"Spotify desktop client communication failed."

Thanks predatorx, such solution was suggested also elsewhere in this community help, but I was not looking for such remedy - probably it would work :)
Somewhere I read the FB connect has had a bug in it, related to JS and certain ports. It just might be the case here too when I was trying to use the more protected work network. I have no issues using the FB connect with other networks.
Anyhow, happy listenings to everyone and thanks for your help!

Um, here is one screen shot, from another annoyed user. Previously this FB connectivity worked fine (last week) but not today.
OS is Win7.
The address line says (with some characters removed just in case):

  • Lync 2013 Hosting Pack - cannot join external non federated meetings anonymously with desktop client

    Hello,
I Have a setup of LHP 2013. We have been testing federation and connections to external on-premises meetings.
Right now users with lync desktop client (2013 and patched) cannot connect to external 3rd party meetings without using the ?SL=1 and using the Wep App.
Desktop Client gives error on log file:

From some old post I have read that was a bug in Lync client that did not allow fail-back to anonymous login with non-federated lync organization, but this has been fixed long ago.
If I do setup a federation beetween the organizations the meetings connect ok.
    Thanks for help!
    BR, Jouni

    Hi Johan,
Lync client in test has been fully updated.
I Think I found what was causing this. In my tests, I added and removed domains from allowed and blocked domains list, in tenant config.
First after tenant organization has been provisioned the AllowedDomains looks like this:
    Get-CsTenantFederationConfiguration -Tenant 10828ff2-165d-440f-9c00-6ce374ff0c6d
    Identity              : Global
    AllowedDomains        : Microsoft.Rtc.Management.WritableConfig.Settings.Edge.AllowAllKnownDomains
    BlockedDomains        : {}
    AllowFederatedUsers   : True
    AllowPublicUsers      : True
    SharedSipAddressSpace : False
And joining to non-federated meetings works correctly.
After fiddling with the allowed and blocked domains settings (adding and removing domains) settings look like this:
    Identity              : Global
    AllowedDomains        : Microsoft.Rtc.Management.WritableConfig.Settings.Edge.AllowList
    BlockedDomains        : {}
    AllowFederatedUsers   : True
    AllowPublicUsers      : True
    SharedSipAddressSpace : False
When I check what the "AllowList" keeps in, it is empty as it should:
    $tenant = Get-CsTenant | Where-Object {$_.Name -eq "tenantname"}
    $x = Get-CsTenantFederationConfiguration -Tenant $tenant.TenantId
    $x.AllowedDomains
    AllowedDomain : {}
If I set the AllowedDomain backup to original form meeting connections begin to work.
    $all = New-CsEdgeAllowAllKnownDomains
    Set-CsTenantFederationConfiguration -Tenant 10828ff2-165d-440f-9c00-6ce374ff0c6d -AllowedDomains $all
But now im just not very sure how I should setup the federation settings as per tenant/ExternalAccesspolicy/AccessEdgeConfiguration.. hmm..

  • RD Gateway issue from Mac Remote Desktop client - 503 RPC Error: c0021012

I have an employee who is able to use the Mac Remote Desktop client to connect to her office PC via RD Gateway, but after a short time she consistently has her connection dropped with a
503 RPC Error: c0021012.  I've researched this a little and apparently it refers to an expected shutdown condition (RPC_P_CONNECTION_SHUTDOWN) rather than a true RPC "exception".  Also, the error almost always occurs exactly
10 minutes after the connection is established, so I'm wondering if a timeout is occurring due to a heartbeat/keepalive not getting through, the expiration of a token or credential, or something similar(?).  Any help would be appreciated, here's a section
from the log that shows one of her drops:

    Hi,
Is there any error occur on the RD Gateway server? Please make sure that RPC, RPC Locator and RPC Endpoint Mapper service are running on the server. Also, please make sure that the RD gateway
server does not reach the maximum number of connections.
    Thanks.

  • EWS not deployed anymore to Lync 2013 Desktop Clients, Mobile Clients still working fine

    Hello dear community,
the subject of EWS in conjunction with Lync 2013 has been discussed a lot here .
However, I could not find here any solution for my problem and I'm (almost) at my end.
Following scenario - 1 x Lync 2013 BE server, 1 x Lync 2013 Edge server, 1 x reverse proxy (IIS ARR). This Lync 2013 deployment
was installed about two months ago and integrated into existing IT landscape. Everything worked wonderfully - desktop and mobile clients were able to connect from inside and outside our organization, EMS was deployed to both desktop and mobile clients.
After that there are no any configuration changes made on Lync server, and yesterday, shortly before an important presentation
I've found, that EWS is not deployed anymore on all desktop clients. Mobile clients, however, continue to function smoothly.
I have tried the following: restart Lync and reverse proxy servers - without success, Lync Connectivity Analyzer shows all
green (internal and external), all relevant tests with Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer were passed, also analysis using Wireshark brought nothing.
I must to say that a week ago I installed SP3 for Exchange 2010 - can it may be because? Also appears more
times a day the following error message in Event Viewer on the back-end server (language of operation system is German):

    Hi MiF,
The issue may cause by the Network Service account that the Lync Storage Service uses does not have access to the private key in used by the oAuth certificate. Please do with the following steps:
Open MMC and add the “Certificates” Snap-in (Local Computer)
Open Personal | Certificates and find the the Certificate being used for OAuth (use the Lync “Get-CsCertificate -Type OAuthTokenIssuer” cmdlet to find the serial number of the OAuth certificate).
Right-click | “All Tasks” | “Manage Private Keys”
Add Permissions for “Network Service” account (the defaults Full control and Read).
Please also check registry key on client computer.
If the HKCU\Software\Microsoft\ Office\15.0\Lync \[User SMTP Address]\Autodiscovery registry key does not exist on the user’s workstation, then it likely means that one of the following failures
    have occurred:
Lync was unable to locate a valid DNS A record or SRV record for the Autodiscover site
Certificate assigned to Autodiscover site is not trusted by the Lync workstation

  • The Group Policy Client service failed the sign-in The universal unique identifier (UUID) type is not supported

    Hi guys,
we created a custom WIM Image (Windows 8 Enterprise) with MDT 2012.
Sysprept the Image, Deployed via SCCM 2012 SP1.
Computers are Domainjoined. Error with standard Domain User.
On some computers (not every computer) and not with every user on the first logon following error message arises:
The Group Policy Client service failed the sign-in The universal unique identifier (UUID) type is not supported
It works, when you log in a second time but this error isn't very nice.
Is there a solution for that?
    Kind Regards
    Martin

    Hi,
The service is responsible for applying settings configured by administrators for the computer and users through the Group Policy component. This issue can be caused by various reasons based on the computer environment.
Can you find any information in event log about this issue?
Here is the related blog in which the steps can solve most of such issues if the issue continuously happen.

  • IOS Remote Desktop Client Logon Issue Prompts to Logon 3 Times with RDGW

I have an issue when connecting from the Remote Desktop client iOS on multiple iPads/users.
First a little background: We have an RDS Web Access / RDS Gateway (2012 R2) setup and properly configured. We can logon using it just fine from the Mac OS version of the app, Android version of the app, or from a Windows PC. When we try to
connect via the iOS app we get the prompt to logon 3 times. Due to security reasons, we do not want them to store their credentials on the iPads, which is the only method I have found to eliminate the triple password entry. It only prompts once on the Mac
OS version, Android version or from a Windows PC.
The password isn't being entered incorrectly and the servers are not registering any Audit Failures for the logon attempts. Can you assist?
Additionally I would like to recommend the addition of a feature to be able to setup remote resources but prompt for the password on app launch for security reasons. That way they would have to enter it once but then they could access any resources needed.
    Thanks,
    Nate L

Then in the second attempt I see it trying to go to http://ExternalRDSGatewayHostName:443/remoteDesktopGateway/ which again it shouldn't be doing because that URL (the remoteDesktopGateway) is not part of the RDSGW or RDSWA 2012 R2 IIS
config or am I missing something? It should be going to Rpc or RDWeb right? or do I need to allow that path through too?
    Thanks,
    Nate

  • What is new in Remote Desktop Client Update 3.8.2 v1.1?

What is new in Remote Desktop Client Update 3.8.2 v1.1? Also, how can we tell if clients are on 3.8.2 v1.1 and not 3.8.2 from ARD? Apple isn't providing us with detailed information so I am reaching out to the community.
    THanks,
    Andrew

Yeah, it tells you nothing which is why I posted. Here is what they link you to: About Remote Desktop Admin 3.8 - Apple Support

  • Remote desktop client software not active

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I'm a bit bewildered by this errormessage (and I couldn't get a hit when I searched for it) when I try to drag a file from the xserv to the macbook pro desktop, remote desktop client software not active.
The macbook has the ard server and connects to the xserv ppc. It connects over the internet.
The xserv is behind a iptables fw and I have forwarded 3283 tcp/udp plus 5900 udp/tcp to the server. Have I forgotten a port ?
    I've read through http://www.starkpr.com/ard.htm as well as http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20070302234400232&query=vnc%2Bsimpl e%2Bset%2Bup
and tried to find out more from the discsussions here.
The macbook pro sits behind an airport which is hooked into the dsl modem. Do I need to configure port forward in the airport as well.
Connecting to the xserv and working on it works great but the copy file transfer fails.

Hi there I took new try at this and this is what finally solved it for me.
The earlier answer I got was very good advise but I had already done that bit, actually I might have overdone it a bit I had checked all the boxes under the useraccount on sharing.
    Back to business.
Firewalling. I realised I need to open and portforward at both locations and remeber it's booth tcp and udp.
So at the xserve location I needed to forward 3283 and 5900 both tcp and udp from outside to the IPnumber of the xserve.
At home with my macbook I needed to do the same.
However this did not solve it, I had forgotten one software on the macbook. On the xserve I had installed ARD upgraded it to 3.1 AND installed the upgrade for ARD 3.1 client. The client part I had forgotten at home. So once my ARD and ARD client software matched I could connect to the xserve and drag and drop files booth ways.
ARD wasn't running on the xserve I just had it installed along with the client software.
So portforwarding in firewalls and the same software and versions in all locations seems to have solved it for me.
A small note enabling/disabling the firewall in macbookpro did nothing for me since when enabled ARD rules were in place and active so it still worked.
I hope I made some sense.

  • Remote desktop administrator software failed to start

I just upgraded to the new ARD client and now I cannot start Remote Desktop Administrator. It says "The Remote Desktop Administrator software failed to start due to an unexpected error. The remote desktop software may not be installed correctly or the computer may require a restart."
Again, this happened after I install the ARD client update just released by Apple on my MBP 10.5.8.
I need to get ARD Administrator back up and running. How?

This is the most feedback I've ever gotten to any post.
After much trial and error here is the solution I came up with:
    1. follow the instructions in the following link. Most importantly, make sure you follow the instructions on removing the 10.2 clients. I know that's not what we're dealing with here but it is necessary:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2577?viewlocale=en_US
    2. Put the remote desktop Admin app in the trash and empty the trash.
    3. Download and install the ARD 3.2.2 client via the following link:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/appleremotedeskt op322client.html
    4. Reinstall the remote desktop administrative software in the Applications directory. (Actually, what I did was zip the ARD admin app, then trashed the non-zipped app and emptied the trash, then unzipped my zipped ARD Admin app and made sure the app was in the Applications directory. Didn't need to mess with the CD this way.)
    5. Download and install the ARD Admin 3.3 update. It should now recognize that ARD Admin is installed on the computer and update it.
    6. Try to launch the Admin app. It should work now.
I believe these are all the steps. After this I ran software update and it said I had no software to update. It looks as though the ARD Admin updater also updates the client software.

  • Error Message when logging on "The Group Policy Client service failed the logon. Access is denied"

Since the move to Windows 7 we have started getting this error above when people login at random times and on random machines, at first we thought it was only a select few users, but now it seems to have occurred to about 20 different Staff members working
at the school. Also of those 20 odd users it has happened to them on a few occasions.
    What we know
We know this problem is only occurring to staff with Roaming Profiles, it seems like somehow the profile is not Synchronizing with the Servers File Share that houses the profiles, which causes the NTUSER.DAT file to become corrupt and go from being around
2 – 3 MBs to 256KB (In all cases where a user has had this issue there NTUSER.DAT file has been 256KB)
    Current Resolution to the problem
When a staff member contact us with this problem, we fortunately have Previous Versions working on the profiles folder on the server, so we are able to restore their NTUSER.DAT file from 1 to 2 days before it became corrupt, which then seems to allow them
    to log on fine
What we have tried so far & suggested so far
After some research on Google, we found the following thread on EduGeek
    http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-7/78733-windows-7-user-profile-failed-error-again.html#post700415
Which suggested that the problem may lay within registry, so we implemented the Script that was posted on the website, however this has not seemed to make any difference
In the early stages when only 5 – 10 staff seemed to be having the problem, we believed the issue could be with just certain AD accounts. It had not seemed to happen to any recently created AD accounts so we thought it could be a corrupt attribute on
the user so we delete one of the staff AD accounts that had the problem and creating a brand new one, however within about 2 – 3 weeks that staff member had the issue occur again
Leading on from point two, we also thought the problem could be with people using multiple computers, logging on in 2 places and not logging off properly, but unfortunately the staff member referred to in point 2 only uses the one computer in reception.
Another potential cause that we figured might be the route of the problem, was it could be specific computers that are not communicating properly with the server, which could be causing this problem to occur, but we have no real way of testing this,
as the staff generally log onto 3 – 4 different computers throughout the day and in different location
We log a call with EE and they just pointed us to various websites that we had already checked and wasn’t much help.
    In Summary
This error has now occurred with about 20 members of staff, we currently only use Windows 7 at our Senior School & Moving to Windows 7 at our Prep School in the Summer
holidays, we would like to find out the route of this problem ideally before then, as we could potentially be doubling the amount of staff with the problem after the move. Has anyone else seen this problem or have a brain wave on how to solve it?
    Regards
    Andy

    Hi Dudleya,
First of all ,I would suggest to check the permissions of the NTUSER.DAT registry hive .Here is a link for reference :

  • Group Policy Client service failed the sign-in

After doing an OSD with a Windows 8.1 reference image, I get the "The Group Policy Client service failed the sign-in. The Universal unique identifier (UUID) type is not supported." message. It only shows up on the first very first log in, right
after the OSD process has completed, and never shows up again. I'm using basic OSD task sequences right now, but I'm not sure where to pinpoint the cause of this message.

    Hi,
This is only happening when we use the original RTM ISO en_windows_8_1_enterprise_x64_dvd_2791088.iso
(without any software update), if we instead use the en_windows_8_1_enterprise_x64_dvd_2971902.iso the error is gone.
Apparently this ISO is updated with the
Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 General Availability Update Rollup

  • The Remote Desktop administrator software failed to start due to an unexpected error...

    Hi all...
Suddenly, I'm getting this error message when I try to open ARD. It was working a week ago and I'm not aware of changing anything. Any advice?
This is the 3.6.1 version of the ARD admin and I have the 3.6.2 Client installed (that was the way it was before, too, when it was working).
Note: I did try a fix from the forums that was posted in 2009, which required deleting the ARDAgent from the RemoteManagement folder in System/Core Services... and then reinstalling again using the Apple ARD Admin download for same. It worked for one run of the program, then the error came back.
    What do you guys think?

    Hmphf.
You may have to reinstall the Remote Desktop SW. See if that helps.
I don't think it's a coincidence that this update "fixed" the Remote Desktop SUID warning, and it also removed the potential update from my computer which I had placed on "Ignore" since I did not need it and did not need the warning, either. So there is a connection between this update and the Remote Desktop SW.

  • Spotify Desktop app 1.0.7

    Spotify Desktop app 1.0.7
Last week we started rolling out the 1.0.7 update of the Spotify Desktop app. We wanted to highlight the ideas we've implemented from the Community, as well as new features you'll find in this release.
    Implemented Ideas:
This feature was implemented after reading your feedback here in the Community.  Thank you for continuing to provide comments and continue the discussion around what you want to see in Spotify:
    1. On Windows, the corner X button can close or minimise Spotify. Choose which setting you prefer in your Preferences.
Just go to your Preferences and click Advanced Settings.
You'll then see the option to turn on the option Close button should minimize the Spotify window to the Tray.
    New Desktop features:
    2. Making a collaborative playlist in 1280x800 resolution? Excellent. Now you can see who's added songs in the User column.
    3. The option "Create Playlist" is in playlist context menus to allow you quickly create a playlist from a right-click.
    4. Click the Lyrics, Messages and Play Queue buttons once to view then once again to back.
    5. We've improved the algorithm for playlist sorting.
Keep bringing us your feedback. We're listening.
We are always bringing your feedback posted here in the Spotify Community back to headquarters. Please keep bringing your ideas to the Community's Idea Exchange so we can be sure your voice is heard.

Thanks for reimplementing the feature to minimise to system tray upon close.
The problem now is that it doesn't show the current track on hover of the system tray icon. This is how Spotify used to work so please reimplement this feature too.
EDIT: Also reimplement the other feature in the tray icon when right-clicking (pause, next, previous).

  • I have installed Creative Cloud Desktop but it fails to load. The icon shows up in the bar at the top right but then it just disappears. I am running Yosemite on a MacBook Pro.

I downloaded and installed Creative Cloud Installer and installed the Creative Cloud desktop on my MacBook Pro running Yosemite. The Creative Cloud desktop tries to install when the system starts and the icon actually shows in the top bar briefly and then disappears shortly after it shows up so it is obviously failing to load. I have tried multiple times to no avail.

do you mean in my system library? or where can I find it?
