Sqlserver2005 DB13 issues

Just finished my installation basing on :ECC500,win2003,sqlserver2005,several issues need to discuss with you:) :
   1) update kernel failed ; download latest kernel of sqlserver and copy to exe/run, and restart,but the files in RUN reback ,SM51 's display old level.
   2) Using db13 to run checkdb failed; error info like this :
          Unable to start execution of step 1 (reason: The job step contains one or more tokens. For SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 1 or later, all job steps with tokens must be updated with a macro before the job can run.). The step failed.
3) several times one day maybe, one backgroud process ,like "CL_SQL*" ,will be found in SM50 ,hundreds seconds later ,this process finished. And during this time ,our responsible time(dialog.....) longer ,and system slower.
4) How to backup in db13 to hard disk? in sqlserver, how to configue and backup to remote hard disk ,eg:FTP server?

Some times it will just stay red even though in SQL it reported a success.
It wont happen.Once it turned to red means, its already failed.No need to expect it will turn in to green.
Check the log once again.Double click that entry (red) you will get the log.
While backup is running, you can observe light orenge at your schedule date.If that backup success it will turn in to green and if that backup fails it become red.

I am experiencing issues with DB13.
In Calendar Scheduled backup Jobs showing red when job is running and not dark blue, job does go green when finished. Some times it will just stay red even though in SQL it reported a success.

Did any update to BRTOOLS, kernel?
Try running saproot.sh and then run the check DB,etc..

Also check the permissions of sidadm user, it should have dba group assigned to it.
Like I said in my first post - Its a Windows system.
What permissions do I check in Windows?
Looks like you have some problem with the permissions. Are you logged in as ,sid>adm ?
I have this error only in DB13.
From OS level brconnect works fine.

Issues with Reorg on a tablespace from DB13

Hello,
System: SAP DB2 on z/OS
When we schedule 'Reorg on one R/3 tablespace' in DB13 for more than 1 tablespace with 5 minute (Say 1st job scheduled at 7:00 and 2nd at 7:05) interval the reorg fails for the second job with the following error.
DSNU180I -XXXA DSNUGUCC - UTILITY IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE REORG TABLESPACE UTILITY
UTILID = PA002631, OBJECT = SY00MAP.QX000001
The object in contention is the temporary QT mapping tables created for online reorg.
The above QX000001 indexspace is used for the first reorg job (07:00) and the same QX000001 ndexspace is picked for the second reorg job (07:05) .
Is there a way to prevent this ?
This issue exists in SAP 6.20 and 7.00 systems

this means that you had a utility left out there in stopped status. this error probably occurred due to a previous utility that did not complete or failed and was not terminated.

but i am able to take backup on tape through SQL Server management studio.
Do we have to do some steps before scheduling backup through DB13 ?

No i have not provide any speacial permission to user SAPServiceDEV by default this user is member of : SAP_DEV_GlobalAdmin , SAP_DEV_LocalAdmin , SAP_LocalAdmin , User group.
Which permission i have to assign to this user?

Issue with check optimiser statistics in DB13

We have scheduled Check Optimiser statistics and update optimiser statistics in our development server through DB13. But after execution of the action it is showing in red and no action log could be obtained. How to obtain the Action Log for both the Action and the shows the error 'SCHDEULING FAILED'?

DB12&DB13 access issue

when user executes DB12, DB13 T-code , user is getting error "you are not authorised to execute transaction". but when he executed SU53 tcode getting report is showing object "S_ADMI_FCD" with value DBA in BI system. what could be the reason the report is showing this because when user is not authorisated to execute any T-code, then SU53 report should show object S_Tcode with value (T-code name). could any one you suggest on this. thanks in advance.
please note that user already has These T-code access with different values maintained in object S_ADMI_FCD.

Please check your SU24 setting for DB12 and DB13. Is there a TSTCA check for Auth Object S_ADMI_FCD? If yes, then this Auth Object is mandatory for these two t-codes to execute at the first place even though these two t-codes are available in S_TCODE.

Check the owner for BRBACKUP, BRARCHIVE, and BRCONNECT in kernel,
these files should be with SIDADM, if not change the owner to SIDADM and rerun the update stats.

Performance Issue when setting connection information

I am writing a Winforms application using VB.NET
I have developed a method that sets the Crystal Reports Connection.
This method first grabs the connection string from the config file creates a Crystal Reports ConnectionInfo object.
The following code then takes over 5 seconds to run:

However, when the application is reloaded the same slow times re-occur.
There are not many different tables in my report generally 3 or less. Only 1 table in this case.
This is currently in test and VS2008 and SQLServer2005 are both running locally. The same issue does occur in the QA environment as well, where the application is run on the client and the database is on a server on the same LAN.
So my question is, can I improve the speed of this portion of code? Why does it take so long to set the report connection information? Am I doing connections to the report incorrectly?

This is an expected behavior. First time the code is run, the app loads all the CR runtime; assemblies, dlls, COM dlls, etc., etc. Once these are in memory, the performance improves significantly. When i opened the t-code DB13 i saw that this job "Mark tables requiring statistics update" is cancelled.

I couldn't find any logs in SM21 of that time also no dumps in ST22.
Possible reason for this error:
I have scheduled the job Check database structure (only tables) at some other time and deleted the earlier job which was scheduled during the bussiness hours which caused performance problem.
So to avoid performance issue i scheduled this job in the mid night by cancelling the old job which was scheduled during the bussiness hours.
And from the next day i could see this error in DB13.
Rest all the backups are running fine but the only job getting cancelled is for "Mark tables requiring statistics update"
Could anyone tell me what should i do to get rid of this error?
Can i schedule this "Mark tables requiring statistics update" again by deleting the old one?

Thanks for your response.
Every alternate day we used to have performance issue at 19:00hrs.
Then when i checked what is causing this problem, i discovered that there was a backup "Check Database Structure (tables only)" scheduled at this time and it was mentioned that this backup may cause performance issue.
Then i changed "Check Database Structure (tables only)" the time of this backup to 03:00hrs.
The next day when i checked DB13 i found that one of the backups failed.
i.e. "Mark Tables Requiring Statistics Update"
Then i checked the log which i posted earlier with the error: "Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE"
I posted this error here and then i tried to delete the jobs scheduled i.e. "Mark Tables Requiring Statistics Update" and then re-schedule it at the same time and interval.
And then it started working fine.
So i just got curious to know the cause of the failure of that job.

P.S There is one more thing which i would like to say which is not related to the above issue, and m sorry to discuss this in this thread.
I found a few Bottlenecks in ST04 with Medium and High priority.
Medium: Selects and fetches selectivity 0.53%: 122569 selects and fetches, 413376906 rows read, 2194738 rows qualified.
High: 108771 primary key range accesses, selectivity 0.19%: 402696322 rows read, 763935 rows qualified.
There are a lot these.
I would really appreciate if you tell me what is the cause for these Bottlenecks and how to resolve.

not sure if the recommendations given will address this issue.
You are getting this error:
BR0301E SQL error -1017 at location BrDbConnect-2, SQL statement:

ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
the log file indicates:
> No application server found on database host - rsh/gateway will be used
This indicated that the user that is connecting from the AS to the DB server is not properly configured to perform the DB tasks on it.
So, first question would be to know if you have configured a gateway on the DB server and how, or if you are using remote shell.
Second question, you can do backups on the DB server.

How did you run exactly the backup job (what is the exact command line, what is the exact OS user that executed it)?
What is the OS of the DB server?
I have reread your post, your OS is windows therefore you fall in the "typical" error in Windows.
You have executed your backup as <sid>ADM and it works. Unfortunatelly, in windows, SAP is exectuted by SAPSERVICE<sid>, and this is the user who should be connecting to your DB server, and this is the user who cannot execute the backup.
The fact that you can run the backup with <sid>ADM in Windows does not means that you have SAPService<sid> properly configured.
For the error (see before) I think your ops$ user for this user is not properly configured in the DB server. take a look at the note mentioned by KT and pay attention to the SAPSERVICE<sid> configuration

As per the [SAP note 914177 - File system reiserfs Oracle parameter filesystemio_options|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=914177] this issue is caused by the file system that is used and by the init.ora parameter filesystemio_options = setall.
Have a look at that note.

Tape initialization error at first time in DB13

first time While initializing tapes in DB13 , we are getting
error "<b>0003 Error during Tape initialization</b>".At OS ( HP-UX / Oracle), SAP R/3 4.72Enterprise.
level backup device initialized.I have enclosed logs ,please suggestto resolve this issue.
We ahve tape drive DLT 40/80GB.Can any one help me how to initialize the tape at first time scheduling backup.
