  • SaveAs and maintain "optimized for web view" via javascript???

    I am trying to do a SaveAs via javascript, but I need to maintain the linearized (optimized for web view) state of the PDF.
    I would get this via the SaveAs menu item, but I need to do it silently and rename the file (replace _H.pdf with .pdf).
    Is there anything that I can read that will help me do this? I have looked through the API reference, AcrobatUsers.com, web search, etc.
    Or, if it cannot be done, stop me now.
    Here is what I am doing currently wtih help from this forum.
    XXX_DoSaveLoRes = app.trustedFunction(function()
    app.beginPriv();
    this.saveAs(this.path.replace(/\_H.pdf$/i,"") + ".pdf");
    app.endPriv();
    Thanks,

    I don't think it can be done.

  • Resize an Object via javascript

    Resize an Object via javascript
    How do I...
    I want to select an object in my document, onscreen, (an image, or text) then run a script that will discern the object selected, and show a dialog box that will allow me to input a sizing percentage for that object (with anchor corner/center)(Press enter and object resizes).

    No they don't.
    Acrobat may be bundled with Creative Suite collections but the APIs has nothing in common other than the use of JavaScript. CS apps use the ExtendScript system, Acrobat has its own internal API and an SDK for inter-application control.
    PDF is an end-destination format - the page content is not designed to be edited, so while there are tools in the user interface to allow touchups and corrections to page objects those features are not available for automation. The JavaScript engine does not have access to the low-level document structure, it can only see markup (comments and form elements) and a limited range of document properties.

    InDesign is not Photoshop is not Illustrator, but they have much in common when accessing their api's that Acrobat does not allow--and Acrobat is part of that Adobe suite.
    Thanks again.

  • DW Split View - Design View

    When working in DW in Split View, when the user clicks into
    the Design View window the view automatically updates the view if
    code view has changed.
    Can i intercept this? Does it call a specific file or menu
    command that i would have access to?
    The reason:
    We use DW as a stand alone HTML editor and some of the files
    we work with are extremely large and each time a change is made in
    code view and tusers click into design view it auto updates the
    deisgn view and this could end up taking some time. i would like to
    manually control this if possible?
    Thanks

    I think it is probably the type of document you are creating,
    for example if
    you go to open a javascript or xml or css document, it goes
    to code and
    grays out the disign and split views. So you might be opening
    the wrong type
    of document.

  • How to view rating stars on pictures in browser or split view

    On an Imac aperture v3.2 I cannot see the rating stars on the pictures in browser or split view.  I can only see them if i open the metadata for each individual picture.  Does anyone know how to turn this feature on?  My husband has a Macbook pro using the same software and he can see them.

    The ratings are part of the Metadata Overlays (link goes to User Manual page with full instructions).  There are seven different Metadata Overlays.  It is helpful to customize each of them.  The customization is done via "View→Metadata Display→Customize".
    The Browser Metadata Overlay is toggle on/off with "u".  "{Shift}+u" will toggle the Browser Metadata Overlay between "Basic View" and "Expanded View".
    What is most likely is simply that either your Browser Metadata display has been toggled off.  Try each of the toggles above, and see if that doesn't bring back the ratings.  If it doesn't, you'll have to add them back to the Metadata View using the customize command above.

  • Is it possible to create a panel with JavaScript?

    Hi friends
    As I´m studying JavaScript and the user interface creation...would like to ask (more for curiosity):
    Is it possible to create a new panel for Illustrator using JavaScript? Or this is only possible using C++?
    (in the Window Class UI we have the "palette" creation method..so wondering the result of it too)
    Thank you a lot
    Gustavo

    Hi Larry
    Thank you a lot for sharing this reference. This has alternative explanations from the JavaScript Tools Guide that already come with the Extended Script Toolkit SDK (I´m reading this and finding very very useful).
    My question, however, is not covered in any of the manuals.
    I´d like to confirm if a panel (like Brushes, Swatches, Appearance and Layer Illustrator panels) can be made only via C++??? (and not via JavaScript).
    Can I assume the Script UI capabilites in JavaScript can resume itself on creating dialog boxes only (not panels that persist, keep opened in the software, also could be docked in the side of app)?
    Thank you
    Gustavo.

  • Flash inserted via Javascript not working in IE.

    I am having issues viewing flash that has been inserted via
    javascript in Internet Explorer. I had to uninstall my flash about
    a week ago. I've since reinstalled flash and reinstalled flash
    player for all my browsers. All flash shows where it hasn't been
    inserted via javascript (ie. youtube.com) but javascript flash is
    not showing at all in IE. Firefox is working fine. Any help in
    resolving this issue for IE would be greatly appreciated.
    Duncan

    I'm having the same exact problem. I've uninstalled,
    reinstalled, the works. Flash works great in my alternate browser,
    Opera, but not with IE.

  • Apply watermark and then apply Flattener Preview via JavaScript

    Hello all,
    I have a bunch of PDF files which were generated from InDesign.
    Currently I am applying a watermark to all the PDFs in Acrobat XI and then a flattener preview to all of the PDFs manually one PDF at a time.
    I want to make a script which does all this.
    I also tried the Action panel, but it didn't automate the flattener preview part.
    I am comfortable with JavaScript and scripting in general.
    Any help or a pointer to resources will be appreciated.
    Thanks and regards.

    Thanks for replying.
    The flattener preview is located under "Print Production" panel. Where one can configure the text flattening options, among many other settings.
    I want to flatten the text (convert it to outlines) via JavaScript as you have suggested.
    Please suggest any sample code.
    Thanks and regards.

  • Is there a split viewing screen feature available for my iPad2?

    Is there a split viewing screen feature available for my iPad2?

    No, only one app can be open on screen at a time - so you can only have split screen if that particular app supports it, you can't havetwo apps visible (though you can switch betweens either via the taskbar or multi-tasking gestures)

  • Split view of table so top rows & bottom rows can be viewed simultaneously

    I sometimes work with large tables (thousands of rows) and need to be able to see what's in the top few rows and bottom rows at the same time. This is easy in Excel; there's a gizmo at the top of the vertical scroll bar that can be used to give a split view. I'm a newcomer to Numbers and have not yet found a way to do this. Any ideas, or is it simply not possible?

    I know this isn't a great solution but if you really really need to see part of the top and part of the bottom of the spreadsheet at the same time, you can hide the rows in between and unhide them when you're done
    Another, maybe better but still not so great way would be to use the filters in the reorganize panel:
    Add a new column. In that column, put a character (a dash, letter, etc) in the rows you want to be visible. In the reorganize panel, make a filter to show only rows that are non-blank in that column. You can quickly switch the filter on and off from here.
    Neither solution is very dynamic (you can't scroll through the bottom half of the spreadsheet while still looking at the top) but it may help if you are messing with only a few rows at a time.
    Lastly, if the top rows you need to see are header rows, you can freeze them. That's similar to the split view in Excel but can only be done for headers (of which 5 is the max).

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Split View Issue

    Hello All,
    I just got the new dreamweaver CS3 and when working in split
    view nothing is refreshing correctly. What I mean is, if I click on
    some text in the design portion of dreamweaver to try and change
    the font, css assignment, or whatever I cannot. I have to click on
    the text, hit refresh (f5) and then the correct information in the
    properties panel shows up. I have the same problem when selecting
    something in the code portion of the split; it does not select the
    portion in the design section. What is the deal? Dreamweaver 8 did
    this fine.
    Anyone else have this problem?
    Alex

    What OS? Does the problem happen with all files and all
    sites, just some,
    or just one?

  • Printing a slide in Captivate 6 HTML5 output via javascript

    I have been googling for the past 3 work days trying to figure this out.
    I had some limited success with printing a div via javascript and pointing it at the slide div (I know it happens to be Slide16952).
    Which is fine, except it doesn't keep the CSS elements of the slide which is what makes it a pretty completion certificate.  Print widgets won't work because I have to publish to HTML5 and not flash (no, no choice in this).  I am struggling to get any javascript working.
    I have this right now which I just picked up as a generic to try and get me going
    function PrintElem(elem)
            Popup($('<div/>').append($(elem).clone()).html());
        function Popup(data)
            var mywindow;
            mywindow = window.open('', 'mydiv','height=1280,width=720,scrollbars=no','');
            mywindow.document.write('<html><head><title>my div</title>');
            mywindow.document.write('<style type="text/css" media="print,screen">.hideMe{display:none;}.NoPrintClass{display:none;}</style>');
            mywindow.document.write('</head><body>');
            mywindow.document.write('drop down selected value in parent: '+mywindow.opener.document.getElementById('testSelect').options[mywindow.opener.document. getElementById('testSelect').selectedIndex].text+'<br/>');
            mywindow.document.write('contentStarts<br/>');
            mywindow.document.write('  using jquery:  '+data);
            mywindow.document.write(' using javascript: '+mywindow.opener.document.getElementById('mydiv').innerHTML);
            mywindow.document.write('<br/>contentEnds');
            mywindow.document.write('<br/>');
            mywindow.document.write('</body></html>');
            mywindow.document.focus();
            mywindow.document.close();
            mywindow.print();
            return true;
    I then point my print button at PrintElem('Slide16952') via a javascript window.
    obviously I haven't written this to fit my particular project yet, but the part I am having the most issue with is trying to get the captivate CSS stuff to come through.  mydiv should = Slide16952 I think.  The CSS form that captivate creates has several block visible elements, but I believe the one I am trying to make sure I get is .cp-shape in CPLibrary.css, but there could be others I want too and I am not sure which.
    has anyone had any luck getting a single slide printed in HTML?  window.print() only gets me like 95% of the slide and a loft of white space around it.

    function printPartofPage() {
        var DocumentContainer = document.getElementById('Slide16952');
        var WindowObject = window.open('', 'PrintWindow', 'width=1280,height=720,top=50,left=50,toolbars=no,scrollbars=yes,status=no,resizable=no') ;
        WindowObject.document.writeln('<!DOCTYPE html>');
        WindowObject.document.writeln('<html><head><title></title>');
        WindowObject.document.writeln('<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="assets/css/CPLibrary.css">');
        WindowObject.document.writeln('</head><body>');
        WindowObject.document.writeln('<body style="background-image:url(dr/CertBorder.png);">');
        WindowObject.document.writeln('<h1 style="text-align:center; top: 30px;">Certificate of Completion</h1>');
        WindowObject.document.writeln(DocumentContainer.innerHTML);
        WindowObject.document.writeln('<img src="dr/17170_271_44.png" style="position:absolute; left: 896px; top: 464px; width: 294px; height: 73px;"></img>');
        WindowObjext.document.writeln('<p style="text-decoration:overline; position:absolute; left: 908px; top: 494px;">Authorized Signature</p>');
        WindowObject.document.writeln('</body></html>');
        WindowObject.document.close();
        WindowObject.focus();
        //WindowObject.print();
        //WindowObject.close();
    latest code update.  Almost everything is working now.  I am going to get rid of the h1 line because I am going to redesign the certificate image and incorporate the Certificate of Completion part in the image file CertBorder.  I may also do that for the image (which is a signature) and the <p></p> portion, so that I am pulling all of that into the image template and aligning it where it needs to be and just grabbing the image.
    I have the WindowObject.print and .close commented out so I can get it all working.  Once I know it works I will uncomment those for final testing.
    This isn't a great solution, but it's the only one I can seem to make work at this point and it will be pretty transparent to the user once it's done.  So far it doesn't set off the pop-up blocker for me, but I am doing this all locally on my hard drive so I suspect that may become an issue once published.
    also, all credit where credit is due (here is where I got my baseline code ideas http://jsfiddle.net/Zmqzb/)

    Thx you were a great due to my big lak of java skills.
    i found the solutions and for those who are interrested here is the code:
    public String isFileOk(final String filepath){
              System.out.println("OPEN file=" + filepath);
              int arrlen = 10000;
              byte[] infile = new byte[arrlen];
                        try {
                   FileInputStream fis = (FileInputStream) AccessController.doPrivileged(
                   new PrivilegedExceptionAction() {

  • [CS3] Calling scriptable PanelTreeView via JavaScript?

    Hello!
    As far as I can see is the PanelTreeView sample already a scriptable plugin, i.e. it can be called from JavaScript.
    Does anybody know how to call the plugin via JavaScript?
    I get an error at following line:
    var PTVRunner = app.PanelTreeView;
    Thanks,
    Alois Blaimer

    You should be able to look at the source code to see what script names it publishes and where it publishes them to - which bosses etc. ExtendScript's data view lets you look at what methods and parameters are available on current items - you can probably look at app to see what names are published there.

  • What happened to Split View?

    I wanted to watch the Macword Keynote today to see what features Steve put out there that we don't currently have.
    One is "Split View" email:
    This allows us to see the email message in the current window with the email list at the top, and the mail message at the bottom.
    I also wanted to put out there that I can confirm there are 2 extra tabs at the top of iTunes that they previewed, the second to last on the right vaguely makes out "ringtones".
    Regardless, at the bottom there is an additional green color category that you cannot make out the text to.
    Back to the question... What happened to split view on email?!?!?

    It's just annoying, he really spent some time on it.
    Hopefully in an update.
