SRM stock item catalog / reservation

Hi gurus,
We are investigating SRM in a ext classic scenario.  We saw that SRM does not support creating MM reservation for parts kept in stock.  For item kept in stock as per SRM definition we must have an internal catalog to reflect these parts as being stored internally.
Is there an automated way in SRM to maintain this catalog with new material being created in MM.?
Is there a way to create a reservation to MM from SRM in a Extended classic scenario for items that we keep in stock (in the internal catalog)?
regards,
Daniel

  • Stock items cataloging

    dear all,
we are implementing the SAP ERP  / netwever ECC 6.0 and i want to know if we can cataloging our stock items with the compenent of product catalog or with the B2B precuremnt catalog .
    1.     Shall we buy other system for cataloging our stock items or just use the product catalog component if the ERP  and netwever ecc6.0 has it?
    2.     Shall we ask the company which will implement the SAP system to include  the stock item cataloging during the implementation
    please advice
your can email to [email protected]

    HI,
       U can Use  individual/coll.- 2
thats enough, strategy is only for header material
individual/coll. set is required for MTO strategy only, for MTS, it is not required.
IF U select strategy 20 with individual/coll.- 1, System will create a PR it won't consider stock.
IF U select strategy 20 with individual/coll.- 2, System will  check the material is available in stock, if  stock is not  available, system will create a PR .

  • Need to create stock item reservation with account assignment

    Hi Gurus,
we are working on EBP 4.0 , extended classic scenario . We have a scenario where we want to create a shopping cart for stock item reservation with account assignment as work order.
but when we try to do it , we are getting following error message
"Unable to create stock reservation for this account assignment."
Any ideas how this can be resolved?
    Regards,
    Mangesh

    Hi Mangesh,
In reference to the info. you have provided, the issue seems to be with the account assignment category than anything else. What do you mean by Account assignment as work order? Need some clarity in this statement, to help you in this regard.
You can create a cost center (account assignment) P.O and can mention the storage location. The stock will be updated in the storage location where as the FI document will be posted against the cost center.

  • MB25- Hold/ allocated items on reservation list is not reflected on stock

    Hello,
We have reservations on MB25. On the list we see the material qty reserve. But on mm02 or mmbe the materials reserved are not accounted for and also we do not get warning about issuing materials that are already reserved
For example we have a 10 items of "A" in Stock. We reserve 5 "A" items for later use, but another request may occur and we  issue 8 "A" items now. We do not get a warning that  about the reserved items and we will be able to issue our the 8 "A" items.
Is there a way to resolve this issue of getting a warning if materials are issued even though reserved and to see the reserved items on MM02/ MMBE.
Right now we are just using MB25 more as a flag indicator that items are reserved.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Dear,
Check in that reservation did Movement allowed check box checked or not through MB22 ???
This will restrict the reserved quantity like restrict issue.

  • SRM validate the Catalog Item when copying from old templates

Do SRM validate the Catalog Item when copying from old templates and previous shopping carts? Is this standard functionality?
    Thanks,
    Rajan

    Continuation to my previous post:
My findings based on the analysis I did. Might help people who are looking for similar info.
As Jason mentioned, the Subroutine name is CATALOG_CONTENT_VALIDATE_GET
This is under package BBP_SC --> Function Group: BBP_SC_APP
After making a webservice call to get catalog details, the mapping is done as below.
      IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
        READ TABLE lt_enriched_item INDEX 1.
        IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
          ls_item_validate-price      = lt_enriched_item-price.
          ls_item_validate-currency   = lt_enriched_item-currency.
          ls_item_validate-price_unit = lt_enriched_item-price_unit.
          ls_item_validate-deliv_date = lt_enriched_item-deliv_date.
          ls_item_validate-leadtime   = lt_enriched_item-leadtime.
          ls_item_validate-unit       = lt_enriched_item-unit.
        ELSE.
          lv_validate_item_exception = gc_yes.
        ENDIF.
      ELSE.
        lv_validate_item_exception = gc_yes.
      ENDIF.
If you go one level deeper into subroutine  PERFORM sc_itm_copy_to_basket, you can see that following validations are performed.
If EITHER price, currency or price unit changes, we get the message u201C&: Price changed due to catalog validationu201D
If UOM changes, we get the message u201C&: Unit of measure changed in catalog; item not transferredu201D
When Delivery date or lead time changes, no message is raised but the new values are copied.
In a nut shell, the fields that are considered for validation are Price, Currency, Price Unit, UOM, Delivery date, Lead Time.

  • Automatic Purchase Requestition creation for item category "L" (Stock Item)

    Hi All,
    I have a query,
When components are assigned to a maintenance order whose item category is "L" (Stock Item).
As soon as components are assigned a reservation number is generated by the system immediately.
    Now my requirement is,
for an item category which is "L" (Stock item), while I am saving / releasing the order, system should do availability check and based on the qty available it should automatically generate reservation (in case of full qty is available) or a purchase requisitions ( in case of non availability).
Is this feasible? If so kindly let me know how it can be done.
    Currently in my case,
i am getting a reservation number for an an item whose item category is "L" but the stock qty is "zero". System should have ideally generated a purchase requisitions number for such a case because of actual available qty being "zero"
Is there any setting called "reservation time" so that after checking the availability of that item system decided whether a reservation number should be generated or a purchase requisition number?
    Thanks and with best regards
    Kannan J

    Hi Thyagarajan,
I wud like to share with you  a content of SAP documentation which is as follows:
"You can plan materials that are required to execute the task for each operation in the maintenance order. The materials can be bill of material components for the reference object or freely assigned material.
<u>The materials that you plan for the maintenance order will be reserved in the warehouse, if they are kept in stock. You can set the reservation time in your system using the customizing function. In customizing, it is decided for each order type, whether the system should make the material reservation effective or generate the purchase requisition immediately or only when the order is released.</u>
An availability check can be called up when components are assigned in the order.
An automatic availability check is performed when the order is released. The order can also be released if there is no availability.
A material provision list and material withdrawal slips can be printed together with the order papers.
Planned goods issues are entered with reference to the reservation, such as reservation number, unplanned goods issues with reference to the order number.
The goods issues entered appear in the document flow of the order."
Now with this, is there a way out to resolve the issue?
    Best Regards
    Kannan J

  • Non stock item requisition from the order

    Dear all,
Material is not available in stores,i have enter the item category as N in the maintenance order ,system created the Purchase requisition & reservation of same material which will be further converted to Purchase order.
When material goods inward from the store that material automatically issued against that reservation,
is it standerd process of SAP?
And now when i am checking in IW13, against same reservation system shows 'no material withdrawn'
And in the order withdrawn quantity & final issue tick mark is activated.
    what may the problem?

    Dear Shahanawaz,
When you assign the item category "N" to component in component tab view, Normally PR is generated & When you assign the item category "L" to component in component tab view, Normally Reservation is genereted.
Against reservation we directly issue the material as it is already available in Store. But for Non stock items we need to convert PR to PO. After receipt of the material & Making GR that material directly issued to order & not going to Store. This is standard process. Also you can view Material availability status indicator as the process progress as PR to PO conversion & As the GR is made.

  • Stock and NON-Stock Items procurement

    Hi,
Please let me know why classic scenario cannot be used fpor Stock items and Extended classic can be used for both stock and non-stock items.
    What is the exact difference.
    Regards,

    Hi Sanjeev,
    Thanks for the reply.
But if PR is transferred to SRM from MM and classic scenario is used and the resultant PO is created in MM then will transfer the PR with/without account assignment.
    Pls let me know.
    Thanks,

Setting in OPL8 for field Reservation/Purch.Req. can be set as 1 but will it effect reservations for other stock materials i,e. item category L in BoM?

  • XSRF error when returning to SRM from external catalog

    Hello,
We recently applied support package stack 19 to our SRM 5.0 development system, and after doing so found that some of our configured catalogs began producing an XSRF error when attempting to populate the SRM shopping cart with items from the catalog. The symptoms encountered are practically identical with those described in Note 1615697 ("Return to SRM application from Catalogs result in Dump"). This error did not occur prior to applying support packages.
In an effort to resolve the problem, we applied the following Notes that described the same or similar symptoms:
1551982: Cross Site Request Forgery Protection for stateless BSP
1596088: frequent dumps in ITS services
    1607780: Update #5 to security note 1522651
1613427: ITS Services lead to XSRF Dumps
1615697: Return to SRM application from Catalogs result in Dump
1619323: Frequent Dump issue in ITS
1621525: Dump in Vendor list service
1629031: BBP_BACKGROUND_APPROVAL service results in dump
1632110: Quotation search help fields results in a Dump
1634612: Frequent Dump issue in ITS in Search screens
1650207: BBP_POC service results in XSRF dump
    1658516: Applets sheitern an XSRF-Schutz (COOKIE_NOT_FOUND)
1675491: ITS: CALL BROWSER and termination of a session
This did result in some of our catalogs working that previously were dumping, but we are still having issues with at least two and possibly other catalogs. These are external vendor catalogs using the OCI interface.
The error occurs at the time of transmitting items from the catalog back into the SRM shopping cart. The catalog screen is replaced with an error screen with the messages "The URL https://<<our SRM dev system>>:/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbpsc03/ was not called due to an error" and "A:ITS_P:019 XSRF no sec_sesstoken". The shopping cart in the SRM system is lost after this error occurs. No short dump is recorded, but the SM21 system log records the ITS_P 019 error against tcode BBPSC03, program SAPLBBP_SC_UI_ITS.
Most of our catalogs, internal and external, are fine after applying the Notes. Just two external vendor catalogs still exhibit this error.
I experimented with adding a new parameter after the Return URL in the catalog configuration in SPRO with name = ~SAP_SESSTOKEN, value = `SAP_SESSTOKEN`, and type = SAP Field, based upon Note 1481392, but this did not make any change in the behavior.
I have patched the kernel (7.00) to pl335 (pl310 is delivered with sps19).
Anyone else having this sort of issue?
    Best regards,
    Matt

  • Automatic PR creation for stock items (Category - L)

    Hi All,
    My requirement is as follows:
When I create PM orders for stock item, system generates a reservation number.
But the actual qty is sytem for such items are less than planned qty or NIL qty.
How to create PR's for such items automatically by system ?
Is MRP run required to be activated for such items (i.e: maintenance of MRP views in material master) or any other way to do it for stock items (L) ?
If so, what all fields need to be filled in material master?
Is there a way for doing MRP run only for material type ERSA (spare parts) or only against reservation numbers created through maintenance orders or against MRP controller?
    Kindly post your valuable feedback.
Thanks in advance and best regards.
    Kannan J

    Hi,
For automatic p.o creation, you can use reorder point.
In material master mrp1 view, use mrp type VB, reorder level ex. 50 pc.
Maintain lot size HB, maintain max stock level 100 pc.
When the requirement comes it will consume from stock. If the stock goes below reorder ponit(50), it will create planning file entry.
When you run mrp (MD01), it will automatically create p.o.
But without running mrp, system can not create p.o
With that you can maintain your stock.
    Hope it will help.

  • Tools & spares need to change as non stock items..

    Dear All,
My client wants to make spares and tools as non stock items..previously they were stock items and they are around 2000
materials so instead of creating new materials with new material type i have decided to change material types of existing materials using MMAM..
Please tell me is this a right process to do?what will be the effect of this?
What is a correct procedure for this?
    Thanks,
    Naren

    Hi,
    You check for the prerequisites
    Prerequisites
1 .If you use the material ledger, the material must be settled in it.
    2. If the old material type did not require you to specify a price control (for example, standard price or moving average price) for the material, the new material type must not be configured such that it allows only standard price as the price control.
    3. If the material has been maintained from the Production Resources/Tools view, this view must also be allowed for the new material type.
    4. .If the material is not a configurable material, the new material type must not be allowed only for configurable materials.
    5. In Customizing for the Material Master (in Define Attributes of Material Types), the following indicators must have the same setting for the old material type and for the new material type:
    Material for process indicator
    Manufacturer part indicator
    6. If inspection plans are required for quality management inspection of the material, they must be allowed for the new material type.
    7. The Material type ID indicator (presently used only in Retail) must be the same for the old material type and for the new material type.
If the material is already in stock, or if reservations or purchasing documents exist for it, the following conditions must also be met:
    1. . The stock values of the material of the new material type must be updated in the same G/L account as the stock values of the material of the old material type.
    2. Quantities and values of the material of the new material type must be updated in exactly the same way in all plants as quantities and values of the material of the old material type.
    3. If there is a transfer requirement for the material and if quants of the material exist, the new material type must also allow the material data to be maintained from the Warehouse Management view.
If the material, whose material type you want to change, was handled in batches and if, due to the maintenance statuses of the new material type, the material can no longer be handled in batches, although batches still exist, you cannot change the material type.

  • PR and PO should be display in IWBK report for stock item.

    Hi Exterts,
Our client requirement is to display PR and PO number in IWBK report for stock item as well.
I know PR and PO can be display in IWBK report for non-stock item but how we can display PR and PO for stock item,as PR is generated through MRP for stock item.
Please share your ideas on this.
    Regards
    Vishu

    Vishu,
In typical MRP settings you "procure to stock" not "procure to order".
This means that there is no direct link between the PM/CS orders and any PR/POs created via MRP.
Subsequently you will not be able to show this data in IWBK.
However, we are currently designing a customer-specific report similar to IWBK that also counts the number of open POs for a given material on a PM/CS work order. The user can then navigate to ME2M (PO list) or MD04 (stock requirements list) to get further details.

  • Sales order line for Non Stock items progressed to Closed status, need to be Cancelled.

    Hi,
First time posting to this community, I hope someone can help.
Currently we have a setup where non stock items are being added to sales order lines (charges, etc.).
These lines are being progressed through to Closed status automatically.
Users are reporting that they have entered the line in error and would like to change the status of the line to Cancelled.
We are unable to return the material (RMA) as it is non stockable/transactable etc.
Current workaround is to adjust the stock and make finance aware so that the line does not get invoiced.
However, the system still shows that the line is closed (i.e. provided to customer) which is not correct.
Is there any way of getting the line to a status of cancelled?
Your help is very much appreciated.
    Regards
    Tim

    Hi Arif,
Many thanks for the warm welcome.
I'm thinking the only course of action I have for future, is to make the items stockable/transactable/returnable such that an RMA can be performed if added in error.
We can put a large qty into stock at zero value.
Thanks for your help in any case.

  • Variable size item Vs Stock item

    Hi Experts,
I have a doubt regarding the use of variable size item over standard stock item. I will give an example as under.
I have an item called cable which is to be added to a header material. This cable will be used in many header materials. I tried using variable size item as an item category and given the following parameters
    Size 1 as 5 M(UOM)
    Formula (L1)
    Number (1) ST
System calculates the value as 5 M for qty var sz item
In the item over view screen, quantity against the material 1 ST
My query is instead of giving the qty as 5 M and use a formula, what if i directly give the item as stock item "L" and directly define the qty as 5M. If there is no difference between the above, why should we use the variable size item? instead we can directly calculate and give the qty for the item right. Kindly clarify the application of variable size item over standard stock item category.
In both the cases I will be having one material code in the system and the qty will be changed in the respective BOM of two different header materials.
    Regards,
    Sridharan M

    Hi
In addition to the stock keeping unit you can provide the details like length, width and thickness, say for example if you want to fabricate a metal part. You may need length width and thickness of the plate to be used for fabrication. This details you will be entering in the variable size items and using the formual you can calculate the required quantity in KG.
This kind of variable size items you need not calcualte the weight of the material you just need to enter the sizes as per the drawing as you prepare the BOM.
This varies with respect to size.... Variable Size Items
