Split Valuation with two Standard Cost

Hello,
I have one question regarding split valuation where i need to keep both the valuation type as standard price, in that case how to calculate and release cost for valuation type. Logically keeping both is not pheasible. But want your experience how this is beed handled by others.
Thanks

Hi,
If one material has split valuation, standard price will be released only for header segment (valution type blank). You have the possibility to release standard price for in-house production segment, if you set the 'Default'-flag in the customizing transaction for splitted val. (OMWC) for the val. category 'X'.
Please read the note 552486 that contains information about this context.
Alternatively you might create a mixed cost estimate to release prices for each procurement alternative that is associated with a val. type.
The only way to mark and release a standard costing per valuation type is by using the functionality of mixed costing. That means that you have to define a quantity structure category and define a procurement alternative based on a valuation type of your material. Afterwards you have to define a mixing ratio for your material and the defined quantity structure category.
Based on this master data (procurement alternatives and mixing ratios) it is possible to carry out a mixed costing, one part of this mixed costing should be a cost estimate based on your valuation type. If you mark and release the mixed cost estimate the system will set the standard price on valuation type level (prerequisite: you have defined the procurement alternative based on the valuation level).

  • Raw materials on MAP with split valuation used in standard cost estimate

We have a few raw materials which are purchased from different vendors and of different brands. We have opened split valuations for these raw materials. These raw materials are later used in manufacture of different finished goods. We use MAP for raw materials and Std. for finished goods. What configuration and processing steps will be required to run standards cost estimate and what will be standard price for a finished good considering the following example:
    Material X is finished good
Raw Material A with split valuation @ USD 5 (brand aplha)   &   USD  10 (brand beta)
Raw Material B without split valuation @ USD 1
It is expected that we used brand aplha 60% of the time and brand beta 40% of the time and production batch size is usually 100 Kg.
    Please reply

    hi chris
Hope you have configured the material A for split valuation. while calculating standard cost estimate for the material C. through ck11n, the system will pick up the header price from material master.
But here you are saying that you have chances of using the material A, 60% of brand alpha and 40% brand beta
Instead of using split valuation use mixed costing concept. create the material A with separate Ids and create two boms one with alpha and the other with beta.
create procurement alternative in CK91N and mixed ratio with Ck94 and release the mixed cost estimate

  • Valuation Type Wise Standard Cost

    Hi SAP Experts,
I can not update the valuation type wise standard cost. It is going updated only at the Header level in the material master.
We have activated the batch valuatin and also the split valuation for materials.
At the header level in the material master there is a varialble price control and at the lower level we have defiend the valuation type with the standard price control. But when i am running the standard cost system update the cost only at the header level in the material master and not at the lower level.
Can any one help on this issue?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Trushit

Hi thank you for your answer. But if we maintain the valuation type default in split valuation then for all materials valuation types becomes mandatroy field, if we are going to open the batch but there may be the cases where batch is only going to be opend but not the valuation type.

  • Split valuation with batch management and project stock

    Dear Gurus,
I need to combine two following requirements:
    1. split valuation with batch management (valuation type = batch number)
    2. project stock
These two functionalities work fine separately but not together.
I receipt PO for material with spiit valuation on a batch level into a project stock. Posting is OK and material document (MSEG table) seems to be OK (batch number, valuation type and project stock are in this table). The problem appears when I want to display material in this valuation type (MM03) or batch (MSC3n). They don't exist!!!  Short investigation showed that during goods receipt table MBEW (valuated stock) was not updated with this valuation type.
But If PO is receipt into normal stock first and then posted into project stock everything is OK.
Have you had or heart about such issue? I would appreciate any sugestion.
    Thsnks in advance.

    Hi,
As you already know ,u are using project stock and doing goods receipt against project, stock table QBEW will be updated and not MBEW. MBEW only updates in case of plant stock valuation. If u receive any goods against project stock it does not contribute to plant stock. Irrespective whether your material is managed in split valuation or not, If it is received against project stock it only updates QBEW. There is no need to update MBEW, if u r using split valuation in project. QBEW also have valuation type as another level like MBEW. If u want to see material price for project stock, it can be  seen in QBEW -valuation type and not in mm03.
As u r receiving goods against project stock this is d only reason QBEW is updated and not MBEW.
QBEW will store all information like MBEW for batch number, valuation type and project stock assignment.
    Hope it answers your question.
    Deepak.

  • Election problem after repeated split-brains with two nodes

    Hi
    I'm using a customized source based on BDB-5.1.19 (excxx_repquote)
with two site one - MASTER and the other SLAVE...
    nsite=2
    ack=quorum
    - the master is writing to quotedb at a rate of 10 txn per sec
    - the test consist to isolate the client from the master (split brain) and reconnect it after a random time include from 1sec to 10sec
the test run well about 10 times but at a moment the process slave receive DB_EVENT_REP_ELECTION_FAILED

    * In this application, we specify all communication via the command line. In
    * a real application, we would expect that information about the other sites
    * in the system would be maintained in some sort of configuration file. The
    * critical part of this interface is that we assume at startup that we can
    * find out
    *      1) what our Berkeley DB home environment is,
    *      2) what host/port we wish to listen on for connections; and
    *      3) an optional list of other sites we should attempt to connect to.
    * These pieces of information are expressed by the following flags.
    * -h home (required; h stands for home directory)
    * -l host:port (required; l stands for local)
    * -C or -M (optional; start up as client or master)
    * -r host:port (optional; r stands for remote; any number of these may be
    *     specified)
    * -R host:port (optional; R stands for remote peer; only one of these may
    * be specified)
    * -a all|quorum (optional; a stands for ack policy)
    * -b (optional; b stands for bulk)
    * -n nsites (optional; number of sites in replication group; defaults to 0
    *     to try to dynamically compute nsites)
    * -p priority (optional; defaults to 100)
    * -v (optional; v stands for verbose)

  • I need a flash player that does split screen with two "like" videos

I am a newbie on Flash and really need some guidance or a source code to work off of.  I need a flash player that I can have two videos, overlayed with a mask at 50% on each so I see half of one video on the right and half of the other video on the left, thus split screen.
We are trying to show off the same video with a before and after effect or show processed video on one side and non-processed video on the other.
If anyone has a sample or knows how to do this, I would be interested in talking with them.
    Thanks in advance.

Basically the two videos are identical except what was processed on the post
file.  So ideally we would want:
    Video 1 (left side 50%)
    Video 2 (right side 50%)
One controller with play, pause and full screen.

  • Delete split valuation with archiving process

    Hi,
i have nice question about archiving.
i have flagged for deletion my article at valuation level, i have checked if the are
    u2022     Use in routing
u2022     Use in sales and distribution
u2022     Use in bill of material
    u2022     Delivery exists
    u2022     Costing data exists
    u2022     Info record exists
    u2022     Purchase order exists
as written in other answer that i find in the forum.
so after this check i creat my archiving variant and i execute  it (no test) and it gaves me no error!
    it says:
    " MBEW   1  Material Valuation"
"MBEW: 2000 Z2M2-DP-E4 material master record was archived"
But if i goes in MM02 MM03 i can still see and change my article, i only received warning message for deletionflag.
There is any body that can help me?
i can i really check if the article is archived?
    thanks to all...

you wrote an record to an archive, if that was not executed as test run.
But writing an archive is just one step - next step is to run the deletion.
In the deletion step SAP checks whether it can read the archive and if it can then the record from the R3 tables will be deleted.
This step was probably not done yet.
    Execute SARA for MM_MATNR
    Click button DELETION
    Select your archive
    and schedule the job.

  • We need to manage raw materials by vendors(makers).(about Split valuation)

    Hi all.
We just  started a project to install SAP system.
Our client need to valuate their raw materials by vendors(makers).
For example : raw01(3Cm*3Cm steel hot coil) is sold by VendorA, VendorB, and VendorC.
Raw01(from VendorA,  B, and C) are same materials but the price is largely different by vendors(makers),
just as raw01(VendorA)'s price is 1,000/EA,
           ,     raw01(VendorB)'s price is 1,500/EA
         ,and raw01(VendorC)'s price is 2,000/EA
So our clients , expecially finance dept and purchasing dept, want to manage them seperately.
Finally we consider about split valuation(batch valuation with valuation type).
But Our concern is as below:
    1. System Performance : The number of GR is 1,000 / per day.
It means that the batchs(1000EA) will be created everyday.
    2. In case of raw mat, we want split valution.
All material type use Batch : Our material types are raw mat, half finished good, finished good.
They will be managed Batch number.
But we just want to manage split valution in case of raw material.
Now we consider all cases which can be occured.
    Please give us good advice.
    Best.
    Mahnkwi.

    hi chris
Hope you have configured the material A for split valuation. while calculating standard cost estimate for the material C. through ck11n, the system will pick up the header price from material master.
But here you are saying that you have chances of using the material A, 60% of brand alpha and 40% brand beta
Instead of using split valuation use mixed costing concept. create the material A with separate Ids and create two boms one with alpha and the other with beta.
create procurement alternative in CK91N and mixed ratio with Ck94 and release the mixed cost estimate
please go through this thread also
Re: Difference between Split Valuation and Mixed Costing
    Krishna

  • Split valuation Cost estimate

What is the impact when we execute cost estimate using Split valuation materials ?

Std cost estiatme would impact the Split valuation which would have the material with "S" Standard price to update the price when you release std cost estimate.

  • Problem with rounding in standard cost estimate.

    Hi All,
    Happy 4th of July!
I have a problem with the standard cost estimate where the system try to calculate overhead costs (from costing sheet) with a fix percentage (9.7%) to the value coming from material consumption costs element.
Let say I have $1.71 material consumption and the overhead rate of 9.7%
The real calculation should be (1.71*0.097) = $0.16587
But at CK11N screen, it shows only $0.16 (two decimal rounding)
Is there a way that I can bump the rounding to at least 3 decimal point to make it more accurate?
Very appreciate any input you guys can share. Thank you.
    Charitha

    Hi Chari ,
My experience says that you can use only 2 decimals ..
    Moreover , please have a look into SAP Note : 639410 - CK11N, CK13N: Message CK869 due to rounding
    differences.
There a some source code corrections also on rounding differences- check if it helps you also...

  • Can we use two costing variants for standards cost estimate release.

    Hi,
We have 2 plants (plant 5100 and plant 5200) under company code 5000.
We have run standard cost estimate(CK11N) for material 98001000027 at plant 5100 using costing variant ZG01 and at plant 5200 using costing variant ZG02. First, we released  standard cost estimate (CK24) for this materia at plant 5100 and set (in marking allowance) costing variant ZG01 and costing version 01. Next time when we are trying to release the standard cost estimate for the same material for plant 5200, it is automatically picking ZG01 as costing variant in marking allowance and it is not allowing to change the costing variant to ZG02 saying Company code 5000: Release already carried out, cancellation not possible, Message no. CK797.
Is it possible to use two different costing variants for release of standard cost estimate for a material at two different plants at the same company code? If so how?
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Bijay

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply again.
What is the benefit of assigning "Single Valuation Variant same to different Plants" ? In costing variant also we can assign maximum only one valuation variant and this valuation variant will default for all the plants, and hence I dont think it is necessary to assign same valuation variant to different plants.
    My  issue is :
Example: ( Standard Cost Estimate for material 98001000027)
    Plant - 1
    Material Cost                                             Rs.100
    Labour Cost                                               Rs.50
Overheads (10% of Labour Cost)                  Rs.5
(say ,through costing sheet - 1)
    Total Standard Cost Estimate                      Rs.155
    Plant - 2
    Material Cost                                             Rs.150
    Labour Cost                                               Rs.100
Overheads (20% of Labour Cost)                  Rs.20
(say, through costing sheet - 2)
    Total Standard Cost Estimate                      Rs.270
Now, Please explain why we cannot have two Standard Cost Estimates for a material at two different plants? If it is possible to have two standard cost estimates for a material at two different plants, how to take care of  overheads (rate of which varies) at two different plants (plant - 1 > 10% and plant- 2>20%) as we can assign maximum one costing sheet to a valuation variant variant?
How to map the system so as to meet the above requirement?
    Thanks,

  • GR for a STO with SD delivery and Batches with split valuation X

    Hello,
We have a problem with the Goods Receipts for Stock Transfer Orders between plants for materials subject to batch split and split valuation with valuation type X.
The scenario is very similar to the one explained on this thread: STO:problem with batch valuated material
When creating the the STO, it automatically sets a valuation type that is not be the appropriate one, we cannot use only one valuation type per position because we can use more than one batch (and valuation type). The outbound delivery has the correct valuation types for each batch and material but when doing the GR at the receiving plant, it only takes into account the valuation type indicated in the STO with no chance to change it.
I have seen the Note 212532 but we are not working with active ingredients.
Does anybody know a useful EP to use?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Javier.

Well, we can change the valuation type before Posting the goods issue of the delivery, but in most cases we need more than one batch (each batch has a different valuation type) for each item (material) in the purchase order.
We can do this at delivery level but the GR only takes into account the valuation type of the purchase order.
    Thanks.

  • Standard Cost Setup 11i

    Hi all,
Is there any way I could set-up two standard cost types eg. Budgeted Worked Standard and Current Worked standard in Oracle 11i?
    Many thanks

Not sure what you mean but you can setup your own cost types.
You can use the Standard cost type as your current standard.
Then you can setup a Pending cost type as budgeted.
I assume that at some point, you would like to update the current cost with the pending cost.
However, the valuation will be done on the basis of standard cost.
    Hope this helps,

  • Spilt valuation with batch management?

    Gurus,
I want to activate split valuation with batch management..
i know the configuration of doing split valuation..
but, i need help on batch management configuration...

    hi,
Why do you want both at the same time??
Either split val. or batch management independently can solve your issues...
Please let me know the reason...
    For split valuation :
To select split valuation ('OMWC'), proceed as follows:
    1. Determine the valuation categories and valuation types that are allowed for all valuation areas:
global valuation categories via menu "Goto --> Global Categories"
global valuation types via menu "Goto --> Global Types"
    2. Allocate the valuation types to the valuation categories.
    a) Select "Goto --> Global Categories".
    b) Position the cursor on a valuation category and select
    "Goto --> Global Categories --> Assignments --> 'Types->Category'".
    c) Activate the valuation types you want.
    3. Determine the local valuation categories for each valuation area.
    a) Select "Goto --> Local definitions".
    b) Position the cursor on a valuation area and select
    "Goto --> Local Definitions --> Allocate Categoires->Org.units (button Cats->(OU)".
You obtain a list of the global valuation categories.
    c) Activate the categories to be used in this valuation area.
The system creates the local valuation types based on the allocations under point 2.
Only now can you create a master record with split valuation.
Specifying Split Valuation by creating Material Subject to Split Valuation
    1. Create a material master record, selecting the Accounting View 1.
    2. Enter your data as required on the Accounting data screen, specifying a valuation category.
(If you can't find the valuation category field, it might be hidden, use OMSR to define the Field Groups.
Look for the field MBEW-BWTTY for Valuation category).
    3. Be sure that the price control indicator is V for moving average price and enter a moving average price.
    4. In the case of split valuation, you can create only one valuation header record with price control V because the
individual stock values are cumulated, and this total value is written to the valuation header record. This is where the
individual stocks of a material are managed cumulatively. To do this, fill in the Valuation category field on the accounting
screen when you create the material master record and leave the Valuation type field blank.
    5. Save your data and the system creates the valuation header record.
    6. The initial screen appears.
    7. Extend the material by creating new material master records from the Accounting view 1. For the first material, specify a
valuation type in the Organizational Levels dialog box and enter the respective accounting data on the data screen.
Proceed likewise for the other materials, distinguishing between them by valuation type. To do this, call up the material in
creation mode again. Due to the fact that a valuation header record exists, the system requires you to enter a valuation
    type for the valuation category.
    8. Repeat step seven for every valuation type planned.
You want to valuate the stock of material XYZ that you obtain from manufacturer A in Los Angeles at a different price than the stock you obtain from manufacturer B in Detroit. In this case, the valuation category is H for origin. Your valuation types can be LOS ANGELES and DETROIT.
If a material is subject to split valuation, every quantity (sub-stock) of this material must be assigned to a valuation type (for example, country of origin).
For every valuation type, there are two types of data in the system, as follows:
Valuation data (for example, valuation price, total stock quantity, total stock value), which is defined for every valuation type at valuation-area level and applies to all dependent storage locations.
Stock data, which, like batch data, is managed separately for each storage location. If a material that is subject to split valuation is also subject to management in batches, its stock data is not managed by valuation type, but rather by batch. Every batch is assigned to a valuation type.
The stock quantity, stock value, and valuation price for all valuation types are managed cumulatively at valuation-area level
