Spreadsheet won't print!

Hi, I have a spreadsheet that I have been able to print. Then, after I made a few changes, I am not able to print it any longer. I have turned off my computer and printer and rebooted, still nothing. Other documents in my saved Appleworks program are able to print, so it's not my printer, nor is it that my power connections are not made. I also emailed an attached file to myself and received it complete, but can not print it!! Any suggestions? Did I hit something that I am unaware of? Or can I resave it to something else?

Hi Yvan,
I tried saving it as an AW5 and when I reopened it, the computer said "the document was created by a previous version of AW. A copy will be opened and (v6.0) will be added to the file name." I selected "OK" and still am unable to print it. I also did what Peggy said...I trashed "com.apple.appleworks.plist" and restarted AW and still am unable to print it! I have not tried the second option she mentions about reinstalling AW. I am looking for my CD. However, I really don't think I moved the applications from the folder to a different location. Any other suggestions are appreciated. Thank you so very much!

  • 2010 excel spreadsheets won't print.

I recently got a new PC running Windows 8 and installed MS Office 2013. I have an HP Deskjet 2050 all-in-one printer (j510a).  I downloaded the correct print drivers for the printer to my new computer from the HP site and I also performed a "scan doctor" test as recommended when I couldn't solve the problem.  Print drivers appear to be installed correctly.  All printer test screens work properly.  All "new" MS office files appear to print OK and older (2010) Word files and Powerpoint files appear to print OK.  However, I have a large number of 2010 Excel templates that I use quite frequently and none of them will print on the HP 2050 with my new computer.  They load into the new MS Excel program and the template equations work fine.  I just can't print anything from the sheets.  I don't know if this is a printer problem or an Excel problem.  It appears to be a printer problem.  When attempting to print the file, the shelf icon for the printer shows a document ready to be printed . . . There is a short pause . . . then "0 documents to print" . . . but no document ever prints . . . no error statements . . . nothing.  Any ideas?

I don't know what the problem was, but I finally resolved it by simply doing a cut-and-paste from the old spreadsheets into new ones. You must make sure you copy all rows and columns from the old sheet into the same number of rows and columns in the new spreadsheet in order to make the macros work, but when done properly, the new template will print. I was told by one of my tech support folks on campus that it is probably a print driver issue with the new Windows 8 print drivers I downloaded for the printer. Not really sure if that is correct or not, but it did solve my problem.

  • Numbers spreadsheet won't print in correctly in landscape from iCloud

I have a Numbers spreadsheet that needs to be printed in landscape to get all the columns to show. Doing this directly in Numbers works as expected and all columns show correctly. However, after it is shared onto iCloud and you attempt to print from there, selecting Landscape flips both the paper and text on the side basically giving the same result as Portrait. Can anyone else confirm this?
    Thank you.

  • Spreadsheet:  cell grid won't print.

Downloaded Leopard 10.5.1. Now Appleworks spreadsheets won't print cell grid even though it is selected in the print window. Canon iP5000 printer has latest print driver installed that IS 10.5.1 compatible. Everything else prints fine, just not the cell grid. Canon reps say it must be an Apple problem at this point. Any suggestions? Is Leopard supporting AppleWorks or not? I haven't been able to find out for sure. If it isn't, then I can live with this anomaly.

    Hi Hal,
Leopard itself does not 'support' AppleWorks (or any other Carbon application). Carbon applications run in Rosetta, which is included in Leopard.
A possible workaround for the cell boundary printing problem may be to 'print' to a PDF file, then print that to paper from Preview.
Two other maintenance steps that should be done after any installation may also help:
Use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions on your hard drive, and delete AppleWorks's preferences files. See my reply to consolata in the "I can't save an AppleWorks document" thread for more on deleting prefs.

  • Won't print cell grid

    Using AW 6.2.9
all of a sudden the cell grids in spreadsheet won't print.
All the proper preferences are selected. Grid won't appear on Preview screen either. Would appreciate any hints.

    Hi Lou,
I recall reading a post recently from Yvan Koenig regarding another printing problem. You might also try hiis suggestion, which was to open a new spreadsheet document, then drag the icon of the problem sheet onto the new one. Data and formulas from the original will be inserted into the new sheet, but the embedded print record will not.
I don't know whether it's appropriate to your issue, but it won't harm anything.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • Won't print all the horizontal grid lines

The printer won't print all my horizontal lines on a spreadsheet.

Do a print preview, and if the lines are missing in the preview, then it's the sreadsheet app, or setting in the spreadsheet. If the preview has the lines but not on the printout, it could be the printhead had a nozzle or two clogged, try "clean printhead" in the tools menu.

  • Printer won't print too- need a new printer head. i want to know if you have one in stock

Hi, my printer won't print and the error message states "bad printerhead".  My printer model is  HP officejet d 155xi.  I need to know  how much it costs or would it be cheaper to buy a new printer.  Still have four cartridges of ink.  Please advise.  Thanks.

    HI,
You can find the General prices for the printheads HERE, if you only have to replace one its ok, but keep in mind that the other printhead are likely to be just as old and might break down as wel.

  • I have an hp photosmart c7280 all-in-one series printer won't print. error message, system problem

I have an HP Photosmart All-in-One C7280 series printer/fax/copier/scanner. I have been having issues with printing for the past few weeks. It is a wireless printer, with a jack into the wall (for fax) and it is plugged into a power source. I never used to have issues with it before, but recently, it won't print when I send a document to it to print. It will print its configuration pages, reports, etc if I select them from the Printer's menu but not when I send a doc to it to print. First it was saying it was offline, but I figured out how to override that by operating as an administrator and selecting "Use Printer Online" from the dropdown menu when I right clicked on the printer from the control panel. But now it says "Error: Printer failed to print document. System error".
Noooo clue what to do now. This is the only color printer we have so we kind of need it to work. We bought this printer off the shelf at a office store (before I started working here) and so we don't have any designated technichians to work on it. I asked the guy who services our Image Runner Copier to look at it but he had no clue what was wrong with it. Hopefully someone can help?

  • Hp deskjet 1510 series won't print

We mloved recently to  la Gomera (Canarian isle)  and there I bought a hp deskjet 1510. It won't print when connected to my lap top, also HP with Windows vista, although it is connected, is on, and is the default printer. When connected to our other lap top, also HP but with windows 7, it works fine. The only thing I managed to print is a diagnostic page but it give only numbers and letters like SN = CN39a19mmp05yr 21 PG =81 12 PER = -5yr 22 FB = 0/0 etc. Tjat does nog help me :-(.  does anybody know how to solve this?

  • Deskjet 3050 Won't Print Wirelessly

    Hi there,
My new all in one 3050 won't print for me. It is "Offline" in the network page. I feel I have explored every avenue and it will still not print. The wireless network configuration page I printed says everything passed. The home network disagnostic tool says "software missing" after i click test connection. The print diagnostic tool fails on connectivity everytime. I can connect to the printer ip 192.168.1.3 in the browser 95% of the time but not always. My router is a Zyxel P-660HW-T1 v3. I'm really close to tears with frustration, I'm quite computer and networking savvy but I cannot fix this. please help, I'd be eternally grateful.
    Kind Regards,
    Larry.

  • Remote laptop won't print to new HP4622 wireless printer

My new HP 4622 won't print from wife's laptop (Compaq Presario CQ-60-224NR w/ Windows Vista) in another part of the house on my home Centurylink DSL network with very good connectivity.  I have the printer installed at my desktop (Gateway Microsoft XP SP3) and it prints fine from the desktop.  Does the printer software also need to be installed on the laptop?  I sent a .jpg file to the printer from the laptop and it printed one line of unicode? code per page until I cancelled the job from the print queue. I have gone thru the installation guide a couple of times and nothing is fixed.  Test results say that everything passed and install is successful.  I downloaded and tried the print doctor wizard and it says no problems found.  I have McAfee total protection running, could there be a firewall problem?  I'm not sure about enabling ports or that sort of thing.  I dumped a perfectly good Lexmark X7170 all-in-one because it wasn't wireless and we couldn't get it configured to print peer-to-peer.  Now I have a new wireless printer and con't get to print remotely either.  Hope you can help.  Let me know if you need more info.  Thanks.

    Hi Ken,
I would recommend giving the printer a static IP address for the wireless connection (not USB):
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
    - Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you will have delete and re-add the printer on your computer. Do it this way:
    0. Go to Start > Control Panel > Devices & Printers and delete all instances of the printer.
    1. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address before continuing. Get its IP from a Network Test printed from the front panel of the printer.
    2. Click >> Start >> Control panel >> Devices & Printers.
    3. Click the Add a printer
    4. Select Local printer
    5. Select Create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port and click Next button.
    6. Under Device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under Hostname or IP address, enter the printer's IP address. Click Next.
    7. Select Hewlett-Packard from the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model was not listed, then select Have Disk, browse the HP CD that came with your printer and select the first file that starts with hp and ends with inf. Click Open then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If you are asked, use the currently installed driver.
    9. It will ask for the Printer name -- enter a new name or use the existing one. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. You may be asked to share the printer. Choose NO.
    11. The Print Test Page box appears. Go ahead and print it.
    12. Click Finish.
If you're still experiencing issues try changing the channel on your router to 11 and the encyption to WPA.

  • Report won't print to the end of width in Oracle E-Business Suite

    Hello all,
I desperately need help to setup Reports 6i layout. I created a report for a 8.3 x 11.69" and it seems fine when I print directly from Reports Developer but when I register it in Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2 it won't print to the end of page width. It always cut the print in about 3/4 of page width. I already setup the report as a text and pdf but still no success. Enlarge the width and height of the report won't help either. Anyone can suggest something to help? Thanks.

  • Won't Print to Kodak 1400 Professional - "Printing" never ends

Hi - Using MacBook Pro 17" and Aperture. OS 10.4.x. Out of box, new Kodak 1400 Professional Printer worked fine, and printed several great pictures. A week later, I was unable to print anything at all. Printer Window shows "PRINTING" and the twirling barber pole thermometer, but it NEVER prints however long I wait and no error message.
I've opened and closed printer, restarted printer and computer, checked that the firmware is up to date, re-set the paper in tray, etc. ALSO, it won't print JPGS from Preview, or apparently anything.
    What could have happened?
    Fix?
    David Ferleger
    email [email protected]

I have no idea if this will help anyone, but it helped me. I had my Kodak 1400 working with no problems for quite a while. I never really printed much, but I did now and then. About two months ago, I ran out of paper and didn't purchase any more for a while. I finally got my two packs (so I could get the third free!) about two weeks ago. I now have two clients who need prints, a total of about 85 8x10s.
So, I setup the printer, installed the driver, and started going about my business. Setup the prints, got it all rolling, and prepared to run the first print through as I've found the first print on a new ribbon is a dud due to dust. Nothing happened. It went to "printing" and stared at me as though it were as dumbfounded I asked it to print as I was that it WASN'T printing.
That was yesterday. Since then, I've removed the driver about a bajillion times. Googled this, FAQ'd that, held my tongue appropriately, used different USB cables, different USB ports, removed the other printer, blahdy blahdy blah. Then, this afternoon while I was somewhere between awake and sleep, it hit me: why not try an older driver. I thought about it, and realized that since the last time I was using the 1400 successfully, I'd reinstalled OSX. What were the odds that when I downloaded the driver the last time, I downloaded the "wrong" driver and got the old one (1.0.2) instead of the NEW correct driver, 2.0.0.
So, I removed the old driver from everywhere I could. Restarted the computer. Installed 1.0.2, cliked print, and felt my heart sink as the red Error light blinked intermittently with the "Media" light. Shot through the heart... then, all of a sudden, it sucked in some paper, and started printing! Problem solved!
So, if you still can't print, try using 1.0.2. It might not work, but if you can't print with 2.0.0, what harm can it do? NONE! Muhahahaha. I feel so adventurous for using an old driver. (yes, this is what now counts as "adventure" for me... now go away or I shall taunt you a second time.)
    Hope that works for someone!
