SPLIT VALUATION - EXT/INT PO Indicator- OMWC

Hi,
Could someone help me understanding this?
While Configuring Split Valuation, for a Valuation Type I've set the 'EXT PO' indicator as '0' and associated it to a Valuation Category( No default Valuation Type has been set). After associating the Valuation Category and the Valuation Types to a material, I tried creating a PO for the same. It allowed me to create a PO, with the Valuation Type for which the EXT PO is set as '0'.
What I inferred from the settings is that it should have thorwn an error. Have I inferred correctly or else am missing out somewhere. Also, please help me to understand the significance of 'Acct Category Reference' in 'OMWC' Tcode (P.S: Could appreciate the use of Acct Categ Ref in Automatic Account Determination ie Valuation Class determination. But the Significance of Acct Categ Ref. in Split Valuation Type still remains vague.)
TIA,
Regards,
S. Satish

Hi Prabhu,
Thank You very much for your time.
The Valuation Type is as follows
                   INDI     EXT PO Indicator '0'.
The Valuation type 'INDI', got defaulted from the Inforecord in the PO created. The PO is a standard PO.
Since for 'INDI', the EXT PO is set as '0', ie Not allowed, should I expect an error in this case ( In actual it did not occur. I            suppose it should. Correct me if am wrong).
Acct category Reference is concerned:
Is it that the Acct Category Reference chosen in the Valuation Type configuration, would surpass the Acct Category ref set for the Material Type?
Ie) if the Acct category ref for 'ROH' is say 0001. If I assign this Material Type for a material and still could I assign a Valuation Category associated to say HALB ( I know in real time, its not possible. But would like to understand if the system validates).

S. Satish

  • Split valuation for  material with two different price indicator S and V

    Hello Gurus,
Is it possible to maintain split valuation for same material with two different price indicator S and V.
For Ex. Material A is manufactured can be manufactured in house ,  procured from outside vendor and can be purchased from subcontracting vendor by providing raw material.
We want to keep  Price control V for same material " A"  which is procured from outside vendor.
And price control S for inhouse produced same material " A".
Besically this material is semifinished and having BOM for subcontracting.
    Please advice.

    Hi
When the material is split valuated, you maintain the accounting view for the material 1st with valuation category, here the price control should be V.
When you will extend the material to valuation type "Inhouse mfgd" maintain the price control as S, for valuation type "Procured form outside vendor" maintain it as V.

  • Activating Split Valuation

    Hello SAP Experts,
What is split valuation and whats is the use of split valuation .
Also can we use split valuation at Material Code level. As we have some material codes that has already been created and  which we pocured Localy and import as well.
Also what are the configuration required and once activated how do the system identify that material is local or imported material , while posting any goods movement (101 and others etc.).
Also while creating the new material with split valuation what are the steps to be followed.
    Best Regards,

    Hi gollu,
Please find process for Split valuation
Valuation category is used if you want to have a split valuation i.e. you have an option of differentiating partial stocks of material according to particular criteria & handling them differently regarding valuation within a plant.
Why Required? : 1)Your valuation of in-house & external procurement may be different
    2) Distinguish based on Quality so value
    3)Different batches have different value
Valuation category could be In House/External , Indian / Imported
    Following configuration reqd.
1)In global setting we have to define Valuation category( Say P-Procurement) & Valuation type( Int. / Ext)
    2) Active split valuation in MM
    3) Assign valuation type to category in customizing
    5) In Material Master enter valuation category in accounting view & choose price control V
    6) Extend Material Master view for both valuation type
    7) valuation category to be active /assign for plant
    8) In local definition Define Valuation category to Valuation area.
Then for every transaction (Valuation relevant) may be GR, GI, and Phy. Inventory you must mention valuation type during transaction to get your material valuated separately.
This is all about split valuation configuration.
create a valuation category as orgin H
In our case you can create two valuation class
    1.LOCAL
    2.IMPORT

    Hi There
    1. Activate the Split valuation-( it is in active status Generally)- T Code:OMWO
    2. Create the Valuation category "H"- Country of origin- T Code:OMWC-Click on Global Category
    3. Create the Valuation types ( for Ex: USA, China and Taiwan)-Click on Global Types
    4. Assign the Vlautaion types to Valuation category
    5. And for the plants(where you want to use the split) assign through Local definitions,,T Code:OMWC
And Create the material master and in the accounting view-1 Enter the valuation category"H" and save it with other views details,,
Note: Proce indicator shd be"V (MAP)
Than again in the Creation mode when you process it Enter the Valuation types( Country name- of you have 3 valuation type then enter 3 times with the V types ), and process and save it,,
Now when ever you do GR/GI/Transfer postings.. System will prompt the V Type,,
    Hope it helps

  • The step-by-step procedure of configuring Split-Valuation

    Hi
Can anyone give the step-by-step procedure of configuring Split-Valuation
    cheers
    MaruthiRam

    Hii,
To used split valuation, you have to activate it using 'OMW0'.
To change split material valuation once it has been set, you must
    1.  first post out all stocks (for example, to a cost center or with movement type 562)
    2.  then change the control parameters
    3.  if necessary, change the automatic account determination
    4.  finally post the stocks back in again
In split valuation, you can distinguish between partial stocks of a material according to certain criteria and valuate them separately.
The material stock is divided according to valuation category and valuation type.
The valuation category determines how the partial stocks are divided, that is, according to which criteria.
The valuation type describes the characteristics of the individual stocks.
With the function "Setting" you can determine:
which valuation categories exist in your company (global categories)
which valuation types exist in your company (global types)
which valuation types belong to which valuation category
which valuation categories exist in a valuation area (local categories)
Your entries are only relevant if you set split valuation as active in the function "Global settings".
In the standard SAP R/3 System, the following valuation categories are default settings :
    B procurement type
    with the valuation types:
    "EIGEN" for in-house production
    "FREMD" for external procurement
    H Origin
X automatic valuation (only for batch)
To select split valuation ('OMWC'), proceed as follows:
    1.  Determine the valuation categories and valuation types that are allowed for all valuation areas:
global valuation categories via menu "Goto --> Global Categories"
global valuation types via menu "Goto --> Global Types"
    2.  Allocate the valuation types to the valuation categories.
         a) Select "Goto --> Global Categories".
         b) Position the cursor on a valuation category and select
            "Goto --> Global Categories --> Assignments --> 'Types->Category'".
         c) Activate the valuation types you want.
    3.  Determine the local valuation categories for each valuation area.
         a) Select "Goto --> Local definitions".
         b) Position the cursor on a valuation area and select
             "Goto --> Local Definitions --> Allocate Categoires->Org.units (button Cats->(OU)".
You obtain a list of the global valuation categories.
         c) Activate the categories to be used in this valuation area.
The system creates the local valuation types based on the allocations under point 2.
Only now can you create a master record with split valuation.
Specifying Split Valuation by creating Material Subject to Split Valuation
    1.  Create a material master record, selecting the Accounting View 1.
    2.  Enter your data as required on the Accounting data screen, specifying a valuation category.
(If you can't find the valuation category field, it might be hidden, use OMSR to define the Field Groups.
Look for the field MBEW-BWTTY for Valuation category).
    3.   Be sure that the price control indicator is V for moving average price and enter a moving average price.
    4.   In the case of split valuation, you can create only one valuation header record with price control V because the
individual stock values are cumulated, and this total value is written to the valuation header record.  This is where the
individual stocks of a material are managed cumulatively. To do this, fill in the Valuation category field on the accounting
screen when you create the material master record and leave the Valuation type field blank.
    5.   Save your data and the system creates the valuation header record.
    6.   The initial screen appears.
    7.   Extend the material by creating new material master records from the Accounting view 1. For the first material, specify a
valuation type in the Organizational Levels dialog box and enter the respective accounting data on the data screen.
Proceed likewise for the other materials, distinguishing between them by valuation type.  To do this, call up the material in
creation mode again. Due to the fact that a valuation header record exists, the system requires you to enter a valuation
          type for the valuation category.
    8.   Repeat step seven for every valuation type planned.
You want to valuate the stock of material XYZ that you obtain from manufacturer A in Los Angeles at a different price than the stock you obtain from manufacturer B in Detroit. In this case, the valuation category is H for origin. Your valuation types can be LOS ANGELES and DETROIT.
If a material is subject to split valuation, every quantity (sub-stock) of this material must be assigned to a valuation type (for example, country of origin).
For every valuation type, there are two types of data in the system, as follows:
Valuation data (for example, valuation price, total stock quantity, total stock value), which is defined for every valuation type at valuation-area level and applies to all dependent storage locations.
Stock data, which, like batch data, is managed separately for each storage location. If a material that is subject to split valuation is also subject to management in batches, its stock data is not managed by valuation type, but rather by batch. Every batch is assigned to a valuation type.
The stock quantity, stock value, and valuation price for all valuation types are managed cumulatively at valuation-area level.
Must the Valuation Type Exist Before the First Goods Receipt?
You can post the goods receipt of material of a certain valuation type only if the valuation data for this valuation type already exists, because the system valuates the goods receipt at the price defined in the valuation data. On the other hand, the stock data for the valuation type is created automatically during the first goods receipt into the storage location, if this is defined in Customizing for Inventory Management.
Goods Movements with Materials Subject to Split Valuation
If you want to enter goods movements for materials subject to split valuation, you must enter the valuation type in addition to the material number.
Enter the valuation type in the Batch field for MB01.
In MIGO, there is a valuation type field in Detail data -> Material.

  • Split Valuation Process

    Hello SAP,
Can anyone explain the Split valuation Process step by step, what are the settings has to be done in backend and how can we apply it to the material?
How it will effect the material process?

    Hi Mohan,
The SAP R/3 System allows you to valuate stocks of a material either together or separately, that is, according to different valuation criteria. Split valuation is necessary if, for example:
    1. Stock from in-house production has a different valuation price than externally procured stock.
    2. Stock obtained from one manufacturer is valuated at a different price than stock obtained from another manufacturer.
    3. Different batch stocks of a material have different valuation prices.
    4. Value damaged and repair part differently from a new part.
To used split valuation, you have to activate it using 'OMW0'.
To change split material valuation once it has been set, you must
    1. first post out all stocks (for example, to a cost center or with movement type 562)

    b) Position the cursor on a valuation area and select
    "Goto --> Local Definitions --> Allocate Categoires->Org.units (button Cats->(OU)".
You obtain a list of the global valuation categories.
    c) Activate the categories to be used in this valuation area.
The system creates the local valuation types based on the allocations under point 2.

  • Split valuation: how to close an annual PO

    Dear Experts,
We need to change a non-split valuated material to split valuated mode by using the Valuation category 'X'. I  have done the required config. and cleared all of the stocks and reservations. Now we have one "annual" purchase order left (line per month) that is partly closed and partly open. I flagged all of the items as completely delivered and invoiced but it still comes to the material Display errors log. Do I need to throw all of the items to the carbage bin or even archive the PO before I can change the Valuation category in the material master?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
If the PO is partially open ensure that the PO order qty is changed to Delivered and invoiced qty and then flag the delivery completed and final invoice indicator and then flag the item for deletion.
Now you try to activate the valuation category.
Usually if we have such requiremnt of activating the material for split valution, always you create a new material and falg the old material for deletion. This will be helpful in the reporting parts also.
You donot have to face all these problems in that case.
    Thanks & Regards
    Kishore

  • To extend material master in condition that split valuation.

I want to valuate the material at two different valuation class
if the material is produced internally  and procured externally.
So I use split valuation function.
I created accounting view  using valuation category  at plant level and
I extended accounting view using valuation type.
I tried to extend material master for other plant in condition that
I didnu2019t check batch management in purchasing view
but I mat error message u201CIndividual batch valuation not possible hereu201D(M3184).
To extend material master for other plant, Should I check batch management
    in purchasing view ?

    Hi,
Select the batch management indicator on purchasing view, press F1 button and check technical details. If the field is:
MARA-XCHPF --> batch management is active at client.
MARC-XCHPF --> batch management is active at plant level
Please check SAP online help on batch level:
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/25/2838714f7811d18a150000e816ae6e/frameset.htm
    Batch Levels
    Plant level
The batch number is unique in connection with the plant and material.
The batch number is only known in the plant in which it was created if the stock is transferred to another plant, the batch is unknown in the recipient plant and the system does not adopt any data. You have to recreate and specify the batch in the receiving plant; that is, the same batch number may have different specifications in several plants.
    Material level:
The batch number is unique in all plants in connection with the material.
The same batch number has the same meaning for the material in all plants. One batch number cannot have different specifications in different plants. During stock transfer to another plant, the specification of the batch is known in the destination plant even if the batch is placed into storage in that plant for the first time.
    Client level:
The batch number is unique in the whole client. A batch number can only be assigned once in the client. You cannot assign the same batch number for different materials.
The batch number is only unique at the chosen level.
If your batch maagement is valid at client / material level you defined it once in table MARA and it is valid for all your plants - that's why you get it automatically (if this is the reason in real).

  • Split valuation for material

    Dear all,
I'm facing issue when trying to assign "Valuation category" to Material in Material master Accounting view.
Purpose of doing this is to achieve split valuation. But system is blocking me to do that due to PO created for the material before.
Refer below that steps happen for the scenario:
    1. Material 123 created without split valuation.
    2. Create PO 999 for the material 123, follow by full GR of qty 10 and eventually "delivery completed" marked for the material.
    3. Using MIGO movement 261 to perform GI qty 10 for production usage.
    4. Now Production order has been finished, and wish to bring back the qty 10 to Non-valuated stock.
    5. Goto MM02 change Material 123 to assign "Valuation category" in Accounting view. Error returned by system " Purchase order 999 item 00010 already exist".
For the case, do you know how to get rid of the error in order for me to assign "Valuation category" after PO has been created for the Material?
    Please comment.

    Hi,
Have you activated Split valuation ???? Before using valuation category.
the process you followed is correct. Now the stock is 0.
You need to configure Split Valuation :
1.To use split valuation, you have to activate it using TCode 'OMW0'.
2.To select split valuation ('OMWC'), proceed as follows:
2.1. Determine the valuation categories and valuation types that are allowed for all valuation areas:
    - global valuation categories via menu "Goto --> Global Categories"
    - global valuation types via menu "Goto --> Global Types"
2.2. Allocate the valuation types to the valuation categories.
    a) Select "Goto --> Global Categories".
    b) Position the cursor on a valuation category and select
    "Goto --> Global Categories --> Assignments --> 'Types->Category'".
    c) Activate the valuation types you want.
2.3. Determine the local valuation categories for each valuation area.
    a) Select "Goto --> Local definitions".
    b) Position the cursor on a valuation area and select
    "Goto --> Local Definitions --> Allocate Categoires->Org.units (button Cats->(OU)".
You obtain a list of the global valuation categories.
    c) Activate the categories to be used in this valuation area.
The system creates the local valuation types based on the allocations under point 2.2.
Now you assign the Valuation Category in Material MAster Accouinting View.
Hope this is useful for you.

  • Split valuation conflict

    Folks,
2 questions related to split valuation:
    1) We've valuation level at company code and split valuation active. We have set  valuation type A as a default in tcode OMWC. In the stock determination rule, we've set that valuation type A and B can be assigned to a delivery. Now, the default valuation type A will prevent B from doing GR as the default in the PO is set to A. There is no possibility to make different settings in OMWC for external PO's and internal PO's. How can we arrange that a valuation type different from the default can be processed during GR. How can we handle multiple valuation types in 1 PO automatically (so not splitting the different types into different PO-items)?
    2) When entering a specific batch with a different valuation type then the default A, system gives a hard error. Is it possible to have the valuation type of the batch overrule the default?

Do you have the material master accounting view s created for A and B valuation type?
What is the exact message  and its message number?

  • Split valuation : 'start and stop'

    Friends,
My simple question is when can we start and stop SPLIT VALUATION.
how to stop/deactivate, with which situation of stock / PO etc ?

    HI
    Yes it is possible.
TCode - OMWC.  &  from menu Goto -global catogory-assignements.-
You can deactivate the valuation catagory for Plants...
or with respect to vauation catogory u can deactive the valuation classes.

  • GR for a STO with SD delivery and Batches with split valuation X

    Hello,
We have a problem with the Goods Receipts for Stock Transfer Orders between plants for materials subject to batch split and split valuation with valuation type X.
The scenario is very similar to the one explained on this thread: STO:problem with batch valuated material
When creating the the STO, it automatically sets a valuation type that is not be the appropriate one, we cannot use only one valuation type per position because we can use more than one batch (and valuation type). The outbound delivery has the correct valuation types for each batch and material but when doing the GR at the receiving plant, it only takes into account the valuation type indicated in the STO with no chance to change it.
I have seen the Note 212532 but we are not working with active ingredients.
Does anybody know a useful EP to use?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Javier.

Well, we can change the valuation type before Posting the goods issue of the delivery, but in most cases we need more than one batch (each batch has a different valuation type) for each item (material) in the purchase order.
We can do this at delivery level but the GR only takes into account the valuation type of the purchase order.
    Thanks.

  • Remove Batch Management and Split Valuation Dependencies

    Hi,
I need to remove Batch Management Indicator and Split Valuation for a material. Which one should I do first? Are these dependent on one another?
    Thanks,
    Jograd

You are correct. It did cause lots of error when i tried to do it in test client.
I am trying to remove the valuation category of one right now. It has zero stock and no open documents.
I saw in note Note 155874 - Change valuation category in material master that you need to do this:
    2. If you change from split to joint valuation, no valuation data must
    exist for a valuation type.
I dont know where to start doing that? Because there is not data for the material. However i noticed that there is valuation for previous period. do i need to delete that too? But there are no stocks for the previous period.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Jograd

  • Batch and Split valuation

    Hi Friends,
I need bach anagement for all our raw materials and some materials need split valuation ( imported, domestic) based on orizin. When I assign both, valuation type only selectable . But I want the batch control for FIFO. can anybody suggest, how to maintain both options?
    Regards,

    1. split valuation
    Valuation type
    http://www.sap123.com/showthread.php?t=29
    2.batch
2-a - active batch mgmt in mat master
    2-b- do batch config steps.
    3.  FIFO.
    If Batch Management is active for the materials then use following process;
First create characteristic in CT04 for Batch Creation Date, under "Addnl data", enter Table Name MCH1 or MCHA (As per Batch Class 022 or 023) and Field ERSDA and save it.
Assign this characteristics in CL02 in your Batch Class.
CU70 - Create a Sort Rule and specify the Characteristic of Batch Creation Date and activate "Ascending" indicator.
Now assign the Sort Rule in MBC1 and keep Selection criteria as "O" for the Strategy type.
Now do batch determination in MIGO.
