SQL Statement is needed

TABLE : A
============================
DATE-------------CCY------ EXCHANGE RATE
============================
1-JAN-2012--------USD-------96.02
2-JAN-2012--------USD-------97.01
3-JAN-2012--------USD-------96.03
6-JAN-2012--------USD-------96.04
REQUIRED TABLE : B
================================
DATE--------------CCY-----------EXCHANGE RATE
================================
1-JAN-2012--------USD-----------------96.02
2-JAN-2012--------USD-----------------97.01
3-JAN-2012--------USD-----------------96.03
4-JAN-2012--------USD-----------------96.03
5-JAN-2012--------USD-----------------96.03
6-JAN-2012--------USD-----------------96.04
7-JAN-2012--------USD-----------------96.04
8-JAN-2012--------USD-----------------96.04
4-SEP-2012--------USD----------------97.0
PROBLEM:Considering Required Table B :
4th & 5th January 2012 are Holidays in order to maintain Exchange rate on holidays as a result we have to set previous exchange rate
for both days (i.e In this case 3rd january's rate is applied on both 4th and 5th january) ,
Similarly, 7th and 8th january are holidays so that's why 6th January's Exchange Rate is applied on both 7th & 8th January.
so,I need to write a query which will give such result as described in table B.

You haven't specified your database version for us.
You haven't provided example data in a form we can use (CREATE TABLE/INSERT statements, or a WITH clause).
You haven't specified your expected output based on that example data.
You haven't formatted your code/data using {noformat}{noformat} tags.

    .>> My client does not want me to use statspack
    Your client does not want you to use the scripts provided by Oracle that do exactly what you want but will allow you to run sripts that come from some unknown (to the client, at least) source????

  • SQL statement help needed

    I am sure some of you will laugh lol, but I am drawing a blank and need some assistance if anyone is willing to help:
    I have this query:
    SELECT DISTINCT ID
    FROM (SELECT productcode
    FROM sforce_product2
    WHERE productcode NOT LIKE 'DSXXX%'
    AND productcode NOT LIKE 'DO NOT USE%'
    AND productcode NOT LIKE 'MAXXXX%'
    AND isactive = 'true'
    MINUS
    SELECT productcode
    FROM vew_product_export) a,
    sforce_product2
    WHERE a.productcode = sforce_product2.productcode
    which returns 112 ID's (which is wrong)
    The inner SELECT statement:
    SELECT productcode
    FROM sforce_product2
    WHERE productcode NOT LIKE 'DSXXX%'
    AND productcode NOT LIKE 'DO NOT USE%'
    AND productcode NOT LIKE 'MAXXXX%'
    AND isactive = 'true'
    MINUS
    SELECT productcode
    FROM vew_product_export
    returns 106.
    Am I doing something simple wrong or is my query just mangled!
    TIA,
    Mike

      SELECT DISTINCT ID
        FROM (SELECT productcode
                FROM sforce_product2
               WHERE productcode NOT LIKE 'DSXXX%'
                 AND productcode NOT LIKE 'DO NOT USE%'
                 AND productcode NOT LIKE 'MAXXXX%'
                 AND isactive = 'true'
              MINUS
              SELECT productcode
                FROM vew_product_export) a,
              sforce_product2
       WHERE a.productcode = sforce_product2.productcodethe above code is returning an ID column which i think most probable from the sforce_product2 table
    while this query below returns the 106 value that is coming from the column productcode.
      SELECT productcode
        FROM sforce_product2
       WHERE productcode NOT LIKE 'DSXXX%'
         AND productcode NOT LIKE 'DO NOT USE%'
         AND productcode NOT LIKE 'MAXXXX%'
         AND isactive = 'true'
      MINUS
      SELECT productcode
        FROM vew_product_exportso i think there is nothing wrong because if you will review the 112 is from the column ID while the 106 is from the column productcode.

  • Sender JDBC adapter : Update SQL Statement : stored procedure

    Hi,
    Can we use a stored procedure in the sender jdbc adapter in 'Update SQL Statement'.
    The problem i am facing is like, we are selecting data from two tables in 'SQL statement for query' and then in 'Update SQL Statement' , we need to delete that data from these two tables.
    Please let me know if it is possible.
    Thanks,
    Rohit

    you can use a Stored procedure in the
    Query SQL Statement
    You have the following options:
    ·        Specify a valid SQL SELECT statement to select the data to be sent from the specified database.
    ·        Specify an SQL EXECUTE statement to execute a stored procedure, which contains exactly one SELECT statement.
    The expression must correspond to the SQL variant supported by the relevant JDBC driver. It can also contain table JOINs.
    so have your whole select and update as part of this single Stored procedure

  • SQL statement in Oracle

    As I know in SQL server, i can create a field called customer name, can be two words. But in the SQL statement I need to use double quote to quote the customer name, such like: select * from "customer name"
    Can Oracle accept two words field name or table name. If Yes, then do I need to use double quote, or single quote or other things?

    If Yes, then do I need to use double quote, or single
    quote or other things?Yes, you can do it.
    However, most DBAs (even MS SQL Server ones) will tell you that that is bad form.
    And of course the reason for doing that should never be because those field names are being displayed. Displaying field names breaks every model that seperates data from display (GUI.)

    Hi,
    After WHERE .......... is indicates an OUTER Join condition.
    In this type of join, system retrieves the data for matched and
    as well as unmatched.
    Example:
    EMP table have a column DEPTNO with the data 10, 20, 30 (total rows=14)
    DEPT table have a column DEPTNO with the data 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 (total rows=5)
    If the WHERE clause contained EMP.DEPTNO(+) = DEPT.DEPTNO
    then the output contain the data relative to 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 (total rows = 16)
    i.e. 14 rows (with matching data) and 2 rows (with unmatching data)

  • Need SQL statement to generate a sequence number in the output rows

    Hi folks. I need to create an SQL statement that generates a sequence number column in the output rows (records) such that the first returned row has this column set to 1, second returned row has the column set to 2, etc.
    For example, consider the query:
    SELECT income from employees WHERE income != 20000 ORDER BY income;
    If employees.income contains 60,000, 20,000, 35,000, and 19,000 for respective rows, the output would be this:
    19,000
    35,000
    60,000
    I would like the SQL to also return a sequence number that is computed across the returned rows, resulting in two output columns:
    1 19,000
    2 35,000
    3 60,000
    Is there a simple SQL function that generates the sequence number, in order, and only for the returned rows? Or is there another way?
    I'm stumped. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forum!
    Use ROWNUM, like (example):
    Connected to Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0
    Connected as hr
    SQL> select rownum, first_name from (select e.first_name from employees e where e.first_name like 'J%' order by e.first_name);
        ROWNUM FIRST_NAME
             1 Jack
             2 James
             3 James
             4 Janette
             5 Jason
             6 Jean
             7 Jennifer
             8 Jennifer
             9 John
            10 John
            11 John
            12 Jonathon
            13 Jose Manuel
            14 Joshua
            15 Julia
            16 Julia
    16 rows selected
    SQL> But rememeber if you want to be sure of unique numbers in certain field is better to use sequences and use seq_name.nextval each time you need.

  • I need help in sql statement

    Hello all,
    im working in hr schema
    i need sql statement to answer my question
    i need all employees information
    where average salary = average salary department 50
    sorry i can't speak english very well
    thank's all

    There is no need to do it in two queries. All you need is:
    select  *
      from  (
             select  e.*,
                     avg(case department_id when 50 then salary end) over() dept_50_avg_sal

  • Need Help On SQL Statement

    I am using Sybase as my back end database. I need help on my SQL statement regarding datetime. The datetime is store as a 9 digit integer in the database (...I believe it is a Decimal(30,6) format, let me know if I am wrong).
    If I do this, "select * from mytable;" It works out fine (except I don't know what the date means e.g. 998919534)
    If I do this, "select * from mytable where datetime_col < '9/5/2002' ; I got an error. I even tried '9/5/02 11:00 000 am' but it didn't help.
    How do I specify a date or datetime in my query?
    Thanks in advance.

    I execute the sql statement
    select * from mytable where datetim_col < convert(datetime, '3/4/2002', 101) ;
    I got mix result. I got an error message "cannot convert 10375584 to a date.
    Yet, he statistics window of the I-sql says
    "estimated 493 rows in query (I/O estimate 87)
    PLan> mytable (seq)"
    It looks like I my the SQL statement is correct and then the system can't display it in the Data window.
    Any thought ?

  • Need help for sql statement

    Hi,
    Need help to write sql statement.
    create table t_dt ( dt_start date, dt_end date, amount number);
    insert into t_dt values('1-Jan-10','10-Feb-10',12);
    insert into t_dt values('11-Feb-10','10-Mar-10',10);
    insert into t_dt values('11-Mar-10','20-Apr-10',8);
    insert into t_dt values('21-Apr-10','28-Jun-10',10);
    insert into t_dt values('29-Jun-10','20-Sep-10',10);
    insert into t_dt values('21-Sep-10','10-Oct-10',10);
    insert into t_dt values('11-Oct-10','31-Dec-10',8);
    insert into t_dt values('1-Jan-11','10-Feb-11',8);
    insert into t_dt values('11-Feb-11','10-Mar-11',7);
    insert into t_dt values('11-Mar-11','20-Apr-11',6);
    insert into t_dt values('21-Apr-11','28-Jun-11',6);
    insert into t_dt values('29-Jun-11','20-Sep-11',6);
    insert into t_dt values('21-Sep-11','10-Oct-11',4);
    insert into t_dt values('11-Oct-11','31-Dec-11',8);
    Result should be like below..
    dt_start     dt_end     Amount
    1-Jan-10     10-Feb-10     12
    11-Feb-10     10-Mar-10     10
    11-Mar-10     20-Apr-10     8
    21-Apr-10     10-Oct-10     10
    11-Oct-10     10-Feb-11     8
    11-Feb-11     10-Mar-11     7
    11-Mar-11     20-Sep-11     6
    21-Sep-11     10-Oct-11     4
    11-Oct-11     31-Dec-11     8
    Just to explain the example, take a row with start date as 21-Apr-10 in the above insert statements, since it has the same amount for next two rows (i.e. with start date '29-Jun-10' and '21-Sep-10') these 3 rows should be converted to represent only 1 row in the result and the start date and end date should be changed per the result shown above.
    Thanks.

  • Need help on my SQL statement

    Hello experts,
    I need to write a dynamic sql statement which will enable users to pick the date and the BI system will take them 3 months back. I tried 3 months variables I kept getting SQL error then I tried 90 days. Now it keep showing that there is no data which for sure I know its not trure.
    This is my statement: +"GL Calendar"."Fiscal Date" >=timestampadd(SQL_TSI_DAY,-90, timestamp'@{ABCcost}{2013-05-16 00:00:00}')AND("GL Calendar"."Fiscal Date">=timestamp'@{ABCcost}{2013-05-16 00:00:00}')+
    Anything that Im missing..

    Rayan,
    I am not sure if I am following you, cause we want to enable the user to pick whatever date and then from there they will get 3 months back and the rest of their info. I tried it didn't work, may be I placed at wrong place
    Can you probably copy my statement above and insert in-between.
    thanks,

  • Need help on SQL Statement for UDF

    Hi,
    as I am not so familiar with SQL statements on currently selected values, I urgently need help.
    The scenario looks as follows:
    I have defined two UDFs named Subgroup1 and Subgroup2 which represent the subgroups dependent on my article groups. So for example: When the user selects article group "pianos", he only sees the specific subgroups like "new pianos" and "used pianos" in field "Subgroup1". After he has selected one of these specific values, he sees only the specific sub-subgroups in field "Subgroup2", like "used grand pianos".
    I have defined UDTs for both UDFs. The UDT for field "Subgroup1" has a UDF called "ArticleGroup" which represents the relation to the article group codes. The UDT for field "Subgroup2" has a UDF called "Subgroup1" which represents the relation to the subgroups one level higher.
    The SQL statement for the formatted search in field "Subgroup1" looks as follows:
    SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@B_SUBGROUP1]  T0 WHERE T0.[U_ArticleGroup]  = (SELECT $[OITM.ItmsGrpCod])
    It works fine.
    However, I cannot find the right statement for the formatted search in field "Subgroup2".
    Unfortunately this does NOT WORK:
    SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@B_SUBGROUP2]  T0 WHERE T0.[U_Subgroup1]  = (SELECT $[OITM.U_Subgroup1])
    I tried a lot of others that didn't work either.
    Then I tried the following one:
    SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@B_SUBGROUP2]  T0 WHERE T0.[U_Subgroup1] = (SELECT T1.[Code] FROM [dbo].[@B_SUBGROUP1] T1 WHERE T1.[U_ArticleGroup] = (SELECT $[OITM.ItmsGrpCod]))
    Unfortunately that only works as long as there is only one specific subgroup1 for the selected article group.
    I would be sooooo happy if there is anyone who can tell me the correct statement for my second UDF!
    Thanks so much in advance!!!!

    Please ignore the "http://" in the above statements - it is certainly not part of my SQL.
    Please also ignore the strikes.

    Hello Dear,
    Use the below queries to get the values:
    Item Sub Group on the basis of Item Group
    SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@SUBGROUP]  T0 WHERE T0.[U_GroupCod] =$[OITM.ItmsGrpCod]
    Item Sub Group 1 on the basis of item sub group
    SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@SUBGROUP1]  T0 WHERE T0.[U_SubGrpCod]=(SELECT T0.[Code] FROM [dbo].[@SUBGROUP]  T0 WHERE T0.[Name] =$[OITM.U_ItmsSubgrp])
    Sub group 2 on the basis of sub group 1
    SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@SUBGROUP2]  T0 WHERE T0.[U_SubGrpCod1]=(SELECT T0.[Code] FROM [dbo].[@SUBGROUP1]  T0 WHERE T0.[Name] =$[OITM.U_ItmsSubgrp1])
    this will help you.
    regards,
    Neetu

  • SQL Statement needed for Query Generator

    Dear Experts,
    My view has the following three columns.
    1, Start Date
    2. End Date
    3. Balance.
    I need an SQL statement to write in query generator, which has to check if EndDate is less than the Current date and balance is above zero. If so, it assumes the last date of the job is already over, outstanding materials not yet been returned. Hence it has to return 'Pending'. If EndDate is greater than current date, it means final date for completion of the process is yet to come. So the task is in progress, hence it has to return 'Progress'. If the balance is Zero, all materials connected with the task have been received either as a FG or as Raw Materials. So it has to return, 'Completed'. I need a singe SQL Statement for this.
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Anand

    Dear Anand,
    Try this one:
    CASE balance WHEN 0 THEN 'Completed' ELSE CASE WHEN DATEDIFF(DD, EndDate, GetDate()) >= 0 THEN 'Progress' ELSE 'Pending' END END
    I have assumed you don't have negative balance.  It that is not true, give me the complete case.
    Thanks,
    Gordon
