SQL Used in Answer

Hi Guys,
Is there anyway we can find out SQL used for creation of Answers?
I need to see the original SQL using Physical Column and not the one created through Logical Columns.
Thanks
Saurabh

1. Go to RPD:
Manage > Security > Users Go to the Properties of User (Ex: Administrator..) .. There you can see an option called Logging Level....
2. *(BIInstallDir)\OracleBI\server\Log*

  • Report To Show SQL Used In A Report

    I am creating a set of quality reports using the apex views.
    I would like to create a report to check the sql used in classic reports, but can't seem to find the right view to use.
    If it was a interactive report I would use the SQL_QUERY column in the APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_IR view, but this does not seem to exist for classic reports
    Help appreciated.

    You can use the Data dictionary view APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_REGIONS. There's a field called "REGION_SOURCE" - just filter for the appropriate region type.
    Help appreciated.Really? What about Re: Validate Date and Time? If you want to show genuine appreciation for help given, why not award "correct/helpful" points to posts which helped you solve your problem, as per the forum introduction post:
    >
    * It is considered good etiquette to reward answers with points (as "helpful" - 5 pts - or "correct" - 10pts).
    >
    Having a brief look through your list of recently answered questions, you don't seem to award helpful points, even when you've explicitly saying (paraphrasing) "Thanks for your help". Maybe it's a tipping thing - perhaps you subscribe to the doctrine of Mr. Pink but, hey if it helps you get your question answered and it literally costs you nothing but a few seconds of effort, why not throw us a bone by awarding a point now and then?

  • Run a report in PL/SQL using utl_http.request

    Hi
    I need to run a report in PL/SQL using utl_http.request
    How that can be done ??
    Thank you!

    Okay, backtrack.
    A web server can deliver all kinds of content. From static HTML pages, to XML files and videos and dynamic content. Including reports.
    The communication language (protocol) used to talk to a web server is HTTP.
    UTL_HTTP is an Oracle PL/SQL library that implements the client side of this communication. It allows the developer to write code that acts like a web browser and communicates with a web server.
    Now what do you not understand and cannot use?
    HTTP is not simple and easy. You need to understand the basics of this communication language in order to communicate successfully with the web server. Like knowing the difference between GET and PUT and POST commands, how the URL query string works and so on.
    Once you know that, you can look at how the web server provides reports. How do you authenticate as a web browser with the web reporting system? What URLs do you use to access which reports? How do you pass name-values to the web server as report parameters? What HTTP response formats (MIME types) does the web report server provide? Which one do you plan to use and how do you parse that response into a meaning structured data format?
    If you're thinking it is "easy", think again. Sure, someone here can provide sample code that for example grabs a CSV report file from a web server and (using a pipeline table function), turn that into rows and columns. But that will not teach you the fundamentals you need to know and not equip you with dealing with the problem with your own brains, hands and keyboard.
    PS. In other words, learn to crawl and walk before trying to run. Get to grips with how HTTP works before diving into the deep end of web report integration.

  • Pl/sql using DECODE

    Hello,
    i have question regarding PL/SQL using DECODE when i use following qurey in SQL plus it is working fine but when i try to run in tode it only display value of g.
    everything else is blank........
    so can u plz assist me on that .....
    thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!
    SELECT
    b.g,b.s,
    COUNT(DECODE(a.u,'R',a.rep)) AS R,
    COUNT(DECODE(a.u,'u',a.rep)) AS U,
    COUNT(DECODE(a.u,'C',a.rep))AS C,
    COUNT(DECODE(a.u,'I',a.rep)) AS I,
    COUNT(DECODE(a.u,NULL,a.rep)) AS B
    FROM AREA a, data b
    WHERE a.rep = '454637'
    AND a.rep = b.emp
    GROUP BY b.g,b.s

    Very strange.
    Find out if there are alterations to your SQL*PLUS envirionment. Warren mentioned user/database wierdness; the ALTER SCHEMA and other commands can affect privilges and what objects you can see. Sometimes these commands are buried in LOGIN.SQL and GLOGIN.SQL files (for SQL*PLUS), and more hard to find they can call files buried on a network somewhere.
    Try the query without the DECODE() and see what's in the table without trying to modify the values in both envirionments.

    Oracle supports the standard application protocol SMTP - it does not support a proprietary protocol like that used by Exchange that only works on the Windows operating system. It however provides you with the flexibility to code this yourself.
    If you for example use Microsoft MAPI (Mail Application Programming Interface), you can integrate it with PL/SQL using the external procedure (extproc) feature of Oracle.
    In a nutshell, extproc enables you to create PL/SQL wrappers for public DLL calls. I posted sample code that demonstrates this in {message:id=2271919}. The sample code is for calling a DLL interface on HP-UX, but the concept is identical on Windows.

  • Create Partition tables in PL/SQL using Execute Immediate

    Hi
    I have to create a partiton table in PL/SQL using Execute Immediate. I concat the necessary Create Table syntax into a variable and use Execute Immediate variable name. This gives a error ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement. However if i cut and paste the SQL statement from DBMS_OUTPUT, the table creation goes through without any problem.
    What could be the issue. Has anyone face this before please.
    I am using 10G DB

    Thanks for your reply. It is a big code. I am pasting the part required.
    v_sqlstmtout :='CREATE TABLE a_10(MYDATE DATE NOT NULL,ID NUMBER(14) NOT NULL)';
    v_sqlstmtout := v_sqlstmtout || ' PARTITION BY RANGE (MYDATE) ';
    v_sqlstmtout := v_sqlstmtout || 'SUBPARTITION BY HASH(id) ';
    v_sqlstmtout := v_sqlstmtout || 'SUBPARTITION TEMPLATE(';
    v_sqlstmtout := v_sqlstmtout || 'SUBPARTITION SP1,SUBPARTITION SP2) ';
    v_sqlstmtout := v_sqlstmtout || '(PARTITION mth_dummy VALUES LESS THAN ';
    v_sqlstmtout := v_sqlstmtout || '('||V_SQLSTMT3||')' || v_sqlstmt||')';
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE ''''||v_sqlstmtout||'''';
    variables are substituted through data from different tables.
    The output looks like the following
    CREATE TABLE a_10(MYDATE DATE NOT NULL,ID NUMBER(14) NOT NULL)
    PARTITION BY RANGE (mydate) SUBPARTITION BY HASH(id) SUBPARTITION
    TEMPLATE(SUBPARTITION SP1,SUBPARTITION SP2) (PARTITION mth_dummy VALUES
    LESS THAN ('01-MAY-2006'), PARTITION mth_JAN2007 VALUES LESS THAN
    ('01-FEB-2007'))
    The above is the output from DBMS_OUTPUT. If i run this statement the table is created. Please help..

  • Automated Solution for Exporting SQL used in Crystal Reports

    My company has created over 400 reports that are running on Crystal Reports XI. Due to proposed changes in our database, we occasionally need to review the SQL statements of all 400+ reports to determine if any of them would be impacted by the proposed changes. In order to review the SQL used in these 400+ reports, we have had to open each report manually. We would like to know how we can review the SQL used in the reports without having to manually look at each report. I suspect there is a way to either write a program or use a tool that will export the SQL that is used in all reports. In a similar vain, we would be interested in knowing if there is an automated way to identify table names and fields that are used in each SQL statement.

    I see two directions to go:
    1. Review functionalities of .rpt Inspector
    [http://www.softwareforces.com/Product/ri/pro/3/rptInspector.htm]
    - it allows rpt mass analyses
    2. Post your question to ".Net Development - Crystal Reports" forum to see if it is possible to access required information through custom application

  • Working with Custom SQL Using Descriptor Query Manager Queries

    Hi All,
    I am Working on Descriptor Query Manager Queries
    Configuring Custom SQL Using Java and Workbench
    Using Java I wrote a static method as in the code given below.
    public static void insertEmployee(ClassDescriptor descriptor){
    descriptor.getQueryManager().setInsertSQLString(
    "insert into EMPLOYEE (EMP_ID, EMP_NAME, EMP_JOB, SAL, DEPTNO) values (#EMP_ID, #EMP_NAME, #EMP_JOB, #SAL, #DEPTNO)"
    I wrote a insert SQL Query in the custom SQL tab of the Toplink workbench .
    Using java and Using Toplink Workbench I had a problem how to call this insert query in the sessionEJBBean .
    Can any one suggest me in this regard.
    Thanks in advance
    regards,
    Satish

    What is the problem you are experiencing?
    Normally you can just execute the query by calling
    'executeQuery(queryName, domainclass) on the session.
    See also
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/toplink/
    doc/10131/main/_html/qrybas003.htm#BCFIBGGJ
    Just out of curiosity: why do you need a custom SQL
    to insert something? Can't you use persist()?
    regards,
    LonnekeOr even UnitOfWork ? Why go down the route of using custom inserts to insert objects unless you have some business logic that Toplink's UnitOfWork API cannot provide ?

  • Any online guides to the flavour of SQL used in Web Intelligence?

    Hi,
    I'm new to Web Intelligence and have just seen you can edit the SQL in "SQL Viewer" window.
    My background is in Microsoft SQL (t-sql) so am very competent in this flavour of SQL.
    However, I'm struggling to find a guide to the flavour of SQL used in Web Intelligence.
    Does anyone know any good online resources for the complete SQL language it uses?
    For example, I'm keen to use "Case When" logic that I know well from Microsoft but I can't seem to get it to work here.
    Thanks, Bill

    the "flavor" of SQl depends on the DB against which a particular Universe is created.
    Based on the Universe connection particular SQL definitions will be used.
    If your Webi report is against MS SQL server, then SQL server type SQL is used. If it's ORACLE - it'll be oracle sql....

  • Can we rollback catcpu.sql using flashback database?

    Hello all,
    Can we use FLASHBACK DATABASE to roll back the changes made by the catcpu.sql/catpatch.sql used for upgradation/patching? [ I am aware that oracle provides rollback sql's but just curious. ]
    TIA,
    JJ

    Keep in mind, catpatch is only the second part of the patching process, before that you already patched the software. If you want to have a complete rollback, follow the instructions in the readme file.

    how will i create physical directory in oracle pl/sql using java

    This is, I suspect, related to Re: how will i overcome from this error java.io.IOException. Quite why you felt the need to have two partial threads instead of one thread with a complete set of information is beyond me. Perhaps this muddled thinking is indicative....
    Anyway, if I was looking to do this particular task in Java I would look to using the specific command File.mkdir() rather than trying to use a generic exec approach.

  • Using OBI answers report as source in BIP report

    All,
    I am creating a BIP report using OBI answers request as source. I defined the data set, created RTF template from MS word and uploaded the same into BIP.
    I am using dashboard prompts for this reports. I have 2 issues with this.
    1. When I embed the BIP report in the dashboard along with BI answers report, the BIP report is not retrieving data when different metrics are selected in the prompts. for ex: grams and Kgs.
    The logic to apply the factoring on data is already implemented in OBI. When i change the dashboard prompt, it is changing the data in BI answers report and not in BIP report. I am wondering why this might be happening. If you have any thought please share.
    2. The BI report has some saved filters applied which uses some presentation variables in the filters. But those seem to be not effecting in BIP report. Please suggest any reasons and fix for these.
    If any one have idea, please suggest.
    Many thanks in advance.

    The BI answers request contains saved filters, in which some filters have presentation variable and a default value set for the same. we are using this as source for the BIP report data set.
    In this case the answers request is working correctly based on the prompt value selected where as the BIPub report is not working. The BIP report is working for only the default value. If we change the prompt for that parameter, it is showing no rows.
    How BIP takes care of such answers request based reports?
