Which bit of SQL 2012 is best for working around the 2GB limit on Access database file sizes?
I have a very simple database with one very big table which is 1.8GB.

This is what I’m trying to accomplish. I have a project that uses MS Access to collect data using stationary PCs located far from the actual data collection site. The use of Tablet PCs with the use of wireless network has been suggested to make data entry
more efficient so data collection is done at the point of inspection. The problem is that MS Access was not build to transmit data/be used in a wireless network environment, so my idea was to use the same MS Access front end (to save time by not building anther
FE and keep same interface for user) with a LocalDB as back end on the Tablet PC and have the LocalDB either at time interval send the data to synch to a network replica backend for everybody use.
If answer is NO, suggest a feasible approach with any other product of way to accomplish this data transmission.
Just so this post question is clearer a SQL Server is not be permitted in this site.

Help with an SQL Expression - Return field value where Datetime is Min or First datetime
Hello,
I'm extracting results for a patient population.
I have 6 SQL expressions that pull back the first date for specific procedures or Medications being ordered.
These Expressions work perfect - One of the expressions return the first time a lab was ordered.
I'm using SQL that return
Min(OrderDatetime)
From OrderTable
Where
LABCode = XXX
I've now been ask to return the value of this lab result.
Question: How do I write an SQL expression that return the Lab value of the Min(OrderDatetime)
Example Data
PATID* LABID * OrderDatetime * ResultValue
Pat1*133 * 12/12/2013 11:00:pm * 77
Pat1*145 * 12/12/2013 11:45:pm * 45
Pat1*147 * 12/13/2013 12:10:AM * 78

Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <,>,>= or when the subquery is used as an expression.

Commercial distributed application with SQL Server 2008 back-end
Hi All, I am suffering some confusion and wondered if anyone could clear up a few questions for me.
I am currently developing an application to be sold commercially, to be deployed locally on a customer's site. It is a client-server application and the server utilises an SQL Server 2008 back-end. Client applications however do connect directly to the SQL
Server.
We probably want to support about 100+ client applications. Each client application could feasibly be making several SQL query requests per second.
Firstly, what are the licensing implications of this for the customer? I understand SQL Server 2008 can support 30000+ concurrent connections, but am I correct in thinking that each client application will require CALs? Or I understand there is a "processor
licence"...
Secondly, and I know this is quite a broad question, but can anyone offer a rough estimation of the processing/storage requirements for the server?

Hi All,
I'm still struggling with the same cube and this is my 3rd post and once i fix some thing the other breaks. Please forgive me. When i process my cube i'm getting the error:
Errors in the back-end database access module. OLE DB was unable to convert a value to the data type requested for column 5.
My question is when the error says column 5 (is it the column 5 in the DSV?) or is it the column 5 in the DIMENSION list?
My next question is the DSV Query works perfectly fine , so why this error in cube? This is what i have in the query in DSV.
Please need help. In the below query both the column 5 (ArEASSIGNED TO VENDOR) in the CUBE and underlying table have the same data type and length VARCHAR(4000). Why is the process failing still?

I see now that your subject line talks about column 6, but you say column 5 in body of your original post.
I don't know anything about cubes, but apparently there is some mapping problem when you run it from SSAS. (I assume it is SSAS, a part of the product I'm entirely ignorant of.) I figured that if you had got tripped by the zero-based numbering, you
might be staring on the wrong column.

I'm still struggling with the same cube and this is my 3rd post and once i fix some thing the other breaks. Please forgive me. When i process my cube i'm getting the error:
Errors in the back-end database access module. OLE DB was unable to convert a value to the data type requested for column 5.
My question is when the error says column 5 (is it the column 5 in the DSV?) or is it the column 5 in the DIMENSION list?
My next question is the DSV Query works perfectly fine , so why this error in cube? This is what i have in the query in DSV.
Please need help. In the below query both the column 5 (ArEASSIGNED TO VENDOR) in the CUBE and underlying table have the same data type and length VARCHAR(4000). Why is the process failing still?

SVI just counted the columns from the top:

I see now that your subject line talks about column 6, but you say column 5 in body of your original post.
I don't know anything about cubes, but apparently there is some mapping problem when you run it from SSAS. (I assume it is SSAS, a part of the product I'm entirely ignorant of.) I figured that if you had got tripped by the zero-based numbering, you
might be staring on the wrong column.

You need servlet and JSPs for the server-side presentation layer, some classes for the business logic, and some mor for the persistence layer either using JDBC or some framework like Hibernate. -
No data in Web i Report but i could see data at back end sql

I have line charts in Webi Report. The report generated sql has data when i run at back end but if i run the webi report i couldn't data and see as Query 1 does not have have the data. May i know the reason for this pls ?

If you are getting data at back end not in reports then then possibly there can be several reasons
1. Check for query properties:
at Query level click refresh and check whether you are able to see some results:
If not then there might be a filter at universe level or if yes then check if there are any filter at report level.

Support for ASP.NET was removed from Dreamweaver some time ago (in CS4, I think).
If you want to restore the ASP.NET server behaviors in CS5, you need to install ASPNet_Support.mxp, which can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS5\configuration\DisabledFeatures in Windows or the similar location in the Applications folder on a Mac.
The server behaviors are no longer officially supported, but they perform the same functionality as in older versions of Dreamweaver. -
Hello there, I am creating a database of all our companies press contacts. I would like to create a form that would act as the front end and feed the database which is obviously the back end. The database is in Access 2013. My question is to whether this is indeed possible?

What password are you talking about, the one created with the workgroup manager? That will be difficult since 2010 doesn't have the workgroup manager anymore. You can still use the database in the 2010 environment but you can't make any changes to the original

Accessing auth. scheme in PL/SQL expression
I have an Authorization scheme (AS1) that returns true for a certain set of users.
I have some form items on a page that have their Read Only condition set to a PL/SQL expression based on values of other form items.
But for the set of users for whom AS1 returns true, I would like to disable the readonly condition i.e. display the page item normally. This would be equivalent to adding a AND NOT AS1 to the PL/SQL expression.
Is there a way to access the authorization scheme in an PL/SQL expression in this fashion?

Does the implementation of that API respect the "cached per page view or per session" attribute of the authorization scheme? In other words, does using that API in a PL/SQL condition result in identical behaviour as declaratively attaching the authorization scheme to a component?

Problem with MS-Access as Back-End Database
We are using MS-Acess as a back-end Database
when we are inserting some rows into that table all rows are inserting but the last inserting row statement , is not inserting into that table

Problem accessing SQL Express 2008 R2 after VS package install
I've written an application package in Visual Studio 2010 which requires SQL Express 2008 R2. I've also created a separate setup package and set SQL Express as a prerequisite. Everything runs as expected except that after the install on target machine
I do not have adequate permissions in SQL to attach the database or set up the user via SQLCMD script. This happens on WIN 7 and up. I know it is a permissions issue with the default install of SQL but do not know how to otherwise perform the install and make

Based on your description, the important issue would be related to the permission, as my understanding, it would be related to the SQL Server setup or configuration.

Hi everyone!
We are suddenly having Problems to access our SQL Express Server from our Clients (SBS 2008 with W7 clients).
Till yesterday evening everything was working fine. At night we installed the latest MS patches für our Server 2008 (SBS2008).
Since then we are not able to connect to the SQL Express Server over the Network. Locally (on the Server) it runs fine.
Switching the Windows Firewall off on the Server also lets the clients connect ...
The Windows Firewall still has all the ports open needed for SQL Server, we havn't changed anything.
All the incoming rules that worked for years are still there (untouched).
We just deinstalled all the latest patches, but problem still is here ... not sure if this was just a coincidence ...
Any ideas what could be the Problem?

enable traffic on TCP 1433 and UDP 1434 (if isn't a named instance) or check sql using ports.
Check Sql Server Browser in Configuration Manager and also net protocols.
