SPM:Misc Queries

Hi
Need help with below queries
1) When  a user with only a SPM role logs into the portal, he can see Spend performance management mentioned 3 times. Can we make it just visible one time?
2) Can we restrict language in SPM UI only  to english?
3) Can we edit the description for time zone in SPM i.e e.g. ESTNO -Eastern Time(Indianapolis) to Eastern Time (US)?
4)What is the minimum Internet Explorer version supported by SPM?
Regards

Hi Malathi,
We have that open under an OSS message at the moment. Apparently a "fix" for this is due to be released for this in the coming days SP6 patch 2 I think.
I believe this will state that you're attempting to run in an incompatible language.
I understand the requirement here as the portal supports more languages than SPM, so a user will have to change their entire portal language to use SPM and this will affect any language-dependent master data texts in other portal applications.
You may wish to verify this via OSS?
Kind regards
Neil

  • SPM related queries

    HI,
I have few queries with regard to SPM, please share if you have any info:-
    1. If we are using flatfile mechanism(data extraction) to load data in SPM, is there any program to FTP the file from ECC to SPM(BI). We have extracted the data in ECC side and file is present in AL11.
    2. When we are using direct upload mechanism(data extraction) to load data to SPM, data is succesfully loaded till PSA level. As per my understanding it cannot be loaded to Direct update DSO(Inbound layer) as per the SPM Data Model, is there any standard transformartion to take data from PSA to SPM inbound/Detail layer.
    3. If we are going by direct upload mode, how can we handle DSC.
    4. If we are going by direct upload mode then is there any standard method/Process chain by which we can load data to SPM data targets after handling the data in DSC.
    Thanks in advance.

    Sakshi

    Hi Sakshi
    1. If we are using flatfile mechanism(data extraction) to load data in SPM, is there any program to FTP the file from ECC to SPM(BI). We have extracted the data in ECC side and file is present in AL11.
Ans: If you are within the firewall and the EC and SPM systems are conneted, not sure why you would use flat files approach. But to answer your question, you would ask the network admin to move the flat files, either manually or thru some scheduled script. Donot download files from AL11 as this transaction tends to truncate wide files.
Ans: There is a data mgmt tool in SPM which moves data from the PSA to the inbound layer. This tool does things like currency/unit conversions, system uniqueness concatenations, export and re import of data for data classification and normalization (like the DSE service) etc... And then data gets moved from inbound to the cubes thru process chains.
    3. If we are going by direct upload mode, how can we handle DSC.
Ans. If you take over the data mgmt function, which is your choice, by writing a transformation from PSA to inbound, in that case you would need to figure out how you would import and export for DSE. You could think of using the BW Open Hub...
    4. If we are going by direct upload mode then is there any standard method/Process chain by which we can load data to SPM data targets after handling the data in DSC.
Ans. If you are bypassing the data mgmt tool then you would need to figure out the interconnectivity of data with DSE, as  mentioned in the previous answer, you would then connect those transformations to the standard proess chains - check the table OPMDM_TYPES for the process chains mapped to the respective objets (both master data and transaction data)
    Hope that answers.

    Hi Santosh
Yes, it is critical to get all the Spend related queries in an excutable state before you are able to launch the application.
This seems to be some issue on the BW side, pls have your BW Basis administrator check it out. Maybe your BW server is not properly patched.
I did a quick search on the term "CREATE_PARTITION-01" AND "CL_RSR_RRK0_ATTR_C " in Svc Market Place and foudn these three BW notes: 1489975, 1340340, 1412925. Pls see if they apply. Also feel free to do additional note searches for yourself.
Once the BW issues are resolved the SPM queries shoudl work.
Do write back and confirm what helped fix the problem.

  • Delete standard queries in SPM

    Hi All,
We are on SPM 2.1 SP5. SPM out of the box list the standard queries as the list of datasources on the SPM UI. In my current assignment we dont use any other queries other than Spend Analysis Final and Spend Analysis Detail. We would ideally like to delte all the remaining queries from front end. When I goto Administration --> Analysis Administration --> Application Properties --> Datasources i see delete icon next to each data source. But for some reason there is no action post clicking the delete icon next to standard datasources. Also i could successfully delete "Z" datasources created and added by me.
PS: Datasources above means the Bex queries included in SPM UI as datasources.
    - Help Appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sampat Desai

    Hi Sampat,
I think you need the content creator role for this, create a blank ABAP role ZXSA_CONTENT_CREATOR and assign it to yourself in the back end (SU01). Or you can do it in the UI if you have the relevant auths. That should enable you to delete the out of the box data sources. Be careful with this role, you can delete all standard content. Also, SAP say you should only have this role applied for a specific action that explicitly requires it, not general use, so either create a special user for it, or remove it after completing the aforementioned action.
Also would recommend upgrading to the latest SP. SP6 patch 4 as there are some important fixes that were affecting our system.
Hope this helps, let me know if it works
    Thanks

  • Hierarchies in SPM-Queries

In the SPM Queries there are Hierarchies enabled for certain characteristics.
So far we have not maintained these in the backend. Now in certain SPM reports or dashboards we get errors due to that hierarchies not being available.
Therefore I would like to understand if these hierarchies are kind of mandatory for SPM, or if I can just delete them in the queries if they would never be created anyways?
Furthermore I would like to understand in general how SPM deals with hierarchies. Is there any documentation available on that topic?
    Thanks again in advance,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,
Yes, you are right for certain characteristics in SPM Queries have hierarchies.  And these dimensions are part of certain out of the box reports.  So removing these hierarchies from the query will not fix the out of the box reports, as these reports are expecting the hierarchies to be present.  But when users are creating new reports they will not receive that error anymore.
The only difference the way BW hierarchies are displayed is only one level is displayed in SPM UI at any given time.

    Rohit

  • SPM queries runtime statistics

We are trying to gather SPM statitics mainly around query usage but per the attached it seems the only statistics we are able to find are related to BW queries run and not queries ran through the portal. Can you please confirm the process of gathering SPM statistics by using Adobe Flex?
We have already checked BI statistics settings are set for all 0ASA_MP, 0ASA_DS and ASA_DS* dataproviders and multiproviders. Run time statistics have run our system, but we do not have any statistic available for our queries executed in the SPM UI (0ASA_MP01_Q* queries).
Could you please let us know if possible to have query runtime statistics for SPM queries ran though the portal?.
    Thanks,
    Claudia.

    Hi Claudia,
At the moment we do not collect any SPM reporting statistics or SPM UI statistics.  So the only way to look up statistics is to turn on BI statistics which seems like you have already done.

  • SPM: Using "refresh data sources" in Data Source Administrator

    Hi All,
When making changes to a query, that I want to be reflected in the flex front end, I carry out the following steps:
    1) save the query in query designer
    2) load up the SPM user interface, navigate to Administration -> Data Source Administration
    3) Click on "Refresh All Data Sources"
    4) Wait for the "wait" cursor to finish (only takes a few seconds)
    5)log out of the portal
    6) clear the browsers cache
    7) reload the web page
    8) Repeat Steps 2-7 again
    9) the query's changes are not reflected in the UI
Does anyone know what I should be doing differently so that the query changes are reflected in the Data Source?
    Kind regards,
    Neil

    Hi Neil,
You are almost right on the steps, just a few changes.
    1. Modify your query and save the query changes.
    2. Close the query designer so you are not locking the query (optional step, but recommended).
    3. Go to transaction RSRT and generate the query (optional step, but recommended).
    4. Login to portal and launch SPM user interface, navigate to Administration -> Data Source Administration
    5. Click on "Refresh All Data Sources"
    6. Check the UI logs (Settings > View logs), to confirm that datasource refresh has finished successfully (your should receive messages saying 'Metadata Loaded'.  The cursor will turn into a clock multiple times, this is the UI checking to see if the metadata refresh has finished.  You should see the message 'Metadata Loaded' as many times as there are registered BW queries.  This could take a few minutes depending on the number of queries registered in SPM UI.
You need not clear your browser cache or logout of the application.  At most you may need to relaunch the application.
These steps should be sufficient to reflect any query changes to the SPM UI.

    Rohit

  • SPM data extraction question: invoice data

The documentation on data extraction (Master Data for Spend Performance Management) specifies that Invoice transactions are extracted from the table BSEG (General Ledger) . On the project I'm currently working the SAP ERP team is quite worried to run queries on BSEG as it is massive.
However extract files are called BSIK and BSAK of; which seems to suggest that the invoices are in reality extracted from those accounts payable tables.
Can someone clarify the tables really used, and if it's the BSIK/BSAK tables what fields are mapped?

    Hi Jan,
Few additional mitigation thoughts which may help on the way as same concerns came up during our project .
    1) Sandbox Stress testing
If available u2013 take advantage of an ECC Sandbox environment for extractor prototyping and performance impact analysis. BSEG can be huge (contains all financial movements), so e.g. BI folks typically do not fancy a re-init load for reasons outlined above. Ask basis to copy a full year of all relevant transactional data (normally FI & PO data) onto the sandbox and then run the SPM extractors for a full year extraction to get an idea about extraction system impact.
Even though system sizing and parameters may differ compared to your P-box you still should get a reasonable idea and direction about system impact.
    2) In a second step you may then consider to break down the data extraction (Init/Full mode for your project) into 12 monthly extracts for the full year (this gives you 12 files from which you Init your SPM system with) with significant less system impact  and more control (e.g. can be scheduled over night).
    3) Business Scenario
You may consider to use the Vendor related movements in BSAK/BSIK instead the massive BSEG cluster table as starting tables (and fetch/lookup BSEG details only on a need base) for the extraction process (Index advantages were outlined above already).
Considering this we managed to extract Invoice data with reasonable source system impact.

    Markus

  • E-sourcing / SPM / BW / ECC integration

    Dear Gurus,
I know the question seems to have been asked several times, but none of the different answers could give me a full overview of the technical architecture of the 4 components that could be involved in the full procurement process scope. I hope this is the right forum to ask the question as SPM forum could be another option...So, I would like you to correct me if I am wrong...
Here is the current status of my customer:
    - He has implemented E-Sourcing 9 (on premise)
    - He integrated E-sourcing with its ERP (master data for the contract are replicated to ECC, and material master data is sent from ECC tp E-Sourcing)
    - He has SPM licenses
    - He wants some reporting on the E-Sourcing processes (duration of RFx projects, baselines after first quotations from suppliers, etc). Business requirements are still at a high level, not very deeply detailed
Here is my understanding of what we can do, what we can not do, and what we should do
    - At the moment, there are some reporting features available in E-Sourcing out of the box.
    - Some adhoc queries could be done through E-Sourcing
    - There is no standard way to extract data from E-Sourcing to be able to integrate them into BW (not SPM, but a regular BW without the SPM content activated) directly. The only way is to develop on the J2EE platform the programs to extract flat files, and then load them into BW
    - Even if we install SPM on the BW server and the ECC instance (direct datasource as we are with an on-premise approach), I could not get the data from E-sourcing regarding RFx processes without using a flat file approach.
Based on that, I think we should do the following:
    1) implement SPM to get the full ROI on the license and leverage the full SPEND analysis that SOM can give
    2) implement the direct datasource approach in ECC to feed SPM
    3) develop the flat files approach to extract data from E-Sourcing
Steps 1 and 2 need to be performed together, whereas step 3 could be separated as we could use regular BW technology to upload data in it.
Here are my questions regarding E-Sourcing and SPM:
    - Am I right when I say that the only way to get data out of E-Sourcing for RFx process is through flat files (SPM implemented or not) ?
    - if we decide to implement SPM, do we really still need an J2EE platform, as I thought BI 4.x would be the java runtime platform ?
    - if we really need a java stack, can we reuse the J2EE engine of E-Sourcing, as for now, the regular BW we implemented does not have any Java stack, because we are using BI 4.0 as the reporting platform ?
I know it is a lot of questions....Your advice will be very helpful in leveraging E-Sourcing and SPM prodcuts.
    Thanks
    PY

    Hi Bhakti
The official Forum for Spend Performance Management is here: SAP Spend Performance Management
And hence your post was unnoticed by the SPM community.
I see a lot of activity on this post, so not sure if this question is still open. If it is, I would recommend you to a start fresh post in the SPM forum with your scenario details and I will respond.

  • SPM : Integration with External Data Sources

    Dear Experts,
Can you let me know with your comments or by sharing any link or documentation, as to how to Integrate SPM with External Data Sources.
And how many or what all external Data Sources, can SPM Connect with ?
    Regards
    Pankaj

    Hi Pankaj,
There are no limitations of external data you can bring into BW and visualise in the SPM UI - you can expose custom bex queries as "datasources" in the user interface, and these can show anything you like. Its just a question about what makes sense to show in SPM.
Are you looking to bring in anything specific?
    Thanks

  • Some small queries

I have some little Swing queries :
    1. How do I change the color of a JTextField? I have set the background as black and foreground as green. I have set the caret color as green. But the border remains an awkward white in the face of all black interface
    2. How to set fonts? I am aware of the existence of java.awt.Font but dunno how to use it. I want to use "Courier" font with different sizes. Please post a code if possible. I just want the font part.

    Hi,
I am trying to do a Misc Issue on an Item whose available Qty is Negative. I am getting below error "Transaction Qty should be less then or equal to Available Qty" when i do it.
I am doing the same transaction like mentioned above for another Item whose available qty is negative and i am able to perform Misc Issue.

Ensure that there are no reservations or move order allocations....
if they exists, you will not be able to reduce the inventory below 0.
execute following two queries to verify the existence of reservation/move-order-allocations:
    select * from mtl_reservations where inventory_item_id = ... and organization_id = ...
    select * from mtl_material_transactions_temp where inventory_item_id = ... and organization_id = ... and transaction_status = 2

  • Could I have CASE or IF statement in FMS queries?

Is it possible to have case statements in FMS queries:
    For example:
    SELECT T0.[U_DepoistfeeON] case
when T0.[U_DepoistfeeON] is NOT BLANK  then $[$38.111.160]='Deposit Fee'
when T0.[U_DepoistfeeON] is BLANK  then  then $[$38.111.160]=BLANK
    end FROM OITM T0
What is wrong with above query please? Thank you very much.
I do not mind even if above query is doable with an IF statement in it.

Hi Rahul, this is what I want -
I have a user defined field attached to item master OITM. The field is called : U_DepoistfeeON
The above field contains additional depositFee taxes for selling beer bottles.
I have also created a new tax as part of Freight handling. While on Sales Order screen, the Freight (unhide first through forms field) drop down can have the new tax type selected automatically "Deposit Fee".
Thus, if the line item is of beer type that has U_DepositfeeON, then Freight field should automaticlally pick the type "Deposit Fee".
If U_DepositfeeON is zero then I would like the Freight field on Sales Order screen ($38.111.160) set to blank.
I tried to achieve this through following using case statement.
    select T0.U_DepoistfeeON
    from oitm t0
    case
    when T0.U_DepoistfeeON 0
    then $http://$38.111.160='Deposit Fee'
    when T0.U_DepoistfeeON = 0
    then $http://$38.111.160=''
    else
    $http://$38.111.160=''
    end;
Of course it doesn't work. Note: I know I typed in DepoistfeeON, the error is not due to that.
    Thanks.

  • How to Dene a Data Link Between Queries: Bind Variables

This is an interesting topic and I cannot get it to work using Bind Variables.

  • How to use one WAD template for all the available queries

    Hi,
I have created a WAD template... Now we have close to 25 queries which will use that template for displaying their output at Portal...
Is there any way that i don`t have to create multiple copies of my WAD template...
I.e. all queries would call that same template through portal...

    Hi,
The Bex report uses the Standard Template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN while it is executed.
So if your sure that the look and feel of all the Reports is going to remain same, you don't need to even attach all these Queries to Templates in WAD.
When you execute the BEx query, it would pick up the standard template and run it in portal.
But if you want to customize the Report Template:
    1) You can change this standard template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN  and customize it according to ur requrement in WAD.
    2) Or you can create a copy of this standard template and change it as required. Then change the template in spro (transaction RSCUSTV27) to point to this Z template.
Let me know if you need more details.
