to be read has no text lines of its own but refers to the lines of another text module. This reference chain can include several levels. For the current text, the chain is interrupted, that is, one of the text modules referred to in the chain no longer exists.
    WRONG_ACCESS_ TO_ARCHIVE
    The exception WRONG_ACCESS_TO_ARCHIVE is triggered if an archive is accessed using an incorrect or non-existing archive handle or an incorrect mode (that is, read if the archive is open for writing or vice versa).
