SPRunConso

We got a problem that suddenly occured this month with SPRunConso which always have been working fine before.
SPRunConso takes about 10 minutes to run which is normal and we don´t get any error message.
But no rows are calculated and no rows are updated
I have checked if we have ownership data for the corresponding Time, Category Group combination we are trying to consolidate.
SPRunConso works fine for our other smaller groups, it´s just our largest group that´s not working.
Any one with any solutions?
I was thinking maybe there are some time limit for SPRunConso when I´m running it as a package? It seems like SPRunConso takes more than 600 seconds in the large group where it isn´t working

if you think it is a timeout issue...try including
*TIMEOUT = 0 to make it unlimited.
But more importantly was this logic ever running for the largest group.? If yes, we need to figure out what has changed from then to now. Is it a data issue/logic issue/or any other security /work status tht is causing the logic to take more than usual time.

Hi,
I think there is a syntax problem in your SPRUNCONSO call. GROUPS_SET variable is missing. The syntax should be like this:
*RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE = SPRUNCONSO([%APP%],[%CATEGORY_SET%],[%GROUPS_SET%],[%SCOPETABLE%],[%LOGTABLE%])
In addition, not sure if it's a typo problem or not, but it seems that your call for the SPRUNCONVERSION is also wrong. Some variables are also missing:
*RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE=SPRUNCONVERSION([%APP%],[%CATEGORY_SET%],[%CURRENCY_SET%],[GLOBAL],[%SCOPETABLE%],[%LOGTABLE%])
Then, for all the error codes, you can get rid of those one using the ON_ERROR_CONTINUE, at the end of the line.
Normally, those kind of error message are generic, and informed the user that there is actually no records that should be the source of the SPRUNCONSO stored procedure.

Problem with Legal Consolidation Package - SPRunConso

Hi experts,
I need your help, when i run the package LegalConsolidation, it doesnt work and reports this error:

The strangest, its that its works for some months (Feb 2008 for example), i am sure that it has not relation with workstatus.
Could you help me? Do you have any idea about it?

Please check if your ownership data is the same for all months (just as in Feb).
Please also check that your rates are populated properly for all months.
If the above 2 are fine, process the time dimension since it appears to be recognizing feb but not other mos.
Also, make sure that you get it running when the parameters in your package selection are one month first. Once that works, you can run for multiple mos. provided you do not have periodic process in your consol rules - but do not cross years.

SPRUNCONVERSION and SPRUNCONSO

I experiment some troubles with the SPRUNCONVERSION and SPRUNCONSO stroreproc.
SPRUNCONVERSION
My time dimension is based on this structure :
YYYY (level : year)
|__SS (semester and level coded as quarter)
|____QQ (quarter and level coded as month)
When I run the process on the 2 last quarter of the year, it works fine (for all the years).
But when I run it on the 2 first quarters, I get an error message :
SPRunConversion Version 2.07
ERROR FX-150 Problem IN Ownership
Any idea why it doesn't work only for that specific quarters ?

I've checked :
I've dataentry on datasrc's members coded as "I" in the datarsrc_Type property

My ownership cube has values since the last period of the previous year
the logfile dor sprunconso is correct (compared whith apshell)
Business rules tables for elimation have been filled in.
For the periods, data in ownership are correct. They're correctly displayed using the dynamic hierachic tool (esbumit)
Groups members are coded as "G" in Groups (currency) dimension with a group_currency.
Any idea ?

BPC Consolidation SPRUNCONSO stored procedure

I am working through the stored procedure for subsidiary investment and equity elimination using the stored procedure SPRUNCONSO. I get there error "CSD-090 Nothing extract from ownership". I have followed the administration guide but seem to be missing some configuration. Any help would be appreciated.

The error generally means you need to check 3 possible issues.
-Check for the property "IS_INPUT" in the Account dimension of the OWNESHIP Cube
-Check if you have some base member from the Account dimension of the OWNESHIP Cube with IS_INPUT = "Y"
-Check If you have valid information (data) in the OWNERSHIP cube for the selected Category Time.
There was a prior Forum Message that outlined all the known Stored Procedure Errors and what to look to improve.

Multiple years with SPRUNCONSO

Hi there,
Question about sprunconso storedproc :
Does a way exist to launch SPRUNCONSO for multiple years at a time ?
I've to launch this calculation for the next 5 years very often on the budget and have to lauch it year by year.
I've tried to combine the SPRUNCONSO with multiple xdim_memberset to limit the scope by year but it stills work on 1 year only.
If someone as an idea ?

Run SPRUNCONSO for some of the rules only

Dear all,
   Is it possible to run SPRUNCONSO for some of the rules only?
   For example ,
   I got 10 rules defined in the rule table.
   I want to run 1~5 rules first ,after that run other functions or adjustment and last
   run the following 6~10 rules.
   Is this possible?

But, I think in order to achieve that we also need to separate the source datsources,right?
For example:

sInput - dInput
sFirstrulesELIM - dFirstrulesELIM
sSecondrules - dSecondrules
sInput2nd - dInput2nd
s2NDrulesELIM - d2NDrulesELIM
And, those s<datasources> are more like a staging data for each step.
We might need to clean up those data after running those rules?
Or,
The system run the rules by the order of the adjustment id name?

I have a file containing a short explaination with every conso error. In this file it states for your error:
ERROR CSD-150 Problem Extracting data - C_REPART
No Values found for those rules.
Check the method between METHOD Table and your ownership Cube.
Check your Rules between the RULES Table and The ELIM Table.
Check The INTCO.
Hope this will guide you to the root cause.

SPRUNCONSO with 0% in POWN

I have set up the rule to calculate POWN in Group and 1-POWN in
Minority. This works fine where the ownership percentage is not 0%.
We have however, some entities with 0% ownership in one of the
ConsolViews. This results in values being computed - 0% in the Group
account and 100% in the Minority account. The client however, does not
want any account values where ownership is 0%. What is the most
effective way to achieve this?
To illustrate further: Entity X has 80% POWN in Consolview 1, but 0% POWN in Consolview 2. How do I set up the business rule so that no values show up in Consolview 2?

If the ownership is 0%, then this entity should be excluded from the consolidation scope entirely, correct? I would think if you leave the METHOD blank that should fix the problem.
If you've already set a method to a value other than 0, change it to zero. Once you do a full optimize & compress on your ownership application, the zero will be removed and it will be treated as a null value.

Hi this was due to not maintaining proper design and it was solved later once we setup all the parameters perfectly
and had time dimension members for one year prior (though seems strange)

Zero values in the database

Dear BPC Experts,
I am getting incorrect results when running SPRUNCONSO. It seems that the error is due to zero values that are in the database. Would you know how i am getting zero values in the FACT tables? What should i do to prevent this situation in the future?

Thanks for your comments/inputs. I am getting wrong amounts in the calculation of minority interest expense, equity in net earnings and investments. However, only a few entities are affected.
Minority interest expense = PMIN * Net Profit >>> Using the data in BPC, i dont get the correct results for some entities.
System was calculation correctly in the previous month.
Any idea what is causing this wrong calculation?

How to use "Adjustment Level " in automatic adjustments rule

Now we are setting up BPC for legal consolidation.
we use BPC 7.0MS SP4 Version.
I want to use some result of automatic adjustment rules for source data, so I tried to use adjustment level in automatic adjustments rules.
I was setting up A rule's (to use source data) adjustment level is 0 and B rule's level is 1,
the result of SPRUNCONSO were "Error" CSD-150 and CSD-160.
Please let me know how to use adjustment level option.

Error on legal consolidation

Hi,
we are using BPC 7.5 and we are trying to run a legal consolidation (SPRUNCONSO). The error we get is
CSD-120: No Entity - Method available
I have searched the forum for this error and found references to the ownership application. We do have one, it has data for the companies and period (plus previous year end) in question. I have checked the consolidation method used against those set-up (standard from Appshell, i.e. 90 and 86) and the rules we have created and it all matches and looks valid.
Our accounts in ownership are
PCON
POWN
PGROUP
METHOD
PMIN
Most of the dimensions used in the ownership cube (category, currency, entity, intco and time) are shared with the consol app, only the account dimension is specific to the ownership cube.
Does anyone have any idea what else I can check?

I think your problem is to assign the consolidation method to the entity
Into the administrator, define the consolidation method inside the business rule library
for example
90 for Holding
86 for Global
70 for proporcional
etc.
You have to create a input schedule, with the follow row and col
ROW
ENTITY
COL
CONSGROUP
O_ACCT
Afther that you can execute the package /CPMB/OWNERSHIPCALC to calculate the indirect plus direct consolithation percentage

BPC 7.0: Consolidation in financial application but with errors

Hello
Currently we consolidate with an FXConsol data package in a financial application type. We did not want to create a consolidation application type, as any eliminations are not necessary. But adding all company values up to a group value is essential.
However, putting all numbers together with the FXConsol package is working, but nevertheless the log details show an error - no instruction retrieved from ELIM table.
Is it possible to let FXConsol finish without showing an error in a financial application? Or is it better to use FXTrans with an additional formula?

Hi Melanie,
There is some inconsistency which has come up during the entire process. If you can please let me know the exact steps you have followed, that would be great.
The main problem, I see, is with the argument list of the SPRUNCONSO. Check the parameters of SPRUNCONSO in the database and match it with the arguments using which you are invoking the stored procedure. There is some mismatch between these 2 places.
Since the requirement, based on your previous post, was just to have another copy, I would suggest you to create copy of the specific function and rename it, instead of creating the copy of the entire .lgl file.
1. In your script logic, change the statement RunConsolidation(parameters) to RunCon(parameters).
2. In the file AAG_System_Library.lgl, copy from
*SUB Runconsolidation(......
*ENDSUB
and paste it at the end of the same file.
3. Change Runconsolidation to RunCon
4. Make the desired changes in this function.
So, this process will create a new function runcon and you can modify it as required. This function can be refered in your script file and this should work absolutely fine.
