Spooling SRM ouputs

Hi,
Currently, our SRM system prints PO outputs straight to a printer (if to be hand-posted to the vendor). There is now a requirement to find out whether the following is feasible:
a) Can we have a Multi Function Device set up as a SAP Printer?
b) Can we control when PO Outputs are sent to the MFD? i.e.
    1. Can the POu2019s be held in a queue and then sent to the printer at a certain time, or
    2. Can the POu2019s be held in a queue which then requires a user to send the outputs to the printer as and when required, or
    3. If the above options are not available is it possible to ensure that a security code is required to be entered before the PO are printed.

In config SRM SERVER. Cross application basic settings>Set Output Actions and Output Format>Define Actions for Document Output
For BBP_PD_PO
You could use Issue Purchase order. Stop the default output .

Execute .sql file using JDBC

I have a .sql file which contains a SELECT query and spools the ouput into a .txt file.
The problem is, I have some formatting queries like SET LINESIZE 500 etc.
How do I execute the .SQL file

Nothing you do will make SQLPLUS command statements work via JDBC.
There are only two options.
1. Create a PL/SQL which does the same thing.
2. Use SQLPLUS and do not use jdbc.

Printing Purchase Orders in SRM (spool issues, etc.)

Hi SRM Gurus,
Could anyone tell me exactly how the printing of PO's works in SRM? What is the step by step description from PO approval to getting the prinout?
From my understanding, as long as you've configured everything stated from SAP Note 564826 (assign printer LOCL to pgrp, schdule background job RSPPFPROCESS, etc) when you go to transaction "Issue Purchase Orders" and click on the print button...the output will be processed by the background job that we scheduled.
The problem is that, in the spool request, there are two (2) spool numbers created which I don't understand. One is described as OTF_SPOOL and has the title COMP LOCL SAPMSSY1. This always has the status "Completed" and highlighted as green.
The other is an unprocessed spool request described as SCRIPT LOCL SAPMSSY1 I dont know what the difference of these two are, but either way...there was no actual printout.
Is there something I need to know about the background job? It seems the answer is there...

Access method U (berkeley protocol) would require a printer server which we do not want.
We defined a new device, LOCM that has the procedure M (email to receiver/owner). Ideally, this would send an email with a PDF copy of the purchase order. However, in the spool request the receiver is ALWAYS defined as WF-BATCH. Even if the PO creator is a different user ID, the receiver would be user WF-BATCH still.
Does anyone have an idea how to remove the receiver part in the spool request attributes? Or simply replace that with the owner of the spool?

Converting spool ouput into ms word format

Unfortunately SAP only provide ASCII and PDF conversion from OTF. (look CONVERT_OTF)
You may check the function module
CALL FUNCTION 'RSPO_DOWNLOAD_SPOOLJOB'
     EXPORTING
          id    = id " spool id
          fname = fname " filename with .doc
But some formatting will be loss.

Triggering SRM PO output to windows spool

Hi,
I have a customer requirement to output the SRM PO to the user windows default printer.
Customer do not want to configure printers through SPAD transaction...
Customer do not want to display PO in PDF and then to print it to windows printer.
Customer wants to select one or several PO (i already have a bespoke transaction for this) and then send them to the user windows default printer.
Did anybody already implement this behaviour ?

I am trying to send smartform to printer directly ,its opening Print dialog but i dont see any front end printers when i pass Output device as LOCL .
Could you tell me what parameters you have passed thru control parameters and output options .

SAPScript ouput + Smartform Output in ONE SPOOL

Hey folks,
I have a single print program and I am using it for 1 SAPScript Layout and 1 Smartform Layout.
Everything works great,except that the outputs get created in 2 separate spools after execution.
Is there any way I can trigger both of them into a single spool?
The SAPScript needs to be get printed first and then the Smartform.
Help would be greatly appreciated!

you have to check the outputparameters of the smartform and the sapscript.
You have several options for it. I do not know them all by head.
for smartform you have ssfcompop-tdnewid. if this one is X you create a new spool it it is space it uses an open one.
ssfcompop-tdfinal is to close a spool.

Spool ouput in UTF8 with BOM encoding

I've a requirement to get data from Oracle tables in a flat file.I'm using sqlplus script for the same.But those flat files must be in UTF8 With BOM(Byte Order Mark) format .Can anyone tell me how to spool data to a flat file of UTF8 format by running a sqlplus script in windows environment.Do I need to use convert function for every column in sqlplus script?Im usisng Oracle DB 11g

We could if you were asking how to do this in SQL Developer, e.g. use the Tools > Database Export wizard, but this is not the SQL*Plus or SQL forum.

Not generating a spool output in the background job

Hi Team,
I have an alv report and If I schedule the program using SM36 transaction it is not generating the spool ouput.
If I run the same program in background mode when we use se38 and select execute in background in program menu and it works successfully and generates alv grid list in the spool output.
But, user wants to schedule the job in sm36 and check the same output in spool. Please advise why it is not generating.
Note:I am using the cl_salv_table=>factory method to generate the output.

This is not really an ABAP question and you might want to ask your Basis admin for assistance. But I believe that spool will not be generated if you don't specify print parameters for a step. When you define the step in SM36, make sure to specify the print parameters.

Schedule Job and Read Spool

Hi Guru's,
my requirement is
1.I need to run one standard program 3 times with 3 diffrent selection's.
2.the resultant 3 diffrent ouput will be displayed in only ONE output.
( the prgram should have the capalibilty to ceate 3 diffrent jobs simulatenously I.e submitting the job in background once submit dont wait for the result sicne this should be stored in spool and then submit the secound and thrid)
after scheduling this 3 prgram program need to wait until all this 3 jobs beein scheduled which were running in paralled to complete. then read ther respective spool and output one result .

There u can pass the following parameters
IMPORT
REPNAME = "Name of the Report"
LANGUAGE = 'Language in which job should run"
SDLSTRTDT = "Start date"
SDLSTRTTM = "Start time"
STRTIMMED = 'X' = Immediate start
TABLES
SELTAB = "to fill selection screen"
use this FM 3 times with different selections

Archiving of spool requests (ERS documents) Apprentice Project HELP needed..

I'm an apprentice from Germany and I have to do a project for my final exams. I could desparetly Need some help on getting started.
In our SRM, we have a program for the Generation of ERS documents (credit note?).
Firstly, the Programm BBPERS creates ERS Idocs on Basis of stock-receipt (?). Secondly, the program RSPPFPROCESS sends the ERS invoice to the supplier via mail.
The document is saved only as an email.
We do have a Z-Programm, ZZBBPERS, that is used for subsequent creation of ERS documents as PDFs. These are saved in the Spool, but for each invoice a different spool number is created.
Now my Task is to find a way to Archive these ERS documents into an external Archive. We use d.3 as Archive, I don't know if you have heard of it. But that shouldn't matter right now.
So the question is, how can this be achieved? I don't really know anything about archiving in SAP. And this is a very Special case. Where do I have to start? Do I Need to write a program, or can I use some of SAPs Standard possiblities? What programs are there for archiving spools? Can they be defined as only archiving Spools from program X? Where do I define archiving procedures?
I hope some of you can get me started. I don't Need a perfect solution right off the bat, just a place to start and ideas how to Approach this Project.

So the Business object should be the BUS2207, right? This is our Business object for ERS. We don't have BUS2081, what is that?
edit: Wait, what is the difference between Business Object and Archiving Object? We do not have an archiving object vor ERS.
To clarify: We do not book in SRM, we are sending it per Idoc to another SAP System where the booking takes place.
We are just creating the PDF out of the BUS2207 and sending it to the vendor via RSPPFPROCESS and Action "BBP_ERS".
Can you tell me where I can see detailed Information for the Archive Connection? I have the entry in OAC0 with IP address and all. But we have no records of ever archiving in this System so how can I see Connection details and test it?
I also have to analyze if ArchiveLink is already set up and working..
Also, where do I define how the files are saved in the storage System? With this I mean like in which Content repositories / Folders and so on they are saved.
What Information are given to the PDF? All document informations, like Dates invoice number and so on? How can I use them for my Archive structure?

Spool History Status is complete for Incorrect email or Fax

Hi All,
We have configured mail and fax for a Ouput type. The spool history for this Output shows "completed" even if we give a Wrong email id or Fax number.
Can anyone suggest,where can we check this?-----
Checked in the Output Device configuration..
"Do not Query host spooler for output status" is not checked. If this is the problem..
Then why am i not able to replicate the issue,when the same setting is available in Assurance.
But the issue could nt be replicated. Kindly enlighten..

Welcome to the forum.

SRM 4.0: distributing contracts to legacy backend

Hello!
I am programmer fairly new to SRM. At the moment I am trying to figure out how to distribute purchasing contracts from SRM to legacy via XI. There is apparently no XML ouput option in 4.0.
By reading docu I have found one possible way I think, and I just wanted to run it by you to see if it is doable at all.
I was thinking I can use the build in functionality to create the contract in a R/3 backend system. Using the BADI BBP_CTR_BE_CREATE, which actually just creates an IDoc (or?) and the BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS I could just route it to XI instead of R/3.
Do you experts see any reason why this would not work?

Hi Nam,
to replicate CTR from standlone SRM, you should use the BADI DOC SAVE to trigger the replication process.
In this BADI you can use contract transfer function (BBP_PD_CTR_TRANSFER), but you will get blocked by standard design:
- SRM local contracts are transfered to CCM via XI if the corresponding flag is set in contract header
- SRM global contracts are transfered to R/3 via IDOC (in fact an RFC call out of SRM, creating IDOCs directly in R/3: no outbound IDOCs in SRM) if they are global (normal...)
So you should develop your own transfer function, re-using parts of BBP_PD_CTR_TRANSFER (especially META_CTR_TRANSFER that could be a good starting point to pass data to XI via an RFC call).

if i go and on my desktop it is saying the below error "ADOBE READER COUDNT OPEN 'test.pdf'
because it is either not supported file type or because the file has been damaged.
my aim is to get the data which is there in IT_final in the PDF .....please correct me the parameters which i have given wrong. my doubt is in GUI_download fM in the tables should i pass it_final or
the pdf_table coming from'CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF'...... i tried this option iam able to open and it is just giving message which i kept before this FM i.e WRITE : 'hi this is the test for spool'.
what i should to get my internal table data.

Please tell me how i can get the all the fields which are there in my normal alv output ......
Case 1) .i wanted all the 10 fields in PDF to be displayed without truncated , I have checked in Spool ........ i found all the fields are there .....but however when i check the downloaed PDF i can see some fields are getting truncated.
Case 2) However if on the ALV output if the user hides 2 fields out of 10 fields then only 8 feilds which are appearing on the output before sending the Spool should only be displayed in PDF as well -

Back Ground Jobs in SRM

Dear SRMer's,
System Info SRM 5.0
I have scheduled BBP_GET_STATUS_2 and CLEAN_REQREQ_UP to run every 1 minute.Both jobs are in released status
Now I have a requirement to change to frequency to every 5 minutes as I am getting Internal spool errors. When I select the job to change the frequency, I get the message: 'Job not modifiable' in the status bar.
Please let me know the procedure for modifying a released job.

Can you cancell both the Jobs when they are in Release status
And then Reschudle new jobs with a new frequency....
Schedue BBP_GET_STATUS_2 first and subsequently Schedue CLEAN_REQREQ_UP .
