Splitting of Cost into Fixed & Variable

Hi,
In our current scenario there is only one cost and there is no split between them. Now my customer wants the cost to be split between fixed & variable. At present we are using KP26 to plan the cost. Here my cost will hit only one cost element (say A) at present. Requirement is to split this cost into fixed and variable and send to two separate cost elements (say B & C) for the same activity type and afterwards do the setllement accordinlgy.
Can any one please guide me on how to achieve this.
Thanks & Regards
Sreekanth

Hi,
1.This can be achieved by creating two Activity types .eg AT1 for fixed, AT2 for the Variable.
2. Do not assign the default Activity type in the Work center (Costing Tab)
3. When you want to create the activity to capture the cost at fixed and variable level, create a single activity and assign two different activity elements e.g AT1 and AT1.
Now for these two activitiy elements assign the resepctive work center and the activity type as per the need.
4. This will capture the cost as requested by you.
Hope it works for you, Please reward points if found useful.
Thanks!

  • How can I make a Splitting in Cost center accounting by Cost elements?

    Hi experts:
I have defined a splitting structure and I would like to split the cost bettew fixed and variables cost.
To to that I have defined two different assignments and in the selection for each assignment  I have completed the "Field label" with:
In the first assigment I would like to have only the "fixed cost" and I did the next:
    1. Cost element (I have entered a Group) the cost which is in this cost element group is 4.000.0000 euros
2.- Activity type (I have entered a Individual value)
In the second assignment I did the same but with a different Cost element group (the original amount was 6.000.000 euros
The problem is that when I have executed the transaction to do the split, the system split the 50% of the total cost (10.000.000 euros)  to each assignment.
How can I make if I want that the system split the cost based only in the "cost element group" which are defined one of them for the "Fixed cost" and the another one for "Variable cost"??
Are there any method which can split a total Cost for a Cost center based only in the cost amount for a cost element group??
    Thanks a regards!!

Your site's customers will think of it, and they will regard such errors as the mark of a sloppy vendor, not a sloppy webmaster.  And I'm not sure what being from the US has to do with anything.
I want to position the container in the center while having absolute positioning, is that possible?
I have doubts, I've seen a lot of people saying that u can't center a container with aboslute position.
Then you should remove those people from your circle of trust.  Of course it's possible.
Make the container relatively positioned, and centering with an explicit width and auto left/right margins.  The inner absolutely positioned elements will center along with their positioned ancestor.

  • Activity Allocation - Split of costs between variable and fixed costs

    Hi,
The business is very keen on contribution analysis. Therefore all costs (cost elements) are broken up as fixed and variable.
I have a utility cost center (boiler) which incurs both fixed and variable costs. The cost center produces STEAM (created as an activity type). The steam consumption at the process order level cannot be entered. Therefore the production cost centers contain only MHR (machine hour) as their activity. Morover because the business wants to look at costs by production process each production cost center provides a different MHR activity type.
When I compute the activity rate at the boiler cost center for steam, the system correctly breaks up the rate as fixed  and variable. Now, when I try to do an activity allocation (KSCB) from boiler to the production cost centers, the entire costs are being treated as fixed.

    Hi,
check SAPNET note 541858, this describes the system behaviour regarding fix/variable cost when KSCB is executed.
    Best regards, Christian

  • Fixed & Variable cost of the Material at CK11N

    Hello Experts,
Before posting this thread, i have gone through several threads about my query.  Still I have a doubt.
Material Cost always should be Variable.  Cost Component Structure OKTZ also the Inventory Valuation would be Variable Cost as per as Std SAP.
But where as the Raw Material Price control would be "S" & the Cost Component Structure of OKTZ having Inventory Valuation Fixed + Variable Cost then what would be the effect..?
I have run a SCE for a Material & both Material having standard price 140.6 & 1.09. Then how come the Fixed Value shows here as 10.37 & 0.9 & How can it be divided into Total & Fixed Value..?
    Regards
    Raj

    Dear Raj,
Please check the following settings in OKTZ:
    Materials are of 3 types:
    Finished: Valuation (Fixed + Variable)
    Semi Finished:Valuation (Fixed + Variable)
    Raw Materials: Variable
Why Inventory Valuation (Fixed + Variable) for Finished Goods:
It contains material price as well as overheads.
Overheads may contain fixed portion also in addition to variable nature.
So Finished goods valuation should be (Fixed + Variable).
For Raw materials valuation  should always variable:
You can make the settings in OKTZ as mentioned below:
Please check these settings and change the settings accordingly.
    Hope this will helps you.

  • Split the material cost into labor and overhead costs

    Hello Experts,
We get Finished Goods from another plant and that plant is not on SAP. So we load these materials as Finished Goods and enter the price in the costing tab and we do run cost estimates. In the cost estimate we see this price as material cost. How can we split this material cost into material + labor + over head costs? Is there anywhere we can enter the percentages that would split the total price into material and labor and overhead prices? I appreciate your time and response.
    Thanks In Advance

    HI Venkat,
You can only split material cost using origin groups and not into material, labour & OH as you may know the cost components are grouping of cost elements (with an option to use origin groups).
If this is too important for you to maintain that cost component split, then I see the only way is to consider maintaining quantity structure in SAP for the finished product, so that cost roll up happens with cost components.
    Hope this helps.

  • Fixed & variable cost!

    Hi,
Could anyone show me how fixed and variable cost are treated in SAP
In case commercial enterprise, (not implementing Product costing sub-module), how to take care fixed and variable cost ?
If it possible, could you show me the documents relevant my concern!
Thanks very much for any help!

    Thanks Ashok,
Yes, I am clear what you mean now.
But My concern is mixed-cost (semi-fixed or semi-variable), how the system dealt with this?
    For example:
salary of sales man: Cost element 627000
    fixed salary: 500
If he sells more than 20 product a month, he will receive 10 for each addition one.
So 500 is fixed cost, and the bonus is variable.
This CE 627000 is called mixed cost element.
In many cases, the accountant can not know which part is fixed, which one is variable as my example.
So at the end of period, she will use some ways to calculate
And, another problem i care: except drawing statement , what more can SAP do about fixed & variable?
    Thanks very much Ashok!

  • Variable Cost And Fix Cost Planning

What are the settings and are they in Product Costing sub module to be able to clearly see the difference in movement of fixed and variable costs for the activity types in the cost of a product. (Product Cost with quatitiy structure CK11N)
At present, in our settings, even though we have broken the rates as fixed and variable for the actitiy types in cost center planning, there is absolutely no impact in product cost for this. All costs move like variable costs.
    Best Regards.

Check in Cost component structure for cost component for the attributes.
For Activity cost type attribute you must select the control parameter as fixed and variable costs radio button.

  • Oracle rownum usage for splitting a Table into two equal parts.

    Hi All,
I have a table which has like 1.2 billion records and i would have to split the table in two parts for my Archiving needs.Unfortunately that table does not have any unique key or primary key or data stamp which i can rely for.
I would have to use the rownum concept to divide the table.
    I am using the below
    SELECT * FROM (SELECT ENAME, SAL FROM EMP ORDER BY SAL DESC) WHERE ROWNUM < 5000000;
But the problem is that the table is taking forever to retrieve as it has to do a order by and then retrieve the data as per the where clause.
The question i have is that instead of using a orderby clause to get the same rownum for the row every time, can i directly rely on the fact that the database is read only and the Rownum would remain same even without oder by clause....
    Thanks....

    EDIT:
I realized that I screwed up above. In hind sight I don't know what I was thinking. I was attempting to use X = upper(X) to find the upper case characters A-Z. So the two queries to split rows based on the last character of rowid are not right. I don't have time to fix now, but wanted to leave a note of warning.

  • Importing a text file into a variable

I have a text file that I would like to import as a variable in javascript. I would like to do some editing to the text in the script before I place it into the page. I have the script splitting text into an array and the different parts need to go to different places... I have everything working for me except for importing the text from a file into a variable (right now I'm defining the variable from within the script).
    Any help would be appreciated!
    -Shane

In Javascript you could use this:
    var f = File ('/d/books/mytextfile.txt');
    if (f.exists)
    f.open ('r', undefined, undefined);
    var textfile_contents = f.read();
    f.close ();

  • Split Standard Cost during Goods Issue

    Dear Experts,
I have a problem and would like to take your help.
In SD, when we do a good issue to customer i.e. during posting of delivery document, the system credits the inventory and debits the SCOGS. In most of the clients I have worked, the SCOGS always is posted to a singe GL account.
Is it possible to do a SCOGS posting to various GL accounts by splitting the SCOGS into its various components like - Material, Labor, External costs, etc?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Vishal.

    Hi,
OBYC has automatic account assignment (GBB/VAX/VAY) for COGS PGI posting. I don't see a way, you can achieve this in standard SAP. Moreover, how did you plan to determine cost components splits (Mat, Lab etc.,)? from CO-PC?
Is this conceived as a work around to activating CO-PA? Otherwise, I can suggest you to consider activating CO-PA, which does exactly what you expect (margin reporting), provided you have CO-PC active.
If CO-PA is ruled out, then some kind of enhancement should be thought of. Posting cost component break-up to FI-GL may not be a legal requirement and I see this as more of a internal management reporting. So, instead of focussing on posting to GL, focus on creating a report which shows this break up.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to precalculate a Query without using a  fixed variable in I Broad C?

    Hello,
The query should be precalculate with dynamic values of a variable which are investigated during runtime. The broadcaster forces fixed values of a variable.
Does anybody knows, how to avoid the using of a fixed variable in the Information Broadcaster?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
Can you tell me where in the system have you changed this setting. I searched in SPRO but there is nothing about the language. I am also facing similar situation. And if you have worked with PDF files in the broadcaster can you tell me how to change the PDF file names when I run the broadcaster for 6 to 7 variables(I mean VAR1,VAR2,...) The main folder where these PDF files get stored I can define but dont know how to change the PDF file names which fall into this folder.

  • How to write ABAP code to split a sentence into Word by Word and store them

    Hi all,
I have to split a sentence into word by word and store them into separate columns. This sentence is nothing but a text description (TXTMD) from table TXXXX. The description will have 3 or more than 3 words and LAST word will be <b>always with %</b>'. The following is the sample input data:
    KEY(ORD43)       Description(TXTMD)
'AAAA'                '1234  ABCD COMPANY USA  80%'
'BBBB'                '4745  XYZ INC CANADA ABCD  70%'
    For the first record:
'1234' should stored in to <b>Field 1</b>, 'ABCD COMPANY USA' into <b>Field 2</b> and
    '80%' into <b>Filed 3</b>.
    For the second record:
      '4745' should stored in to <b>Field 1</b>, 'XYZ INC CANADA ABCD'  into <b>Field 2</b> and 70%' into <b>Field 3</b>.
The first word into Field 1, the last word with % into Field 3 and all middle words into Field 2. The number of words in the sentence could be 3 or more than 3.
Could you please help in writing the ABAP for this requirement ????
      Thanks in advance.

Easy way if you know the length of the field.
In my example I assumed my field has 12 places.
    DATA: obs TYPE string,
           bkp TYPE char12.
    obs = '12345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890'.
    DO.
       MOVE obs TO bkp.
SHIFT obs BY 12 PLACES LEFT.
write: / bkp.   "Do what you want with bkp variable
       IF obs IS INITIAL.
         EXIT.
       ENDIF.
    ENDDO.

  • Split database file into multi files on different drives.

    Hi,
I Have a large database file .mdf that eating my drive disk space. So i have installed another disk. Now I have 2 drives (other than OS drive) one has the .mdf file and almost full and the new drive which is empty.
I need to know How to split the .mdf into another file located on the new drive and keeping the original .mdf file not growing anymore ?

I know how to split an access file, but never done this with MDF, so if you know what connection string, then you should be able to change this code. However this will ask the user for location of file to be split, it will split in same folder then you can
move the splits to another folder.
This will allow you to choose how many records you want to split by, You can ignore the watchfolder part, or you can use that to automatically copy the split files, then add a delete from orginal source.
Anyway here is the code and I hope it can help with MDF files.
