SSL control user navigation HELP !!! - SOLVED
Hello Community. I have a ADF-BC/ADF Faces hosting in a OAS 10g with SSL Geo-Trust certificate, the application and the ssl it works fine.
I have security sectors in the application with SSL but the users can change the url https to http shutdown ssl security, how can controll this in the pages to when the user type http the page or the application redirected to the same page but in https.

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
Paste into the window of another application.
Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start Time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Failing to take control of navigation

Im trying to take control of the navigation. Im using MyFaces.
let me explain:
I wish to have my own piece of code to parse the request URI and control the navigation to the next JSF page.
This functionality is desired for accomplishing a permalinks scheme of some sort.
For example
The link root/yuval/yuvals_stuff should cause the following to happen:
- I parse the request with a servlet filter and know that we need to load some data for yuval.
- I use a ViewHandler to load the data (it delegates the call to some service that gets the data from the database)
- I now forward the user to a known jsf page that is bounded with the viehandler and presents yuval's stuff .
Actually, the first time i try to use the code, the navigation goes well. But right after refresh or calling the same url again I get an exception. The code and the exception are provided here:

Explanation:
First we try to get the FacesContext, using the current request and response objects. Now we know what action we want to invoke on what ViewHandler, so we go ahead and make a method binding for this method through the JSF Application context. Now we invoke the method and get the outcome String from it. Till now everything seems to work ok � we get the ViewHandler's method invoked correctly and we get the proper outcome String from it.
This means the ViewHandler is now populated with our needed data, so all we have left to do is go to the presentation page that uses this ViewHandler.
We use JSF's NavigationHandler to navigate as usual, giving it a "fromAction" and an outcome. Now we want the name of the page for this navigation, so we get the view id from the FacesContext. The view id is correct and points to the next page as states in the faces-navigation.xml, so we set it as the new view root and try to "dispatch()" (which is the same as "forward()") to it.
The result seems sufficient, as we get to the next page and all the data is presented correctly (sometimes, in IE only we experienced some javascript errors that were unknown). The big problem occurs when trying to hit "REFRESH" or clicking back and then trying the original href link again. We suddenly get a NullPointerException that occurred in the "getValue()" method of JSF's getValueBinding()".

How do I allow parental controlled users to access third party apps on the admin account?
I just set my son up with a separate parental controlled user account and he can't seem to access some third party games that we installed for him under my admin account. He has saved progress on these games that we don't want to lose, so I don't want to reinstall them. I checked them off as allowed apps, but when he tries to play- the game icon shows up in the doc then changes to the updater icon and they won't run. I've searched for answers to this question, but can't seem to find any. Please help? My son and I would be very grateful!

As I went to bed last night, I thought the same thing as you, to try a system restore. Otherwise, to answer the rest of your question, in XP, the location of the Update is in your Program Files/Apple Software Update.
To find the hidden files that may be stopping you from disabling the updater, and doing a clean install, go to:
My Computer, and on the Menu bar, click Tools/Folder Options/View/Show Hidden Files and Folders/click Apply/OK then double click on your main drive (C:) then Documents and Settings/your user name/Application Data/ and delete the Apple computer folder with it iTunes and Preferences.
Also in that previous views Local Settings/Application Data/Apple (Update Software)and also Apple Computer/iTunes.
Go back to Documents and Settings (again from C: drive mode) click on All Users/Application Data/Apple and if you open up Installer Cache, you will also see that it has an Apple Updater in it (unless it was uninstalled on the original uninstall). Also from that Application Data window, you will see Apple Computer Folder which has previous iTunes info that needs to be deleted. Some of these folders may be gone, but at least you can check to see, to make sure.
Here is a link from another post, to confirm or help clear up any of my paths/solutions.
When you've done all that, restart your PC, and I would run CCleaner (the free version links are just below the Buy and Download button) just to clean things up, and try your re-install.

Implementing SSL during user log in

I'm a newbie in all this. From searches online, I understand that in SSL there's server certificate and client certificate to be exchanged. I have managed to generate these from the keytool in the Java JDK.
Question is how do I implement them? Preferably some codes or a guide to implementing would help me greatly. I am working on a project and I need to implement SSL during user log in (both on a localhost computer). Up to this point in time, I can log in successfully after verification of user id & password but where does the SSL part comes into play?Always paste only the ERROR lines, not the full content.
Suggestions: Upgrade your Database for 9i to 10g (9i is out of support)
Size your hardware and application based on your system load etc
Solution for above issue: Try to kill some of the work processes from OS level (Application restart is better than this)

What is the simplest way (that is to say if it can be done only by customizing it's fine !) to control user inputs ?
Indeed, in xRPM, when creating a Proposal, it is possible to enter a project ID with the '-' caracter. This is causing quite a lot of problems with BW. Therefore, we would like to be able to restrict possible values.
Are the following possible solutions :
- implement a regular expression on the field
- modify the BAPI used in xRPM Backend (BAPI_DXPROJECT_CREATE ?)

How to Generate Audit table entries for user navigation in ADF application?
Hi all,
I have a requirement that I need to have audit table entries for each user action in my application. Along with entries for user actions like insertion,deletion and updation I also need to have entries in the audit log even when a user simply navigates to or views any page.
Although I was successful in creating the entries for user actions like insertion,deletion and updation I failed to do so for simple user navigation through the pages.
Can anyone please help me out?

I was fixing defects for Siebel Wireless and Came across a Applet where Control User Prop is Set with "Keep Context" to Y. I changed itss value to "N" and got my defect fixed.
However I wanted to know from where can we find out what are valid "Control User Prop" that can be set and there details as to what they do ? Like for in this case I dont understand what this "Keep Context" does ?
I tried to look into the Siebel Bookshelf but there is nothing much that helped :-(

FaceTime will not connect (but rings) for parental controlled user.
I have a parental controlled user setup on a brand new mac mini running Lion. When initiating or receiving a FaceTime call as the parental controlled user, the connection rings, but after trying to connect the call fails. When the mac mini user is a normal user (not parental controlled), it works fine. The parental controlled user has their own apple id / email address. Under the parental controls it is set to unlimited web access.
Any help here would be great.

normally the restrictions for saving layouts/display variants are done at 2 levels:
1) The developer of an ALV list first predetermines the authorization in the 'i_save' parameter within the code.
I_SAVE = ' ' -
layouts cannot be saved
I_SAVE = 'A' -
user-specific and cross-user layouts can be saved
I_SAVE = 'X' --- cross-user layouts can be saved
I_SAVE = 'U' --- user-specific layouts can be saved
2) The second level comes to us restriciting the S_ALV_LAYO which gives access to users to save global layouts if I_SAVE for that particular transaction is A or X.
for example, a report has I_SAVE= 'A', which means
it will allow to save User-specific layouts without any restrictions.
and if user has S_ALV_LAYO then he can save both User-Specific and Global Layouts(variants).
it would be better to keep this object separate. -
