SRM7 - eSOA service documentation

Hi all gurus,
we're using SRM7 on our testing system and we enabled distribution of contracts to the backend test system using the new eSOA technology. I'm completely new to this kind of procedure; we've seen that the contract distributed are definitely wrong on the backend (e.g. service hierarchies are flattened, service lines have been "locked", and so on) and looking on the SRM system in sxi_monitor tx I can easily check that the XML itself is not correct.
Here are the questions:
- where can I get detailed documentation about this new service, from beginning to the end (SRM creation of XML -> XML sending -> backend receiving -> BAPI ? (I suppose) to create the document) of the process?
- specifically, what's the part of code (FM, methods) in which is defined how to convert the SRM document into an XML file? This should be the point in out task, since it seems that contracts are badly converted into the XML message...
Thanks everyone for the hints and suggestions you might give
EDIT: the problem seems to be related to contracts with service hierarchy... is there feature not supported by standard actually by now? Is there any workaround available? Thanks again

Hi Matteo,
Did u get any documents for ur problem (Creation of XML messages in SRM). I would be greatful if u could share those with me.
Even I am looking for the same as we wish to configure service procurement using ESOA.
Pl let me know if u have the documents for ESOA.

Nikhil

  • SRM 7.01 Backend Contracts creation with XI/PI ESOA Service

    Hello, we are implementing SRM 7.01 PPS with Extended Classic Scenario. We need to create contracts backend contracts ( ECC) from RFX RESPONSE at SRM. As we have ECC 6.0 EHP 5 we have to use Esoa services. The problem is that we have set up PI but no contract is created at ECC ( not even in SRM) when we pressed button "  create contracts" from rfx response even thought the message at SRM is " contracts XXXXXX created" I think we are missing some customizing in ECC.
    We have already implemented badi BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS
    I read note 1268821 who explains that we have to activate business function LOG_MM_P2PSE_1 in ECC but I think this only apply for "CENTRAL CONTRACTS" and we dont want to use central contracts. We just want to creates contracts at ECC from rfx response in SRM. I couldn´t find any documentation about this, just for Central Contracts or backend contracts creation (through idocs) . Any idea?
    Thanks in advance for your help!
    Best Regards
    Liam

    The first interface that try to get out from SRM was " PurchasingContractERPRequest_Out_V1", thus based on this interface we made the configuration on PI. So, after pressing button " create contract" on srm if we execute tx SXI_MONITOR in SRM we found the interface " PurchasingContractERPRequest_Out_V1" and in the backend system ( ECC) at tv SXI_MONITOR we found interface PurchasingContractERPRequest_In_V1 for this contract with black and white flag ( processed successfully) but no contract created in ECC not even SRM.
    Anyway we have checked that inbound proxy  is executed but we dont see any contract created
    Is this the right Interface? We are missing something?
    Best regads and thanks again for your help!

  • Can data be loaded in BPC via eSOA Services?

    Can data be loaded in BPC via eSOA Services? If so, how?

    Data can be loaded in BPC via eSOA Services.
    To explain how to do that you first should have the public interface which can be provided on request by support(help desk)
    You will see all the public interfaces which can be called from application server and you will be able to see some functions from data manager.

  • Jdeveloper Web Services Documentation

    hi , i'm developing web services using jdeveloper 10g , these web services are an application modules web services , i'm writting a full java documentation for the methods in my application modules classes , when i generate the web service , the methods "service" documentation is not included in the generated wsdl file ,
    how i can show this documentation in the wsdl file , to make it easier for those whose viewing the web page for that service to see a clead description of the service ????

    Hi,
    any news on this since last year? Or any other solutions to do it automatically?
    It would be essential to have the WSDL documented by automatic generation from javadoc or even from PL/SQL comments when using PL/SQL web services.
    At least / besides, a tool/dialog in JDeveloper would be nice which substitutes manually inserting a lot of documentation tags.

  • MDM 5.5 SP04 Java API and Web Service Documentation

    Is there documentation available that reflects the SP04 changes to the Java API, and the web services that are now available?
    As of this morning, service marketplace contained spotty SP04 docs.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

    Mike,
    A cookbook would be wonderful (I think our developers would throw a party)!
    An updated object model (as a preface to the user guide) for the legacy API (MDM4J.jar) AND the new "rebranded" API (mdm-*.jar) would also work.
    I've been reduced to comparing the SP3 & SP4 javadocs
    One fun approach that appears to be working for us, is to model each process using the DataManager, and try to duplicate that exactly via the corresponding API objects (e.g. the simple Connect-Find Table-Search Table-View Result Set-View Record-CheckOut/Upsert/Validate/CheckIn dance).  New features in the DataManager reveal themselves a little more readily
    Good luck,

  • Best Practices for JMS Service Documentation

    Our software consists of a variety of JMS producers and consumers used to transform and transmit business to business messages on a large scale.
    The service nodes do a variety of things, and we've had trouble over the years ensuring every queue-based service clearly identifies the parameters and payload it accepts, so that everyone from programmers to system administrators can easily see what services are available and how they are to be used.
    Some have advocated always adding a web service in front of each message-based service to guarantee interface contracts are all well publicized. I think there are reasons to choose web services and reasons to choose message-based services, and am not convinced this is the right answer to address limitations in expressing the design contract for a message-based service. That said, I really like what we've been able to do with self-documenting web services based on annotations, and wonder if there's a conceptual equivalent in message-based software.
    What are your best practices for ensuring your message-based services are as self-documenting as your modern web service?
    Thanks in advance for your advice!

  • Where is the "Push" service documentation.

    Does anyone know where to find documentation about the Apple "fix" to the background application restriction with a push service, mention here:
    http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/08/06/09/appletackles_iphone_background_app_limits_with_pushservice.html
    Thanks in advance.

    Ouch this hurts !
    So at this point there is no way to create an application that changes the icon (a la default Calendar application) based on information retrieved from the network every so often right?
    No background services allowed, and no push notification service.
    Is this correct?
    Any one know what "in the future" means?

  • Web Service documentation for all Web Services

    Hi,
    In March there was a documentation released named "Shop Floor web service field guide".
    Unfortunately this only documents a few of the available Web-Services.
    I would like to know where I can find:
    1) Documentation for other web-services that were part of previous DataExchange XML.
        Like BomProcessingInBinding, ItemProcessingInBinding.
    2) Updated document for "Shop Floor web service field guide" since I only have the first version. Or information
         if there has been no updating. Can't seem to find this document when searching in SAP Support Portal.

  • Discoverer web services documentation

    Hi again,
    is there any documentation we can read on using discoverer's web services?
    Patch 5648158 by the way.
    I'm trying to use them but some variables don't make since. For example:
    <sKey xmlns:ns1="http://oracle.discoverer.applications.ws/IWsi.xsd"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xsi:type="ns1:oracle_discoverer_applications_ws_model_bean_SessionKey">
    <key xsi:type="xsd:string">String Value</key>
    </sKey>
    Where do I find the session key?
    Also:
    <SSOUsername xsi:type="ns1:oracle_discoverer_applications_ws_model_bean_SSOUsername">
    <user xsi:type="xsd:string">String Value</user>
    </SSOUsername>
    <guid xsi:type="ns1:oracle_discoverer_applications_ws_model_bean_GUID">
    <id xsi:type="xsd:string">String Value</id>
    </guid>
    The username is the one I created when I configured the web services as per the documentation? Where do I find the guid?
    Thanks

    So it sounds like you have already done the WSI setup for Discoverer because you get the list of services - right?
    You're supposed to integrate the web services with an SSO user, which ideally would be the same userid you used when you set up the web services. When you do something like this:
    http://myserver.mydomain.com:7778/discoverer/wsi
    you should get prompted for your web services user. That is not SSO and you need to set up one of those too. Having enabled an SSO user, Discoverer demands that there be at least one Public connection against which some workbooks have been made available.
    You cannot make the web services work unless you are running a full-blown application server, complete with SSO enabled for Discoverer with at least one Public connection. As far as I know, Private connections cannot be used, neither can direct logins.
    If the above login works and you sucecssfuly authenticate the next thing you should see is a screen entitled wsi endpoint with a listing of the available services, such as getWorksheetList, login, getWorkbook and so on.
    I will presume you are getting this far.
    When you click on, for example, login, you should see something like this:
    <aUserCredential xmlns:ns1="http://oracle.discoverer.applications.ws/IWsi.xsd"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xsi:type="ns1:oracle_discoverer_applications_ws_model_bean_UserCredential">
    <SSOUsername xsi:type="ns1:oracle_discoverer_applications_ws_model_bean_SSOUsername">
    <user xsi:type="xsd:string">String Value</user>
    </SSOUsername>
    <guid xsi:type="ns1:oracle_discoverer_applications_ws_model_bean_GUID">
    <id xsi:type="xsd:string">String Value</id>
    </guid>
    The one above is from my own installation which as you can see also has the references that you mentioned:
    http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema and GUID
    Mine is integrated with BI Publisher and so BI Publisher is providing the information that is needed to then successfully log on. I am not sure exactly what values are being passed to the parameters because these happen behind the scenes.
    Best wishes
    Michael
