Splitting of single ALV

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to display purchase order and its related delivery and GR details in the following format.
                                         Purchase order
Delivery
PO Number   other PO details...
Delivery details of the po
                                                                                |
This is the format in which user wants the data to be printed. I have already given the output using RESUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY. Can somebody please guide how to do this splitting. I also check with simple alv list. But user wants it in grid format and I tried splitter control also. But how to use splitter control for a single alv.
Please provide your valuable inputs.

Is it an ALV Hierarchical table that you have in mind? Have you explored the possibility of a hierarchichal ALV which will have a header and can be expanded to include fields which come in the next level.
I mean you can have the PO and Delivery as the topmost level of hierarchy in ALV and the subsequent fields below it.

arrange ur final internal table so that it will look like same line...
like...lets say ur internal table is :

and u can rearrange ur table to be like
A1 B1 C1 D1 123
C2 D2 123
A1 B2 C1 D1 123

what i mean to say is dont pass the fields if they are same in the previous line... try it out..
and then pass it two ur ALV.
it will look like they are in one line

How to make an checkbox editable and uneditable within a single alv output depending on condition.
I have used Reuse_alv_grid_display.
In my output every checkbox is editable. i have used edit = 'X'.
I want editable checkbox for correct value and uneditable checkbox for incorrect value in a single alv

Use alv styles to achieve this, set the style for each record before displaying the ALV. Structure LVC_S_STYL.
Take a look at the example BCALV_EDIT_02, it is OOPS based, but check how the style table is filled.

Splitting the single record into multiple records based on validity

Hi Guru's,
basically i am an BI consultant with less knowledge on ABAP, can i request your help on the ABAP task.
I am working on HR module which is integrated with SAP BI, the reports will be executed based on calendar month the requirement is i should split the single record into a multiple records based on validity of the record. basically the HR data would be in data from and date to.
below is the logic
Check whether the start and end date of the record are in the same month and year.
If yes  nothing changes
If no  create multiple records
1st record  original start date of the record u2018till end of that month
Following record  1st of the next month u2018till last day of the month
u2026
Last record  1st of the month u2018till original end date.
All fields will have the same values, only the datefrom and dateto fields change.
Can any one please provide me the same code to proceed on my task.

How to split a single column row in alv report

Hi Ram,
You can add one more column for that..
while processing your internal table you can split the value for that column using offset..
DATA : FIELD_STR(10) TYPE C.
VAR1 = FIELD_STR+0(5) .
VAR2 = FIELD_STR+5(5) .
Now you can print this both VAR1 and VAR2 in seperate column.
Please search on SCN before posting any question..

for the Layout i assigned LS_LAYOUT-MAX_SIZE = 1023.
but still the problem is not solved.

How do I split a single event with many clips into multiples events, one event per date?

I archived the video from my AVCHD camera into a Final Cut video archive. Later I imported this into iMovie. All the clips from this archive (spanning several months) are dumped into a single event. If I recall, older versions of iMovie would import video into separate events for each day. Then I would go through and give each event a meaningful name (e.g., "Mary's Birthday").
This is what I would like. Is there a way to split this very long event into multiple events, one for each day that is present in the event?

Not automatically but with imovie 10 you can create new events with any name you like then move clips into them from other events (Just like FCP 10.1). See:

You can also choose to display clips in an event grouped by date.

Hi Nallam,
I tried the same thing but in the input file as there are different company codes,It is not splitting the file into three parts and sending only concerned data to repective system instead the whole file is going to the all the systems.
I came to know that the file has to splitted in the mapping only, we are able to do it by using mapping but the problem is in Routing,as in receiver determination we makes use of source structure for giving the condition. Can you please help me on this.

Freely-programmed value help for a single ALV cell

Greetings everyone,
I have a freely-programmed value help that works beautifully when attached to the context element of a single field, but now I'm needing to use it in an ALV for a specific cell. Is there a way to shut off the dropdown for all of the rows (cells) in the column where I don't need it? Or, is there an appropriate workaround that can deliver the same results?
I've found several posts that address similar issues, but nothing for this exact problem.

I take it from reading your description what you want is a little more complicated than just controlling the read-only property on the input field. If I read you properly you still want to have all the cells in a column to be open for input, just on some of them you want to disable the value help. Is that correct? See these screen shots for clarification:

If this is what you want, then buckel up because this was a challenging one. The problem is that the value help specification is not done at the UI element level, but instead at the context attribute level. Therefore it can't be as simple as controlling a property on the inputField itself. What you will need to do is extend the context node that you have bound to the ALV. You need to add a second version of the attribute that is bound to your input field. In this second version you can set the value help specification to Disabled:

Notice from the screen shot that I also added another attirbute called CVAR (type STRING). We will need that later. It will be used to store which cell variant show be used on a particular row.
Now we must go to the place in your code where you fill the context node with data. You will need to copy the data from your primary attribute to your secondary one. In my case I was copying the values from CARRID to CARRID2. Of course for update, you would need to merge the data back together before saving it back to the database. I also set a simple odd/even pattern of controller in the cell variant. I assume you will have some actual business logic that controls this:

Next is the logic in the initialization of the ALV. We will need to create two input fields - each bound to the different context attributes. We will make the one the primary cell editor. The other will become the cell editor of the cell variant. We then tell the column where it can get its cell variant value from:

Split Totals on ALV Grid

Hi all,
When displaying totals in a column of an ALV Grid (objects methodology) my totals are split. For example, if I have 5 rows with values in the column being summed of 100, 20, 300, 40 and 500; I end up with 3 total lines at the end of the list of 120, 300 and 540. The column being summed is a QUAN field (EKPO-MENGE). I have tried the NO_UTSPLIT parameter in the layout, and have tried referencing the UoM in the fieldcatalog for the field being summed with no success. Any ideas?

As amit said, sum of the field is triggered at other fields, you can change in the output of this ALV list,
if have the GUI status as STANDARD or MAIN,
you will get the following in the menu bar, prerequest before,
1. u should have a sum field in the outlist.
2. u should have subtotal.
Now follow the steps in the menu,
1. Go to setting --> Choose Summary level --> Define drildown.
Now u can change the sub total level based on the sort conditions.

Split a single string by several seperator

Hi,
I have a string from where i want to get the values for my parameters by splitting the string by the seperator -i, -u, -p.
string:
-ic:\reports\inc\ -ucuriosity -psecret
I want to have those values to be assigned to the variables for further use, like:
$i = c:\reports\inc\
$u = curiosity
$p = secret
the split MUST has to be done using the delimiter -i, -u, -p

Those are regular expressions. In english, that would translate to "Immediately following either the beginning of the string or a whitespace character, the characters -u followed by one or more non-whitespace characters."
Breaking it down a bit further:
(?<=EXPRESSION): A zero-width positive lookbehind assertion (I know, it's a mouthful). Basically, it says that whatever follows must come at a position where the EXPRESSION was matched (but the EXPRESSION itself is not part of the match.)
Now that I look at what I wrote, that wasn't strictly necessary in this case. This expression would have worked fine: '(?:\s|^)-u(\S+)', or even just '(\s|^)-u(\S+)', except in the second case, you'd need to retrieve the value of $matches[2]
instead of $matches[1]. More on that later.
\s|^ : A compound regular expression that can match either a single whitespace character (\s), or the position at the beginning of the string (^). This was to ensure that we didn't match the characters "-u" if they happened to occur in the middle
of a word somewhere. The | character is regex's version of the "-or" operator.
-u: Matches the literal characters "-u"; no special meaning in regex at this point.
(\S+): Matches one or more non-whitespace characters, and saves them in a capturing group. \S matches any non-whitespace character, and the + symbol is a quantifier that means "one or more". The parentheses around that part of the expression
form a capturing group. In this case, the group is not named, so they're added to the $matches table by number, in order from left to right.
$matches[0] always contains the entire match. $matches[1] will be the value from the first capturing group, and so on.

Tooltip for single ALV cell

is it possible to add a tooltip (text appearing when mouse is moved over) to a single cell in an ALV grid created with FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'?

Tool tips are possible only at Column heading level unless you declare your column as a exception column / ICON / SYMBOL columns.

Splitting a single video into multiple sub-videos

I have CS4 Master Suite on MAC.
I want to take a single video and split it into consecutive chunks and store each chunk as a separate video file (Eventually to put in a database to allow web uses to select which chunk(s) they want to view.
I can do this "by hand" in Premiere but I want to eventually do this in a semi-automated way. (Visually decided where to place the splits, but automate the splitting, naming conventions etc.
Suggestions?
Is there a scripting language interface that could help me do some of this?

I did not make clear, that of course I don't one to do this with ONE video, but with hundreds of hours of video in typically 20-30 second chunks. So perhaps there are good alternate suggestions to do what I want to do?
I want eventually to give the enduser the possibility to run a database query to select one or more of the final chunks/chapters for viewing

Split a single avi into multiple avi files?

Hi there, totally new to PS Elements Premier 10.
I have some VHS video tapes that I converted to AVI format. I'd like to separate the videos into segments (ie; separate Christmas 1982 from Easter 1983) - and store them in multiple AVI files. I tried to do this in MS movie maker, but that was taking forever. I bought Premier Elements because I figured it should be easier; and it probably is, but I'm noob...
I have split the video into the scenes I want. I have added markers... but I am having trouble splitting the actual video into chunks of clips - ie; one big avi file would become 10 smaller avi files. I am trying to watch these on a boxee box, so I do want the to be separate files - I dont want to do a "web dvd" output.
I have tried this:
I dont see export functions.
I go to "SHARE" but it only lets me export to a single output.
How can I do this? It's for Christmas presents, so it's a little urgent - any help you can give me would be soooooo appreciated.

Thanks everyone. I ended up figuring it out - whether or not I did it the best / easiest / fastest way is up for debate
I split the video into clips.
Separated the clips into different timelines.
"left aligned" all the clips in their respective timelines so they all start at 0:00 (just for simplification)
Disable all clips / timelines (right click, enable = false)
Enable the individual clip/timeline that I want to save
Set up the work area bar so that it starts at 0:00 and ends at the end of the specific clip I enabled. With the "snap top" functionality turned on, this is pretty easy.
Go to "SHARE" and configure my outputs
Make sure that "Share Work Area Bar Only" is checked on the "Share" tab before committing
It creates an avi of only the enabled clip, for the timeline I created.
Important:
Make sure you set the work area bar properly, or you'll have a 10 minute clip followed by 2 hours of blackness.... did that a few times ha.
Make sure you click the "Share Work Area Bar Only" on the share tab - or the same will happen.
