to me, we have to completely read SQL Server Internals book to understanding internals of DMLs. so many internal compoents, layers works starting from pressing F5 at client location till we get the result in results pane.

SQL Server Equivalent of this for Oracle.

could you tell me whether Microsoft have achieved cluster technology with "Yukon" or not?
As announced in article: Database Architecture: Federated vs. Clustered-An Oracle White Paper March2002, "...According to Michael Otey, Senior Technical Editor, SQL Server Magazine:�Technically, this setup isn�t a true clustered implementation. According to Microsoft, SQL Server won�t support true clustering until the post-SQL Server 2000 release, code named Yukon.�(Yukon is not expected to be shipped until well into 2003.) - But when I browse msdn, there is nothing on the architecture itself.
I am doing my Master's thesis on 9iRAC, and I need this information to complete my research. I found several Oracle white papers talking about federated vs. clustered architecture. As said in Response to "Reality behind Real
Application Clusters Marketing Messages"- An Oracle White Paper March, 2003"..when in truth Microsoft does not have a cluster database." Is this still the truth? Can somebody from ORACLE provide me with tips/links to complete this topic?

Hello,
we want to install Reporting Services in a 2-Tier Architecture. The Servers are the following:
SERVER1: Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012
SERVER2: SharePoint 2013 (WFE)
Reporting Server is installed on SERVER1 and running. On SERVER2 the registration of the service through Powershell was done but it does not start. An Error when starting the Service on the server occurs with the message:
"Installation Error: Could not find SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\110 registry key."
I have found the following in msdn stating that a minimal of the same SharePoint Installation must exist on the Reporting Server. The article is for SQL Server 2008 R2 and SharePoint 2010. Is this the case also for SQL Server 2012 and SharePoint 2013 and

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to install Reporting Services in a 2-Tier Architecture.
As the article
say, if you use Two-Computer Deployment, the first computer hosts an instance of a SharePoint product. The Reporting Services Add-in is installed on this computer. The second computer hosts SQL Server Reporting Services and the Database Engine.
The steps to install in a two-tier environment are very similar to a standalone environment hence you can go to refer to the ' Install Reporting Services SharePoint Mode for SharePoint 2013' article at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219068(v=sql.110).aspx

I was planning the architecture of a SQL Server Datawarehouse project (SQL Server 2014 and Sharepoint 2013) and I was thinking in 3 servers:
1 - SQL Server Database Engine and Integration Services
2 - SQL Server Analysis Services, using tabular models to support Powerpivot and Powerview
3 - SQL Server Reporting Services and Sharepoint
I want to know from your experience if there is any issue with this approach and to know if it's better to install the database of Reporting Services and Sharepoint:
a) on server 1, creating a specific instance for ReportServer and a specific instance for Sharepoint, or on the same instance as the DW databases. My issue with this is that sharepoint installs so many databases with some kind of hash keys on their name
that is visually annoying
b) on server 3 on the same server of SSRS and Sharepoint
Other approaches are welcome.

We're currently in process of implementing datawarehouse project and our configuration is similar to yours. We're using a standalone server for SSAS (Multidimensional) so if its Tabular you might need more memory on the server. We're using a shared reporting
server( which have other report application as well like cognos).
The database/ETL server is same. ETL we're using SSIS 2012 packages with SSIS catalog (project deployment). We also have a Oracle CDC instance running in it to pull deltas from Oracle DB which is one of our sources
As far as current performance goes its not having any issues but we dont have much data now coming.

You can see file is corrupt. So either you have to download the setup file again or there can be chance that Antivirus caused some issue.
Plus if you see starting of summary.txt you could see

The error message came while landing page was being loaded/or was in action so again I think it is some thing related to corrupt media or antivirus.

1. Download ISO file again and extract using WINRAR, don't use Winzip
2. Disable Antivirus.
3. Make a new folder and extract installable there.

Account installing SQL server does not have permission to access this. I think case can be here that account with which you logged into your system to install SQL Server might not have certain privileges. Can you take help
of domain admin account add it as a local administrator in this machine always right click on setup file and select run as administrator. Before this make sure you remove all SQL Server components from add remove program

You are trying to upgrade to SQL 2012 standard edition which is not supported .you can only upgrade from SQL server 2008 R2 Sp2 Enterprise edition to SQL 2012 Enterprise or business intellgience. see below link for supported upgrade paths

If you want to move ahead you should try Side by side approach.Create new SQL server 2012 box and restore backup.

Before you run SQL Server 2008 express setup, make sure that you have installed Windows installer 4.5 and.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 manually. For more information about the process, please refer to the article:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506(v=sql.100).aspx. Moreover, please turn off all the third-party softwares which could prohibit the installation process.
According to your error message, the issue could be due to that your account has no rights to install SQL Server, or the corruption on the media.
Firstly, please ensure that your account has admin rights. Also make sure that you right-click the setup.exe and choose “Run as administrator” to complete the installation.
Secondly, please check if "msdbdata.mdf" file exists at d:\8268cd7b247d294de359c9\x86\setup\sql_engine_core_inst_msi\PFiles\SqlServr\MSSQL.X\MSSQL\Binn\Template. If it exists, please make sure that your account has read permission to the extracted
folder.
However, if the file doesn't exist in the extraction, the media could be corrupt. Please download the
media
again and check if the issue still occurs.
